Abstract

本申请要求2002年5月2日提交、申请号为60/377,448的美国专利临时申请的优先权。
技术领域
本发明涉及一捆扎带,尤其涉及一根三件式金属捆扎带,它利用一滚子装置作为锁定机构。
背景技术
自从十九世纪以来已采用带有锁定球和滚子销的金属捆扎装置来捆扎棉包等。没有一个现有装置是可靠锁定的,即依赖于锁定头的定向,重力使该球脱开与该带的锁定啮合,以造成松驰。美国专利4,399,592通过附加一升起部分或突起、用于在插入的带子走出锁定头时使插入的带子偏离底板来解决这问题。这偏离保证锁定球连续地啮合于插入的带子,而与球的位置或锁定头的定向无关。
希望提供一种具有提高的拉伸强度的捆扎带。
还希望提供一种在锁定头的内侧上具有一较陡的斜面的捆扎带,该带子产生较快的锁定和一较紧的捆扎。
发明内容
本发明揭示了一金属捆扎带。该捆扎带包括一细长金属带、一金属锁定头和金属滚子装置。带子有一第一端和与第一端相对的一第二端。头部固定于带子的第一端,用于收置带子的第二端。头部包括一带子入口面、一带子出口面和在这两面之间延伸的一带子收置孔。头部还包括沿出口面方向发散开的一底板和一拱顶。金属滚子装置锁定地啮合带子,头部包括靠近出口面设置的、用于将滚子装置捕获地保持在头部内的保持装置。滚子装置可在一插入位置和一锁定位置之间移动,在插入位置滚子装置设置成靠近出口面和保持装置,在锁定位置滚子装置靠近入口面。从一点沿着平顶到处在插入位置中的滚子装置的中心的距离对滚子装置的直径之比小于1.7。

具体实施方式
图示的本发明实施例涉及利用一滚子装置作为一锁定机构的一根三件式捆扎带。
现在参阅附图,用于捆扎多个细长物体、例如金属丝20和用于将诸物体保持在一起的一捆扎带在图1中总地用标号“22”示出。捆扎带22包括固定于一细长带子28的第一端26、用于收置带子28的第二端30的一锁定头24;以及如图5-9最清楚显示的、呈一球或球体32形式的、用于保持住锁定头24内的带子28的滚子装置。球、锁定头和带子最好是由不锈钢形式,以允许该带子用于一广泛的温度范围内,并使带子具有较高的强度和优良的抗腐蚀的能力。此外,如本领域所知,带子28是可以带复盖层的。
通过组装锁定头24、带子28和如图3所示与带子28形成一体的一钩子部34形成本发明的捆扎带。参阅图2、3和5,锁定头24包括一拱顶36、一平顶38和一底壁40,由一对侧壁42连接平顶38和底壁40。
如图5,7和8所示,锁定头24包括一带子入口面44、一带子出口面46和在这两面之间延伸的一带子收置孔48。拱顶36和底板50沿出口面方向发散开。球32具有纹理的或粗糙的表面,以增加与带子28的摩擦系数。球36被保持装置捕获地保持在拱顶36和底板50之间,保持装置包括在出口面46附近从拱顶36朝底板50延伸的一指状体52。拱顶36的一端在入口面44附近连接平顶38,并带有连接拱顶36和平顶38的其它部分的分开的两侧翼54。
锁定球32可在一插入位置和一锁定位置之间移动;如图5所示,在插入位置球32被设置成在出口面46附近并接合于指状体52;如图7所示,在锁定位置球32靠近入口面44,并牢固地接合于插入的带子28。在它的插入位置,球32同时接合于指状体52和拱顶36。
在操作时,如图10所示,带子28裹绕在被捆扎的诸物件的周围之后,将尖端56插入锁定头。连续插入带子28使在锁定头24被保持的任何角度时带子28和球32能彼此可靠地接合。在带子28被拉紧和放松之后,锁定球32移动到它的锁定位置,如图7所示,在该位置带子28被加压地保持在球32和底板50之间。
如图5所示,锁定头24具有从在一位置58处平顶38沿拱顶38延伸的一连续倾斜的斜面。增加在锁定头24的内侧上的斜面的陡度就减小了带子的移动量,从而实现对球32的快速锁定。其结果,球锁定位置较靠近锁定头24的中心,这样增加了锁定头24的强度。斜面陡度是用从在点58处的平顶38至插入位置中的锁定球32的中心的距离(B)对锁定球32的直径(D)的比值来测量的。如图4所示,在现有技术的捆扎带中,从平顶至插入位置中的锁定球的中心的距离(A)为0.22英寸,锁定球的直径(D1)为0.125英寸。从而A对D1的比值为1.76。相反,在图5中,从在点58处的平顶38至插入位置中的锁定球32的中心的距离(B)为0.195英寸,锁定球32的直径(D2)为0.125英寸。这样,B对D2的比值为1.56。
图7(以虚线)示出的是,按照现有技术,球32从它的插入位置到它的锁定位置的运动。图4示出的现有技术锁定头重叠在图5的锁定头24之上(见虚线)。在现有技术的实施形态中,在锁定时期球运动了距离C。但是,如图7所示,本发明的锁定球32在锁定时期运动了一较短的距离D。通常,在锁定球32从它的插入位置运动到它的锁定位置时,带子28运动了约为锁定球32的运动距离的两倍。这样,减小在锁定时期球32运动的距离就较大地减小了带子28运动的距离,以及提高了金属带的性能。图8示出了朝其锁定位置运动的锁定球32,图9示出了图9的锁定球的横剖面图。
如图10和11所示,锁定头24包括在带子入口面44处的导入部分60。导入部分60方便了头端56最初插入锁定头24内,减少了用于插入捆扎带22的安装时间。导入部分60增强锁定头24的顶部。如图11最清楚所示,带子28接触导入部分60和带子28朝底板50偏移。
所揭示的发明提供了利用一滚子装置作为锁定机构的一捆扎带。应该指出,本发明的上述和图示的实施例以及较佳实施例不是按照本发明可以采取的一捆孔带的唯一形式,为了便于理解,它们用作为本发明的示例性和说明性的实施例。相信存有本发明的许多其它形式。

Claims (6)

1.一捆扎带,它包括:
具有一第一端和与第一端相对的一第二端的一细长金属带子;
固定于带子的第一端的一金属锁定头,用于接收带子的第二端,该锁定头包括一带子入口面、一带子出口面和在这两面之间延伸的一带子收置孔,该锁定头还包括沿出口面方向发散开的一底板和一拱顶;以及
用于锁定地接合于带子的金属滚子装置,该滚子装置有一中心和一直径,锁定头包括靠近出口面设置的、用于将滚子装置捕获地保持在锁定头内的保持装置;
滚子装置可在一插入位置和一锁定位置之间移动,在插入位置滚子装置设置成靠近出口面和保持装置,在锁定位置滚子装置靠近入口面;
其中,从一点沿一平顶到处于插入位置的滚子装置的中心的距离对滚子装置的直径的比值小于1.7。
2.如权利要求1的捆扎带,其特征在于,带子是可带复盖层的。
3.如权利要求1的捆扎带,其特征在于,带子和锁定头由不锈钢制成。
4.如权利要求1的捆扎带,其特征在于,锁定头还包括在入口面处的一导入部分。
5.如权利要求1的捆扎带,其特征在于,保持装置包括靠近出口面从拱顶延伸的一指状体。
6.如权利要求1的捆扎带,其特征在于,滚子装置是一球。
