Verfahren zum Herstellen von Schwefel enthaltenden Organosiliziumverbindungen
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung
von an sich bekannten Organosilxziumverbindungen, welches auf einfache, sichere Weise aus leicht verfügbaren Ausgangsstoffen
und bei praktisch quantitativem Ablauf der Reaktion ausführbar ist. Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren zum Herstellen von
Schwefel enthaltenden Organosiliziumverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel

bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder die Phenoxygruppe bedeuten, wobei R1 und R2 jeweils die gleiche oder eine verschiedene Bedeutung
haben können, Alk einen zweiwertigen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit gerader oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette, die gegebenenfalls
ein- oder zweimal durch - 0 - , - S - oder - NH - unterbrochen ist, mit einem bis zahn Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und χ eine
Zahl von 2,0 bis 6,0 ist, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man

mit elementarem Schwefel umsetzt.
Der elementare Schwefel wird zweckmässigerweise in feinverteilter Form eingesetzt, zum Beispiel als Schwefelpulver. Die Reaktion
setzt im allgemeinen schon bei Normaltemperatur ein, nachdem die beiden Reaktionspartner zusammengebracht worden sind.
Zweckmässigerweise wird zur Verkürzung der Reaktionszeit bei erhöhter bzw. bei steigender Temperatur gearbeitet. Die Temperatur
wird nach der Art der eingesetzten Mercaptoverbindung gewählt und kann experimentell leicht festgesetzt bzw. optimiert werden.
Allgemein kann der Temperaturbereich mit etwa 10 bis 25O°C, insbesondere
20 bis 200°C angegeben werden. Es kann von Vorteil sein, die erfindungsgemässe Reaktion in einem organischen Lösungsmittel

Äthylalkohol, Propylalkohol, Isopropylalkohol und dergleichen, ferner Dimethylformamid und Äther wie insbesondere cyclische
Äther, also beispielsweise Tetrahydrofuran, Dioxan und dergleichen. Weiterhin verwendbar sind Aceton und aromatische
Kohlenwasserstoffe wie beispielsweise Benzol, Toluol, Xylol und dergleichen.sowie halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe wie etwa Tetrachlorkohlenstoff,
Trichloräthylen, Chloroform u.s.w.
Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren läuft ohne Einsatz eines Katalysators
praktisch vollständig und auch relativ rasch ab.
Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren wird vorzugsweise unter Luft-
und bzw. oder Feuchtigkeits-(Wasser-)ausschluss durchgeführt, um
Nebenreaktionen zu vermeiden. Man kann beispielsweise unter trockenem Inertgas wie Stickstoff oder einem Edelgas arbeiten. Es kann
aber auch zweckmässig sein, unter vermindertem Druck zu arbeiten; leicht erhöhter Druck wird nicht ausgeschlossen. Als Ausgangsverbindungen
für das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren werden aus den Verbindungen gemäss der allgemeinen Formel (il) vorzugsweise solche

Die neue Reaktion läuft nach folgender Gleichung ab 2 Z - Alk - SH + S3^- Z — Alk — S^jj— AIk-Z + H2 S,
und zwar bei entsprechender im allgemeinen molarer Dosierung des Schwefels in praktisch quantitativer Ausbeute. Vorgezogen wird
ein Molverhältnis Z - Alk - SH zu Schwefel von 1 zu 0,5 bis 1 zu 2^5· Der entstehende Schwefelwasserstoff entweicht in der
Regel zum überwiegenden Teil; die eventuell im flüssigen Reaktionsprodukt verbleibende Restmenge an Schwefelwasserstoff kann
beispielsweise durch Anlegen eines Vakuums entfernt werden,wie auch die Restmenge an Lösungsmittel, das an sich destillativ
entfernt wird.
Die polysulfidischen Silane gemäss der allgemeinen Formel I sind
an sich grösstenteils aus der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift
2 l4l l6o bekannt. Sie werden demgemäss aber nach anderen Reaktionen
hergestellt. Eine weitere Herstellungsweise ist in der deutschen Offenlegungssehrift 2 1^1 159 beschrieben. Diesen
Reaktionen gegenüber ist das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren über-

raschend einfach, sowohl in seiner Durchführung als auch in seinem
praktisch quantitativen Ablauf. Möglicherweise entstehen hinsichtlich
der Zahl der Schwefelatome Mischungen von Silanen, also gegebenenfalls Di-, Tri-, Tetra-, Penta- und bzw. oder Hexasulfide in diversen
Mischungsverhältnissen.
Der apparative Aufwand zur Ausführung des neuen Verfahrens ist gering.
Das Verfahren ist aus den genannten Gründen auch sehr wirtschaftlich durchzuführen.
Ein Teil der erfindungsgemäss herstellbaren Verbindungen ist neu.

1. In einem Dreihalskolben mit Rührer, Innenthermometer und Stickstofftauchfritte zum Austreiben von Schwefelwasserstoff
werden zwei Mole 3-Mercaptopropyl-trimethoxysilan der Formel

5. Im Kolben der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Apparatur löst man in 500 ml Äthylalkohol 2 Mole 3-Mercaptopropyl-triäthoxysilan
und fügt 3 Mole Schwefel hinzu. Man erhitzt und bereits bei 50°C ist die erste bedeutendere Gasentwicklung zu beobachten.
Die Hauptreaktion läuft zwischen 60°C und 700C ab. Nach 1,5
Stunden Kochen am Rückfluss ist die Reaktion beendet und man erhält nach destillativer Entfernung des Äthylalkohols z.B. im
Vakuum in so gut wie quantitativer Ausbeute wiederum Bis-(3-triäthoxysilylpropyl)-tetrasulfid»
bestätigt durch die Analyse.
6. In der im Beispiel !'beschriebenen Apparatur werden 2 Mole

Claims (1)
- Patentansprüche. JQ1, Verfahren zum Herstellen von Schwefel enthaltenden Organosiliziumverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel(i) Z- Alk -S- Alk - Z ,in der Z für die GruppierungenR1 R1 R2 OC2 Hk-Si-R1 , - Si^--R2 , - si<—-R2 und - Si<—-OC2H* N^R2 ^R2 ^R2 ^OC2H4 ^steht, in denen R1 eine Alkylgruppe mit gerader oder verzweigter Kette von 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, ein Cycloalkylrest mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, der Phenylrest oder eine Aminogruppe der Formeln -NH2, -NHR3 oder -NR3R*, worin R3 und R* die Bedeutungen Alkylgruppen mit gerader oder verzweigter Kette von 1 bis k Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylreste mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder der Phenylrest haben, und R2 eine AIkoxygruppe mit gerader oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette mit einem bis acht Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Cycloalkoxygruppe mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder die Phenoxygruppe bedeuten, wobei R1 und R2 jeweils die gleiche oder eine verschiedene Bedeutung haben können, Alk einen zweiwertigen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit gerader oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette, die gegebenenfalls ein- oder zweimal durch -0-, -S- oder -NH- unterbrochen ist, mit einem bis zehn Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und χ eine Zahl von 2,0 bis 6,0 ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel(il) Z - Alk - SHmit Schwefel umsetzt.2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Umsetzung im Molverhältnis Z - Alk - SH zu Schwefel von 1 zu 0,5 bis 1 zu 2,5 bei erhöhter Temperatur durchführt.- 13 -509834/10063. Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Umsetzung in Gegenwart eines organischen Lösungsmittels durchführt.k, Verfahren nach den Ansprüchen Γ bis 3 t dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Umsetzung mit einer Verbindung II ausführt, in der Alk eine Äthylen-, n-Propylen-, i-Propylen-, n-Butylen- oder i-Butylengruppe ist und Z für die Gruppierung °R2
- Si--R2steht, worin R2 eine Alkoxygruppe mit einem bis vier Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet.5. Schwefel enthaltende Organosiliziumverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel(ill) . Z- Alk - S - Alk - Z , -in der Z für die GruppierungenR1 R1 OC2H4_ Si^--R1 , - Si-- — R2 und - Si-OC2H4-N R2 R2steht, in denen R1 ein Cycloalkylrest mit 5 bis 7 Kohlenstoffatomen oder eine Aminogruppe der Formeln -NH2, -NHR3 oder -NR3 R1* , worin R3 und R* die Bedeutungen Alkylgruppen mit gerader oder verzweigter Kette von 1 bis k Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylreste mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder der Phenylrest haben, und R2 eine Alkoxygruppe mit gerader oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette mit einem bis acht Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Cycloalkoxygruppe mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder die Phenoxygruppe bedeuten, wobei, alle Symbole R1 und R2- Ik -509834/1006jeweils die gleiche oder eine verschiedene Bedeutung haben können, Alk einen zweiwertigen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit gera der oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette, die gegebenenfalls ein oder zweimal durch -0-, -S- oder -NH- unterbrochen ist, mit einem bis zehn Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und χ eine Zahl von 2,0 bis 6,0 ist
oder
in der Z für die GruppierungenR1 R1 R2 OC2H4 _si_ R1 t _ si____.R2( _ si- R2 und - Si OC2H4 NR2 Tl2 R2 ^0C2H4steht, in denen R1 eine Alkylgruppe mit gerader oder verzweigter Kette von 1 bis k Kohlenstoffatomen, ein Cycloalkylrest mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, der Phenylrest oder eine Aminogruppe der Formeln-NH2, -NHR3 oder -NR3R4, worin R3 und R4 die Bedeutungen Alkylgruppen mit gerader oder, verzweigter Kette von 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylreste mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder der Phenylrest haben, und R2 eine Alkoxygruppe mit gerader oder verzweigter Kohlenstoffkette mit einem bis acht Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Cycloalkoxygruppe mit 5 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder die Phenoxygruppe bedeuten, wobei R1 und R2 jeweils die gleiche oder eine verschiedene Bedeutung haben können, Alk einen zweiwertigen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit gerader oder verzweigter Kolilenstoffkette, die ein- oder zweimal durch -0-, -S- oder -NH- unterbrochen ist, mit einem bis zehn Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und χ eine Zahl von 2,0 bis 6,0 ist.PL/Gt-Pr
