数据总线控制器部分的功能是,与无线部分进行数据交换,并通过数据总线23与许多智能卡阅读器24进行数据交换。在本实施例中,智能卡数据总线控制器部分可以是一常规的微控制器,包括适当的辅助元件(例如RAM,ROM,I/O等)。如所指,该微控制器控制任一智能卡25与移动电话14间经由无线链接13的数据传送。可替选的,智能卡皮夹与移动电话之间的数据传送还可经由以下途径,例如,红外线(IR)链接(举例来说,无线部分用一红外传送器/探测器来代替),或者无线连接可直接与移动电话14上的数据连接器建立。
另一可替选的是,智能卡皮夹与移动收发器之间的数据传送还可经由,举例来说,一个单集成电路(IC)芯片的无线电收发器。一个构建于单IC芯片上的近范围无线电收发器,包括相连的示范空气接口,已在1997年2月20日提交的共同待决的美国专利申请号为08/803,392的申请中作了公开描述。发明人为Karl Hakan TorbjornGardenfors,,Sven Mattisson,和Jacobus Cornelis Haartsen,受让人就是该申请的受让人,名字为Telefonaktiebolaget L MEricsson。申请号08/803,392的专列申请在此处被整体引用。因此,无线电/数据总线控制器22的无线电部分可依据申请号为08/803,392的专列申请中描述的单芯片无线电收发器来设计和工作。
依据本发明的优选实施例,以下是智能卡皮夹系统10应用的一个例子。假定一客户通过电话(移动或固定电话)与一航空公司预订服务的代表联系,要求预订航班。航空公司的代表会作出响应,给客户一个预订交易的证明(确认)号码,并告知机票价格。依据本优选实施例,当客户付机票费时,他用移动电话来调停付费交易。
举例来说,参考图1A和1B,客户的移动电话(例如14)上会显示一菜单,该菜单包括智能卡皮夹12中每块智能卡(例如25a-f)的应用目录。客户从显示内容(例如信用卡、预付现金卡等)中选择一块智能卡,打算用来付预订航班机票费。然后客户向移动电话14输入(例如用电话键盘)所选智能卡的PIN码,进行付费交易,航空公司代表提供机票价格和证明(确认)号码。付费信息存储在移动电话14的本地存储器中。
客户可将加电的移动电话14放在口袋或公文包中,但仍离智能卡皮夹12很近(例如在无线电范围内)。随后,航空公司代表(或自动付费环境下的航空公司计算机)通过一PLMN(优选数据信道)与客户的移动电话建立电话连接。例如,航空公司代表(或计算机)可从公共交换电话网络(PSTN)中的固定电话或终端与客户的移动电话建立常规通话。航空公司代表或计算机输入/传送包含预定码的数据给客户的移动电话(14),它需要移动电话传送有效交易信息(例如一电子“收据”)来确认该付费交易。例如,为响应航空公司有效交易信息的请求,移动电话(14)可传送确认信息(用来作为航空公司电话或终端的收据),该信息与航空公司代表为该机票交易而提供的原始证明号码相符。航空公司还可要求客户从移动电话(14)提供常飞航班的帐号信息(例如常飞航班的帐号号码)。一旦航空公司收到有效交易信息(以及举例来说,相关的常飞航班信息)后,航空公司和客户移动电话之间的通话可以终止。
随后,移动电话14和智能卡皮夹12之间通过链接13建立了通信。例如,移动电话14可与智能卡皮夹12的无线电部分建立一常规的移动电话方引起的呼叫(在相对低的发射功率水平),此时智能卡的电源已打开并处于空闲状态。一旦该(近范围)呼叫建立,移动电话14发送一控制消息给智能卡无线电/数据总线控制器22,由它指示数据总线控制器部分来更新该交易所选用的智能卡。如所指,数据总线控制器部分更新智能卡皮夹12中的相应(信用、现金等)智能卡,以反映机票付费交易(例如,从智能卡的帐目余额中减去付费总额)。还有,对本例来说,数据总线控制器部分可以更新所选智能卡上的常飞航班帐号(例如,相应增加常飞航班的英里数额)。特别要注意的是,依据本发明有利的安全特性,相关帐号信息是经过加密和电子签名后,在数据信道上传送。为了更加安全,交易的一份拷贝(痕迹)存储在智能卡本身。
另外,依据本发明的优选实施例,智能卡皮夹12还方便地为每块智能卡(例如25a-f)提供了一“智能”接口。换言之,当一块智能卡连到相应的智能卡阅读器(例如24a-f)时,智能卡将它的通信协议传达给阅读器(最终传达给皮夹中的数据总线控制器部分)。可替选的,智能卡可将它通信协议中的一个特殊码传达给智能卡阅读器(从而也就传达给控制器部分)。因此,任何可与智能卡阅读器建立连接并能理解该卡协议的远端设备,都能与皮夹12进行通信。如所指,举例来说,既然移动电话14能理解皮夹12中每块智能卡的通信协议,那么移动电话14就可以存储和保持皮夹中每块智能卡的用户接口(包括每块卡所提供服务的信息)。因而,智能卡皮夹12在某种意义上提供了附加的灵活性,因为它可以在任何地方使用,只要与它连接的源或端设备能兼容“智能”接口。
图2A和2B所画框图表示第二种示范智能卡皮夹系统100,用来实现本发明第二实施例。在该示范实施例中,用到了多应用智能卡125。举例来说,多应用智能卡125能存储和处理许多不同的智能卡应用,例如信用卡、预付现金卡、常飞班机卡、汽车租赁卡、电子“钱包”等等。因为这么多应用只用到一块智能卡125,所以智能卡皮夹112只包含一个用于该卡的口袋或插槽。还有,一个智能卡阅读器124用作该多应用智能卡125的通信接口。另外,对该实施例来说,既然皮夹112只用到一块智能卡和阅读器,那么简单的数据连接123可用来代替图1A和1B中所画皮夹12的较复杂的数据总线23。数据连接123将智能卡阅读器124与无线电/控制器122相连,在二者之间传送数据。智能卡皮夹112的无线电部分能与移动电话114通信,经由链接113在二者之间进行数据传送。可替选的是,正如图1A和1B中示范智能卡皮夹系统10所描述的那样,IR链接或无线连接也可用来替代无线电链接113。类似的,无线电/数据总线控制器122的无线电部分可依据申请号为08/803,392的专列申请中描述的单芯片无线电收发器来设计和工作,上述申请被整体引用。
在操作中,多应用智能卡皮夹系统100的功能与图1A和1B中所示的智能卡皮夹系统10类似,差别在于本例中只用到一块卡和卡阅读器。举例来说,在操作中,航空公司的代表或计算机可输入/传送包含预定码的数据给客户的移动电话114,并请求移动电话传送有效交易信息来确认该付费交易。为响应航空公司的有效交易信息请求,移动电话114可传送确认信息(用来作为航空公司电话或终端的收据),该信息与航空公司代表为该机票交易而提供的原始证明号码相符。航空公司还可要求客户从移动电话114提供常飞航班的帐号信息。一旦航空公司收到有效交易信息(以及相关的常飞航班信息)后,航空公司和客户移动电话之间的通话可以终止。
随后,移动电话114和智能卡皮夹112之间通过链接113建立了通信。移动电话114发送一控制消息给智能卡无线电/控制器122,由它指示控制器部分来更新该交易所选的智能卡应用。如所指,智能卡皮夹的控制器部分更新了智能卡皮夹112中多应用卡的(信用、现金等)应用,以反映机票付费交易(例如,从智能卡的帐目余额中减去付费总额)。还有,控制器部分可以更新多应用卡上所选应用的常飞航班帐号。重要的是,依据本发明有利的安全特性,付费交易的一份拷贝将保留存储在皮夹112的智能卡125中,并且相关帐号信息经过加密和电子签名后,在数据信道上传送。
在另一实施例中,智能卡皮夹系统(10)的本地数据总线(例如23)可以包含一基于因特网协议(IP)的本地网络。换言之,皮夹中的每块智能卡(25a-f)都有自己的IP地址。如所指,每块智能卡都可以通过因特网或其它网用独立的IP地址来进行分别寻址。因此可利用本发明提供其它技术优势。
举例来说,不同智能卡上的服务和/或资源可通过远程过程调用(RPCs)发出请求。还有,如果用到采用JAVA(面向对象)进行应用编程的智能卡,某些对象还可通过远程方法调用(RMI)被其它卡访问。进一步,与该智能卡皮夹通信的远程设备(例如终端、电话等)还可以装配附加功能,使得该设备能与许多不同的IP网络进行通信。另外,通过利用智能卡皮夹中数据总线的IP网络,加密套接字协议层(SSL)可用来保护进出智能卡时敏感数据的传送。出于这点,本发明在智能卡皮夹中可采用一数学处理器,用于加密/解密目的(例如采用RSA、DES等)。事实上,这样的数学处理器也可用于不采用IP地址的实施例中。
依据本发明,下面的描述将说明这些特性是如何方便有利地用于智能卡皮夹系统的。举例来说,在使用某些电子现金卡方案时,一个保密卡可用于ATM机的银行业务,以保护银行与现金卡之间的交易。保密卡的标识可存储在银行内,以便校验该ATM机是被银行“信任”的。可是,如果ATM机是可移动的,那么出于管理和/或安全的原因,银行可能不希望包括这样的保密卡。这种情况,银行更愿选用包含几个这种保密卡的加载服务器(计算机)。可是,加载服务器仅能提供实际所需保密卡数量的一部分。
依据本发明,许多智能保密卡皮夹可用来解决该问题。举例来说,如果某银行希望增加一ATM机上加载服务器的保密卡数量,那么该银行可附加一个或多个智能保密卡皮夹来增加加载服务器的容量。换言之,智能保密卡皮夹可作为一网络资源。
本发明中智能卡皮夹的另一应用例子是,假定一智能卡皮夹(例如112)包含一多应用智能卡(例如125),其中的应用包括电子现金应用、守法应用、身份证明应用。当用户想利用上述RPC或RMI特性和皮夹的本地IP网络把“钱”装入该“电子钱包”,与智能卡皮夹进行通信的终端并不需要调用某一确定卡上的现金应用。代替为,终端调用一软件程序(例如称为“加载钱”),该程序与RPC/RMI应用相结合,使智能卡皮夹能决定哪块卡上的哪个应用被调用(例如,在多应用卡上的现金应用)。
还有另一例子,假定一用户想把“钱”从电子现金卡转帐给另一用户的现金卡,并且第一个用户有一个含路由功能的终端。因而,该终端能很容易到达访问第一和第二个用户的智能卡皮夹IP网络。第一用户可调用,例如称为“提取”的方法,从第一个智能卡皮夹中提取所要的金额,并调用称为“存入”的另一方法,把“钱”转入第二用户的智能卡皮夹。第一用户(或用户终端)需要知道第二用户现金卡的IP地址,或第一用户需指示往哪块卡存入“钱”,因为方法“存入”可被两智能卡皮夹中的任一个所调用。
本发明智能卡皮夹IP网络的另一应用例子是,将应用下载到智能卡。这种情况,与智能卡皮夹发生通信的移动终端可从一“被信任”的应用提供者那里请求某一应用,并指定将要下载应用的智能卡的IP地址(和目录,如需要)。如所指,下载可自动完成,不需请求用户的进一步干预。下载可通过移动终端的数据信道完成,而移动终端仍可继续进行语音通信业务。
本发明中基于IP地址的智能卡还能方便有利地用于文件传送。举例来说,假定第一用户有一智能卡皮夹,其中的一个卡包含某游戏(比如象棋),该游戏可在第一用户的移动终端上玩。第一用户可呼叫第二用户,把象棋游戏文件传送给第二用户智能卡皮夹中的智能游戏卡,然后第二用户可在他的移动终端玩。可替选的,第二用户也可用FTP从第一用户的智能游戏卡上把游戏拷贝下来,或第一用户给第二用户发送一e-mail消息并把游戏文件作为附件。第二用户把游戏从终端下载到他智能卡皮夹中的游戏卡内,于是两个用户可一起玩该游戏(例如象棋)了。
依据本发明,一种“服务发现”应用也可实现。举例来说,本发明智能卡中基于IP的网络或数据总线可看作一“微微网络”。如所指,皮夹(12)中的智能卡(例如25a-f)可经由链接13自动广播每块卡提供的服务。可替选的,智能卡皮夹(12)可应答输入的请求,显示本卡所能提供的部分或全部服务,或者智能卡皮夹可从其它皮夹接收某些广播消息。作为另一替选例,当一智能卡初始插入皮夹(12)的一个智能卡阅读器时,皮夹中的嵌入微控制器读取该卡所能提供的服务,并在皮夹中保存所有智能卡能提供服务的目录。这种情况下,嵌入微控制器能够自动(或在被请求时)通过链接13广播服务目录。
假如这些特性被采用,那么智能卡皮夹用户可将这些特性用于购物目的。例如,在去商场之前,用户将要购买物品的清单存储在皮夹中适当的智能卡内。该皮夹还包含一智能卡,该智能卡中有用户根据从商场内一些店铺收到的优惠券而输入的折扣信息。当用户进入商场时,他让智能卡皮夹广播所需服务清单,包括想要购买物品清单和店铺的折扣信息。作为响应,依据所广播的购买清单和折扣信息,智能卡会收到一些店铺和它们所能提供物品的清单。用户可以查看这些收到的信息(例如在移动电话14的显示器上),选择最好的店铺去购买。当用户准备为要买商品付费时,如前所述,店主会自动检查用户智能卡皮夹(12)中的哪种资源可用于付费,从中提取所需费用或者留给用户来决定使用哪个卡付费。
尽管本发明的优选实施例的方法和装置已在附图以及详细描述中作了阐述和举例说明,但并不能理解为本发明仅限于所公开的实施例,在不偏离本发明精神的前提下,本发明可作许多重新布置、修改和替换,正如前面所阐明以及后面权利要求所定义的那样。
Claims (26)
1.一种智能卡皮夹,包含:
一个控制器;
与该控制器相连的一个通信单元,用来和智能卡皮夹进行数据传送;和
至少一个与该控制器相连的智能卡阅读器,以便在至少一个智能卡和所述控制器之间传送数据;和
其中所述的一个智能卡阅读器与一个网间协议地址相关联。
2.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中至少有一个智能卡阅读器通过数据总线与控制器相连。
3.如权利要求2的智能卡皮夹,其中所述的数据总线包括一个基于网间协议的网络。
4.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中的控制器包含一数据总线控制器。
5.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中的通信单元包含一个无线电收发器。
6.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中的通信单元包含一个红外发送器和探测器。
7.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中的通信单元包含一个单集成电路IC芯片的无线电收发机。
8.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中至少有一个智能卡阅读器与多应用智能卡连接。
9.如权利要求1的智能卡皮夹,其中至少有一个智能卡阅读器与至少一块智能卡连接,该智能卡包括一个智能接口。
10.一种智能卡皮夹,包含:
一个控制器;
与该控制器相连的一个通信单元,用来和智能卡皮夹进行数据传送;和
与该控制器相连的多个智能卡阅读器,以便在至少一个智能卡和所述控制器之间传送数据;和
其中所述多个智能卡阅读器中的每个智能卡阅读器与一个不同的网间协议地址相关联。
11.一种方法,用来在排列于智能卡皮夹中的一个智能卡与一个远程交易单元之间传送第一个数据量,该方法包括以下步骤:
把智能卡中的第一个数据量连接到排列于智能卡皮夹中的一个通信单元;
该通信单元经由一个无线链接将第一个数据量传送给一部移动无线电话;以及
该移动无线电话接收第一个数据量,与远程交易单元建立通话,在二者之间传送第一个数据量。
12.如权利要求11的方法,还包括以下步骤:
该移动电话从远程交易单元接收第二个数据量,然后与通信单元建立呼叫,并经由所述无线链接传送第二个数据量给通信单元;以及
把第二个数据量从通信单元连接到智能卡。
13.如权利要求11的方法,其中第一个数据量是通过一智能卡阅读器、数据总线和控制器连接到该通信单元的。
14.如权利要求13的方法,其中的控制器还包含一数据总线控制器。
15.如权利要求13的方法,其中所述数据总线包括一个基于网间协议的网络。
16.如权利要求11的方法,其中的通信单元包含一个无线电收发器。
17.如权利要求11的方法,其中的通信单元包含一个红外发送器和探测器。
18.如权利要求11的方法,其中的通信单元包含一个单集成电路芯片上的无线电收发器。
19.如权利要求11的方法,其中的智能卡还包含一个多应用智能卡。
20.如权利要求11的方法,其中的智能卡与一智能卡阅读器相连,而智能卡阅读器则与一个网间协议地址相关联。
21.如权利要求20的方法,其中的智能卡阅读器包括排列于智能卡皮夹内许多智能卡阅读器中的一个,并且这许多智能卡阅读器中的每个都与一个不同的IP地址相关联。
22.一种方法,用来标识至少一种智能卡皮夹所提供的服务,包括以下步骤:
把与至少一种服务相关联的智能卡连接到智能卡阅读器;
至少部分地使用与所述智能卡阅读器相关联的一个网间协议地址来从该智能卡中读取至少一种服务;以及
智能卡皮夹把标识至少一种服务的数据通过无线电空气接口传送给一移动蜂窝电话。
23.如权利要求22的方法,其中标识至少一种服务的数据的传送,是响应从移动蜂窝电话接收到的服务请求而进行的。
24.如权利要求23的方法,其中的服务请求包含智能卡皮夹所提供服务清单中的一个请求。
25.如权利要求22的方法,其中的智能卡皮夹将一个IP地址与智能卡阅读器相关联。
26.如权利要求22的方法,还包括智能卡皮夹进行交易的步骤,该交易与所提供的至少一种服务有关。
