Abstract

Se refiere a un metodo de recuperacion de cobre y uno o mas metales preciosos a partir un mineral o concentrado de sulfuro que contiene cobre que comprende lixiviar un mineral y/o concentrado que contiene cobre bajo condiciones atmosfericas y/o ligeramente presurizadas a una temperatura debajo del punto de ebullicion de la solucion de lixiviacion en una solucion de acido sulfurico en presencia de uno o mas haluros de metal alcalino o metal alcalinoterreo, con lo cual la concentracion total de haluro es de 30 a 115 gIL, para disolver cobre y para obtener un licor de lixiviacion que comprende cobre, especias de azufre, y haluros en solucion. EI licor de lixiviacion se somete luego a una separacion solido-liquido despues de lo cual se obtiene una primera solucion cargada de lixiviacion acuosa y un residuo de lixiviacion agotado de cobre. EI cobre se purifica mediante extraccion por solvente de la primera solucion cargada de lixiviacion acuosa para obtener una primera solucion organica cargada que contiene cobre y un primer refinado acuoso. La solucion organica cargada que contiene cobre se separa y el cobre se recupera de una solucion de separacion que contiene cantidades de traza de cloruros
