Description
DEUTSCHES
Es ist bekannt, daß man Schaumkautschuk herstellen kann, indem man die Kautschukmilch mit Wasserstoffperoxyd
und Sauerstoff abspaltenden Katalysatoren, wie z. B. Hefe, versetzt. Schon bei Raumtemperatur scheidet
das Wasserstoffperoxyd Sauerstoff ab, der die Kautschukmilch zu einem Schaum auftreibt. Zur Erzielung eines
stabilen und standfesten Schaumes müssen der Kautschukmilch oder ihrer vulkanisationsfähigen Mischung
Schaumstabilisatoren, bei denen es sich z. B. um Produkte seifenartiger Natur handelt, zugesetzt werden. Die
Koagulation des Schaumes wird dadurch herbeigeführt, daß man den Schaum auf Temperaturen von —10 bis
—3O0C einfriert und gegebenenfalls durch den eingefrorenen
Schaum Kohlendioxyd bläst. Es tritt so eine irreversible Koagulation ein. Der koagulierte Schaum
wird nunmehr auf die Vulkanisationstemperatur von 100 bis 12O0C erwärmt. Die Vulkanisation erfolgt bei
dieser Temperatur je nach Art der verwendeten Vulkanisationsbeschleuniger innerhalb von 20 bis 40 Minuten.
Die Schwierigkeit bei diesem Verfahren besteht darin, ein Zusammenfallen des Schaumes während des relativ
langsamen und von außen her vor sich gehenden Gefrierprozesses zu verhindern. Bei Verwendung der üblichen
Schaumstabilisatoren, wie Seifen, z. B. Natriumoleat, Natriumrizinoleat, Kaliumstearat (auch die entsprechenden
Ammoniumsalze werden angewandt), oder synthetischen Seifen, wie Alkylarylsulfonate und Alkylsulfonate,
tritt infolge ihrer geringen kältestabilisierenden Wirkung während des Einfrierprozesses ein teilweises Zusammenfallen
— zumeist im Innern — des Schaumes ein, wodurch eine ungleichmäßige und inhomogene Struktur im
Schaumkautschukvulkanisat erhalten wird.
Es wurde gefunden, daß sich Fettsäureester von Di- und Oligosacchariden sehr gut zum Stabilisieren von
Kautschukmilchschäumen von natürlichem und synthetischem Kautschuk eignen. Sie verhindern ein Zusammenfallen
des Schaumes während des allmählich von außen nach innen vor sich gehenden Einfrierprozesses, und man
erhält durch Zusatz dieser Produkte auch bei langsam vor sich gehendem Einfrierprozeß Schäume von gleichmäßiger
und homogener Porenstruktur.
Bevorzugte Zuckerfettsäureester sind z. B. Saccharoselaurat, Saccharosemonopalmitat, Saccharosemonomyristat,
Raffinosemonolaurat und Raffmosemyristat. Besonders geeignet sind Fettsäuren mit 8 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
vorzugsweise 12 bis 16 Kohlenstoffatomen.
Die Zuckerfettsäureester werden der Kautschukmilch in den für Stabilisatoren üblichen Mengen zugesetzt,
z. B. in Mengen von 0,5 bis 1,5 °/0, vorzugsweise von 0,8
bis 1,0 °/0, bezogen auf Kautschuktrockensubstanz.
Außer Dispersionen von natürlichem Kautschuk können auch solche von synthetischen kautschukähnlichen
Polymerisaten verwendet werden, wie sie z. B. erhalten werden aus konjugierten Diolefinen, wie z. B. Butadien,

Dimethylbutadien, Isopren, und ihren Homologen und Mischpolymerisaten von derartig konjugierten Diolefinen
mit polymerisierbaren Vinylverbindungen, wie z. B. Styrol, α-Methylstyrol und ihre Substitutionsprodukte,
Acrylsäurenitril, Methacrylsäurenitril und ähnliche Polymerisate oder Mischpolymerisate, die aus Isoolefinen,
wie z. B. Isobutylen und seinen Homologen, gegebenenfalls mit geringen Mengen konjugierter Diolefine, erhalten
werden. Weiterhin sind auch die Dispersionen von solchen Polymerisaten geeignet, die aus Chlorbutadien oder dessen
Mischpolymerisaten mit Mono- und/oder Diolefinen oder polymerisierbaren Vinylverbindungen erhalten werden.
Diese Dispersionen können weiterhin die üblichen Zusätze, wie z. B. Füllstoffe, enthalten.

sulfosaurem Natrium und Formaldehyd, gibt man 6 bis 12 Teile einer 10%igen wäßrigen Lösung
von Saccharosemonolaurat sowie 0,5 bis 1 Teil Hefe, welche 10%ig in Wasser aufgeschlämmt wurde, und
50 bis 80 Teile einer 10%igen Hydroperoxydlösung.
Sofort nach Zugabe des Hydroperoxyds wird die Kau-

tschukmilchmischung in eine Form gegeben, worin durch die Sauerstoffabspaltung die Schaumbildung vor sich
geht. Der in der Form befindliche Schaum .wird auf -10 bis -300C abgekühlt. Während des Abkühlprozesses
tritt kein Schaumzerfall der obigen Mischung ein, wie dies bei Verwendung anderer Seifen beobachtet
wird. Der Schaum koaguliert homogen durch. Es wird, wie üblich, erwärmt und vulkanisiert.
b) An Stelle des Saccharosemonolaurats kann auch die gleiche Menge Saccharosemynstat oder des Umsetzungs-Produktes
von Laurinsäuretriglycerid mit Saccharose oder Raffinose verwendet werden.
c) An Stelle des Saccharosemonolaurats kann auch das Umsetzungsprodukt von Saccharose mit Dilaurylglycolester
verwendet werden.
