Abstract
Bei einem netzunabhängig betreibbaren medizinischen Gerät (1) mit wenigstens einer Spannungsquelle (2), einem Signaleingang (3) zur Aufnahme eines Eingangssignals und einer Signalverarbeitungseinheit (4) sind die Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal bzw. die Taktfrequenz wenigstens eines digitalen Bauelements (5) veränderbar. Damit kann der Energiebedarf gemäß den Erfordernissen der Signalverarbeitung oder, wenn der Entladezustand der Spannungsquelle (2) dies erfordert, reduziert werden.
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein netzunabhängig betreibbares medi
zinisches Gerät mit wenigstens einem Signaleingang zur Auf
nahme eines Eingangssignals und einer Signalverarbeitungsein
heit.
Prozessorgesteuerte, netzunabhängig betreibbare medizinische
Geräte werden heute in vielen Bereichen der medizinischen
Diagnostik und Therapie eingesetzt. Beispiele hierfür sind
Elektrokardiographen, Blutdruckmeßgeräte, Blutzuckerüberwa
chungsgeräte, Herzschrittmacher oder Hörhilfegeräte. Im all
gemeinen weist ein derartiges Gerät wenigstens eine Span
nungsquelle, beispielsweise eine Batterie oder einen Akkumu
lator, einen Signaleingang zur Aufnahme eines Eingangssignals
und eine Signalverarbeitungseinheit auf. Vor der digitalen
Verarbeitung eines analogen Eingangssignals wird dieses zu
nächst abgetastet und A/D-gewandelt. Die Abtastrate wird hier
üblicherweise nach der höchsten noch auszuwertenden Frequenz
des Eingangssignals gewählt. Ebenso werden die Taktfrequenzen
der digitalen Bauelemente, wie z. B. A/D-Wandler, D/A-Wandler,
Signalverarbeitungsprozessoren usw., bzw. der Systemtakt bei
der Herstellung des medizinischen Geräts festgelegt. Diese
bleiben fortan beim Betrieb des Geräts unverändert.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, den Energiebedarf
eines netzunabhängig betreibbaren medizinischen Geräts zu
senken.
Diese Aufgabe wird für ein Netzunabhängig betreibbares medi
zinisches Gerät mit wenigstens einer Spannungsquelle, einem
Signaleingang zur Aufnahme eines Eingangssignals und einer
Signalverarbeitungseinheit dadurch gelöst, daß die Abtastrate
für das Eingangssignal und/oder die Taktfrequenz wenigstens
eines digitalen Bauelements automatisch oder manuell verän
derbar sind.
Bei den bekannten medizinischen Geräten, die mit festgelegtem
Systemtakt bzw. festgelegter Abtastrate betrieben werden, ist
der Energiebedarf für die Abtastung des Eingangssignals und
den Betrieb der digitalen Bauelemente nahezu konstant. Häufig
ist jedoch nicht die gesamte Bandbreite des Eingangssignals
von Interesse und auch die maximal mögliche Prozessorleistung
wird nur zum Teil ausgeschöpft. Der Energiebedarf zum Betrieb
des medizinischen Geräts bleibt davon jedoch unberührt. Das
erfindungsgemäße Herabsetzen der Abtastrate für das Eingangs
signal und/oder der Taktfrequenz eines digitalen Bauelements,
z. B. eines Mikroprozessors oder eines digitalen Signalprozes
sors, haben eine nahezu proportionale Verringerung der Lei
stungsaufnahme der entsprechenden Bauelemente zur Folge. In
entsprechendem Maße läßt sich die Betriebszeit des medizini
schen Geräts mit einer eingesetzten Batterie oder einem ein
gesetzten Akkumulator erhöhen.
Gemäß einer einfach zu realisierenden Ausführung der Erfin
dung erfolgt die Veränderung der Abtastrate oder der Taktfre
quenz durch manuelle Betätigung eines dafür vorgesehenen Be
dienelements. Der Anwender des medizinischen Geräts hat damit
die Möglichkeit, selbsttätig auf den Energiebedarf des Geräts
einzuwirken.
Eine andere, komfortablere Variante der Erfindung sieht vor,
daß die Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal und/oder die Takt
frequenz wenigstens eines digitalen Bauelements automatisch
durch eine Signalanalyse- und Auswerteeinheit steuerbar sind.
Wird beispielsweise erkannt, daß das Eingangssignal nur eine
eingeschränkte Bandbreite aufweist, so wird die Abtastrate
selbsttätig entsprechend angepaßt.
Eine weitere Möglichkeit bildet ein medizinisches Gerät mit
mehreren Signaleingängen zur parallelen Aufnahme mehrerer
Eingangssignale, bei dem jedoch nicht an jedem Signaleingang
ein Eingangssignal anliegt oder bei dem nicht alle Eingangs
signale ausgewertet werden sollen. Hier kann eine Signalabta
stung teilweise ganz unterbleiben und auch die Leistung eines
Signalprozessors zur Verarbeitung der Eingangssignale kann
entsprechend reduziert werden, was durch Herabsetzen der
Taktfrequenz geschieht.
Eine Ausführungsform der Erfindung sieht vor, daß die Abtast
rate für das Eingangssignal und/oder die Taktfrequenz wenig
stens eines digitalen Bauelements vom Zustand der Spannungs
quelle abhängen. Deutet sich ein Nachlassen der Spannungsver
sorgung an, so ist dieses Gerät manuell oder automatisch in
eine Art "Energiesparmodus" überführbar. Damit läßt sich zwar
mit: eingeschränkter Funktionalität, dafür jedoch mit redu
ziertem Energiebedarf, für eine begrenzte Zeit noch ein ein
geschränkter Betrieb aufrechthalten.
Bei einer vorteilhaften Ausbildung des medizinischen Geräts
gemäß der Erfindung handelt es sich um ein Hörhilfegerät mit
wenigstens einer Spannungsquelle, einem Eingangswandler zur
Aufnahme eines akustischen Eingangssignals, einem Ausgangs
wandler und einer Signalverarbeitungseinheit. Aufgrund der
angestrebten Miniaturisierung ist insbesondere bei Hörhilfe
geräten die Speicherkapazität der Spannungsquelle eng be
grenzt. Eine Herabsetzung des Energiebedarfs wirkt sich somit
bei diesen Geräten besonders vorteilhaft aus.
Moderne Hörhilfegeräte bieten dem Hörgeräteträger die Wahl
möglichkeit zwischen verschiedenen Hörprogrammen. Diese wie
derum sind speziell an bestimmte Hörsituationen angepaßt. Un
terschiedliche Hörsituationen erfordern jedoch auch unter
schiedlichen Rechenaufwand bei der Signalverarbeitung. Diesem
Umstand wird nach der Erfindung durch eine entsprechend den
Erfordernissen des gewählten Hörprogramms angepaßte Abtast
rate und Taktfrequenz Rechnung getragen. Die entsprechende
Anpassung erfolgt damit manuell oder automatisch durch Wahl
des Hörprogramms.
Eine weitere Möglichkeit bildet die Erfindung darin, daß mit
tels einer Signalanalyse- und Auswerteeinheit die augenblick
liche Schallsituation, in der sich das Hörhilfegerät befin
det, erkannt wird und die Einstellung der Abtastrate oder der
Taktfrequenz darauf beruhend automatisch erfolgt. Ein Bei
spiel für eine derartige Schallsituation ist eine Umgebung
mit Sprachsignalen, die von Störsignalen überlagert sind.
Bietet das Hörhilfegerät beispielsweise die Möglichkeit, Ein
gangssignale bis maximal 10 kHz zu verarbeiten und zu über
tragen, so ist bei Sprachsignalen die Übertragung und Verar
beitung bis maximal 5 kHz in der Regel ausreichend. Somit
können die Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal und die Taktfre
quenz des digitalen Signalprozessors bzw. der Systemtakt hal
biert werden. Störsignale mit einer Frequenz oberhalb 5 kHz
werden somit nicht mehr übertragen. Darüber hinaus können
vorhandene Filter zur Störgeräuschunterdrückung im einge
schränkten Frequenzbereich bis 5 kHz entsprechend selektiver
arbeiten. Wird nun wieder ein anderes Hörprogramm einge
stellt, bei dem, z. B. für Musik, eine größere Bandbreite ge
wünscht ist, kann der Systemtakt wieder heraufgesetzt werden.
Es ist sogar denkbar, daß man den Systemtakt für klangopti
mierte Hörprogramme gegenüber dem Normalwert erhöht.
Weitere Vorteile und Einzelheiten der Erfindung ergeben sich
aus der nachfolgenden Beschreibung eines Ausführungsbeispiels
anhand der Zeichnung und in Verbindung mit den Patentansprü
chen.
In der Figur ist schematisch ein digitales Hörhilfegerät 1
mit einem akustisch/elektrischen Eingangswandler 3, einem
A/D-Wandler 10 zur Abtastung und A/D-Wandlung eines Eingangs
signals, einer Signalverarbeitungseinheit 4 mit einem digi
talen Signalprozessor 5, einem D/A-Wandler 11 und einem elek
trisch/akustischen Ausgangswandler 9 dargestellt. Weiterhin
weist das Hörhilfegerät 1 einen Taktgenerator 12 mit verän
derbarem Ausgangstakt, eine Signalanalyse- und Auswerteein
heit 7 sowie ein Bedienelement 6 in Form eines Tastschalters
auf. Zur Spannungsversorgung des Hörhilfegeräts 1 dient eine
Batterie 2.
Anders als bei dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel mit ei
nem Taktgenerator 12, der die Taktfrequenz der digitalen Bau
elemente des Hörhilfegeräts 1 festlegt (Systemtakt), kann
auch einzelnen Bauelementen ein eigener Taktgenerator zuge
ordnet und gemäß der Erfindung hinsichtlich der Taktfrequenz
veränderbar sein.
Mittels des Tastschalters 6 sind verschiedene Hörprogramme
wählbar. Diese sind jeweils für unterschiedliche Hörsitua
tionen optimiert. In Abhängigkeit von dem gewählten Hörpro
gramm wird die Taktfrequenz für Hörgerätebauteile, wie A/D-
Wandler 10, Signalprozessor 5 oder D/A-Wandler 11, sowie die
Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal festgelegt. Eine weitere
Möglichkeit zur Festlegung der Taktfrequenz und der Abtast
rate bildet das Ausführungsbeispiel mittels der Signalana
lyse- und Auswerteeinheit 7. Diese analysiert das analoge wie
auch das A/D-gewandelte Eingangssignal und erkennt das Fre
quenzspektrum des Eingangssignals bzw. die Hörsituation, in
der sich das Hörhilfegerät 1 befindet. Auch diese Auswertung
beeinflußt den Taktgenerator 12. Darüber hinaus wird von den
Mitteln 8 zur Prüfung der Spannungsquelle 2 deren Zustand
überwacht. Nähert sich die darin gespeicherte Energie ihrem
Ende, so wird durch diese Mittel 8 die Taktfrequenz reduziert
und die Signalverarbeitung in einen eingeschränkten Betriebs
modus überführt. Damit ist für begrenzte Zeit noch ein einge
schränkter Betrieb des Hörhilfegeräts 1 mit der eingesetzten
Batterie 2 möglich.
Claims (9)
1. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät (1) mit
wenigstens einer Spannungsquelle (2), einem Signaleingang (3)
zur Aufnahme eines Eingangssignals und einer Signalverarbei
tungseinheit (4), dadurch gekenn
zeichnet, daß die Abtastrate für das Eingangs
signal und/oder die Taktfrequenz wenigstens eines digitalen
Bauelements (5) automatisch oder manuell veränderbar sind.
2. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät (1) nach
Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeich
net, daß die Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal und/oder
die Taktfrequenz des digitalen Bauelements (5) manuell durch
Betätigung eines Bedienelements (6) veränderbar sind.
3. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät (1) nach
Anspruch 1 mit einer Signalanalyse- und Auswerteeinheit (7)
zur Analyse und Auswertung des Eingangssignals, da
durch gekennzeichnet, daß die Abtast
rate für das Eingangssignal und/oder die Taktfrequenz des di
gitalen Bauelements (5) automatisch durch die Signalanalyse-
und Auswerteeinheit (7) steuerbar sind.
4. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät (1) nach
Anspruch 1 mit Mitteln (8) zum Prüfen der Spannungsquelle
(2), dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Abtastrate für das Eingangssignal und/oder die Takt
frequenz des digitalen Bauelements (5) abhängig vom Zustand
der Spannungsquelle (2) einstellbar sind.
5. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät (1) nach
einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, ausgebildet als
Funktionsmeß- und/oder Überwachungsgerät.
6. Netzunabhängig betreibbares medizinisches Gerät nach einem
oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, ausgebildet als digita
les Hörhilfegerät (1) mit wenigstens einer Spannungsquelle
(2), einem Eingangswandler (3) zur Aufnahme eines akustischen
Eingangssignals, einem Ausgangswandler (9) und einer Signal
verarbeitungseinheit (4).
7. Hörhilfegerät nach Anspruch 6 mit mehreren einstellbaren
Hörprogrammen, dadurch gekennzeich
net, daß die Einstellung der Abtastrate für das Ein
gangssignal und/oder der Taktfrequenz des digitalen Bauele
ments (5) durch Wahl des Hörprogramms erfolgen.
8. Hörhilfegerät nach Anspruch 6 mit einer Signalanalyse- und
Auswerteeinheit (7) zum Erkennen der Schallsituation, in der
sich das Hörhilfegerät (1) befindet, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Einstellung der Ab
tastrate für das Eingangssignal und/oder der Taktfrequenz des
digitalen Bauelements (5) mittels der Signalanalyse- und Aus
werteeinheit (7) in Abhängigkeit von der Schallsituation, in
der sich das Hörhilfegerät (1) befindet, automatisch erfol
gen.
9. Hörhilfegerät nach Anspruch 8, dadurch ge
kennzeichnet, daß die Abtastrate für das Ein
gangssignal und/oder die Taktfrequenz des digitalen Bauele
ments (5) in einer Schallsituation mit Nutzsignalen in Form
von Sprachsignalen und Störsignalen herabsetzbar sind.
