具体实施方式
由诸如柔性膜或纸产品等材料形成的包装有利地被配置用于通过在多个离散位置中添加局部密封剂材料来改进密封。添加局部密封剂材料的离散位置可以位于密封区中邻近折叠部,诸如位于端部密封区中邻近侧向边缘折叠部,可以是邻近端部密封区中的翅形密封部的折叠部,或可以是邻近诸如包装的侧部或底部中的角撑的其他密封结构的折叠部。在多个离散位置中添加局部密封剂材料的优点可以结合到许多不同类型的包装中,这些包装可以任选地容纳食物,本文通过非限制性示例性实施方案描述这些包装中的一些。
如在图1中所示的流动包裹型包装10的示例可以包括一对端部密封区12和14以及在一对端部密封区之间(包括在端部密封区12和14本身中)延伸的翅形密封部16。包装材料通常具有基底层和热密封剂层。当然,基底层可以由一个或更多个层制成,热密封剂层也可以由一个或更多个层制成。通常,热密封剂层与基底层共同延伸,但它可以被图案化施加。如果替代地使用冷密封层,则其可以被图案化施加或共同延伸。虽然包装可以由膜制成,但应理解,也可以使用纸,以及其他材料或其组合。类似地,密封剂层可以是热密封剂层、冷密封剂层或其他类型的密封剂层。
为了产生常见类型的流动包裹包装,将待包装的物品(诸如一个或更多个食品)放置在材料幅材(诸如膜、纸或其组合)的一部分上,该材料幅材从一卷此类材料展开。将材料围绕物品逐步折叠,并使材料的相对的一对纵向边缘邻接在一起,其中一个边缘的热密封剂层邻接另一边缘的热密封剂层。施加热和压力以使用热密封剂层形成翅形密封部。包装的端部也可以通过施加热和压力来形成,以使用热密封剂层形成端部密封区。
在某些情况下,由于材料的面对部分之间可能出现的空隙,端部密封区中的密封部可能不具有足够的强度或完整性。特别地,已在材料中邻近折叠部处发现此类空隙。由于材料(包括其基底层和热密封剂层)的厚度和性质,因此可能难以实现在包装材料中邻近折叠部的相对材料层的完美邻接。如在常见流动包裹包装的端部密封区100的图4的示意性横截面中所示,邻近端部密封区100的折叠侧向边缘106和108可以存在空隙102和104,如在图4和图6中所示,并且邻近翅形密封区116的每一侧上的折叠部112和114可以存在空隙110,如在图4和图5中所示。虽然此类空隙102、104和110可能不位于给定包装的每个端部密封区100中,但这些空隙更可能形成在这些区中的任一个区中或形成在这些区的组合中。不利地,此类空隙102、104和110可能降低端部密封区100的完整性。
改进的流动包裹型包装10有利地被配置成减少或消除材料(特别地端部密封区12和14)中邻近折叠部的空隙。更具体地,包装包括被添加到多个离散位置的局部密封剂材料,如在图1中所示。该局部密封剂材料设置在密封剂层上,但存在于离散位置中。局部热密封剂材料的一对沉积物18和20位于端部密封区12中的一个端部密封区中在邻近包装10的侧向边缘折叠部22和24的位置处。类似地,局部热密封剂材料的一对沉积物26和28位于端部密封区14中的另一个端部密封区中在邻近包装10的侧向边缘折叠部22和24的位置处。局部热密封剂材料存在于端部密封区12中的一个端部密封区中的邻近翅形密封区16的一个或更多个沉积物30和/或32中,以及存在于端部密封区14中的另一个端部密封区中邻近翅形密封区16的一个或更多个沉积物34和/或36中。
离散位置优选地彼此间隔开,但成组的离散位置可以接合,例如,局部热密封剂材料可能以条带或其他更大分组形式存在。在形成端部密封部时,除了粘附在一起以形成密封部的邻接热密封层之外,局部密封剂材料也被充分加热以便部分或优选地填充可能邻近折叠部存在的空隙(其中热密封剂材料不邻接或不充分邻接),以便形成无空隙的密封部。因此,与在没有此类局部密封剂材料的情况下相比,可以通过填充(可以包括部分填充或完全填充)空隙来改进密封部的完整性。
如在表示图1的包装的部分的图9至图11中所示,局部密封剂材料18、20、30和32的存在可以填充可能存在于包装10的端部密封区12中的空隙。更具体地,如在图9的示意性横截面中所示,流动包裹包装10的端部密封区12具有带局部密封剂材料18、20、30和32的多个离散位置。类似地,流动包裹包装10的端部密封区14具有带局部热密封剂材料26、28、34和36的多个离散位置。如在图9中所示,邻近端部密封区12的折叠侧向边缘22和24的空隙填充有局部密封剂材料18和20。邻近另一端部密封区14的折叠侧向边缘22和24的空隙也填充有局部密封剂材料26和28。另外,在端部密封区12中,翅形密封区16的每一侧上的邻近折叠部52和54填充有局部密封剂材料30和32,如在图11中所示。在另一端部密封区14中,翅形密封区16的每一侧上的邻近折叠部填充有局部密封剂材料34和36。有利地,此类局部密封剂材料18、20、30和32以及26、28、34和36可以增加端部密封区12和14中的密封部的完整性,并且在端部密封区12和14处产生更一致的密封部。
为了制作图1的在多个离散位置中包括局部密封剂材料的流动包裹包装10,可以从一卷材料42展开膜的幅材40或其他包装材料,如在图7中所示。将食物产品(或其他物品或多个物品)放置在将用于形成包装10的包装材料幅材40的区段44上。更具体地,将食物产品放置在包装材料幅材40的区段44的中心部分46上。然后通过将包装材料幅材40的相对纵向边缘48和50围绕翅形区折叠部52和54朝向彼此折叠来形成翅形件并将其密封,从而产生围绕中心部分46的侧向折叠部22和24,然后在前部部分56和后部部分58中顺序地形成端部密封部,并且依照常例,将密封的包装10与包装材料幅材40的其余部分分离。仅出于说明目的,图7中示出了折叠线和其他线。在形成包装10时,与中心部分46相对的是由翅形件部分64和66接合的一对板60和62。
密封部主要在热密封剂层的相对部分之间制成。然而,独特的是在更容易具有空隙的多个离散位置中添加局部密封剂材料。更具体地,更容易具有空隙的那些离散位置位于端部密封区12和14中并且邻近材料的折叠部22、24、52和54。优选地,但不是必须的,在从一卷包装材料42展开包装材料幅材40期间,成直线地施加局部密封剂材料。如在图8的剖视图中所示,包装材料幅材40包括基底层70(其可以包括一层或更多层材料)和共同延伸的热密封剂层72。与基底层70相比,局部密封剂材料设置在热密封剂层72的相对侧上。
对于图1的流动包裹包装,并且参考前部部分56,图7的包装材料包括位于形成侧向折叠部22和24的第一对离散位置中的局部密封剂材料沉积物18和20,以及位于形成翅形密封区折叠部52和54的第二对离散位置中的沉积物30和32。类似地,参考后部部分58,图7的包装材料幅材40的区段44包括位于形成侧向折叠部22和24的第三对离散位置中的局部密封剂材料沉积物26和28,以及位于形成翅形密封区折叠部52和54的第四对离散位置中的沉积物34和36。
可以在包装形成之前或仅在形成密封部之后将局部密封剂材料设置在热密封剂层上。后一种情况,可以将局部密封剂材料设置在包装材料的与密封剂层接触的一部分上。例如,冷或其他密封剂材料可以是材料的将是端部密封部的一部分,并且局部密封剂材料可以位于将形成同一端部密封部的材料的相对部分上的一个或更多个离散位置中,使得在形成端部密封部时,将局部密封剂材料设置在其他密封剂材料上。
在一个示例中,局部密封剂材料可以是聚乙烯,但取决于应用也可以使用其他材料。局部密封剂材料的其他示例可以包括EVA、离聚物(例如,Surlyn)、茂金属LLDPE、茂金属vLDPE、LDPE、VLDPE、LLDPE、酸共聚物(例如,Nucrel)、三元共聚物、无定形共聚物、PB-1、TPE、淀粉基材料、PBS或这些材料的组合。优选地,但不是必须的,与基本热密封剂材料相比,局部热密封剂材料可以具有增强的可嵌缝性(caulkability),使得局部密封剂材料可以容易地流动以填充任何空隙。在一些情况下,流动可以是由于压缩和/或加热所致。
局部密封剂材料的益处可以用于各种不同的包装形式,并且不限于图1和图7至图11的流动包裹包装。作为非限制性实例,局部密封剂材料可以并入到立式包装、四边形包装和平底袋中,如下文进一步讨论的。如同流动包裹包装的先前示例,据信在包装材料中邻近折叠部添加局部密封剂材料是特别有利的。
诸如在图2中所示的立式包装80可以包括位于包装的顶部处的端部密封区90中的邻近侧向折叠部86和88的离散位置中的局部密封剂材料82和84,以及位于邻近底板96的离散位置92、93、94和95中的局部密封剂材料。图2的包装可以使用从一卷材料展开的包装材料制成,如在图12中所示。仅出于说明目的,图12中示出了折叠线和其他线。
图3中所示的四边形包装120可以具有一对侧角撑122和124。可以将局部密封剂材料施加在包装的顶部处的端部密封区128中的离散位置126以及包装的底部处的端部密封区130中。图3的包装可以使用从一卷材料展开的包装材料制成,如在图13中所示。仅出于说明目的,图13中示出了折叠线和其他线。
诸如在图15中所示的平底包装140可以包括顶密封部142,底密封部144(在图15中示出为折叠的)和后翅形密封部146(其部件在图14中示出)。侧板可以是带角撑的。可以将局部密封剂材料148施加在顶密封部142、底密封部144和后翅形密封部146中邻近折叠部的离散位置中,如在可以形成到图15的包装中的图14的材料幅材中所示。如同本文所示的包装材料幅材的其他示例,仅出于说明目的,图14中示出了折叠线和其他线。

Claims (15)

1.一种包装,所述包装由包装材料形成,所述包装材料至少具有基底层和密封剂层,所述材料具有设置在所述密封剂层上以及在多个离散位置中的局部密封剂材料,所述包装具有一个或更多个端部密封区,所述一个或更多个端部密封区具有折叠部,其中所述局部密封剂材料的所述离散位置邻近所述折叠部,使得所述局部密封剂材料至少部分地填充邻近所述折叠部的空隙。
2.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述包装包括第一端部密封区,所述第一端部密封区在其侧向边缘处具有折叠部,所述局部密封剂材料的所述离散位置包括邻近所述第一端部密封区的所述折叠部的第一对离散位置。
3.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述包装包括第一端部密封区和第二端部密封区,所述第一端部密封区和所述第二端部密封区中的每一者在其侧向边缘处具有折叠部,所述局部密封剂材料的所述离散位置包括邻近所述第一端部密封区的所述折叠部的第一对离散位置和邻近所述第二端部密封区的所述折叠部的第二对离散位置。
4.根据权利要求3所述的包装,其中所述包装包括翅形密封部,所述翅形密封部在所述第一端部密封区与所述第二端部密封区之间延伸并且具有与第一对翅形密封折叠部一起设置在所述第一端部密封区中的第一部分和与第二对翅形密封折叠部一起设置在所述第二端部密封区中的第二部分,所述局部密封剂材料的所述离散位置包括邻近所述第一对翅形密封折叠部的第三对离散位置和邻近所述第二对翅形密封折叠部的第四对离散位置。
5.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述包装是流动包裹包装,所述流动包裹包装中设置有至少一个食品。
6.根据权利要求2所述的包装,其中所述包装是立式包装,所述立式包装具有带角撑的底端,所述带角撑的底端与具有所述第一端部密封区的顶端相对。
7.根据权利要求6所述的包装,其中所述带角撑的底端包括具有多个角撑折叠部的角撑端部密封区,所述局部密封剂材料的多个离散位置邻近所述角撑端部密封区的所述角撑折叠部。
8.根据权利要求2所述的包装,其中所述包装是四边形包装,所述四边形包装具有一对带角撑的侧部。
9.根据权利要求8所述的包装,其中所述带角撑的侧部各自包括一对侧密封部和侧密封折叠部,所述局部密封剂材料的多个离散位置邻近所述侧密封折叠部。
10.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述密封剂层是热密封剂层,并且与所述热密封剂层的熔点相比,所述局部密封剂材料具有较低的熔点。
11.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述基底层包括多个不同的层。
12.根据权利要求1所述的包装,其中所述包装材料是膜。
13.一种制作根据权利要求1所述的包装的方法,所述方法包括:
将包装材料从一卷包装材料展开,所述包装材料具有热密封剂层;
将局部密封剂材料施加在多个离散位置中;
形成具有折叠部的端部密封区;以及
向所述端部密封区施加热以使所述热密封剂层的部分粘附并且使所述局部密封剂材料至少部分地填充邻近所述折叠部的空隙。
14.根据权利要求12所述的制作所述包装的方法,其中在将所述材料从所述一卷材料展开之后施加所述局部密封剂材料。
15.一种制作根据权利要求4所述的包装的方法,所述方法包括:
将包装材料从一卷包装材料展开,所述包装材料具有热密封剂层;
将局部密封剂材料施加在多个离散位置中;
形成翅形密封部;
向所述翅形密封部施加热以使所述热密封剂层的部分粘附并且使所述局部密封剂材料至少部分地填充邻近所述翅形密封部的折叠部的空隙;
形成具有折叠部的端部密封区;以及
向所述端部密封区施加热以使所述热密封剂层的部分粘附并且使所述局部密封剂材料至少部分地填充邻近所述端部密封区的所述折叠部的空隙。
