Description

轮胎胎体帘布层联接设备和方法
技术领域
本发明总体涉及生产用于制作充气轮胎的连续制备帘布层材料的设备和方法,更具体地,涉及从多个件制作连续胎体帘布层的设备和方法。
背景技术
在构造子午线轮胎时,包括弹性体材料的一个或多个制备帘布层的胎体构建在大体圆柱形的鼓上。应用制备帘布层,使得加强帘线沿大体平行于鼓轴线的方向从胎圈伸展到胎圈。因此,在制作胎体之前,必须首先制作具有横向延伸的加强帘线的制备帘布层。
已知通过首先生产一片弹性体材料来制造制备帘布层,其中,加强帘线沿纵向延伸。在生产期间,该片弹性体材料在压延辊之间通过。压延的该片材料然后被切割成四边形,例如矩形件,被重新定向,并且压延的边缘然后被拼接在一起,以形成连续的制备帘布层材料的条。重新定向致使加强帘线沿大体平行于拼接接头并且大体垂直于制备帘布层条的纵向方向延伸。
如果弹性体材料具有金属加强帘线,则材料的压延的横向边缘具有相对平直和均匀的边缘。因此,在制造具有金属加强帘线的制备帘布层时,条的相邻端部沿相反方向放置,并且在不存在任何端部重叠的情况下被放在一起,以形成端对端或对接接头,将两个端部拼接在一起。因此,端部仅通过相邻端部区域上的未固化橡胶的粘性被保持在一起。金属加强帘线提供相对线性的压延的边缘,其适合用于由弹性体材料的粘性产生的对接拼接结合。

更具体地,所述设备具有用于提供期望长度的胶条的传送机。传递装置于是自动地从传送机移除胶条并将胶条置于对接接头上。
与本发明联用的第三方法将第一材料帘布层部段的端部放置在第一下齿条的齿之上,并且将第二材料帘布层部段的端部放置在第二下齿条的齿之上。接着,第一和第二材料帘布层部段被夹持在成对的上齿条和成对的下齿条之间。然后,所有第一上和下齿条的齿同时与所有第二上和下齿条的齿啮合,以将第一和第二材料帘布层的端部牢固地压在一起,从而形成将第一和第二材料帘布层拼接在一起的对接接头。所述第三方法通过提供具有期望长度的胶条并且然后自动地将胶条置于对接接头上,仅将胶条应用在第一制备帘布层的对接接头拼接端部之上。

具体实施方式
参照图4,在制备帘布层的生产线20中,可从压延辊(未示出)以已知方式供给压延的材料22的条。压延材料22可为0.040英寸至0.060英寸厚,并且具有由大体平行于压延的边缘26沿纵向延伸的金属或非金属材料制作的帘线24。非金属帘线24的刚度可小于金属帘线,致使压延的边缘26是非线性的和起伏的。压延的材料可被传送机28供给经过切割器30,其根据应用将压延的材料22切割至期望长度。所得的矩形件32然后可被传递到横向进料传送机34上。该件然后可沿下游方向35被传送到对接拼接机36,其在切割件32的压延的边缘26之间形成对接接头40,以形成连续制备帘布层条38。对接接头40可被各个胶条42加强,胶条被胶条应用器44放置在接头40之上。所得的连续制备帘布层条38可以以已知方式被收集在卷绕辊43上。连续制备帘布层条38可以具有非金属帘线24,非金属帘线24大体平行于对接接头40和胶条42,并且与制备帘布层条38的纵向轴线46横切。
为了此描述的目的,术语“下游”用于指代制备帘布层材料38通过对接拼接器36和胶带应用器44的运动方向(例如,在图4中看,从右至左)。术语“上游”用于指出沿相反方向的运动。被指为“下游”的对接拼接器36的部件比被指为“上游”的部件位于更靠近胶条应用器44的位置。

参照图7和8,对接拼接机36或对接拼接器可具有在对接拼接机的上游和下游侧支撑浮台70的框架72。成对的上齿条50和成对的下齿条52可被安装成横向地延伸跨过对接拼接机36的宽度。每对上齿条50可包括具有齿56的不可枢转的上游齿条54,该齿56可与可枢转的下游齿条60的齿58啮合。类似地,每对下齿条52可包括具有齿64的不可枢转的上游齿条62,该可齿64与可枢转的下游齿条68的齿66啮合。该对下齿条52可被固定成在立面紧邻台70,台70支撑由进料传送机34供给到对接拼接器36的切割条32。
每个上游上齿条54可被安装到相应的不可枢转的上游上颚式安装支架75的下端,该安装支架75被安装在滑道76上。滑道76可被可滑动地安装在线性导引件77上,线性导引件77被固定到框架72的成对的上横轨78上。每个下游上齿条60可被安装到相应的可枢转的下游上颚式安装支架79的下端。每个上颚式安装支架75、79的上端可机械地连接到夹持驱动器,该夹持驱动器包括相应的上夹持致动器82(例如,图8所示的气动气缸)。气缸82可被再安装到桁架95上,桁架95被安装到框架72上的齿轮箱97上。
齿轮箱97可由轴99连接并且由手轮101操作。因此,转动手轮101可调整气缸82和成对的上齿条50的竖直位置。每个颚式安装支架75、79的上端可以经由枢转销80枢转地连接到相应的气缸82的气缸杆81的远端。气缸82的同时操作可同时移动上颚式安装支架75、79和相应的成对的上齿条50向下朝向成对的下齿条52。逆转气缸82的操作可移动上齿条50远离下齿条52。
如图7所示,下游上齿条60可以凭借接合驱动器相对于相应的上游上齿条54枢转,该接合驱动器包括相应的上接合致动器83(例如,气动气缸)。具体地,气缸83可被安装在相应的下游上颚式安装支架79上;并且如图6所示,相应的气缸杆85的远端可连接到相应的相反的上游上颚式安装支架75。接合致动器83的同时操作可致使下游上颚式安装支架79和相应的下游上齿条60枢转朝向上游上颚式安装支架75和相应的上游上齿条54,由此使其相应的齿58、56啮合。逆转接合气缸83的操作可致使下游上齿条60同时移动远离后部上齿条54,由此使其相应的齿58、56不啮合。
每个上游下齿条62可被安装到相应的不可枢转的上游下颚式安装支架84的下端,安装支架84附接到成对的下横轨87上,横轨87被固定到框架72上。每个下游下齿条68可被安装到相应的可枢转的下游下颚式安装支架88的下端。每个下颚式安装支架84、88的上端可经由枢转销89枢转地连接。下游下齿条68可以凭借接合驱动器相对于相应的上游下齿条62枢转,该接合驱动器包括相应的下接合致动器90(例如,气动气缸)。具体地,致动器90可被安装在相应的下游下颚式安装支架88上;并且如图6所示,相应的气缸杆91的远端可连接到相应的上游下颚式安装支架84。接合致动器90的同时操作可致使下游下颚式安装支架88和相应的下游下齿条68枢转朝向上游下颚式安装支架84和相应的上游下齿条62,由此使其相应的齿66、64啮合。逆转接合致动器90的操作可致使下游下齿条68同时移动远离上游下齿条62,由此使其相应的齿66、64不啮合。
参照图9,可通过从源96传递加压空气的螺线管94的操作控制浮台70和气缸90、82、83的操作。可通过来自控制器98(例如,可编程逻辑控制器、微控制器等)的输出信号命令螺线管的操作状态。可通过输入装置(例如,用户1/0 100、边缘传感器102等)控制控制器98的操作。控制器98还可提供输出信号以命令进料传送机马达104(图2)和出料传送机马达106的操作,进料传送机马达104和出料传送机马达106操作相应的进料和出料传送机34、108。
可通过各种操作循环控制对接拼接器36的操作,该操作循环作为成组的子程序被编程到控制器98中。例如,第一子程序(图7)可在准备制作对接接头中在对接拼接器36中放置切割件32。图5的过程可开始于在对接拼接器36中的制备帘布层38和完成的对接接头。
参照图4、5、9和11,为了为下一次拼接放置制备帘布层38和新的切割件32,控制器98可在步骤502提供输出信号,该输出信号分别用以运行进料和出料传送机马达104、106。同时,控制器98可向螺线管94提供输出信号,用于调整状态并将加压空气传递到浮台70。因此,在与底下的支撑件具有最小摩擦的情况下,材料可在对接拼接器36上移动。进料和出料传送机34、108的同时操作可沿下游方向35移动制备帘布层条38,如图4、5和12所示。制备帘布层条38的运动可致使尾缘110(图12)在边缘传感器102的下面穿过,该边缘传感器102被安装在对接拼接器36上。在检测到尾缘110时,边缘传感器102可在步骤504向控制器98提供输出信号。
控制器98可监控出料传送机108的操作,以确定何时尾缘110已被移动到相对于下游下齿条68的齿66的期望位置。尾缘110被边缘传感器102感测到的点和尾缘110在下游下齿条68上的最终位置之间的距离可以是已知值。因此,出料传送机马达106的操作可被精确控制,使得当尾缘110处于其在下游下齿条68上的期望位置处时,出料传送机108停止。根据对接拼接器36的设计、齿条的齿深度、制备帘布层材料38的性质等,尾缘110的期望位置可以变化。
尾缘110的期望位置可从下游下齿条68的齿66的前缘回退。但是,在每个应用中,尾缘110的回退量可通过实验确定,并且可以是,例如,等于略小于齿66的一半长度的距离。检测尾缘110何时就位可通过若干方式来实现。在一种方式中,出料传送机马达106可具有附接到其上的编码器112,来自编码器的每个输出脉冲代表出料传送机108的位移增量。因此,控制器98可检测并计数来自编码器112的输出脉冲,并且在步骤506检测何时尾缘110处于其在下游下齿条68的齿66上的期望位置。在另一种方式中,如果出料传送机108的速度是固定的,则控制器98可启动内部计时器,计时器计数将尾缘110从其在边缘传感器102下方的位置移动到下游下齿条68的齿66上的期望位置所需的毫秒数。当控制器98在步骤506确定尾缘110处于其期望位置时,控制器可在步骤508向出料传送机马达106提供“停止”输出信号。此外,控制器98可提供输出信号切换螺线管94的状态,以从下游浮台70移除加压空气供应,由此为切割件38提供更刚性的支撑。
与移动制备帘布层38同时地,通过控制器98进行的进料传送机34的操作还可致使新的切割件32沿下游方向35朝向对接拼接器36移动。在检测到制备帘布层38的尾缘110之后,在步骤510,通过其输出改变状态,边缘传感器102可检测待被拼接到制备帘布层条38的下一切割件32的导缘114。当检测到状态改变之后,控制器98可开始计数来自与进料传送机马达104连接的编码器116的脉冲。通过计数编码器脉冲,控制器98可确定何时导缘114处于上游下齿条62的齿64上的期望位置。此外,根据对接拼接器36的设计、齿条的齿深度、制备帘布层材料的性质等,导缘114的期望位置可改变。可以参照尾缘110的期望位置按与以上描述的相同的方式确定导缘114的期望位置。
在步骤512,在检测到导缘114的期望位置时,控制器98可在步骤514向进料传送机马达104提供“停止”输出信号。进料传送机34和出料传送机108通常可具有大约相等的速度,或者出料传送机可比进料传送机略快地运行,以增大制备帘布层38的尾缘110和帘布层部段32的导缘114之间的间隙。
控制器98还可提供输出信号切换螺线管94的状态,用于从上游浮台70移除加压空气供应并且用于为切割件32提供更刚性的支撑。对此,边缘110、114可位于后部和前部下齿条68、62的相应的齿66、64上。
在边缘110、114处于期望位置处之后,对接拼接器36可形成联接制备帘布层条38与新的切割件32的对接拼接。参照图16,用于制作对接拼接的过程可开始于控制器98在步骤516向螺线管94提供输出信号,致使螺线管切换状态并且将加压空气排放到夹持气缸82。夹持气缸82可同时降低多个上齿条50,直到下游上齿条60接触制备帘布层条39的部分,该部分与被相应的下游下齿条68支撑的尾缘110相邻。
同时,上游上齿条54可接触切割条32的部分,该部分与被上游下齿条62支撑的导缘114相邻,如图13所示。可测量将上齿条54移动到其夹持位置所需的时间,并且控制器98可启用内部计时器等于该夹持操作时间那么长的时间。因此,当该时间到期时,控制器98于是可在步骤518确定成对的上齿条50已被移动到其相应的夹持位置。
之后,控制器98于是可在步骤520向螺线管94b、94c提供输出信号,改变那些螺线管的状态并将加压空气分别排放到上和下接合气缸83、90。接合气缸83、90可移动下游上和下齿条60、68朝向其相应的匹配的上游上和下齿条54、62。被夹持的下游上和下齿条60、68可沿上游方向117(图13)移动制备帘布层38,以使制备帘布层条的尾缘110成抵接关系地接触切割件导缘114。下游上和下齿条60、68的继续运动可坚定的推动制备帘布层条尾缘110靠在切割件导缘114,以形成对接拼接40(图14)。弹性体材料的粘性可保持切割件导缘114接触制备帘布层条尾缘110。该运动可继续,直到相应下游上和下齿条60、68的齿58、66与相应上游上和下齿条54、62的齿56、64完全啮合,如图14所示。
如前所述,在步骤522,控制器98可确定下游上和下齿条60、68与相应上游上和下齿条54、62完全啮合。控制器98于是可在步骤524提供输出信号切换螺线管94a的状态,由此逆转将加压空气排放到夹持气缸82。夹持气缸82的致动可致使成对的上齿条50上升并返回未受阻位置,如图15所示。紧接其后,控制器98可在步骤526向螺线管94b、94c提供输出信号切换上和下接合气缸83、90的状态,由此移动下游上和下齿条60和68沿下游方向35远离上游上和下齿条54、62。此操作可致使齿条打开至图12所示的位置。
当下游上和下齿条60和68朝向相应的上游齿条54、62移动时,下游齿条60和68和制备帘布层38可同时移动。但是,在制备帘布层尾缘110接触切割件导缘114时,下游上和下齿条60和68可具有相对于制备帘布层条38的相对运动,并因此必须在制备帘布层条38的主要表面上滑动,而不引起损伤。枢转的下游齿条60、68的侧面93可涂覆有聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)材料。此外,下游上和下齿条60和68的齿在其接触导缘(即表面92)处倾斜。倾斜表面92的配置可以被根据并且随帘布层材料的性质、齿条的长度等应用并随之改变。倾斜表面92可相对于齿条的侧表面93具有约10°的角度或约20°的角度。提供最佳性能的角度通过实验确定。类似地,倾斜表面92的期望长度和距侧表面93的期望深度也可通过实验确定。这种倾斜表面92可促进下游齿条60、68在制备帘布层条38上的滑动运动,而不会刨削或以其他方式引起损伤。
对接拼接器36可具有多数成对的上和下齿条50、52,以便获得,相对于如果上和下齿条50、52连续延伸横跨对接拼接器36的整个宽度的情况下,更一致、更高品质的对接拼接。通过将上齿条54、60非刚性地安装到相应的上颚式安装支架75、79上,可进一步改进对接拼接的可靠性和品质。齿条54、60的非刚性安装可以是相同的;并且图17示出了将齿条54安装到颚式安装支架75上。肩部螺栓122可延伸通过颚式安装支架75中的狭槽123,并螺纹接合齿条54。因此,齿条54可非刚性地被安装到相应的颚式安装支架75,但是也可相对于颚式安装支架75自由移动一定量,该量取决于狭槽123的尺寸。此外,颚式安装支架75的端部可具有延伸横跨颚式安装支架75的宽度的大体L形凹口124。狭槽123可与第一凹口表面125交叉,其接触齿条54的后表面。凹口124的垂直表面126可以是弯曲的(例如,30英寸半径),以允许齿条54在其上摇摆。这种将上齿条54、60非刚性地安装到相应的颚式安装支架75、79上可显著改进对接拼接40的品质。
对接拼接器36的操作可在形成制备帘布层条时提供可靠的且高品质的对接接头。此外,对接拼接器36可形成大体垂直于进料传送机34的对接拼接,以及相对于与进料传送机垂直的线偏斜的或稍成角度的对接拼接。参照图6,对接拼接器36的框架72的向前腿131可被枢转地安装到基板132。框架72的向后腿(未示出)可由骑在基板132上的脚轮133支撑。滚珠丝杠和螺母组件134可将向后腿和手轮135连接起来。转动手轮135可旋转滚珠丝杠并致使螺母枢转地附接到框架72的向后腿上,以沿滚珠丝杠行进。当螺母移动时,框架72的向后腿可相对于向前腿131枢转,由此使成排上的和下齿条50、52相对于与进料传送机34的纵向中心线垂直的线偏斜。与手轮135相连的指示器可以被校准在一度的增量。允许框架72枢转通过达约10度的角度对于多数应用是足够的。
对接接头在轮胎制造过程期间可以更坚固且更稳定,如果该对接接头覆盖有垂直横跨对接接头铺设的胶条。为了高效地操作,胶条应用器44可与接头拼接器36同时操作。因此,胶条应用器44可相对于对接拼接器36位于,使得在制备帘布层尾缘被定位在对接拼接器36处的同时,最新形成的对接拼接可为定位于适合胶条应用器44将要应用的胶条的位置。
参照图18,出料传送机108可由基座126支撑。胶条应用器44可具有由基座128和腿129独立支撑的框架127。因此,出料传送机108和胶条应用器44可相对于对接拼接器36独立地放置。胶条应用器44可被放置成,使得当在对接拼接器36上形成对接拼接时,之前制作的对接拼接可位于出料传送机108上的位置140处,该位置允许胶条应用器44将胶条应用到之前制作的对接拼接上。参照图19,胶条应用器44可具有胶条传送机142和真空头组件144。真空头组件144可具有两个自由度,允许从条传送机142移除胶条以及将对接拼接放置在上游位置140处。
参照图20,X轴水平驱动马达146可机械地连接到滚珠丝杠148的一端;并且链齿轮150可被安装在滚珠丝杠148的相反端上,用于操作性地接合同步带152。同步带152还可连接到被安装在第二滚珠丝杠156的一端上的第二链齿轮154。滚珠丝杠148、156可具有相应的滚珠螺母158、160,滚珠螺母158、160支撑和承载承载架162,线性轴承163支撑承载架162并且导引其线性地运动。如图20所示,承载架162可支撑真空头组件144。真空头组件144的长度可大体等于对接拼接的长度(例如,制备帘布层条的整个宽度)。水平驱动马达146的旋转可同时移动滚珠螺母158、160(图20)、承载架162和真空头组件144沿大体平行于制备帘布层条的纵向轴线的水平方向。
参照图21,Z轴竖直驱动马达164可被安装在承载架162上并由它支撑,并且可机械地连接到第一滚珠丝杠166的一端。第一同步链齿轮168可被安装在第一滚珠丝杠166的相反端上,并且操作性地啮合同步带170,同步带170也啮合被安装在第二滚珠丝杠174的一端上的链齿轮172。第一和第二滚珠螺母176、178可被可旋转地安装在相应的滚珠丝杠166、178上并且连接到真空头室(vacuum head plenum)180,线性轴承181导引真空头室180线性地运动。
参照图19,真空头182可由被固定到室180的竖直柱184支撑。偏置部件,诸如压缩弹簧181,可被安装在柱184上在真空头182和室180之间。真空头182可具有基本横跨出料传送机108的整个宽度以及制备帘布层条中的对接拼接的长度的长度。因此,竖直驱动马达164的操作可升高出料传送机108下方的真空室180和真空头182。
参照图10,控制器98可向条传送机马达186提供输出信号并且从条传送机编码器188接收输入脉冲,由此控制器98可确定条传送机142的线性运动。类似地,响应于命令水平和竖直驱动马达146、164的输出信号,控制器98可从编码器190、192接收代表真空头182的运动的反馈信号。控制器98还可操作性地连接到向室180应用部分真空压力的真空泵194。真空头182可凭借真空释放阀196应用和释放真空,真空释放阀196连接真空头室180和真空头182。当处于其第一状态时,阀196可相对于大气关闭真空头182并相对于180打开它,由此向真空头182应用部分真空。在其相反的第二状态,阀196可关闭真空头182和室180之间的连接,并且相对于大气打开真空头,由此耗散其内的部分真空。控制器98还可连接到用于改变刀气缸198的状态的螺线管94e,由此操作胶条制备装备48上的刀200(图5),将胶条切割至期望长度。
可存在由胶条应用器44执行的三个独立但协调的操作或子程序。参照图19,首先胶条42可被传送机142移动至准备传递到真空头182的位置。第二操作允许真空头182从传送机142拾取胶条并且准备将胶条应用到对接接头。第三操作可在对接接头已被移动到期望位置140(图18)之后将胶条应用到对接接头。参照图10、19和22,为了将胶条切割至一定长度,控制器98可在步骤552提供输出信号以操作条传送机马达186,由此致使条传送机142供给胶条。
在供给胶条42时,控制器98可监控并计数来自条传送机编码器188的输出脉冲。当控制器98在步骤554计数得出等于胶条的期望长度的一定量脉冲时,控制器可在步骤556向条传送机马达186提供“停止”输出信号。其后,控制器98可在步骤558提供输出信号命令螺线管94e改变状态,由此将加压空气排放到刀气缸198并操作刀200。紧随其后,来自控制器98的输出信号可改变状态,由此逆转螺线管94e的状态并使刀气缸198返回其初始位置。刀气缸198的操作可使刀200往复运动并建立用于胶条145的切割端。此动作可在条传送机142上提供具有期望长度(例如,对接条40的长度)的胶条。
其后,控制器98可在步骤560向条传送机马达186提供“开始”输出信号;并且条传送机142可输送胶条42横跨出料传送机108的宽度。此外,控制器98可监控并计数来自条传送机编码器188的输出脉冲,并确定何时被切割的胶条处于其期望位置。当在步骤562检测到该位置时,控制器98可在步骤564向条传送机马达186提供“停止”输出信号。此时,期望长度的胶条42可位于条传送机142上并在准备被真空头182拾取的位置处。
参照图10、18和23,为了从胶条传送机142拾取胶条,真空头182可被抬高,并且承载架162可被定位为使真空头182位于下游位置的胶条传送机142上方的准备拾取胶条处。控制器98可在步骤565向真空释放阀196提供输出信号,以相对于大气关闭真空头182并且相对于室180打开真空头。于是真空可被应用于真空头182。控制器98在步骤565还可向Z轴竖直驱动马达164提供输出信号,由此沿朝向胶条传送机142竖直向下地移动真空头182的方向旋转滚珠丝杠166、174。控制器98可监控并计数来自竖直驱动编码器192的输出脉冲,并且在步骤566检测何时真空头182处于其紧邻地在条传送机142上方的期望位置。在该位置,真空头182可充分接近条传送机142,使得真空头182可将胶条抬离胶条传送机142。
控制器98于是可在步骤567向Z轴竖直驱动马达164和X轴水平驱动马达146提供输出信号,致使真空头182移动到在对接接头所位于的位置140的紧邻地上方的准备位置。控制器98可被编程为,首先操作竖直驱动马达164以升高真空头182,其后操作水平驱动马达146以将真空头182水平地移动到对接接头位置140之上的准备位置。替代性地,在其他应用中,马达146、164可同时操作以将真空头182移动到准备位置。
控制器98可按前述方式监控来自编码器190、192的输出脉冲,以在步骤568检测真空头182是否处于准备位置。其后,控制器98可在步骤569向马达146、164中的一个或两个提供输出信号,命令其在准备位置停止真空头182。
参照图10、18、19和24,为了向对接接头应用胶条,对接接头可被移动到处于准备位置的真空头182下面的位置140。控制器98可在步骤572向Z轴竖直驱动马达166提供输出信号,以沿致使真空头182下降到制备帘布层条38上并与其接触的方向旋转滚珠丝杠166、174。胶条可具有延伸通过对接拼接的大体整个长度的长度。此外,胶条可具有延伸横跨对接接头40并且越过对接拼接的两侧上的主要表面的部分的宽度。真空头182可被有弹性地和可移动地安装到真空头室180。因此,当竖直驱动马达164继续向下移动室182时,真空头182可接触制备帘布层条38,并且弹簧181可相对真空头182应用向下偏置力,由此相对胶条42应用期望的应用力。该力可通过弹簧181的弹簧常数确定,并且可有效地致使胶条42上的粘合剂更好地粘附到制备帘布层条38。
此外,控制器98可监控来自编码器190的输出脉冲,并且在步骤573检测何时真空头182已经被移动到其最低位置。其后,控制器98可在步骤574向竖直驱动马达164提供“停止”输出信号。此外,控制器98可向真空释放阀196提供输出信号改变阀的状态,使得真空头室180和真空头182之间的流体连接被阻塞,并且相对于大气打开真空头182。此时,控制器98可允许真空头182保持处于其最低位置,并且允许胶条上的粘合剂凝固。这种时间可由控制器98中的内部计时器确定,并且可被设定成从零秒至任何期望的秒数。
其后,控制器98可在步骤575提供输出信号,命令驱动马达146、162将真空头182移回胶条传送机142上方的拾取位置。如上所述,控制器98可监控编码器190、192,以在步骤576检测何时真空头182处于拾取位置;并且其后,在步骤577,控制器可向驱动马达146、164提供“停止”输出信号。
如上所述,期望的是,胶条应用器44与对接拼接器36同时操作,以在在最新形成的对接拼接40之上应用胶条42,此时对接拼接器将下一切割件32拼接到制备帘布层条38。因此,在对接拼接40被移动到位置140之前,胶条应用器44可准备待应用的胶条42。
以上过程和子程序中的若干个可同时发生。例如,在正在制作对接拼接40(图16)以及胶条42正在被应用在之前制作的对接拼接上(图24)时,另一胶条42可被切割至一定尺寸并被移动到胶条应用器44中(图22和23)。图25是用于控制器89的程序的状态图,其允许若干操作或子程序同时操作。
如果在步骤580胶条传送机142上没有胶条42,则控制器98可在步骤581执行图22的子程序,以将胶条切割至一定长度。如果胶条42位于传送机142上,则控制器98可在步骤582确定真空头182是否是空的;并且如果是空的,则可在步骤583执行图23的子程序,以从传送机142拾取胶条。如果真空头182持有胶条42,则控制器98在步骤584可确定对接拼接40是否就位并准备被制作。如果是的话,控制器在步骤585、586可通过执行图16的对接拼接子程序进行制作对接拼接40,并且同时通过执行图24的子程序向之前制作的对接拼接40应用胶条42。如果控制器98在任何时刻在步骤584检测到对接拼接40未就位并且未准备好被制作,则控制器可通过执行图11的定位制备帘布层子程序将新的切割件32带到对接拼接器36。
胶条应用器44的位置可相对于对接拼接器36进行调整,以适应被供应到进料传送机34的压延的材料的不同宽度。参照图19,胶条应用器框架127的每个侧面可具有凹槽辊136,该凹槽辊136被安装到线性导引件137的相反侧上,线性导引件137被附接到基座128。如图18所示,滚珠丝杠和螺母组件138可被安装到基座128。手轮139可操作性地连接到滚珠丝杠螺母,并且可以可旋转地被安装到框架127。手轮139的旋转可旋转滚珠丝杠螺母,以相对于基座128和对接拼接器36移动框架127和由其支撑的部件。因此,可以容易地适应不同宽度的压延的材料。当框架127和胶条传送机142的位置改变时,还可调整胶条42从制备装备48(图5)的供给,例如,通过移动制备装备的位置。
当制作大型(例如,大于30’’)充气轮胎时,如上所述,压延的线处理结构(wiretreatment)可被缝合在一起,以制作足够大以包围轮胎成型鼓的胎体带。大型充气轮胎(57’’和63’’轮辋直径)可具有被缝合在一起的五片或六片压延的材料。例如,具有五片的充气轮胎可具有四个预备拼接(prep splice)和一个建造者拼接(builders splice)。预备拼接可以是均匀且一致的,这些拼接被精密机械切割、对齐和“拉链式”缝合。建造者拼接结构可以是不一致的,因为此拼接被手工切割、对齐和拉链式缝合。在固化的充气轮胎中,完美的拼接可实现均匀的间隔,接近“如压延的”一件式材料所实现的那样。这被称作100%间隔。如果经拉链式缝合的材料扩展的距离大于相邻帘线之间的距离,则拼接可在百分比拉伸水平的基础上评估。接近100%间隔的拼接产生增加的轮胎外胎的耐用性。
如上所述,常规方法依靠人类轮胎建造者手动在钢帘线之间切割帘布层处理结构,割开这些帘线之间的橡胶,其可仅为0.040’’英寸厚。这可导致不一致的剩余橡胶量被缝合在一起以及间隔变化很大的拼接。根据本发明的拼接可允许人类轮胎建造者在帘布层处理结构中使用线帘线(wire cords)用作导引件,用于切割待联接的每个侧面使其与线帘线齐平,由此不在待被缝合的拼接内留下材料。0.020’’缠绕胶条可围绕导引帘线被应用到拼接结构的两侧,在待被拉链式缝合的导引帘线之间产生均匀的规格尺寸。这可显著改进拼接的品质和一致性。
如图1-3所示,待被联接的两个帘布层211、212的两个边缘221、222可被刮削,使得在边缘处露出最靠近的线帘线233(图1)。这些帘布层211、212可具有大体均匀的线帘线间的间隔W1。然后,仅一个边缘221可被具有标称厚度WS的胶条244缠绕,标称厚度WS等于帘布层211、212的线帘线之间的间隔W1(图2)。胶条244可以是比橡胶或帘布层211、212的基底或材料软至少20%的材料。胶条244可缠绕边缘221,使得胶条在剖面中形成U形结构,其允许胶条从帘布层211的第一侧越过该帘布层的边缘221延伸到该帘布层211的第二侧(图2)。边缘221可被放置成与另一帘布层212成抵接关系,并且胶条244位于其间(图3)。帘布层211、212可由此被缝合在一起,同时保留或保持线帘线之间均匀的间隔W1。这些缝合255中的每个可从第一帘布层211的第一平面侧延伸到第二帘布层212的第一平面侧,并且从胶条244延伸到第二帘布层的第一平面侧(图3)。
虽然已经通过描述各种例子说明了本发明并且虽然已经相当详细地描述了这些例子,但是申请人并未意图以任何方式将所附权利要求的范围限制于这种细节。本领域技术人员容易想到其他优点和修改。例如,在所描述的例子中,接合致动器85、90和夹持致动器82被描述为气动气缸;如应该明白的,在替代性例子中,那些致动器可以是液压致动器或电机驱动系统或其他合适的驱动系统。
因此,本发明在其更广义的方面不受限于所示出和所描述的具体细节。因此,可对本文描述的细节进行更改而不还离开随后的权利要求的精神和范围。

Claims (10)

1.一种用于在第一帘布层和第二帘布层的端部之间形成对接接头并且将所述第一帘布层和第二帘布层拼接在一起的方法,所述方法其特征在于:
将第一帘布层的第一拼接边缘放置在第一位置;
将第二帘布层的第二拼接边缘放置在第二位置;
将胶条缠绕在所述第一拼接边缘上,使得第一胶条在剖面中形成U形结构,允许所述第一胶条从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧越过所述第一拼接边缘延伸到所述第一帘布层的第二相反平面侧;
不在所述第二拼接边缘上缠绕胶条;
将所述第一拼接边缘与所述第二拼接边缘置为抵接关系;
将所述第一拼接边缘缝合到所述第二拼接边缘,使得每个缝合从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧,通过所述胶条,延伸到所述第二帘布层的第一平面侧;以及
将所述第一拼接边缘固化到所述第二拼接边缘。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一帘布层和第二帘布层都具有间隔开预定距离的平行线帘线。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,每个所述第一胶条和第二胶条具有等于所述第一帘布层和第二帘布层的所述预定距离的厚度。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,每个缝合从所述第一胶条延伸到所述第二帘布层的第一平面侧。
5.一种形成用于制作车辆轮胎的类型的连续材料帘布层的方法,所述连续材料帘布层通过联接多个帘布层而被制作,所述方法其特征在于:
将第一帘布层的第一拼接边缘放置在第一位置;
将第二帘布层的第二拼接边缘放置在第二位置;
将胶条缠绕在所述第一拼接边缘上,使得所述胶条在剖面中形成U形结构,以允许所述胶条从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧越过所述第一拼接边缘延伸到所述第一帘布层的第二相反平面侧;
不在所述第二拼接边缘上缠绕胶条;
将所述第一拼接边缘与所述第二拼接边缘在第三位置置为抵接关系;
将所述第一拼接边缘缝合到所述第二拼接边缘,使得每个缝合从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧,通过所述胶条,延伸到所述第二帘布层的第一平面侧;以及
将所述第一拼接边缘固化到所述第二拼接边缘。
6.如权利要求5所述的方法,其进一步特征在于:
提供具有齿并且端对端延伸的成对的上齿条,并且具有能够相对于第二上齿条移动的第一上齿条;
提供具有齿并且端对端延伸的成对的下齿条,所述成对的下齿条与所述成对的上齿条相邻,所述成对的下齿条具有能够相对于第二下齿条移动的第一下齿条;
将所述第一帘布层的第一边缘放置在所述第一下齿条的齿之上;
将所述第二帘布层的第二边缘放置在所述第二下齿条的齿之上;
将所述第一帘布层和第二帘布层夹持在所述成对的上齿条和所述成对的下齿条之间;
使所有第一上齿条的齿与所有第二上齿条的齿同时啮合;并且使所有第一下齿条的齿同时啮合所有第二下齿条的齿,以将所述第一帘布层的第一边缘牢固地压靠到所述第二帘布层的第二边缘,以将所述第一帘布层和第二帘布层拼接在一起。
7.一种形成用于制作车辆轮胎的类型的连续材料帘布层的系统,所述连续材料帘布层通过联接多个帘布层而被制作,所述系统其特征在于:
处于第一位置的第一帘布层的第一拼接边缘;
处于第二位置的第二帘布层的第二拼接边缘,所述第二拼接边缘无遮盖;
胶条,所述胶条被缠绕在所述第一拼接边缘上,使得所述胶条在剖面中形成u形结构,以允许所述胶条从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧越过所述第一拼接边缘延伸到所述第一帘布层的第二相反平面侧;
所述第一拼接边缘与所述第二拼接边缘在第三位置被置为抵接关系;
所述第一拼接边缘被缝合到所述第二拼接边缘,使得每个缝合从所述第一帘布层的第一平面侧,通过所述胶条,延伸到所述第二帘布层的第一平面侧;以及
所述第一拼接边缘被固化到所述第二拼接边缘。
8.如权利要求7所述的系统,其进一步特征在于,用于在对接接头处应用第一胶条和第二胶条的设备,由此将第一边缘拼接到第二边缘,所述设备包括:
用于提供具有期望长度和厚度的胶条的传送机;以及
用于自动地从所述传送机移除所述胶条并且将所述胶条置于所述对接接头处的传递装置。
9.如权利要求8所述的系统,其特征在于,所述传递装置包括真空头。
10.如权利要求9所述的系统,其特征在于,所述真空头被有弹性地安装到所述传递装置,以在所述胶条被置于所述对接接头处时相对所述胶条提供力。
