Abstract

Description

一种行数转换方法及具有行数转换的图像显示设备
本发明涉及一种图像显示设备,它具有一个逐行扫描显示屏和用于将隔行扫描视频信号应用于该逐行扫描显示屏的装置。本发明还涉及一种用于该图像显示屏的行数转换方法。
US-A-5,301,031公开了一种扫描变换显示设备,用于把将要显示的扫描行数转换到一个能被容纳在一个具有较少扫描行数的,例如液晶面板,矩阵显示面板上的行数。该设备包括一个产生与输入视频信号同步的控制信号的控制电路,水平和垂直扫描电路,且每个都包括由控制电路操作的一个移位寄存器,以及一个由扫描电路有选择地驱动的矩阵排列的象素所构成的显示面板。
该设备还包括一个在垂直扫描电路的有效扫描周期内的某个特定时间间隔停止垂直移位寄存器操作的电路,以便抽取垂直移位时钟脉冲,由此在视频信号有效的显示周期内移去垂直移位时钟脉冲,因此周期性地抽取了扫描行。
这种已知的设备不能同一个不允许如此周期性地移去垂直位移时钟脉冲和抽取扫描行的显示面板一同工作。
特别地,本发明的一个目的就是提供一种能克服上面这种问题的图像显示设备。为了这个目的,本发明的第一个方面就是提供了一种行数转换方法,用来根据一个第二数值隔行扫描视频行数的信号(RGB-1)来提供一个第一数值的逐行扫描的视频行信号(RGB-2)。本发明的第二个方面就是提供了一种用于实现上述行数转换方法的图像显示设备。
本发明的一种便利的实施方案涉及一种图像显示设备,它有一个具有第一数值的显示行数的逐行扫描显示屏,一个每半帧具有第二数值的视频行数的隔行扫描视频信号将被应用于该显示屏。由此,第一数值要超过第二数值,但低于第二数值的两倍。第一行存贮器装置被用于加倍视频信号的行数。第二和第三行存贮器装置的每一个都接收行数被加倍过的视频信号的视频行,并且以一个相应于该第一显示行数而减小的速率提供一对视频行。一个插入器根据从第二和第三行存贮器接收的该对视频行提供给显示器第一数值的显示行数。该发明可被方便地用于在一个被设计用来显示拥有480行逐行扫描的视频的VGA信号的液晶矩阵显示器上显示拥有575个有效的隔行扫描的视频行的PAL信号,这样显示行被持续地提供给矩阵显示器,而不必象已有技术一样中断行扫描。

在如图1所示的实施方案中,一个输入的红、绿或兰色信号RGB-1(在图2的第一行中示出)被提供给一个A/D转换器1,它的数字输出信号被供给将输入信号行速率加倍的第一行存贮器F1。行存贮器F1的输出信号F1-O(表示在图2的第二行)被提供给第二和第三行存贮器装置F2、F3,它们读取信号F1-0的交替视频行,如图2中第三行(信号F2-I由第二行存贮器装置F2读取)和第四行(信号=F3-I由第三行存贮器装置F3读取)所示出的那样。通过进行恰当的延迟,第二和第三行存贮器F2、F3根据每6条输入视频行提供5条输出视频行,正如图2中第5行(信号F2-0由第二行存贮器装置F2提供)和第6行(信号F3-0由第三行存贮器装置F3提供)所示。
图3说明了视频行从6行到5行的转换是通过增加消隐对活动视频信号的比率来进行的,这样,得到的5条输出视频扫描行(图3中第2行所示的信号F2-0,F3-0)占据了6条输入视频扫描行(图3中第一行所示的信号F2-I,F3-I)的时间宽度。这就产生了一个好处,即整个电路可通过一个单一的时钟操作。
返回到图1,第二和第三行存贮器的输出信号F2-0和F3-0被分别供给相应的D/A转换器3和5,来得到各自的模拟彩色信号RGB*和RGB**。该模拟的彩色信号RGB*和RGB**被提供给插入器7的相应输入端口,它将一个信号RGB-2供给一个逐行扫描显示器(未画出)。图2的最后两行示出了插入器输入信号RGB*和RGB**在被加入插入器7之前各自所乘以的加权因子WF-RGB*和WF-RGB**。一个PLL和控制部件9根据与输入彩色信号RGB-1相应的水平和垂直同步信号Hsync/Vsync来提供控制信号给图1中实施方案的所有构成模块。
A/D转换器可由已知的集成电路TDA 8703构成。行存贮器F1、F2和F3可以由已知的集成电路OPD 42102构成。D/A转换器3和5可以由众所周知的集成电路CX20206构成。插入器7可以由已知的集成电路HCT 4051和合适的电阻阵列构成。
值得注意的是,上述的实施方案是阐述而非限制了本发明,而且那些本专业的技术人员将能按照所附的权利要求的范围设计出许多可替换的实施方案。在权利要求中,在括号内的任何参考符号不能被当作对该权利要求的限制。该发明可利用包括一些不同元件的硬件和一个适当编程的计算机来实现。当然,一个数字化的插入器,其后跟以单个D/A转换器,可被用来代替两个D/A转换器3和5后跟以模拟插入器7的结构。图中所示的模拟插入器7仍能利用利用一些电阻被非常容易地实现。通过一些直接的修改,任何其它的行数变换方法可同样地被实施。

Claims (2)

1.一种行数转换方法,用来根据一个第二数值隔行扫描视频行数的信号(RGB-1)来提供一个第一数值的逐行扫描的视频行信号(RGB-2),第一数值超过第二数值但要低于第二数值的两倍,该方法包括的步骤有:
加倍(F1)第二数值的视频行数,来提供两倍的第二数值的逐行扫描的视频行;
根据与加倍的第二数值的逐行扫描视频行数相应的第一数值的视频行数,以减低的速率提供(F2、F3)一对视频行信号(F2-0,F3-0),
从该减低的速率,根据该对视频行信号(F2-0,F3-0),插入(7)第一数值的视频行信号(RGB-2),其中所说的以一个减低的速率提供一对视频行(F2-0,F3-0)的步骤包括一个增大消隐对活动视频信号的比率的步骤,使得以该减低的速度得到的输出视频行(F2-0,F3-0)占据了一个对应于较大行数的输入视频行信号(F2-I,F3-I)的时间宽度。
2.一个图像显示设备,包括:
一个具有第一数值显示行的逐行扫描显示屏;
用于接收每半帧拥有第二数值视频扫描行的隔行扫描视频信号(RGB-1)的装置(1),第一数值超过第二数值,但低于第二数值的两倍,
用于加倍第二数值的视频行的装置(F1),来提供两倍于第二数值的逐行扫描视频行,
根据与加倍的第二数值的逐行扫描的视频行相对应的第一数值的视频行,用于以一个减低的速率提供一对视频行(F2-0,F3-0)的装置(F2,F3);和
用于以该减低的速率根据该对视频行(F2-0,F3-0)来插入第一数值的视频行的装置(7),来向逐行扫描显示屏提供该被插入的视频行(RGB-2),其中所说的以一个减低的速率提供一对视频行(F2-0,F3-0)的装置(F2,F3)包括一个用于增大消隐对活动视频信号的比率的装置,使得以该减低的速率得到的输出视频行(F2-0,F3-0)占据了一个对应于较大行数的输入视频行信号(F2-I,F3-I)的时间宽度。
