Description

Pet food beneficial to maintaining intestinal health
Technical Field
The invention relates to a pet food beneficial to maintaining intestinal health, and belongs to the technical field of pet foods.
Background
In recent years, in order to satisfy leisure, consumption and emotional setback of residents, the proportion of pets raised by residents is increased, the market scale of the pet industry shows a trend of ultra-high speed growth, and dogs and cats are the most popular pets. Among them, pet food is the largest market segment of the pet industry. The pet food is a food which is specially provided for pets and is between human food and traditional livestock and poultry feed, and mainly has the functions of providing required nutrient substances for the pets and ensuring the growth, development and health of the pets.
The intestinal tract is used as an important organ and an immune organ for digesting and absorbing the nutrient substances of dogs and cats, contains a large number of intestinal microorganisms which exchange energy with cells of the organism and transmit information, and the health level of the intestinal tract determines the whole health state of the organism. The intestinal diseases are one of the common diseases of pets and mainly show symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia and the like. The proliferation of pathogenic bacteria and the imbalance of intestinal flora caused by poor dietary habits or taking antibiotics are main causes of gastrointestinal diseases of pets.
In 2016, the international association for the science of probiotics and prebiotics (ISAPP) defined prebiotics as a substance that can be selectively utilized by the flora in the host and converted into substances beneficial to the health of the host. The reasonable intake of the prebiotics can inhibit the growth and reproduction of pathogenic bacteria in the digestive tract of animals, and is helpful for maintaining or improving the balance of intestinal flora, reducing the generation of toxins and promoting the intestinal peristalsis, thereby improving the intestinal function and improving the digestion, absorption and defecation conditions.
However, most of the existing pet foods containing prebiotics are pet foods added with probiotics, but after the probiotics are puffed at high temperature, the activity of functional components is low, and the effect is very poor, so the development of a pet food which has the probiotic effect, can prevent and improve the occurrence of symptoms of constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia and the like of pets, and can maintain the intestinal health of pets is a hot spot.

Example 3: effect of different formulations of Pet food on the abundance of Probiotics in the Pet gut
The pet food 1-7 prepared in example 2 was fed to pet dogs, and the abundance of probiotics (bifidobacteria and lactobacilli) in feces of pet dogs before and after feeding was determined.
The method comprises the following specific steps:
the specific embodiment of the pet dog feeding experiment is as follows:
36 pet dogs were selected, of which 12 dogs each were a doll (small dog), a puppy (medium dog), and a golden hair (large dog). Each breed of pet dog was randomly divided into 4 groups of 3 dogs, each group was fed with pet foods 1 to 7 prepared in example 2 (only pet foods and drinking water prepared according to the present invention were fed during the experiment), and 12 experimental groups were counted, 3 dogs in each group were paralleled (no control group was provided separately because of the large individual difference in intestinal flora), and the food intake was 15 g/kg/d.
Feces of pet dogs were collected on 0, 30 and 60 days of feeding, respectively, and abundances of Bifidobacterium (Bifidobacterium spp.) and Lactobacillus (Lactobacillus spp.) in intestinal tracts of different dog types after eating pet foods of different formulas were calculated, respectively, with the results shown in tables 1-2:
table 1: abundance of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in intestinal tracts of different dogs eating pet foods with formulas 1-4
Figure BDA0003145548480000081
Table 2: abundance of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in intestinal tract following consumption of pet food according to formulas 5, 6, and 7 by different canine types
Figure BDA0003145548480000082
As can be seen from tables 1 and 2, the relative abundances of probiotics (bifidobacterium and lactobacillus) in feces of a doll (a small dog), a dog (a medium dog) and a golden hair (a large dog) are regulated by using pet food 1, pet food 2 and pet food 3 (prebiotic powder is prepared by mixing alpha cyclodextrin, beta cyclodextrin and gamma cyclodextrin according to the ratio of 1: 1: 1) prepared by using the method provided by the invention, compared with pet food 4 (no prebiotic powder is added), and the regulation effect is superior to that of pet food 5 (prebiotic powder is only alpha cyclodextrin), pet food 6 (prebiotic powder is only beta cyclodextrin) and pet food 7 (prebiotic powder is only gamma cyclodextrin).
The analysis data shows that the pet food 2 and 3 has the most obvious regulating effect on the bifidobacteria and the lactobacilli, the bifidobacteria respectively increase 3.80, 1.92 and 2.32log cfu/g on day 60 when the pet food 2 is fed with the doll, the favich and the golden hair, the lactobacilli respectively increase 1.77, 0.38 and 1.76log cfu/g, the bifidobacteria respectively increase 2.14, 2.30 and 2.35log cfu/g on day 60 when the pet food 3 is fed with the doll, the favich and the golden hair, and the lactobacilli respectively increase 1.59, 1.02 and 0.99log cfu/g. In addition, pet food 4 prepared without addition of prebiotic powder (cyclodextrin) had little intestinal flora modulating ability, and pet foods 5, 6, and 7 prepared with addition of alpha cyclodextrin, beta cyclodextrin, and gamma cyclodextrin alone could up-regulate the probiotic abundance in feces, but the up-regulation ability was lower than pet foods 2 and 3. The situation that the addition of cyclodextrin in a pet food formula can promote effective colonization of probiotics in the intestinal tract of a pet dog is indirectly reflected, and the compounding effect of alpha cyclodextrin, beta cyclodextrin and gamma cyclodextrin is superior to that of the addition of one type of cyclodextrin, so that the occurrence of symptoms of constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia and the like of pets can be prevented and improved, and the intestinal tract health of the pets is favorably maintained.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it should be understood that various changes and modifications can be made therein by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
