Antinonchelatkonplexe und Verfahren zu deren
Herstellung
Die Erfindung betrifft neue Chelatkomplexe des Antimons
sowie ein Verfahren zu deren Herstellung.
Gemäss der vorliegenden Erfindung wird ein neuer Chelatkomplex mit der Struktur

geschaffen, worin M Phosphor oder Arsen ist, jedes

darstellt, R^ eine direkte Bindung oder einer zweiwertige Kohlenwasseretoffgruppe mit vorzugsweise 1 oder
2 C-Atomen in einer die M-Atome verbindenden Kette darstellt und X ein anionischer Ligand ist. Die Gruppen
R können einander gleich oder voneinander verschieden
sein, je nach Wunsch, und enthalten aus praktischen Gründen meistens nicht mehr als 6 oder 8 C-Atome, obwohl
grössere Gruppen auch verwendet werden können.
Die Chelatkomplexe nach der Erfindung eignen sich als Katalysatoren für Oligomerisations-, Polymerisationsoder Oxydierungsverfahren. Sie sind besonders geeignet
als Katalysatoren für die Polykondensation von Bisglykolestern aromatischer Dicarbonsäuren.
In der Struktur I ist M vorzugsweise Phosphor, kann aber Arsen sein, und R- ist vorzugsweise eine direkte Bindung,
- oder -(CHo)^-. R^, kann auch z.B. ein Derivat von
g- oder -CHgCHg- sein, worin mindestens ein Wasserstoffatom
durch eine einwertige Hydrcarbylgruppe mit z.B. bis zu 6 C-Atomen, wie z.B. Methyl, A'thyl, Butyl
oder Phenyl, ersetzt ist. Jedes R kann eine Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aralkyl-, Aryl-, Alkaryl-, Alkoxy-, Cycloalkoxy-,
Aryloxy- oder Alkaryloxygruppe, insbesondere
Methyl, A*thyl, iso-Propyl, iso-Butyl, Phenyl, Methoxy,
Äthoxy, iso-Propoxyt iso-Butoxy oder Phenoxy, sein.

Gernäss einem weiteren Merkmal der Erfindung wird ein
Verfahren zur Herstellung der Antimonchelate nach der
Erfindung vorgeschlagen, das darin besteht, dass eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Pormel III

worin die Symbole die ο.a.Bedeutungen haben, in Berührung
mit SbX-, wobei X die o.a.Bedeutung hat, gebracht werden.
Geeignete Antimonverbindungen sind z.B. sowohl wasserfreie als auch wasserhaltige einfache anorganische Salze,
insbesondere die Halogenide, Perchlorate, Thiocyanate, Cyanide und Nitrate, einfache organische Salze, wie z.B.
das Acetat, und Antimontrialkyle.
Das Verfahren wird am zweckmässigsten in Lösung durchgeführt.
Vorzugsweise wird die Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel III und die Antimonverbindung getrennt voneinander
in geeigneten Lösungsmitteln gelöst. Lösungsmittel, die verwendet werden können, sind u.a. Aceton, Methanol,
Chloroform, Wasser, Benzol, Ithylacetat und Äthanol.
Die beiden Lösungen werden dann vermischt, und das so erhaltene Metallchelat wird durch Filtern, Kristallisation
oder Verdampfen gewonnen. Vorzugsweise sind die Lösungsmittel für die beiden Beaktionsteilnehmer einander
gleich oder in den angewandten Mengen miteinander mischbar. Die Bildung des Komplexes kann durch Wärmezufuhr
erleichtert werden, s.B. durch Erwärmung der Lösung mit der Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel III
und der Antimonverbindung unter Rückfluss.
Die Erfindung wird im folgenden anhand von Beispielen
näher erläutert, wobei alle Teile auf das Gewicht bezogen sind.

feile tetraphea/lmethylendiphoephin in 400 feilen
wurden alt 23 Teilen 100 völligen Wasserstoffperoxid in 100 !Pellen Aceton behandelt, und zwar bei
0°C. Das so erhaltene Dioxyd kristallisierte bei
Abdampfung des Lb'sungeaittels, so dass das Volumen um
etwa iwel Drittel Terringert wurde. Das Dioxyd wurde dann
aus heissea Aceton umkristallisiert und 3 Stunden in
einem Vakutuaofen bei 120°C getrocknet. Der Schmelzpunkt
betrug 185-186e0 und die Ausbeute 75-85*.
30 Teile Antiaontrlfluorld In heissem Metit&nol (1^0
feile) wurden mit einer Lösung von 70 fsilen Tctrs
phenylnöthylendiphosphindioxyd in heisstm H@thanol
(300 feile) unter Rühren unter einer Stickstoffatmosphäre behandelt. Die entstehende Losung wurde 90
Minuten unter Rückfluss erhitzt und dann gefiltert. Nach dem Abkühlen in Eiswasoer wurde das fαϊ bloße kristalline Produkt abgefiltert und mit Methanol gewaschen.
Bs wurde aus Methanol umkrietallisiert und in einem
Vakuumofen bei 600G getrocknet. Der Schmelzpunkt
betrug 210*C und die Auebeute 78-90 Teile.
Der Komplex wurde durch Elementenanalyse und Massen·
sowie Infrarotspektroskopie gekennzeichnet.

Dae Verfahren läset alch auch in Aceton durchführen,
wobei jedoch wesentlich grosser« Löeungemittelmengen
notwendig sind.
Verwendung des Komplexes a^a. Polymerisationskatalysator
0,064- Teile des Komplexes und 0,5 Teile TiO2 wurden
su dem Bis-glykolester zugegeben, der ferch Erwärmung
Ton 100 Teilen Dimethylterephthalat mit 71 Teilen Ithylenglykol in Gegenwart von Manganacetat-tetrahydrat
bei 120 bis 2200C hergestellt wurde. Das Gemisch aus
dem Bis-glykolester, dem Komplex und TiOg wurde unter
Ausschluss von Sauerstoff auf eine Temperatur von 235
bis 290°C in Vakuum erhitzt, bis ein Polymer mit einer grundmolaren Visoositätszahl von 0,70 erhalten wurde.
TetraphenylmethylendiarsindioxTdantimon-III-fluorid
25 Teile Triphenylarsin wurden tu einer Lösung von
Natrium (3,7 Teile) in flüssigem Ammoniak (425 Teile)
unter Stickstoff und unter schnellen Rühren bei -75°C zugegeben. Nach Farbänderung der Lösung von Blau auf
Orange wurden 4,28 Teile Ammoniumchlorid hinzugegeben, worauf das Reaktionsgemisch 1 Stunde nachgerührt wurde.
Dann wurden 6,68 Teile Methylenchlorid tropfenweise hinzugegeben, bis die Farbe verschwand. Hass liess das
Ammoniak abdampfen. Der feste Rücketand wurde dann

5mal mit Wasser und 2mal mit Methanol gewaschen und
dann aus n-Propanol umkristallisiert. Somit erhielt man Tetraphenylmethylendiarsin als einen farblosen
kristallinen Feststoff, Smp. 98°C. Dieses Diarsin
wurde mit einem überschuss an Wasserstoffperoxyd in Aceton oxydiert, und das nach Abdampfen des Acetons
erhaltene öl, das vermutlich ein Addukt des Dioxyds mit Wasserstoffperoayd ist, wurde mit 30%-iger Salpetersäure behandelt. Der entstehende weisse Feststoff,
KC6Hc)2As:OI3CH2.2HN0,, wurde abgefiltert und in
verdünnter wasseriger Ammoniaklösung gelöst, worauf die
Lösung mit Chloroform extrahiert wurde. Der nach Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels erhaltene blassgelbe
Feststoff wurde aus einem Gemisch aus Methylenehlorid
und Diethylether umkristallisiert. Somit erhielt man das farblose Diarsinsioacyd, Smp. 205-2070C.
Der Komplex wurde wie bei Beispiel 1 dargestellt, wobei man 11,15 Teile Tetraphenylmethylendiarsindioxyd in
Teilen Methanol und 4· ,8 Teile Antlmontrifluorid in
25 Teilen Methanol 15 Minuten unter Rückfluss erhitzte.
Das farblose kristalline Produkt wurde aus Methanol umkristaiiieiert und getrocknet und hatte dann einen
Schmelzpunkt von 235°0. Es wurde wie bei Beispiel 1 gekennzeichnet. Die Ausbeute betrug 11-13 Teile.

Der Komplex wurde mit Erfolg als Katalysator bei der
Polykondensation von Bis-(äthylenglykol)terephthalat. zu einem Polymer mit einer grundmolaren Viscositätszahl
von 0,68 verwendet.
Tetraisopropylmethylendiphosphonatantimon-III-fluorid
Tetraisopropylmethylendiphosphonat wurde nach dem Verfahren hergestellt, das in der Zeitschrift Journal
of the American Chemical Society (1961), Band 83, S.1722
beschrieben wird. Eine Lösung von 20 Teilen des Diphosphonats in trockenem Aceton (20 Teile) wurde
zu einer Losung von 10,4 Teilen Antiiaontrifluorid in heissem trockenem Aceton (300 Teile) zugegeben. Die
entstehende Lösung wurde 90 Minuten unter Rückfluss erhitzt und dann abgekühlt. Die Lösung wurde in Vakuum
eingedickt, so dasβ ein kristalliner Feststoff ausfällte.
Dieser wurde abgefiltert und durch Lösen in Aceton bei etwa 400C und Abkühlen auf -300C umkristallisiert. Somit
erhielt man 22,5 Teile eines kristallinen Feststoffs, Smp. 58-600C. Der Feststoff wurde durch Elementenanalyse
und Infrarotspektroskopie gekennzeichnet.
Der Komplex wurde mit Erfolg als Katalysator bei der Polykondensation von Bis-(äthylenglykol)terephthalat
zu einem Polymer Bit einer grundmolaren Viscositatszahl
von 0,66 verwendet.

Tetraphenyläthylendiphoaphindioatyd wurde nach de·
Verfahren hergestellt, das in der Zeitechrift Journal
of th· Chemical Society (1962), S.1490 beschrieben wird.
4,3 feile dieser Verbindung und 3,6 Teile Antiaontrifluorid wurden 4 Stunden unter Rückfluss in trockenes
Aceton (800 Seile) erhitst. Die helsse Lösung wurde gefiltert und dann über Kacht bei O°C gekühlt. Zs
schieden dabei 2,2 !Teile des kristallinen Komplexes aus.
Das Volumen des Lößungsmittel« wurde dann verringert,
und «an erhielt noch 0,8 Teile des Komplexen. Das Produkt wurde aus Methanol umkristallisieri;. Die erhaltenen
Kristalle hatten einen Schmelzpunkt von 268-2^Θ0 und
wurden durch Elementenanalys« und Infrarotspektroskopie
gekennzeichnet.
Beispiel 5
TetramethylaethylendiphoBPhlndioxydantijpon-III-fluorid
12,2 Teile Tetraaethyldiphosphin wurden langsam zu
2 Teilen Lithium in trockenem Tetrahydrofuran (139 Teile) unter Stickstoff zugegeben, und das Semisch wurde
auf O9C gekühlt und während der Zugabe dort gehalten.
Dann wurde das Gemisch unter Rühren erhitzt, und zwar fur 1 Stunde. Eine gelbe Lösung von (CHj)2FLi wurde
gebildet, und das überschüssige Lithiummetall wurde

abgefiltert. Die Lösung wurde dann mit 8 Teilen
rektifiziertem Methylenchlorid in trockenem Tetrahydrofuran bei O°C behandelt. Aus der Lösung schied etwas
Lithiumchlorid aus, und die Lösung wurde fast farblos. Das Tetrahydrofuran und das rohe Diphosphin, das dadurch
entstand, wurden bei 15 mm Hg-Säule bei 140-1200C destilliert, und das klare Destillat wurde mit Wasserstoffperoxid in Aceton beo 00C behandelt, um das
Disphosphin zu oxydieren. Das ganze Lösungsmittel wurde bei 15 mm Hg-Säule abgedampft, und das Diphosphindioxyd, das als öliger Rückstand anfällt, wurde bei
0,1 mat Hg-Säule (Sdp. 16O9C) destilliert. Beim Abkühlen
wurde es zu einem hydroskopisehen Feststoff. Ausbeute #5%.
Eine Lösung von 16,8 Teilen Tetramethylmethylendipiiosphindioxyd in trockenem Methanol (20 Teile) wurde zu einer
Lösung von 18 Teilen Antimontrifluorid in trockenes Methanol (200 Teile) zugegeben. Die entstehende Lösung
wurde 15 Minuten unter Rückfluss in einer Stickstoffatmosphäre erhitzt. Die noch.heisse Lösung wurde
gefiltert, und das Lösungsmittel wurde in Vakuum abgedampft. Als Produkt fiel ein farbloses 01 an.
Ss wurde durch wiederholte Ausscheidung aus Methanollösung durch Kühlen auf -730C gereinigt. Durch Infrarotspektroskopie stellte man fest, dass Komplexbildung
stattgefunden hatte, da die P^O-Streckfrequens um
cm verschoben war. Der Komplex wurde durch

Elementenanalyse gekennzeichnet. Die Ausbeute betrug
11 Taile.
TetraphenTlmethylendiphosphindioxfd-antimon-III-chlorid
Die Darstellung des Diphosphindioxyds ist in Beispiel 1
beschrieben. 83 Teile Antimontrichlorid in 250 Teilen
Aceton wurden 5 Stunden zusammen mit 15 feilen fetraphenylmetnylendiphoephindicwtyd in 500 Teilen Aceton
unter Hückfluss erhitzt. Das Gemisch wurde noch heisa
gefiltert, und die Losung wurde auf etwa ein Drittel des ursprünglichen Volumens eingedickt. Der so erhaltene
weisse Feststoff wurde aus Aceton umkristallisiert. Somit erhielt man 18,5 Teile eines kristallinen Fest»
stoffe, Smp. 235-238°C. Er wurde durch den Schmelzpunkt
und Infrarotspektroskopie gekennzeichnet.

Chelatkomplex, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er die StrukturH-MsO IR - K : O I RSbX,hat, worin IT ein Phosphor oder Arsenatom ist, jedes R eine einwertige Hydrocarbyl- oder Hydrocarbyloxygruppe darstellt, R.. eine direkte Bindung oder eine zweiwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe darstellt und X ein anionischer Ligand ist.2. Komplex nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass R1 eine direkte Bindung, -GH2- oder -CH2GH2- oder ein Derivat von -CHg- oder -CHUCEg-, worin mindestens ein Wasserstoffatom durch eine einwertige Hydrocarbylgruppe ersetzt ist, darstellt.3.
