Abstract

Description
背景技术及发明概述
随着无源RFID(射频标识器)货签(没有电池电源)的出现,使用RF货签的价位已经从先前有源货签的价位下降许多(从$3.00-$10.00下降到$0.50-$1.00)。随着这种新的无源技术的发展,无源RF货签的价位将可能达到$0.10的价位。随着价格下降,许多市场上可买到的零售商品将最终通过将无源货签嵌进产品(具有读/写能力)或以生产工艺的正常部分的方式进行包装来生产,从而使得RFID系统应用能够大规模扩大。
首批使用无源RFID货签的工业部门之一是快递业,例如DHL、UPS、FedEx等公司。现在,这些公司需要一种形成并且固定在包装上的高质量、条形码包装标签,它显示出例如发货人标识、目的地、运送数目等。然后经常扫描这些条形码标签,以随着其交货周期分拣和跟踪该包装。通常这些标签是通过设在它们的用户场所处或设在它们的发货仓库处的热敏标签印刷机生产出的。在这些运送公司中可以看到RFID技术作为一种光学扫描条形码的替代技术。目前,这些公司正在测试无源RFID技术以替代光学扫描条形码,包括无源RFID技术,该技术涉及具有由热敏印刷机产生出的压敏标签,该热敏印刷机在印刷包装标签的同时对该RF片(嵌进标签中)编码。
一旦RF片成本变得更低,则它们将最终结合进零售商品自身中。例如,当生产计算机时,制造商将把RF片嵌进包含有生产数据等保证信息的框架中。然后当该标签在视觉上形成有发货地址时运送公司(例如UPS、DHL等)使用发射到包装上的无线电信号用相关的运送信息(用于分拣和跟踪目的)将该片编码。由于这个通常在包装货签上的条形码将不必用于扫描或分拣包装,所以在包装货签上所必须作的唯一事情就是可阅读的地址。因此,可以采用一种成本更低的系统来代替当前包装贴标签系统(具有RF发射器的热敏货签印刷机)。该系统可以是一种装配有射频发射器的小型喷墨印刷系统。然后该喷墨系统能在包装上直接印刷发货地址,从而消除了贴热敏标签的必要。目前,需要标签提供一种用于条形码或用来作为RF片的载体的高质量表面。
喷墨系统不必是高质量的,其只是产生出可阅读的地址,例如当前用来在罐装物品、瓶子等产品上印刷生产日期的普通非接触喷墨系统。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种处理产品的方法,包括:(a)将普通RFID货签安装在产品中;(b)将具有RFID的产品装在包装中;(c)使人们可阅读的地址信息直接形成在包装上;以及(d)用运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个对RFID货签进行编码。
通常,(c)和(d)采用例如一种印刷机和RF发射器的组合来同时进行。由于地址信息不必是可机读的,所以通常(c)可以采用一种低分辨率的喷墨印刷机或其它低分辨率的印刷机(即,分辨率小于200dpi)来进行。优选的是,实施(a)和(d),从而在包装上没有提供任何具有运送或跟踪信息的标签,并且实际上该包装基本上根本没有标签。通常,使用一种无源RFID货签进行(a),但是也可以使用一种有源货签(每个都具有电池)。
本发明还涉及一种由如上所述的方法生产出的包装。根据本发明的另一个方面,提供一种包装产品,它包括带有其中编码有运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个的普通RFID货签(即一种无源RFID货签)的产品。本发明提供一种包装该产品并且具有外部表面的包装,从包装的外部表面可以看到人们可阅读的地址或跟踪标识。
在根据本发明的包装中,人们可阅读的标识可以基本上直接形成在包装外表面上。或者,它可以形成在最终可以从包装的外面阅读出的嵌入物中,例如一种简单的纸片嵌入物,它在该产品被包装在塑料或带窗口的包装中时是可见的,或者甚至会提供在低质量货签上,尽管根据本发明的期望完全不考虑货签的成本。人们可阅读的标识可以是低分辨率(例如,低于200dpi)的地址标识,或其它低分辨率的跟踪或运送信息。优选的是,该包装基本上没有具有RFID技术的标签,或者没有带有运送或跟踪标识的标签。
根据本发明的另一个方面,提供一种包装具有RFID货签(即无源RFID货签)的产品的方法。该方法包括:(a)将具有RFID货签的产品包装在包装中;(b)形成人们可阅读的地址,从而可以从包装的外面看到它;并且(c)用运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个对RFID货签进行编码。该方法的细节如上所述,例如(b)和(c)可以基本上同时地进行。
本发明的主要目的在于提供一种简单而有效的方法以及允许以廉价的方式方便且精确地运送和跟踪产品的包装。从本发明的详细说明的观察中以及从附属的权利要求中将更明白本发明的上述和其它目的。

附图的详细说明
在图1中以盒状形式显示出有利于产品的简单精确且廉价的运送和跟踪的示例性方法。在该说明书中,术语“产品”可以涵盖所要运送的带有正常的功能或装饰目的的物品。非限定性的例子包括计算机设备,家具物品、仪器、艺术品、制成品、包括贵金属在内的原材料等。
根据图1中大致所示的方法,如由盒子10所示,在产品中安装有一种普通的RFID货签-例如无源RFID货签。美国专利5,776,278和5,218,343(这些专利的公开内容在这里被引用作为参考)给出了能够结合进产品中的普通RFID货签(虽然它们优选是包含有电池的有源货签)。该RFID货签具有读/写能力。但是,该RFID货签可以以任意方式与产品相联系。例如,它可以安装在产品外壳中,例如在便携式电脑或其它计算机设备或仪器的情况下。或者,它可以与原材料混合,它可以标签的形式贴在产品上,它可以贴在产品的辅助包装上,等等。RFID货签安装在产品中的正确方式不是严格的,可以是对于特定产品适用的任意方法。
在图1中大致由盒子11所示的根据本发明的接下来的步骤是将产品放进包装中。术语“包装”表示纸箱、收缩性薄膜包装塑料、包裹、金属运送容器、板条箱或任意其它合适的用来包装产品的普通结构,从而有利于其处理、运送和/或跟踪。
在步骤11之后,如由图1中的盒子12和13所示一样,将标识形成在包装上,并且用运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个对RFID进行编码。通常步骤12、13基本上是同时通过例如利用具有内装的RF发射器的喷墨或类似的印刷机进行的,它们都是由计算机控制的。印刷机/RF发射器的组合被显示在图1中的14处,同时在15处大致地显示出合适的计算机控制。通常,RFID货签会具有其它与产品相关的信息,例如在RFID中提供有计算机生产数据、序列号、编码信息等。RF发射器14加入运送数据和/或跟踪数据,并且普通RF传感器/阅读器(未示出)可以也与计算机15连接,以便使运送和/或跟踪数据与RFID片的其它数据一致。
虽然可以把有源RFID货签安装在产品中,但是优选采用无源RFID货签来代替。
虽然在实施本发明中,准确的成像处理器设备不是重要的,但是优选采用一种分辨率相对低的技术,例如一种其分辨率大约为200dpi或更小的喷墨印刷机,例如一般用来在罐装物品、瓶子等上印刷生产数据的那种类型。
这样,在实施本发明中所采用的包装结构可以更广泛,而不必改变印刷系统或方法。
虽然对于成本节约目的来说,优选将人们可阅读的标识基本上直接形成在包装上,如由图1中的盒子12所示一样,但在某些情况下,或者在成本不是重要的刺激因素的情况中,可以将人们可阅读的标识(可以是地址、运送、跟踪和/或类似标识)形成在设在包装中的嵌入物上(并且最终可以从包装的外面看到,例如通过收缩性薄膜包装塑料、包装中的窗口等),或者可以将这种标识形成在随后附着在包装上的低质量货签上。在图1中的17处大致地显示出这些可选的方法。
本发明还涉及一种由如上所述的方法生产出的产品,以及一种包装产品本身。
在图2中的20处大致地显示出根据本发明的一种示例性的包装产品。在该情况下,大致在21处所示的产品是一种便携式计算机。但是,如前面所示的一样,该产品实际上可以包括所要运送和/或跟踪的任何东西,例如仪表、制成品、松散材料、家具、艺术品等。产品21具有安装在其中的RFID货签22。在图2中所示的具体实施例中,RFID货签22(可以是一种无源货签)实际上嵌在产品21中。当然,根据所要求的产品或技术,RFID货签22可以贴有标签,可以松散地放在产品中,可以与流体产品混合或可以通过任意其它合适的普通方式附着产品上。
具有RFID货签22的产品21装在大致在图2中的23处所示的包装内。图2显示出包装23呈具有多个折翼的普通硬纸盒或纸板箱的形式,将所述折翼关闭并密封(例如用胶带、U形钉等)以完全封住包装产品。仅仅为了说明清楚,在纸板箱23的一个端部上的面板或折翼24显示出是打开的,并且产品21如箭头25所示插进打开的包装23中。但是,根据本发明,怎样包装产品21或者包装包括有什么并不重要。包装23可以是板条箱、包裹、包装桶或任意其它有利于处理、运送和/或跟踪的结构。
图2还显示出人们可阅读的标识,在该实施例中它呈地址信息27的形式,该信息直接形成在包装23上(例如通过普通的低分辨率喷墨印刷机)。RFID货签22具有被编码在其中的运送和/或跟踪数据,该数据与人们可阅读的标识27有联系。
在使用中,通过任意合适的渠道并且在各个地方(包括原产地、目的地和任意的转运地)运送包装产品20。普通的RF阅读器/接收器(未示出)移进包装产品20附近正确的地方,从而读取被编码在RFID货签22中的运送和/或跟踪数据,并且在这些数据的基础上向处理人员提供信息。处理人员可以通过观看形成在纸板箱23上的人们可阅读的标识27来检查至少部分运送和/或跟踪数据。
因此可以看出,根据本发明,提供了非常好的方法和包装,它采用了RF技术,以易于运送和/或跟踪包装好的产品,并提供以简单、廉价和有效的方式制造出的产品。尽管此处本发明已经用目前认为是最佳优选的实施例进行了描述,但是该领域技术人员可以明白,在本发明的范围内可以作出许多的改进,该范围与所附权利要求的最宽解释是一致的,以覆盖所有等价的方法和设备。
Claims (22)
1.一种处理产品的方法,包括:
(a)将RFID货签安装在产品中;
(b)将具有RFID货签的产品装在包装中;
(c)使人们可阅读的地址信息直接形成在包装上;以及
(d)用运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个对RFID货签进行编码。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,(c)和(d)基本上同时进行。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,采用喷墨印刷机来实施(c)。
4.如权利要求3所述的方法,其特征在于,实施(a)-(d),从而在包装上不提供任何带有运输和跟踪信息的标签。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,采用低分辨率印刷的方式实施(c)。
6.如权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于,采用喷墨印刷机来实施(c)。
7.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,实施(a)-(d),从而在包装上不提供任何带有运输和跟踪信息的标签。

13.一种包装产品,包括:
具有用运输和跟踪数据中的至少一种编码的RFID货签的产品;
包装所述产品并具有外表面的包装;以及
从所述外表面可见的人们可阅读的地址或跟踪标识。
14.如权利要求13所述的包装,其特征在于,所述人们可阅读的标识基本上直接形成在所述包装外表面上。
15.如权利要求14所述的包装,其特征在于,所述人们可阅读的标识是低分辨率的地址标识。
16.如权利要求14所述的包装,其特征在于,所述包装基本上没有带有RFID技术以及运送和跟踪数据中的至少一个的标签。
17.如权利要求16所述的包装,其特征在于,所述RFID货签具有跟踪和运送信息,并且其中所述包装基本上没有带有运送或跟踪标识的标签。
18.如权利要求13所述的包装,其特征在于,所述RFID货签具有跟踪和运送信息,并且其中所述包装基本上没有带有运送或跟踪标识的标签。
