Metalldampflampe. Die neue Lampe zeichnet sich dadurch vor bekannten
aus, daß sie innerhalb des den Lampenkörper bildenden Quarzrohres ein zweites lose
eingesetztes Quarzschutzrohr besitzt und einen darart abnehmbaren Verschluß, daß
das Schutzrohr an der Verwendungs,-stelle leicht herausgenommen und wieder eingesetzt
werden kann. und daß auch Einsatzrohre für Lichtfiltrationszwecke ebenso leicht
eingesetzt und ausgewechselt werden können. Das hat die Bedeutung, daß. die von
der Strahlung unmittelbar getroffenen, mit der Zeit blind werdenden Quarzrohre leicht
wieder blank gemacht werden können. Zu diesem Zweck mußte man bisher die ganze Lampe
in die Lampenfabrik schicken, sie aufschmelzen und dann die Innenwände reini,-en
lassen. Bei der neuen Lampe kann das blind gewordene Innenrohr entweder ohne weiteres
durch ein Ersatzrohr ersetzt oder nach Herausnahme leicht gereinigt und wieder eingesetzt

a mit einem Flansch al versehen, welcher zur Anbringung des Verschlusses dient.
Dieser Metallkappenverschluß ist für Metalldampf- und Vakuumgefäße an sich allgemein
bekannt und besteht aus einem Deckel c, der sich mit einein federnden Rande cl quecksilberdicht
an die Innenseite des Rohres a anlegt und dadurch das Quecksilber vor Berührung
mit dem Dichtungsringe e2 schützt. Der Deckel wird durch eine zentrale, in der Kapsel
c3 dicht gehende Schraube angepreßt. Die Kapsel hängt sich mit ihrer hochgehenden
Wandung mit Schraubengewinde an den Rohrstutzen c6. Dieser Rohrstutzen sitzt unter
Zwischenlage eines Ringes C4 zur gleichmäßigen Druc!kverteilung auf der oberen Seite
des Flansches al. Der Zwischenraum zwischen dem Rohrstutzen und der Kapsel ist mit
Quecksilber in an sich bekannter Weise gefüllt. Kühlrippen c5 sind außen an der
