背景技术
如在专利5,390,431和5,582,535中描述的多年来已开发并出售使用叉指型梳状研磨结构的多种手动(非电的)磨锐器。
尽管该技术已被消费者有效且广泛地接受,但其存在很多限制。首先,刀片抵靠研磨面的运动沿着平行于边缘的顶端的边缘小平面形成凹槽的图案。这些凹槽倾向于下切并削弱支撑边缘的金属。由于边缘故障的主要机理是卷边和折叠到其自身上,这些凹槽倾向于降低边缘的耐久性。
其次,当使用非常精细的研磨粒度时,这些类型的磨锐器的精磨段显现边连续完全线性的缘顶端。尽管这类边缘对很多切割功能来说是有效的,但发现具有微小锯齿的边缘对于很多室内和室外应用更有效。然而,实现具有叉指型梳状研磨结构的微小锯齿的边缘将很难并且成本高。

本发明的另一目的是提供彼此合作以提供更有效且更耐用的边缘的锐化技术的改进组合。

具体实施方式
通过图1至图4说明本发明的一个实施方式,图1至图4示出了具有可替换的第一预磨锐段1A和1B并具有第二精磨段2的两个段的磨锐器。
第一段使用具有粗磨料的叉指型梳状结构以从钝化并损坏的边缘中去除必要量的金属,并形成前两个边缘的小平面。这基于美国专利5,390,431和5,582,535的技术,通过引证将其全部内容结合于此。
使用在美国专利8,043,143和9,186,627中描述的技术设计第二段(精磨段2),通过引证将其全部细节结合于此。该技术包括安装在由内部模制的轴承支撑的可旋转的轴上的一对包覆钻石的盘,该轴承是模制磨锐器结构的一部分。磨锐盘面对具有截锥体的表面轮廓的覆磨料构件。将盘压配合到可旋转的轴上,在轴上截锥体的小端被压成彼此接触。使用该原理的其他变化对本领域技术人员将显而易见。

通过用配对盘技术设计第二段,刀片磨锐器可利用叉指垫技术的以上优点但却克服了它们的限制。
首先,通过以比在第一段中稍微大的角度在这些盘中设置修整角度,并且使用细磨料,去除易于下切边缘并降低边缘耐久性的边缘平行凹槽的图案,并且由更垂直于边缘的交叉凹槽的新图案取代,从而以更大的角度形成第二小平面并且提高边缘的耐久性。
此外,这对第二小平面在边缘的顶端会聚以形成具有微小锯齿的边缘,这样的边缘通过提供更多“咬合”而更加有效。
由于在磨锐各种各样的边缘角中使用涂覆磨料的叉指型梳状结构的磨锐段提供的通用性,该设计构思可以容易地扩展到磨锐各种各样的小刀以及其他的刀片。例如,本发明人可设想三个段的磨锐器,最初两个磨锐段1A和1B的磨锐元件分别形成以磨锐15°和20°的工厂边缘,以及利用旋转盘技术的精磨段2,其中磨锐元件以比20°稍微大的角度设置,从而为任一类型的边缘提供精磨段。因此,可使用磨锐器10,其中,预磨锐段1A用于具有例如在12-18°之间的角度的亚洲风格的小刀,而预磨锐段1B可用于通常具有17°到23°之间的角度的芝加哥风格或欧洲/美国风格的小刀。段2可具有19-25°的角度并且应当大于预磨锐段的角度。
尽管本发明的优选实践使用预磨锐段的叉指型梳状研磨结构,但其他预磨锐技术可与精磨段组合使用。这种预磨锐技术还可以具有优点(诸如,速度和/或经济),并且将与精磨段的截锥形盘不同,这些盘的小端朝向彼此布置并优选彼此接触。交替的预磨锐元件包括覆盖了相交的钻石的(或者用其他磨料(诸如,碳化硅)覆盖的)杆、交叉碳化钨杆或具有尖锐边缘的平板、交叉陶瓷或石头杆,以及由具有尖锐边缘的硬化钢制成的交叉杆。相似地,这些预磨锐元件还可以采用提供狭槽的部分重叠的盘状,通过该狭槽可拉动小刀边缘。其中,存在两个预磨锐段,两个段中的磨锐结构可以彼此不同。

Claims (6)

1.一种具有至少一个预磨锐段和精磨段的磨锐器,改进在于所述预磨锐段具有第一磨料磨锐结构,所述精磨段具有第二磨料磨锐结构,所述第二磨料磨锐结构是小端彼此相对地布置的一对带研磨表面的截锥形盘,这些盘安装在能旋转的轴上,并且所述第一磨料磨锐结构与所述第二磨料磨锐结构不同。
