Abstract

A granular detergent additive free of dispersing aids or structure-formers such as soaps contains (A) a solid silicate carrier; (B) nonionic surfactant(s) (more than 30 wt.%); and (C) an anionic surfactant. Independent claims are also included for: (i) production of the additive by loading the carrier (A) with a mixture of (B) and (C) during agglomeration in an intensive mixer; and (ii) use of an anionic surfactant (C) in acid (i.e. protonated) form in improving the solubility of a granular additive containing (A) and (B).
