An trieb.
Process for casting strands on rental premises, especially light metal. The present invention relates to a method for casting strands of metal, in particular light metal. It consists in that the metal is poured into a mold, which consists of at least two stacked casting molds without a bottom, that depending on the filling, another is placed on the upper mold and that the lower one, in which the metal has already solidified is removed. Appropriately, the form removed at the bottom is put back on top.
This measure is repeated until the strand has the desired length or no more metal is to be replenished.
The molds that form the mold are advantageously provided with inclined surfaces on the upper and lower edges so that when they are placed on top of one another, their edges partially interlock and are secured against lateral displacement. It can also be advisable to provide the inner wall of the mold with one or more grooves or the like running perpendicular to the axis, so that the solidified cast body cannot fall out of the bottom of the mold.
So that the forms can be removed below without having to be pulled out to the lower end of the elongated casting, they are expediently made of parts, simply from two parts, formed, the z.
B. have the shape of cylinder halves. This part pieces are advantageously provided with handles or the like. So that the filling point always remains at the same height, the mold formed by the molds can be held in such a guide device, which ensures that the mold is evenly lowered when changing the molds (i.e. when removing the lower mold and putting this or another mold on the upper form) enables.
A guide device is advantageous because of the easier removal of the lower forms. The mold is best placed vertically; it is of course also possible to arrange them at an angle.
In the accompanying drawing, examples are from the next. dem -'erfahren also the subject of the invention form the device for performing the method shown.
Fig. 1 shows three forms a, placed one on top of the other, which are provided with handles b and form the mold. On their upper and lower edges, they are provided with: Inclined surfaces c and d, which hold them in the desired position. They have grooves e on the inside. The metal is poured from the crucible f into the mold and the casting g protrudes out below.
As soon as. the upper mold is filled with metal, another mold is put on and the lower one removed. Instead of taking a fresh form, it is of course possible.
the lower mold without putting on. Particularly in the case of large cross-sections, it is advantageous to use the part of the cast piece protruding at the bottom, e.g. B. to cool with @ Ära.sserstra.hl, whereby it is also avoided that the molds get too warm.
Fig. \? shows a shape a in plan view. As can be seen, viewed. they: into two semi-cylindrical parts that are here with. with and spring interlock.
The method according to the invention can be carried out with the device illustrated by Fig. 1 and 2 easily by the same casters who produce the usual ingots, <la die Ilandlialiuie <"- the device is very simple. The metal can be made directly from the Crucibles can be poured into the mold, with larger cross-sections of the cast body, e.g.
B. in ingot casting, but it is recommended to introduce the metal into the die using the funnel shown in Fig. 3. The metal can also be pneumatic in a known manner. Pressure are transferred into the mold.
Fig. 4 shows. schematically, as an example. an automatic machine to carry out the procedure. In two opposite lands. Lot of right-hand columns (which are not shown) run slide 1 to each of which a two-part mold 2, a hydraulic pressure cylinder 3 for opening and closing the mold, and a rack 4 are attached.
The lowering movement of the slide 1 is inevitably drircl. a common and self-locking, electromechanical .. drive. The speed can be set to any speed within wide limits. The slides are connected to the common drive by an electromagnetic clutch 5 each.
: 1n place. the electromagnetic köruife also has a friction clutch installed, which is operated by a servo motor or a T> remslüfimagnei; becomes.
With a friction clutch, the torque is transmitted. in contrast to electro-magnetic cooling. by Wirkurig eiric,
<hm @ or @ ouiotor opposite 11ebelgewichles or ehirch effect of the core weight5 (1 es Brenisliif'tmagnetes. This has the advantage that the apparatus stops immediately in the event of a stroke.
This is not the case, however, when the electromagnetic clutch is reversed; in the event of a power failure, see the two forms lower down to the lowest point. So that the whole machine comes to a standstill immediately when the electromagnetic clutch is used, throttle slide 7 are arranged in the inlet and outlet line 6 for the pressurized water in the exemplary embodiment, which are actuated by a small solenoid, not shown, and throttle both lines.
The upward movement of the sliding carriage 1 takes place through independent hydraulic pressure cylinders B. The hydraulic pressure cylinders are controlled. Druckzylin the 3 and 8 is accomplished with the help of small compressed air valves 9, 10, 11 and 12, the water inlet and water outlet rotary valve 13 and 14 are connected.
The electromagnetic clutches a are operated by switches 15 and 16. In order to reduce the torque of the electromagnetic clutch 5, the two movable machine halves are relieved by counterweights, not shown.
Both drive sides work in accordance with one another. When in each case the lower of the superimposed and inevitably sliding downward forms has reached a certain lowest position, the compressed air valve 9 is actuated. As a result, the rotary valve 14 is switched over and the hydraulic pressure cylinder 3 of the opening and closing device of the mold is put into action so that the mold opens.
At the same time, the upper mold, into which one is pouring, is locked against any opening by means of sliding guides, not shown. This prevents liquid metal from flowing out of the upper mold.
Although the closing water pressure acts constantly on the pressure cylinder 3, a lock is nevertheless recommended. Before the end position of the opening shape, the compressed air valve 11, which acts on the rotary slide 13, is actuated. the pressurized water line to the hydraulic cylinder 8 opens and the circuit of the electromagnetic clutch 5 is interrupted by means of switch 15.
As a result, the slide with the mold is released and the hydraulic pressure cylinder 8 lifts it back into its starting position with the open mold. When lifting the slide carriage is at a certain height below the starting position of the circuit by means of the adjustable slide rail 17 by the switch 16 at a second point interrupted.
A compressed air valve 10 attached in the starting position controls the rotary valve 14 and the hydraulic locking cylinder 3 closes the mold. Before the mold is completely closed, the compressed air valve 12 is actuated, which on the one hand closes the pressurized water line through the rotary valve 13 and on the other hand releases the electrical switch 15 so that the circuit of the electromagnetic clutch is closed again at the first interruption point .
Due to the preponderance of the chosen shape, it sits slightly on the lower shape, then closes the circuit of the electromagnetic clutch through the switch 16 and thereby inevitably connects the sliding slide again with the common drive. The two shapes now move downwards together until the opposite shape has also reached the lowest position and then carries out all the movements described above.
The controls for the shape shown on the left are the same as for the shape on the right.
Instead of the hydraulic cylinders 8 and 3, compressed air cylinders could also be used, and the control of the machine could remain as described above.
It may be advantageous to use water, compressed air, or some other means to cool the molds. It is up to you to regulate the temperature of the molds within wide limits as desired.
The process is best suited for the casting of light metal, for example aluminum and aluminum alloys, but also magnesium and magnesium alloys, among other things especially for the casting of extrusion bolts or the like from automatic or similar alloys, which have a pronounced tendency to be like to have.
The length of the cast strand can be any; of course, it is limited by the space available under the mold. It can be advantageous to separate the strand from time to time under the mold.
When casting begins, it goes without saying that the mold is initially closed at the bottom. This can be done in any way, for example by placing a metal plate or some other suitable material between two molds that form the mold, or by closing the lower opening of the lower mold with such a plate. Among other things, the new method offers the large ones Advantage that in the longitudinal direction there is no relative movement between the strand and the mold during solidification.
