Description
KAISERLICHES
PATENTAMT.
Die Erzeugung von Schamottewaren, selbst für Brenntemperaturen unter 1200° C, ist
jetzt nur unter Verwendung von ungebranntem Ton, Kaolin usw., gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz
von gebranntem Ton (Schamotte), Quarz o. dgl. Magerungsmitteln möglich, und aus solchen
Masseversätzen werden die herzustellenden Gegenstände geformt und in besonders konstruierten
Brennöfen einem lange andauernden und kostspieligen Brennprozeß unterworfen.
Durch das vorliegende Verfahren aber wird
erreicht, daß gebrannter Ton (Schamotte), der auch als Abfallprodukt billig bezogen werden
kann, im zerkleinerten Zustande mit einem kalkhaltigen Bindemittel (wie Gips, Kalk,
Magnesia, Marmor u. dgl.) vermischt, zum Formen oder Pressen von Schamottewaren
oder aus Schamotte herzustellenden Einrichtungen verwendet und dann nach der bei
Herstellung von Kalksandsteinen bekannten Art unter hochgespanntem Dampf erhärtet
werden kann. Bei den nach diesem Verfahren erzeugten Schamottewaren erübrigt sich das
kostspielige Brennen, und unter Anwendung des Dampfdruckes wird die im gebrannten
Ton (Schamotte) enthaltene Kieselsäure aufgeschlossen, so daß ein Calcium-Tonerde-Doppelsilicat
(Zeolith) entsteht, welches den geformten oder gepreßten Gegenständen eine
ziemlich hohe Feuerbeständigkeit und Druckfestigkeit bei geringer Wasseraufnahmefähigkeit
verleiht.
Claims (1)
- Patent-Anspruch:Verfahren zur Herstellung von ungebrannten Schamottewaren für bautechnische und ähnliche Zwecke, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß gebrannter Ton, Kaolin oder sonstige tonerde- und kieselsäurehaltige ,Stoffe (oder Abfälle von denselben) mit kalkhaltigen Bindemitteln versetzt und in an sich bekannter Weise unter Dampfdruck erhärtet werden.
