Abstract
Proceso para separar Co de Ni en una solución acuosa y que la solución que contiene Ni y Co se somete a extracción y en la extracción se utilizan diferencias cinéticas entre el Ni y el Co con el fin de conseguir al menos una separación parcial de Co de Ni. Este se lleva a cabo controlando la duración de la extracción de modo que se extrae una parte principal de Co y una parte menor de Ni de la solución para producir un extractante cargado, enriquecido con Co y empobrecido de Ni en comparación con la solución de alimentación y un refinado empobrecido de Co conteniendo Ni. En otra realización, la invención utiliza diferencias cinéticas entre el Ni y el Co durante la destilación para llevar a cabo la separación del Ni y el Co. El extractante cargado puede ser sometido a operaciones de destilación colectiva o destilación selectiva para obtener soluciones de Co y de Ni de las que se pueden recuperar Ni y Co. El proceso de la invención se puede incorporar en un proceso hidrometalúrgico para la extracción de Ni y/o Co de un mineral o concentrado conteniendo Ni y Co.
