Abstract

技术领域
本发明一般说来涉及诸如牙刷这样的作用于人体的振动器械,尤其是关系到逐步增加向该器械提供动力的系统,这一系统使得向该器械提供的动力,从其刚被使用时的相对较低的初始水平,经过一段选定的时间而逐步达到满额动力水平。
发明背景
在本文中所述的发明关系到作用于人体的振动器械的运行,这种振动器械具体说来包括振动牙刷。然而应当理解,本发明并不仅仅局限于这一振动牙刷。
在使用某些振动器械,具体说来包括某些振动牙刷时,最初的身体感觉可能是令人不快,甚至是不可忍受的。有些使用者对于这样的振动特别敏感,至少在刚开始时是如此。因此在有些情况下,这样的使用者限制使用这个器械,而在另一些情况下,干脆停止使用该器械。
在解决这一问题的种种尝试中,有些器械允许使用者将振动调整到可接受的水平。但是,这样一种方案从长期使用的角度看并不令人满意,因为经过一段时间,使用者常常会忘记器械并非处于满额动力;同样地,从使用者角度上说,也可能不愿增加器械的振动,使其超过某个确定点,即使为了达到最大效力,这样做是很重要的情况下,也是如此。在低于满额的动力下,器械的效力当然降低,有时这种降低还很显著。因此又非常希望这种器械工作于满额动力,以便取得满意效果。
还有一种方案,是将一个机械装置放置在器械内的一个选定位置,以此来限制器械的振动。经过一定时间后,使用者可去掉这个机械限制,使器械能以满额动力振动。但是同样地,使用者可能忘记器械正运行于较低的振动模式,并且/或者还可能不愿将限制器去掉,变换到满额动力/振动。
但是同样地,使器械工作于满额动力以取得理想效果,这一点是非常重要的。
发明内容
本发明的第一方面涉及向一个作用于人体的振动器械逐步增加动力供应的系统,它包括:根据一个驱动信号,向一个振动器械,例如牙刷,提供驱动动力的装置,例如发动机;在一个最初选定时刻,例如当振动器械被初次使用的时刻,向该器械提供低于满额动力的装置;以及根据使用者对器械选定的持续使用,使动力逐级增加,直至达到基本上满额的动力。
本发明的第二方面涉及在以电池供能的、作用于人体的振动器械中,随电池电压的降低,持续向该器械提供适当动力的系统,它包括:用于产生驱动信号,以运行一个诸如牙刷这样的振动器械的装置,它的动力来自电池,在此装置中,当电池在满额电压时,选定的驱动信号特性被初始设定为低于最佳值;监测电池输出以判定何时电池已经放电达到一个最初选定水平的装置;以及当电池电压下降到低于上述最初水平时,调整上述特性,使其趋于最佳,从而维持器械正常运行的装置。

应用本发明的最佳方案
图1表示一个引入了本发明的电池供能电动牙刷。这样一个电动牙刷可设计为能产生不同的刷洗动作,包括往复动作(前后)、左右和旋转动作,以及其它更为复杂的动作。虽然要以这样一种电动牙刷的情况对本发明加以说明,但应理解本发明并不局限于特定的某种电动牙刷,也不仅仅局限于牙刷。本发明可应用于许多振动器械,这些器械的运动或效果对于特定的一些人来说,会在使用初期令其感到不适。这类器械可包括各种按摩器械,电动剃须刀以及其它类似器械。
图1中的电动牙刷10包括有一个牙刷柄12和一个从牙刷上部16延伸出来、到牙刷头18为止的延伸臂14。臂14可以各种方式装在上部16中,它由一个马达20所带动,而马达20又由驱动器装置22所操纵,马达20和驱动器装置22都位于柄12中。驱动器装置22包括一个可充电电池和一套充电电路。马达20可采用各种形式,包括电磁式的、机械式的和/或电动机械式的。本发明的原理并不依赖于某种特定形式的马达。
通过由使用者按下和放开一个接通/关闭按钮开关26,来操作牙刷10。当不使用牙刷时,牙刷放在充电器单元28上,充电器单元28与驱动器装置22中的充电电路一起工作,为位于柄12中的电池充电。在图示的牙刷10中,当牙刷从充电器单元上取下并实际使用时,在牙刷和外部电源间没有直接的连接。
在专利号为U.S.Patent No.5,189,751,标题为“VibratingToothbrush Using a Magnetic Driver”并转让给本发明的同一受让人的专利中,说明了一种如本文上面所简述的电磁牙刷。虽然在那种装置中,马达以150-400Hz范围内的频率驱动牙刷头,但应理解,本发明的原理并不受限于某一特定的牙刷头频率;而且也不受限于某一特定的振动范围。振动范围,以及电磁牙刷的其它特定的运行特性见于U.S.Patent No.5,378,153,标题为“High Performance AcousticalCleaning Apparatus for Teeth”。本处将“751”和“153”两项专利的内容引入作为参考资料。
如上所述,在一个振动牙刷,该牙刷已在上面加以图示并说明,或其它振动器械初始的使用当中,使用者可能会感到有一点儿或者是更明显的不适,并且决定不再继续使用这个牙刷,或是以某种受益甚少或完全无益的方式来使用这个牙刷。通常的解决方案是逐步训练使用者,使其适应牙刷的振动。在本发明中,从器械第一次被使用开始,在选定次数的使用中,通过使牙刷头的动力从刚开始时较低的水平逐步依等级增加,从而使这一问题自动得到了解决。
图2展示了图1所示牙刷的运行概要方框图,其中引入了本发明的系统。在牙刷柄上的电池充电线路32由充电器单元28供电。由电池充电线路32为电池36进行充电。电池36为一个微型控制器38和一个马达驱动线路40供能,由微型控制器来控制马达驱动线路40的运行。微型控制器通过按钮开关26来关闭和接通。马达驱动线路40输出的是用于驱动马达20的驱动信号,在本例中,马达20为一个电磁马达,再由这个马达来振动装在牙刷头18上的一个臂杆机构。
在所示实施例中,微型控制器38控制马达驱动线路40的工作,从而也就控制了驱动信号,使其令马达20的动力逐步增加。在所示实施例中,这一点是通过改变从马达驱动线路40发出的驱动信号的工作循环(Duty cycle)来实现的。在满额动力时,驱动信号的工作循环约为100%;微型控制器38通过控制马达驱动线路40来提供这样的驱动信号。
但在本发明中,对于通过启动按钮26而对器械所进行的初期使用来说,经过对微型控制器的编程,使得马达驱动控制信号的工作循环相对较低,约为47%,其它的初始动力水平当然也是可以接受的。而在此后,微型控制器以若干个顺序等级,通过增加工作循环来提高动力水平。在所示实施例中,在47%工作循环的初始动力水平和最后的100%工作循环动力水平之间,共有4级动力水平,即52%、58%、65%和80%。一级水平用于最初的四次使用,其它的动力水平则每一级被使用两次。当然动力水平的级数,以及在每一级水平所重复的次数(在每次使用中)都是可以改变的。
在所示实施例中,可计为一次使用的最少时间是一分钟。如果在某一次设定的使用中,牙刷运行时间少于一分钟,则这一次特定的使用从达到训练程序的下一级动力水平(或是在同一级动力水平中使用次数的累积)的角度上说,达不到标准,不被计为一次使用。这一特点防止了在动力水平上的过早上升。
在所示实施例中,使用者还可选择完全跳过训练阶段或是训练阶段中的任一部分,使器械在满额动力上运行。使用者也可以视需要而多次重新启动训练程序。
在所示实施例中,只有当牙刷确实在充电器28上放置就位时,才能启动/停止训练程序。也就是说,通过按下接通/关闭按钮开关26两秒钟,来使其从接通转换成关闭或是相反,这样来改变训练程序的目前状态。当器械转换进入其训练程序时,牙刷会发出两个音频信号(“嘟嘟”两声)。而当训练程序被停止,则只发出一声“嘟”。当训练程序处于启动状态时,只要使用者接通器械电源,牙刷就会发出两个音频信号,以此来提醒使用者训练程序仍在工作。
训练程序在微型控制器38中执行,图3和图4表示了软件的具体执行情况,在动力启动/复位方框50,这种情况发生于牙刷电池初次充电或再充电情况下,系统被初始化,如方框52所示。在此处如果不按下接通/关闭按钮开关,则系统基本上进入静态状态或称“睡眠”状态,以使用最少的电池能量,如方框54所示。以上三个步骤的进行与器械的实际使用无关,也就是说,是在牙刷最初的充电和再充电过程中进行的。
当使用者按下接通/关闭按钮开关,如方框56所示,则在方框58处,对于是否柄,亦即牙刷,就位于充电器单元28(见图1)中,软件作出初始判定。如果牙刷实际上就是在充电器单元28中,并且接通/关闭开关未被按下满两秒钟,如方框60所示,则牙刷还会进入睡眠状态(关闭)。另一方面,当牙刷在充电器单元中,接通/关闭开关实际上也被按下达两秒钟,则牙刷训练程序的状态就被改变(变换)到其相反状态(从启动变为停止,或者反方向变换),如方框62所示。
当训练程序被改变,则判定训练程序的新状态,如方框64所示。如训练程序处于启动状态,牙刷就发出两声“嘟”,如方框66所示,而如果训练程序处于停止状态,则只发出一声“嘟”,如方框68所示。然而在两种情况下,只要柄处于充电器单元28中,牙刷此后都会关闭。
回到步骤58,如果在按下接通/关闭开关时,牙刷不在充电器单元28中,例如此时器械正在被使用,则马达驱动线路40即在其目前动力水平上接通,而无论其目前动力水平如何,如方框70所示。这样牙刷就被启动和运行了。牙刷的运行在计时器控制下进行。如果不再次按下接通/关闭开关26,马达驱动线路40就会保持其目前动力水平,直到关掉牙刷。通常,电动牙刷具有自动计时功能,这使它能在一段预设时间,例如两分钟,的运行后,自动关闭。这样一种牙刷见于U.S.Patent No.5,554,382,这项专利被转让给与本项专利相同的受让人。那项应用的内容也于此处引用,作为参考资料。
在牙刷正在运转的时间里(在到达定时之前),如果按下接通/关闭开关,如方框72所示,则马达驱动线路40即被关闭,如方框74所示。软件随后循环回到步骤71,检查是否定时已到。计时器将在略低于其定时的地方,在一段预先设定的时间内暂停计时,软件要检查是否在上述的这段预定时间中,接通/关闭开关变回为接通。如果开关变回为接通,则计时器要从暂停处恢复计时,直到达到计时器的定时为止。如果开关未变为接通,则在暂停时间已满时,计时器将被复位为其初始定时,即两分钟。
当计时器确实定时已到,软件就要判定牙刷是否处于训练程序当中,如方框76所示。如果结果为否,牙刷就会关闭;另一方面,如果牙刷处于训练模式,则软件就判定是否牙刷运行已满一分钟,如方框78所示。如果牙刷运行尚未满一分钟则关闭。而另一方面,如果牙刷已运行至少一分钟,则依等级提高动力水平,将工作循环调到下一级较高水平上,如方框80所示,或者是在同一级动力水平上进入下一个循环。如果动力水平现在为100%,如方框82所判定,则训练程序即被停止,如方框84所示。而另一方面,如果动力水平小于100%,则关闭牙刷。下一次启动牙刷时,马达驱动即会在新的动力水平上进行。
对于使用工作循环的一个替代方案是当器械为一谐振系统时,改变驱动信号的频率。初始的驱动频率与系统谐振频率具有选定数值的偏离(差距)。在训练程序中的若干级动力水平具有不同的驱动频率,在系统谐振频率上的驱动频率为100%动力水平。
在本发明的一个变化形式中,令来自马达驱动线路(见图2)的驱动信号的一个选定动力特性产生变化,以便在变化的运行条件下,特别是电池在其放电过程中,改变了输出的情况下,确保器械在基本恒定的动力输出下运行。在一个实施例中,驱动信号的工作循环根据测得的电池电压而变化。在这个实施例中,当电池电压处于满额强度时,驱动信号的工作循环小于100%,为85%,此后持续监测电池电压。当电池电压下降到一个最初等级,驱动信号的工作循环即增加一个选定数量以便维持向马达提供的所需电力水平。这一过程继续进行下去,直到驱动信号的工作循环达到100%。电池电压进一步下降,达到某一“最低”水平时,就将导致器械的运行被中断,这个“最低”水平是器械效能发生了显著降低的一点。除非为电池再充电,否则无法重新启动该器械。
在恒定动力系统的另一实施例中,改变来自马达驱动线路的驱动信号的频率以补偿电池电压的下降,如果器械是一个谐振系统的话。在这种情况下,初始驱动信号频率与系统谐振频率具有某种选定数值的偏离。随着电池的放电,使驱动频率逐步改变,令其接近并最终近似等于系统的谐振频率。在最终频率上,当电池进一步损耗,低于最低水平时,器械就会被关闭。
图5表示了这种恒定动力系统的一种基于软件的实施方案。与图3和图4相同,在动力启动/复位方框,系统被初始化,如方框92所示,然后在方框94关闭。直到在方框96,按钮接通/关闭开关被启动为止。在步骤98,判定柄是否仍在充电器单元中,如果答案为是,软件就关闭,如果不是,则在最新的工作循环和/或频率上使得马达驱动启动,如方框100所示。
随后在方框102测量电池电压;在方框103,如果电池电压低于最小值,则器械关闭;否则调整驱动信号的工作循环或频率,如方框104所示。随着达到逐级下降的电压水平,对于驱动信号特性要进行进一步调整。这一过程是通过一个预先确定的算法进行的,这一算法确定了连续下降的电池电压水平及驱动信号特性的相应数值。
在工作循环/频率被调整(或不作调整)之后,在方框106判定是否牙刷定时已到。如果定时已到,即关闭牙刷;否则在方框110判定是否已按下了接通/关闭开关。如果未按开关,则程序循环返回,在方框102测量电池电压;而如果已经按下了接通/关闭开关,则马达驱动变换(改变)到其相反状态,如方框104所示。
就这样,本文说明了一种帮助敏感型使用者,使其适应一个振动器械的振动的系统。它包括一个自动训练程序,该程序根据一个预先选定模式,从起始点到最终满额动力点,通过一系列动力水平,从而也即是振动水平,而逐步前进。此外,还说明了这样一种系统,该系统在为一个器械供应动力的电池的放电过程中,使该器械的动力水平保持不变。
虽然本文为了说明起见,详细描述了一个优选实施例,但应理解,在不背离本发明精神的情况下,可对于这样的实施例进行许许多多的改变、改进和替换。本发明由所附权利要求书所界定。

Claims (14)

1.一个对作用于人体的振动器械逐步增加动力供应的系统,包括:
根据驱动信号而为一个振动器械产生驱动动力的装置;
在一个最初选定的时间点,为所述振动器械提供小于满额的驱动动力的装置;
根据使用者对所述器械的选定的持续使用,而逐级地增加动力,直至达到基本上满额动力的装置。
2.一个如权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述的选定时间点为某个特定使用者对于所述振动器械的第一次使用。
3.一个如权利要求1所述的系统,其中的一次使用仅在超过了一个选定的时间量时,动力方可相应地增加。
4.一个如权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述振动器械为一牙刷。
5.一个如权利要求3所述的系统,包括至少三个等级的动力增加。
6.一个如权利要求1所述的系统,包括通过使驱动信号的工作循环(Duty cycle)从一个远小于100%的起始值增加到大约为100%的值,来增加动力的装置。
7.一个如权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述振动器械为一个具有一谐振频率的谐振系统,并且其中增大动力的装置包括使驱动信号的频率从与所述共振频率有差距的初始值改变到近似等于共振频率的数值的装置。

10.一个在电池电压下降情况下保持适当的动力,供给一个电池供能的振动器械的系统,所述振动器械作用于人体,所述系统包括:
由电池供能的装置,用于产生驱动信号以运行一个振动器械,其中当电池处于满额电压时,驱动信号的选定特性被初始设置为低于最佳值;
监测电池输出,以判定何时电池已放电达到一个最初选定水平的装置;以及
当电池电压下降到低于所述最初水平时,调整所述特性,使其趋近于最佳值,从而保持所述器械正常运行的装置。
11.一个如权利要求10所述的系统,包括每次电池电压值下降到低于选定的、依等级更低的水平时,改变所述特性,使其趋近于最佳值的装置。
12.一个如权利要求10所述的系统,包括当所述特性达到最佳值,并且此后电池电压降低到低于一个选定的最低水平时,停止设备运行的装置。
13.一个如权利要求10所述的系统,其中所述特性为工作循环。
14.一个如权利要求10所述的系统,其中所述特性为频率。
