Nach dem im Hauptpatent .... (Patentanmeldung M 60 373 IVc/23c) beschriebenen Verfahren werden zum Schmieren der glühenden Stahlblöcke beim Strangpressen Alkalikarbonate benutzt, die vor ihrer Verwendung einer Wärmebehandlung unterzogen worden sind. Das Verfahren wird beispielsweise bei der Rohrherstellung wie folgt durchgeführt j Die glühenden, gelochten Blöcke werden aus dem Ofen genommen und zunächst in Sodapulver gewälzt, welches zuvor auf eine Temperatur von etwa 3000G erhitzt worden ist, um deren Außenfläche mit einer Sodaschicht zu vergehen. In die Bio olcbohrung wird etwas Soda gegeben und in den Aufnehmer eis gesinterter Sodaring Ton etwa 600 g gelegt. Bei dieser Arbeit·-

weise sind die Blöcke vom Austritt aus der reduzierenden Atmosphäre im Wärmofen bis zum Preßvorgang etwa 1 Minute mit Luft in Berührung. Wenn auch die Verzunderung durch die Anwendung von Soda beträchtlich herabgesetzt wird, so kann sie doch in manchen Fällen noch so groß sein, daß die Haltbarkeit der Preßwerkzeuge beeinträchtigt wird. Manchmal sind auch Zunderansammlungen auf den Stahlblöcken festzustellen, die zu unerwünschten Oberflächenfehlern führen können. Es besteht somit die Aufgabe, die Verzunderung auf dem Weg der Blöcke vom Ofen bis zum Verpressen weiter herabzusäbzen« .
Erfindungsgemäß wird dem aus Natrium- und/oder Kaliumkarbonat bestehenden Schmiermittel für die Schmierung des Blockes, des Preßdornes und/oder der Matrize vor seiner Wärmehehandlung eine kleine Menge Magnesiumoxydpulver zugemischt. Bei Anwendung von Natriumkarbonat beträgt die Magnesiumoxyd-Konzentration 2-7 $>, vornehmlich 5 #» von Kaliumkarbonat 7-12 #, vornehmlich 9 Ί»·
Mit dem trfindungegemäßen Verfahren wird erreicht, daß die Verzunderung der Blöcke wesentlich herabgesetzt wird. Sie beträgt nur noch «twa 1/5 bis 1/6 dee Werte·, der bei Anwendung eines aus Alkaliumkarbonaten bestehenden Sohmiermittele ohne Magne-•iuaoxyd-Zueatz erzielt wird. Sie· ist aur Hauptsache darauf zurückzuführen, daß sich auf der Oberfläche der glühenden Stählblöoke unter der geaohmolaenen Karbonattchicht ein fegO» * MgO ·* Spinell bildet.     Verfahren zum Herstellen eines aus Natrium- und/oder Kaliumkarbonat bestehenden Schmiermittels zum Schmieren beim Strangpressen von Stahlblöcken nach Patent «... (Patentanmeldung H 60 373 IVc/23c)f
