Abstract

Description

采用无线电话-传真复合系统,用户就可以在一定非要在固定的办公室内发送和接收文件。同样,采用无线电话-计算机复合系统,用户也可以不在办公室内用一个便携式计算机来访问数据库或与其它计算机用户进行通信。如果计算机有合适的调制解调装置,那末还可以将文件从计算机发送给一个传真机。一种典型的无线电话在可从本发明代理人那里得到的莫托罗拉微型T.A.C手册#68P81150E49(Motorola    micro    T.A.C    #68P81150E49)中有详细的说明。
然而,这样配置的问题是,通常用一个汽车供电系统来对这些复合系统供电。为了保证真正可移动的特点,无线电话-传真或无线电话-计算机复合系统必需采用电池供电,用户才能载上这类复合系统到各地去。结果是,这类复合系统,无论是用一个电池对复合系统的两个分机供电还是用两个独立的电池分别对各分机供电,都需要一个又大又笨重的复合系统。无论用哪种方式供电,复合系统的两个分机必需都保持接通,以便接收入呼,或者,在接收到需要传真机或计算机的电话呼叫时再手动接通这些分机。在这两种情况下,电池的效率都会降低,因为好些时候分机虽然接通,但并不使用。即使是在接收呼叫时手动通断这些分机,仍然有可能由于疏忽而没有及时断开,浪费了电池。
无线电话-计算机用户可能还希望用一个与无线电话相连的调制解调装置来发送数据。在这种情况下,无线电话必需保持接通,或者在需要时手动通断。因此,就需要一种在不工作时不浪费电池能量的无线电话-计算机或无线电话-传真复合系统。
本发明所提供的通信系统包括用来接收和发送数据信号的收发装置和对发送和接收的数据信号进行调制/解调的调制解调装置。通信系统的工作由处理装置加以控制。
图1为数据通信系统方框图。
图2A和图2B为该通信系统控制器的处理流程图。
本发明的数据通信系统用了一个双向的供电控制器来控制对无线电话和接到该无线电话上的传真机、计算机或其它辅助设备的供电。因此,当需用某个辅助设备时,就能对这个辅助设备供电。
图1示出了这种数据通信系统的优选实例。该系统有一个控制该系统的微处理器或微控制器(103)(以下称之为控制器)。控制器(103)控制接到外接辅助设备(计算机、传真机等)(109)以及调制解调装置(102)和无线电话(101)的供电制(106、107、108),其控制过程如图2A和图2B所示。接至辅助设备和无线电话的开关(106、108)与地线相接,而接至调制解调装置的开关(107)则接到无线电话的电池或其它电源上。
外接辅助设备(109)通过一个异步通信接口适配器(ACIA)(104)将命令和数据发给控制器(103)。控制器9103)通过另一个ACIA(111)将命令和数据发给调制解调装置(102)。如果外接辅助设备(109)在RS-232总线上通信,则可以用一个电平转换器(105)将RS-232逻辑电平转换成TTL电平。
无线电话(101)通过无线电路音频传输线(110)接到调制解调装置(102)。调制解调装置(102)可以通过无线电话发射机或接收机发送或接收经调制的数据。在这个优选实施例中,调制解调装置(102)由无线电话的电池供电。电池通过供电控制开关(107)接到调制解调装置(102)上。
参见图2B。无线电话通常在接通而不使用时处于低功率的备用状态(201)。辅助设备如果不在使用则不予供电或也处于低功率的备用状态(201)。调制解调装置是断开的(201)。当接收到由基台发出的呼叫时(202),无线电话就进入到工作状态,接收呼叫。呼叫由所接收的振铃信号指示,该振铃信号也接到控制器上。根据这个振铃信号,控制器接通辅助设备和调制解调装置,无线电话回答呼叫(203)。然后,接收从发送方发来的数据。在本发明的一个实施例中,控制器能够使系统的各部件返回到原来的供电状态(204)。
如果辅助设备发出一个命令(205),这个命令就由控制器执行(206)。对于本数据通信系统来说进行数据传送就是这类命令的一个例子。
图2A示出了这种数据传送处理。对于这个处理实例来说,辅助设备接通,而调制解调装置则是断开的,并且无线电话是断开或处于备用状态的。辅助设备向控制器发出一个命令(220)。如果控制器确定该命令是一个供电控制命令(221),则控制器执行该命令(223),例如控制器将无线电话和调制解调装置接通。如果无线电话已经接通或处于备用状态,则将使它进入工作状态,发送数据。
如果控制器确定该命令是要检索无线电话数据(2240,则控制器就接通无线电话(如果原来是断开的话),检索数据(225)。这数据可以是接收信号强度信息)RSSI)或者是来自无线电话存储器的数据(即电话号码)。
如果控制器确定该命令是要传送给调制解调装置的智能控制器的(222),则控制器接通调制解调装置,将叙述传给调制解调装置的控制器(226)。这种命令的一个例子是“AT”拨号命令。调制解调装置的控制器即可将电话号码附于该命令上,传送给无线电话,进行拨号。这样,这个辅助设备就能通过调制解调器和无线电话与另一个正在使用无线电话或地面线路电话和调制解调装置的辅助设备通信。
如果辅助设备(109)是一个计算机,则可以使用一个数据调制解调装置(例如UDS    V.22bis)。如果辅助设备(109)是一个传真机,则可以使用一个传真调制解调装置(例如Worldport2496)。
一旦通话结束,控制器(103)就撤去对调制解调装置(102)和无线电话(101)的供电。对辅助设备(109)的供电由其本身内部停电算法切断。在另一个实施例中,通话结束后过一段预定时间再自动停止对调制解调装置和无线电话的供电。在另一个实例中也可以是,在辅助设备发出了最后一个命令后,如果无线电话不在通话,则过一段预定时间停止对调制解调装置和无线电话的供电。另一个具体实例是,只在计算机发出一个指令停电的命令后才会执行停电操作。还有一个具体实例是,在数据传送结束后用控制器来控制,停止对辅助设备的供电。
这种数据通信系统可以装入辅助设备(109)内。也可以是,通信系统的各个装置装在各独立的机壳内,或装在同一个机壳内。本发明的各装置可以用同一个电源,或者组合成各种复合系统。
这里所介绍的数据通信系统通过在不需要调制解调装置和无线电话时不向这两个装置供电减少了需要电池向这两个装置供电的时间。由于减少了这些装置消耗功率的时间,就大大延长了电池不需更换的时间。

Claims (6)

1、一种将数据信号传送到一个产生一个第一供电控制信号的辅助设备和传送这个辅助设备发出的数据信号的通信系统,该系统包括:
收发装置,用来发送和接收数据信号和产生一个第二供电控制信号;
调制解调装置,该装置接到所述收发装置和辅助设备,用来对所接收的数据信号进行解调和对由所述辅助设备发出的数据信号进行调制;以及
处理装置,该装置根据所述第一和第二供电控制信号控制对所述收发装置、调制解调装置和辅助设备的供电。
2、权利要求1提出的系统,其中所述辅助设备是一个计算装置。
3、权利要求1提出的系统,其中所述辅助设备是一个传真机。
4、权利要求1提出的系统,其中所述调制解调装置是一个调制解调器。
5、一种具有一个供电输入、用来进行数据信号通信的通信系统,该系统包括:
计算装置,用来产生一个第一供电控制信号和数据信号;
收发装置,用来发送和接收数据信号以及产生一个第二供电控制信号;
调制解调装置,该装置接到所述收发装置和计算装置,用来对来自所述收发装置的接收数据信号进行解调和对来自所述计算装置的数据信号进行调制;以及
控制装置,该装置接到所述收发装置、调制解调装置和计算装置,用来根据第一或第二供电控制信号控制对所述调制解调装置的供电和根据第一供电控制信号控制对所述收发装置的供电,或者根据第二供电控制信号控制对所棕计算装置的供电。
6、一种具有一个供电输入、用来进行数据信号通信的通信系统,该系统包括:
传真装置,用来产生一个第一供电控制信号和数据信号;
收发装置,用一发送和接收数据信号和产生一个第二供电控制信号;
调制解调装置,该装置接到所述收发装置和传真装置,用来对来自所述收发装置的接收数据信号进行解调和对来自所述传真的数据信号进行调制;以及
控制装置,该装置接到所述收发装置、调制解调装置和传真装置,用来根据第一或第二供电控制信号控制对所述调制解调装置的供电和根据第一供电控制信号控制对所述收发装置的供电,或者根据第二供电控制信号控制对所述传真装置的供电。
