Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Polychlorformylinphenylphosphate

haben, mit einem Chlorierungsmittel zur Umw;-zung
bringt. Spezielle Beispiele für ver-vendbarc und
insbesondere technisch geeignete ChionerüngsrnmeS
sind Chlor. Thionylchlorid. Phosphortrichlori ' u-;i
zo Phosphorpentachlorid. Von uiesen Chlorierungsnm
tein besitzen C"hlor und Chlorverbindungen in technischer Hinsicht die größte Bedeutung. Thionylchlorid,
ein Gemisch aus Phosphortnchlorid und Chlor, ein Gemisch aus Phosphoroxychlorid und
Phosphorpentachlürid sowie ein Gemisch aus Chlorphosphortnchlond
und Phosphoroxychlorid werden bevorz>'£t eingesetzt. Man führt die Chlorierung im
allgemeinen so durch, daß man eine TPP-Carbons.iure
in einem Lösungsmittel löst oder suspendiert und der erhaltenen Lösung oder Suspension anschließend auf
einmal oder in Form \«>n Teilmengen das Chlonerungsmittel
zusetzt. Als Lösungsmittel oder Suspendieruniismittel
sind Flüssigkeiten geeignet, die sich gegenüber dem Reaktionssystem inert verhalten. Spe-
zielle Beispiele für diese Lösungs- und Suspendierungsmiltel
sind Dimethylformamid, Phosphoroxyihlond.
Trichlorbenzol und das Produkt als solches Bei Verwendung eines flüssigen Chlorierungsmittels
kann dessen Hberschuß selbst als Lösungs- oder als
Suspendierungsmittel dienen Lin spezielles Beispiel für eine Verbindung mit einer solchen Doppelfunktion
ist Phosphortnchlorid.
Das Verfahren wird im allgemeinen innerhalb
von 15 Minuten bis 24 Stunden bei Temperaturen
von O bis 150 C durchgeführt. Unter diesen Bedingungen
wird die Phosphatbindung kaum aufgespalten, und die als Ausgangsverbindung dienende TPP-Carbonsäure
wird mit befriediger ier Ausbeute in das TPP-Polycarbonsäurechlorid umgewandelt.
Das Verfahren kann auf die verschiedenste Weise abgewandelt werden. Bei Anwendung einer bevorzugten
Ausführungsform. nach welcher man die IPP-(arbonsäure
mit dem vorgenannten Gemisch aus Phosphortnchlorid und Chlor /ur umsetzung nnngi,
entsteht gleichzeitig Phosphoroxychlorid. das :n die
der Herstellung der TPP-Carbonsäure dienende Verfahrensstufe zurückgeführt werden kann.

Die Verbindungen der hrlindung besitzen mindestens
zwei außerordentlich reaktionsfähige ( hliirformylreste
und sind, wie trwa.mt. selKt sehr hitze beständig
bzw. selbstlöschend. Sie sind daher auf den verschiedensten Gebieten anwendbar, w ο solche I- igenschaften
verlangt werden, wie zur Herstellung von
verschiedenen fiammhemmenden und feuenerzögernden
Mitteln, hitze- und fiammabweisenden Kunststoffen
bzw. -fasem. anderen Polymerisaten Weichmachern. Vernetzungsmitteln. Texlilchemikalien. Anstrichbindemitteln.
Klebstoffen, oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, Ilydraulikölen oder Schmierölen oder \^n
Komponenten bzw. Zusätzen für die vorgenannten synthetischen Produkve. Der Wer1 der TPP-PoIycarbonsäurehalogenide

Chemikalien ist um so höher, als die /u ihrer Herstellung eingesetzten TPP-Carbonsjur^n unter
relativ niedrigen Kosten herstellbar und in großen Mengen verfügbar sind.

Man versetzt eine Lösung von 302 Teilen Phosphorpentachlorid
in 549 Teilen ί hosphoroxychlorid. die sich in einem vorn Wasserzutritt geschützten Rundkolben
befindet, bei Temperaturen von weniger als 10 C unter gründlichem Rühren mit IS3 Teilen fcinpulvengeni
^'.^'-Tncarboxytnphenylphosphat. Man
erhitzt das Reaktionsgemisch dann zur Aufrechterhaltung
einer feinen Dispersion unter gründlichem R'ihren un*i hält es ansthlie end I Stunde bei Temperaturen
von 40 bis 50' C und daraufhin 3 Stunden bei 95 C. Während dieser Zeit verschwindet c'as ungelöste
4.4',4"-Tricarboxytriphenylphosphat allmählich, und man erhält nach Beendigung der Umsetzung
eine klare homogene Lösung. 3 Stunden nach Beginn der Umsetzung hört die Chlorwasserstoffgasentwidclung
auf. Man destilliert dann das Phosphoroxychlorid ab, kühlt die Reaktionsflüssigkeit und fii'riert
eine geringe Menge von ausgefallenem, nicht umgesetzte!.ι
Phosphorpentachlorid ab. Nach fraktioniei tcr
Destillation des Filtrats erhält man 185 Teile der Fraktion des 4,4',4"-TrichlorformyItriphenyli»hosphats
(Siedebereich = 319 bis 322 C 4 i'orr).
Das erhaltene Produkt ist eine hellgelb gefärbte viskose Flüssigkeit, die sich beim Stehen bei Raumtemperatur
verfestigt. Die IR-AnaI>se ergibt eine Absorptionsbande bei 1740cm '. die der Chioiformylgruppe
entspricht (Absorptionsbande der Carbonylgrupp··:
V -- 1780 cm ').
und es hai sich eine vollständige homogene Lösung gebildet. Man erhitzt diese Lösung weitere 30 Minuten
unter Rühren und befreit sie danach durch Destillation vom Phosphoroxychlond und einer geringen
Menge in der Lösung verbliebenem Phosphortrichiorid Den erhaltenen Rückstand destilliert man
unter vermindertem Druck. Dabei gewinnt man 3! Teile der Fraktion des 3,3'.3"-Trich!orformyltriphenylphosphats
(Siedebereich = 283 b;s 284,5 C<
0.9 Torr).
Die vorgenannte Fraktion ist eine hellgelbe viskose FI issigkeit, in deren IR-Spjktrum keine für eine
Carboxylgruppe charakteristische Absorptionsbande auftritt.

Man versetzt 2(XI Teile Thionylchlorid mit 401 eilen
4,4'-Dicarboxytriph<.-nylphosphat und erhitzt das erhaltene
Gemisch 5 Stunden auf Temperaturen von 78 bis PO <" wobei d.^ Thionylchlorid unter Rückfluß
s'eof ',-inch Abdesi llation des nicht umgesetzten
Thionylchlorid vom Reaktionsgemisch destilliert man den erhaltenen Rückstand unter vermindertem Druck.
Dabei gewinnt man 41 Teil; der Fraktion des 4,4'-Dichlorformyltriphenylphosphats
(Siedebereich = 257 bis 259 C 0,2 Torr).
Das IR-Spektrum dieser Fraktion zeigt keine für eine Carboxylgruppe charakteristische Absorptionsbande, dafür jedoch zwei deutliche Banden bei 1780
bzw. 1740 cm"1. Diese Banden entsprechen einer Chlorformylgruppe. Die vorgenannte Fraktion ist
eine weiße feste Substanz, die einen Fp von etwa CO" C aufweist.

Man erhitzt ein Gemisch aus 30 Teilen 3.3'-Dicarboxytriphcnylphosphat.
33 Teilen Phosphorpentachlorid und 150 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid unter Rühi en
2 Stunden unter Rückfluß des Phosphoroxychlorids auf 106' C. wobei eine Chlorierung erfolgt. Anschließend
behandelt man das Reaktionsgemisch gemäß Beispiel I weiter. Man erhält 31 Teile 3,3-Dichlorformyltriphenylphosphat
(Siedebereich = 252 bis 256 C70.12 Torr). Die erhaltene Fraktion ist eine
klare, hellgelb gefärbte viskose Flüssigkeil, die beim
Stehen bei Raumtemperatur zu nner weißen, festen
Substanz mi! einem Ip von etwa f>0 C erstarrt. Die
IR-Analysc ergibt eine Absorptionsbande bei etwa

wird gemäß b) ein Polyester hergestellt.
Jeweils 60 Teile der erhaltenen Polyester werden 2<j
mit 40 Teilen Styrol vermischt. Nach Zusatz von 1 Teil Methyläthylk". jnperoxid und 0,5 Teilen Kobaltnaphthenat
(Kohaltsjehalt 6°o) wird das GemiM.';
bei Raumtemperatur zu Probekörpern ausgehartet
Mit den erhaltenen Prob^körpern werden Vi.r- ^o
brenrungsve;suche durchgeführt. Die HersUi.ingsrezepturen

Der Verbrennungstest zeigt, daß die un: r Verwendung
der TPP-Polycarbonsäurechloridc hergestellten
Polyester bessere flammabweisendc Eigenschaften aufweisen und bei der Verbrennunb eine
geringere Rauchentwicklung zeigen als die mit Hexachlorendomethylentetrahydrophthalsäure
hergestellten Polyester.
