Description
Transport rollers facing each other in pairs, especially in vertical continuous casting plants, which are arranged at a certain distance below the mold, once have the task of Starting piece, the so-called driving bolt, to hold the bottom of the mold at the beginning of the casting forms. On the other hand, with their help, the lowering speed of the strand is in accordance with the casting speed is regulated. They also hold that as the casting progresses from the mold exiting strand. In order to fulfill these tasks, these roles must have a certain contact pressure lie against the still warm strand and thus often cause undesirable deformations of the cross-section and possibly also a curvature of the still plastic, expiring strand. she must therefore in view of the strength of the strand shell at a minimum distance from the lower Be arranged edge of the mold and thus influence the height of the system and the length of the Start-up bolts, which must be retracted at the start of casting and must be of the appropriate length. One has already between the lower edge of the mold and the aforementioned roles in a special one Rollers arranged on the stand are provided, which should also rest on the strand to create bulges to prevent the plastic strand shell from being affected by the ferrostatic pressure of the still liquid Kernes can be caused and under certain circumstances lead to cracks in the skin of the cord. This one Rolls also rest on the strand with considerable pressure and with regard to their axis position must be spaced apart, they may also cause Deformations and offer no guarantee that not between the lower edge of the mold and the upper Roller pair or bulges occur between the individual roller pairs that are not only carry the risk of breakthroughs, but also endanger the further course of the casting.
Die zur Anlage am Strang gebrachten Platten sind relativ dünn, so daß die Kühlung durch Aufspritzen desOne has also already below the mold and separated from it with the axis of the strand parallel running rods or plates are provided, which rest flexibly and steadily on the strand under spring pressure. Sleeve-like mold approaches that encompass the strand have also been recommended. The cooling of the strand below the mold takes place through the spaces between the rods as well also through the rods themselves, which are hollow and equipped with a coolant inlet and outlet. the Plates brought to bear on the strand are relatively thin, so that the cooling is achieved by spraying the

These known devices have the disadvantage that they the sliding distance of the strand or the Enlarge the friction surface and thus require an increased expenditure of force for its removal on the However, the lowering movement itself does not exert any influence and also does not counteract bulges can.
Derartige Vorrichtungen sind jedoch nurMovable, shaping and cooling elements have already become known in the strand lowering direction, which, lying on the strand, took off again after having covered a certain distance and are carried up and again serve to form the strand or for further heat dissipation are in contact with the strand. So is a continuous casting process for Light metals have been proposed in which two are made up of two collapsible parts Chill molds with the help of appropriate devices alternately in one adapted to the casting speed Rhythm brought up to a fixed casting location, there closed, with liquid material more or less filled and then encompassing and cooling the strand that is being formed move down with this.
