图1的显示器1是圆形的非四边形显示器,并且连接至显示板20的驱动IC10的边部是线状的。然而,本发明并不仅限于此,并且其形状随设计而变。也就是说,示例性实施方式适用于由相关技术领域的四边形显示器的不同形状导致的在多个栅极线之间有长度偏差并且多个数据线之间有长度偏差的非四边形显示器。
显示器1包括显示板20和驱动IC10。形成有多个像素的显示单元30位于显示板20上,并且驱动IC10包括数据驱动电路200、第一栅极驱动电路300和第二栅极驱动电路400(参照图3)。
显示板20包括多个栅极线S1-S17、多个数据线D1-D20、多个信号供给线的G1-G17(参照图3)以及多个像素。每个像素各自连接至栅极线S1-S17中的一个以及数据线D1-D20中的一个。
图1的虚线框示出了其中可形成像素的区域。在位于显示单元30上的多个像素中,连接至第八栅极线S8和第九数据线D9的像素PX以实线框示出。如图1所示,像素PX电连接至对应的栅极线S8和数据线D9,并且可通过栅极线S8接收栅极信号以及通过数据线D9接收数据信号。
图2示出了根据本发明的示例性实施方式的像素。
像素PX被示出为包括有机发光二级管OLED,但本发明并不仅限于此。像素PX可包括不同于有机发光二级管OLED的液晶元件。此外,图2示出了像素电路(包括开关晶体管M2、驱动晶体管M1以及电容Cst),并且用于驱动机发光二级管OLED的像素电路并不仅限于此。
如图2所示,开关晶体管M2包括连接至栅极线S8的栅极电极、连接至数据线D9的第一电极以及连接至驱动晶体管M1的栅极电极的第二电极。电压ELVDD施加至驱动晶体管M1的第一电极,并且在驱动晶体管M1的栅极和第一电极之间连接有电容Cst。驱动晶体管M1的第二电极连接至有机发光二级管OLED的阳极,并且有机发光二级管OLED的阴极连接至电压源ELVSS。
开关晶体管M2根据通过栅极线S8施加的栅极信号而导通,并且当开关晶体管M2导通时,将经由数据线D9施加的数据信号编程至驱动晶体管M1的栅极电极,并且由电容Cst来维持经过编程的电压。
如图1所示,在显示单元30上,多个栅极线S1-S17形成为沿着第一方向延伸(例如沿着x轴方向延伸),并且多个数据线D1-D20形成为沿着与第一方向交叉的第二方向延伸(例如,沿着y轴方向延伸)。
数据驱动电路200生成多个数据信号,并同步于输入至多个栅极线S1-S17的栅极信号的启用时间,并且数据驱动电路200向多个数据线D1-D20提供多个数据信号。
多个信号供给线连接至多个栅极线S1-S17。下面将参照图3描述栅极驱动电路。
图3示出了根据本发明的示例性实施方式的多个栅极线和多个信号供给线。
如图3所示,驱动IC10还包括第一栅极驱动电路300和第二栅极驱动电路400,并且显示板20还包括沿着与第一方向交叉的第二方向延伸(例如沿着y轴方向延伸)的多个信号供给线G1-G17。
驱动IC10在本示例性实施方式中被描述为包括两个栅极驱动电路300和400。然而,并不受此限制的是,驱动IC10可包括多个栅极驱动电路,例如四个栅极驱动电路。可以根据形成在显示板20上的多个信号供给线的数量来确定栅极驱动电路的数量。
形成有多个信号供给线G1-G17的层可以与形成有多个栅极线S1-S17的层不同,并且对应的栅极线可以在(通过)多个触点P1-P17连接至信号供给线。多个触点P1-P17中的每一个可以配置有触孔和在触孔中形成的接触电极,但在实践中触点并不仅限于此。
形成有图1所示的多个数据线D1-D20的层可以与形成有多个栅极线S1-S17的层不同,并且形成有多个数据线D1-D20的层可以与形成有多个信号供给线G1-G17的层相同。本发明并不仅限于此,并且形成有多个数据线D1-D20的层可以与形成有多个信号供给线G1-G17的层不相同。
第一栅极驱动电路300连接至多个信号供给线G1-G9,并且为多个信号供给线G1-G9生成多个栅极信号并将其输出。第二栅极驱动电路400连接至多个信号供给线G10-G17,并且为多个信号供给线G10-G17生成多个栅极信号并将其输出。
多个信号供给线G1-G9通过多个触点P1、P3…P17连接至多个栅极线S1、S3、…、S17。多个信号供给线G10-G17通过多个触点P2、P4、…、P16连接至多个栅极线S2、S4、…、S16。
例如,信号供给线G1通过触点P17连接至栅极线S17,信号供给线G2通过触点P15连接至栅极线S15,信号供给线G8通过触点P3连接至栅极线S3,以及信号供给线G9通过触点P1连接至栅极线S1。信号供给线G10通过触点P2连接至栅极线S2,信号供给线G11通过触点P4连接至栅极线S4,信号供给线G16通过触点P14连接至栅极线S14,以及信号供给线G17通过触点P16连接至栅极线S16。
在图3中示出了,奇数编号的栅极线连接至多个信号供给线G1-G9,而偶数编号的栅极线连接至多个信号供给线G10-G17,但是本发明并不仅限于此。
在图3中,多个触点P1、P3、P5、…、P17中的一个(例如P1),以及多个触点P2、P4、P6、…、P16中的一个(例如P2)相对于中心的参考线(RL)接近于彼此对称(在下文中称为相似对称)。在x轴方向上,将多个触点P1、P3、P5、…、P17形成为依次地远离参考线(RL)。在x轴方向上,将多个触点P2、P4、P6、…、P16形成为依次地远离参考线(RL)。
例如,触点P1和触点P2在x轴方向上相对于参考线(RL)的距离相同,并且在y轴方向上相邻(接近或靠近)。因此,信号供给线G9和栅极线S1之间的负载(下文中称为线性负载)与信号供给线G10和栅极线S2之间的线性负载之间的差别基本非常小。更详细地说,可以将对应于触点P1的线性负载与对应于触点P2的线性负载之间的差别设置为小于设置或预定的临界值。通过类似的方式,触点P3和触点P4、触点P5和触点P6…以及触点P15和触点P16彼此对应,并且连接至两个对应触点的线性负载之间的差别非常小。两个对应触点之间的位置上的关系将被称为相似对称关系。
图1和图3中示出的栅极线和信号供给线的数量为17,虽然没有示出具有与触点P17相似对称的位置关系的触点,但根据栅极线和信号供给线的数量,显然可存在与触点P17具有相似对称关系的触点。
因此,在x轴和y轴方向上相邻的触点之中,对应的线性负载彼此相似以实现负载匹配。用于在线性负载之间进行负载匹配的虚拟负载有所减少,这将简化设计。虚拟负载指的是电连接至线路以匹配线路之间的负载的负载。
可以根据图3所示的配置来控制用于启用多个栅极信号的时间。也就是说,可以鉴于负载匹配来设计启用栅极信号的顺序。
例如,信号供给线G9和栅极线S1的线性负载与信号供给线G10和栅极线S2的线性负载相似,因此可以连续地启用施加至栅极线S1的栅极信号和施加至栅极线S2的栅极信号。启用施加至栅极线S3的栅极信号,并启用施加至栅极线S4的栅极信号。根据上述的方法,可以启用施加至栅极线S16的栅极信号和启用施加至栅极线S17的栅极信号。可以通过相反的顺序来实现该方法。
下面将参照图4和图5描述根据图3所示的连接状态的可操作的第一栅极驱动电路300和第二栅极驱动电路400。
图4示出了多个栅极信号的波形图。
栅极信号g[1]至g[17]依次地施加至多个栅极线S1-S17。
第一栅极驱动电路300依次生成奇数编号的栅极信号g[2k-1](k是1-9的自然数)并且将其施加至多个信号供给线G1-G9。例如,第一栅极驱动电路300生成栅极信号g[1]并将其施加至信号供给线G9,生成栅极信号g[3]并将其施加至信号供给线G8,生成栅极信号g[15]并将其施加至信号供给线G2,以及生成栅极信号g[17]并将其施加至信号供给线G1。
第二栅极驱动电路400依次生成偶数编号的栅极信号g[2k](k是1-8的自然数)并且将其施加至多个信号供给线G10-G17。例如,第二栅极驱动电路400生成栅极信号g[2]并将其施加至信号供给线G10,生成栅极信号g[4]并将其施加至信号供给线G11,生成栅极信号g[14]并将其施加至信号供给线G16,以及生成栅极信号g[16]并将其施加至信号供给线G17。
如上所述,第一栅极驱动电路300和第二栅极驱动400根据图3中示出的信号供给线和栅极线之间的连接关系交替地启用对应的栅极信号。
具有启用电平的栅极信号以S1->S2->S3->S4…->S17的顺序依次地施加。在时序方式中,对应于施加有具有启动电平的栅极信号的触点的线性负载是相似的。在本实例中,“相似”可以表示对应于在时间上连续地施加有栅极信号的触点的线性负载之间的负载差别可以小于设定或预定的临界值。因此,可以防止线性负载在时间上的急剧变化,从而防止图像质量的退化。
用于启用栅极信号的顺序可以与图4的波形不同。
图5示出了用于指示栅极信号的启用顺序的示例性变化的波形图。
图5中所示的波形图是图4所示的倒序。栅极信号g[17]至g[1]依次地施加至多个栅极线S1-S17。第一栅极驱动电路300以与图4相反的顺序依次生成奇数编号的栅极信号g[2k-1](k是1-9的自然数)并且将其施加至多个信号供给线G1-G9。例如,第一栅极驱动电路300生成栅极信号g[17]并将其施加至信号供给线G1,生成栅极信号g[15]并将其施加至信号供给线G2,生成栅极信号g[3]并将其施加至信号供给线G8,以及生成栅极信号g[1]并将其施加至信号供给线G9。
第二栅极驱动电路400以与图4相反的顺序依次生成偶数编号的栅极信号g[2k](k是1-8的自然数)并且将其施加至多个信号供给线G10-G17。例如,第二栅极驱动电路400生成栅极信号g[16]并将其施加至信号供给线G17,生成栅极信号g[14]并将其施加至信号供给线G16,生成栅极信号g[4]并将其施加至信号供给线G11,以及生成栅极信号g[2]并将其施加至信号供给线G10。
如上所述,第一栅极驱动电路300和第二栅极驱动400根据图3中示出的信号供给线和栅极线之间的连接关系交替地启用对应的栅极信号。
具有启用电平的栅极信号以S17->S16->S15->S14…->S1的顺序依次施加。和图4相比,虽然顺序相反但效果相同。在时序方法中,对应于施加有具有启动电平的栅极信号的触点的线性负载是相似的。因此,可以防止线性负载在时间上的急剧变化,从而防止图像质量的退化。
参照示例性实施方式描述了用于在非四边形显示器中提供匹配线性负载的配置以及其驱动方法。为了对示例性实施方式进行描述,描述了信号供给线、栅极线以及数据线的数量,但是这些数量并不受此限制。
此外,将多个栅极线分组并分为奇数编号的线和偶数编号的线,但并不仅限于此。当提供了四个栅极驱动电路时,可以将多个栅极线分组以使其对应于各自的栅极驱动电路。
例如,驱动IC可包括用于向触点P1、触点P5、…、触点17提供栅极信号的栅极驱动电路;用于向触点P2、触点P6、…、触点P14提供栅极信号的栅极驱动电路;用于向触点P3、触点P7、…、触点P15提供栅极信号的栅极驱动电路;以及用于向触点P4、触点P8、…、触点P16提供栅极驱动信号的栅极驱动电路。在这种情况中,可以将多个栅极线分组以使其对应于各自的栅极驱动电路。用于启用栅极信号的顺序可以遵循参照图4和图5描述的示例性实施方式。
如上所述,可以容易地设计虚拟负载,并且减小其尺寸,从而可以容易地在显示板的外侧上设计静电放电(ESD)电路。
根据在本文中描述的本发明实施方式的显示器和/或任何其他相关设备或部件可以利用任何适合的硬件,固件(例如专用集成电路),软件,或软件、固件和硬件的组合实施。例如,可以在一个集成电路(IC)芯片或分开的IC芯片上形成显示器的各种部件。此外,可以在柔性印刷电路板膜、带状载体封装(TCP)、印刷电路板(PCB)上实施或在衬底上形成显示器的各种部件。此外,显示器的各种部件可以是运行在一个或多个处理器上或者是在一个或多个计算机设备中,执行计算机程序指令并且与其他系统部件相互作用的,用于执行本文描述的各种功能的处理或线程。计算机程序指令存储在存储器中,该存储器可以在使用诸如随机存取存储器(RAM)的标准存储设备的计算设备中实施。计算机程序指令也可以存储在其他永久计算机可读媒介中,例如CD-ROM、闪存驱动等等。同样,本领域技术人员可以理解,在不背离本发明的示例性实施方式的前提下,各种计算设备的功能可以组合或集成为单个计算设备,或者特定计算设备的功能可以分布在一个或多个其他计算设备中。
虽然结合了当前可实践的示例性实施方式来描述本发明,但是应该理解的是,本发明并不仅限于所公开的实施方式,相反,其旨在覆盖包括在权利要求的精神和范围及其等同范围内的各种变化和等同布局。

Claims (15)

1.一种非四边形显示器,包括:
多个栅极线,沿着第一方向延伸;
多个信号供给线,沿着与所述第一方向交叉的第二方向延伸,并且通过多个触点中的对应触点连接至各自的栅极线;以及
显示单元,包括连接至所述栅极线的多个像素,
其中,基于连接至所述多个触点中的两个对应触点的信号供给线和栅极线的线性负载之间的差别小于设定或预定的临界值。
2.如权利要求1所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述两个对应触点在所述第一方向上相对于所述显示单元的中心的距离相等,并且在所述第二方向上相邻。
3.如权利要求1所述的非四边形显示器,其中,形成有所述栅极线的层与形成有所述信号供给线的层不同。
4.如权利要求1所述的非四边形显示器,还包括:
多个数据线,沿着所述第二方向延伸,并且连接至所述多个像素中的对应的像素。
5.如权利要求1所述的非四边形显示器,其中,
所述多个栅极线彼此在所述第二方向上排列;以及
所述多个信号供给线彼此在所述第一方向上排列。
6.如权利要求5所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述触点包括:
多个第一触点,位于相对于所述显示单元的中心的第一侧,以及
多个第二触点,位于相对于所述显示单元的中心的第二侧。
7.如权利要求6所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述多个第一触点在所述第一方向上逐渐远离所述中心,并且相互分别在所述第二方向上排列布置。
8.如权利要求6所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述多个第二触点在所述第一方向上逐渐远离所述中心,并且相互分别在所述第二方向上排列布置。
9.如权利要求6所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述第一触点包括所述两个对应触点中的一个,并且所述第二触点包括所述两个对应触点中的另一个。
10.一种非四边形显示器,包括:
多个栅极线;
显示单元,包括连接至所述栅极线的多个像素;
多个第一信号供给线,通过位于第一侧的多个第一触点连接至所述多个栅极线中的多个对应的栅极线;
多个第二信号供给线,通过位于第二侧的多个第二触点连接至所述多个栅极线中的对应的栅极线;以及
栅极驱动电路,配置为将具有启用电平的栅极信号交替地施加至所述第一信号供给线和所述第二信号供给线,
其中,参照所述显示单元的中心划分所述第一侧和所述第二侧。
11.如权利要求10所述的非四边形显示器,其中,基于经由所述第一触点中的一个连接至所述栅极线中的一个的、所述第一信号供给线中的一个的线性负载与基于经由所述第二触点中的一个连接至所述栅极线中的一个的、所述第二信号供给线中的一个的线性负载之间的差别小于设定或预定的临界值。
12.如权利要求11所述的非四边形显示器,其中,所述栅极驱动电路配置为连续控制施加至所述第一信号供给线中的一个的栅极信号的启用时间以及施加至所述第二信号供给线中的一个的栅极信号的启用时间。
13.一种用于驱动非四边形显示器的方法,所述非四边形显示器包括多个信号供给线、以及通过多个触点中的对应触点连接至所述多个信号供给线中的对应信号供给线的多个栅极线,所述方法包括:
将具有启用电平的栅极信号施加至所述信号供给线的第一信号供给线,所述第一信号供给线连接至所述多个触点中的位于第一侧的第一触点;以及
将具有启用电平的栅极信号施加至所述信号供给线的第二信号供给线,所述第二信号供给线连接至所述多个触点中的位于第二侧的第二触点,
其中所述第一触点的位置与所述第二触点的位置相对于所述非四边形显示器的中心对应。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,其中,相对于所述非四边形显示器的中心,所述第一触点和所述第二触点在第一方向上距离相等并且在第二方向上彼此相邻。
15.如权利要求14所述的方法,还包括:
将具有启用电平的栅极信号施加至所述信号供给线的第三供给线,所述第三供给线位于所述第一侧并连接至所述触点的第三触点,所述第三触点位于所述第一侧并在所述第二方向上紧接于所述第一触点;以及
将具有启用电平的栅极信号施加至所述信号供给线的第四供给线,所述第四供给线位于所述第二侧并连接至所述触点的第四触点,所述第四触点位于所述第二侧并在所述第二方向上紧接于所述第二触点。
