Abstract
一种电子装置包括有多数开关触点设于其上的开关件,一置于开关件上方并具有多数设于与各开关触点相对位置的开口的薄膜液晶显示单元,以及置于相应开口内以可从薄膜液晶显示单元的上方按压的操作件。通过按压各操作件,相应的开关触点进行开关操作。按照这种结构,开关操作在薄膜液晶显示单元上执行,这样开关的可操作性能得到改善而装置本身被缩小。
Description
本发明涉及一种带有液晶显示用以显示各种数据的电子装置。
近来,用一种薄膜液晶单元作为显示器的电子装置已作为商品出现用以减小装置的厚度。这种形式的薄膜液晶单元具有两个电极,形成于两片中间封闭有液晶材料的透明挠性薄片的相对应的相对表面之上。
在这种带有薄膜液晶单元的电子装置中,液晶单元被置于装置壳体的顶部,而用以改变液晶单元的显示内容、显示模式及设置数据的操作键则置于液晶单元的周围。
在这种电子装置中,操作键与薄膜液晶单元是并列设置的,薄膜液晶单元尺寸的增大将相应地要求操作键尺寸减小,从而使装置的可操作性能变差。
本发明的目的就是提供一种带有缩小了的液晶显示单元的电子装置用以提高可操作性能。
为达到上述目的,本发明提供了一种电子装置,它包括:
一个上面带有穿孔的壳体装置;
一置于壳体的穿孔中的操作钮;
一置于操作钮下面并通过操作钮的按压进行开关的开关件;
一置于上述操作钮周围并具有通过开关件的开关操作进行控制的显示内容的薄膜液晶显示单元。

本发明将结合附图中显示的实施例予以详细描述。不同的实施例中的相同部件以同一参考数字表示,而重复描述将被省略。第一实施例
图1-6显示了本发明的第一实施例。如图1所示,第一实施例采用的是具有带开口的环状壳体1的电子装置的形式,面板2设置于壳体1之上用以在面板2上显示数据并向面板2输入数据。壳体1用一种易弯的树脂材料模制成并利用它的伸展性象手表一样戴在使用者的手腕上。这样提高了可携带性并便于操作。面板2沿壳体1的外表面伸展并包括了位于面板2上半周面的显示部分3和位于面板2下半周面且顺序装有操作钮5的操作部分4。
图2是沿图1中II-II线的剖视图。壳体1具有一多阶式开口6,电路板7、开关件8、薄膜液晶显示件9和透明盖10自下而上按顺序置于其中。参考数字11表示一后盖自下与壳体1的后部连接以封闭开口6。
图3是图2画圈部分的放大图。该电子装置的内部结构将在后面结合相应的图示予以描述。电路板7由一种挠性的材料制成。它装有大规模集成电路(LSI)构成的控制单元12以控制整个电子装置及装备在其上预定位置的电源(电池)(未显示)。在图2中,参考数字13表示一置于壳体1中的凹部以容纳该控制元件12。电路板7在一端(未显示)与开关件8电连接以传输自开关件8到控制单元12的开关信号。薄膜液晶显示件9保持它的背面与电路板7部分接触以使电路板7与显示件9电连接从而使一显示信号从控制单元12传送给显示件9。
如图3中所示,开关件8由一对上下挠性薄片8a、8b组成,并且多数操作钮5接附于上片8b的上表面。多个电极15设置在上片8b的下表面沿某一方向延伸。沿着垂直于多个电极15延伸方向的一个方向(通常是向着图3所在平面)伸展的多个电极16设置于下片8a的上表面与多个操作钮5的位置相对的位置,该多个钮5设置在多个极电15与多个电极16相交处。当任一特定的操作钮5被按下时,相应的电极15与16互相接触并输出一个代表该接触的信号至控制单元12。挠性片8a、8b之间有一绝缘垫片17,这样当钮5上的压力消除后电极15、16彼此分离进入非接触状态。
薄膜液晶显示件9放置于开关件8之上并设有通孔18,通过该通孔相应的按钮5伸出在液晶显示件9中的操作部分4的一相应位置上。整个显示件9呈薄膜状,它包含一对其外表面上各有一极化片(未显示)的上下挠性片9a、9b,以及封闭于9a和9b之持的液晶材料19。挠性片9a、9b具有相对应的电极(未显示)形成于它们相对的表面上。图4是显示件9的一平面图,图4的上半部显示了一显示部分3a,其显示包括字符的可视信息,而图4的下半部显示一操作单元4a,各个操作钮5通过孔18伸入其中并被沿薄片9a,9b的边缘部分置于薄片9a、9b间的垫片21牢固地支持着。环形垫片20也设置于挠性片9a、9b之间以配合垫片21保持薄片9a、9b间的预定空间。透明盖10由透明玻璃或合成树脂制成用以盖住整个显示件9。这样薄膜液晶显示件9的显示部分3a上所显示的信息可从外部看见同时显示件9亦被保护。
图5和图6显示了本施例的面板2示例性的一显示。在设置于本实施例操作部分4中的多个操作钮5中,最下面一行操作钮5a、5b和5c分别为一个位置选择,一个置位键和一个方式切换键。为了指示这些键各自的功能,相应的功能提示被印在透明盖10适当的位置上。位于边和中间行的操作钮5d、5e、5f、5g、5h、5i分别是用于输入数值和字符的键。通过除5c以外的按钮5a-5i进行输入方式的选择是通过对5c钮的操作完成的。例如,当5c钮被按下一次,一日期和时间被显示在显示部分3上,如图5中所示。本实施例可采用电子表的形式。在这种情况下,壳体1对应于一只表壳和一根表带。和该数据和时间显示一起,数字“1”和“2”提示于钮5d附近;数字“3”和“4”提示于钮5e附近;恰当的数字提示于其余的每一个钮5f、5g和5h的附近。这些提示可作为用户欲输入数值的目标。例如,当“1”欲被输入时,钮5a被按下一次;当“2”要被输入时,钮5b被按下两次。当钮5c被按下两次时,数据库方式被选择,于是人名“YAGISHITA”和他的电话号码“03-451-2211”被显示在显示部分3上,如图6中所示。在这种方式下,字符“A”,“B”,“C”显示于钮5d附近;“D”,“E”,“F”显示于钮5e附近;恰当的其他字符显示于相应的钮5f、5g、5h和5i附近,这样用户可用钮5d-5i输入字符。上述方式中按钮附近数值和字符的显示制作在薄膜液晶显示件9中的。于是,按钮5伸入的穿孔18周围的液晶材料19(图3)构成了完成这些显示的光学显示装置。
此实施例中,如上所述,开关器件8的操作钮5延伸过了薄膜液晶显示件9。由于显示件9很薄,所以整个装置在厚度上也很薄。于是,装置的区别性能得以改善并且装置的操作也被简化了。第二实施例
图7显示了本发明的第二实施例,其亦采用了手表的形式。虽然在本实施例中开关件8的操作钮5通过穿孔18伸入薄膜液晶显示件9中,但它们被透明盖10盖住而没有伸出盖10。盖10是用一种挠性而透明的丙烯酸类树脂制成。通过按压盖10上对应于按钮5处的位置,信息被输入装置中。由于本实施例的透明盖10盖住了整个显示件9,使装置具有了防水性,并且由于没有按钮突出的状态出现,从而改善了装置的外观。
虽然在上述各实施例中,戴在用户手腕上这种类型的电子装置已经描述过了,但还可以有其它不同的变化和改动。例如,本发明还可以类似地应用于卡式和桌面型的电子装置中。第三实施例
图8-14显示了本发明的第三实施例。图8是采用手表30形式的第三实施例的前视图。图9和图10分别为沿图8中A-A线和B-B线的剖面图。表壳31有表带附件设置于表壳31相对两边,操作钮33置于表壳31上部的中央,并且操作钮33延伸穿过薄膜液晶显示件34。壳体31还有副操作钮35、36在其两侧。
如图9、10中所示,壳体31在其上部中心位置和其侧面具有穿孔37,38并且有一操作钮33穿过孔37及副操作钮35、36穿过相应的边孔38。

薄膜液晶显示件34用胶粘剂50贴在壳体31的隔板31a上以保持一平面状态。液晶显示件34采用轮胎的形状并置于壳体31内也是轮胎形状的凹腔39内。如图8中所示,液晶显示件34与操作钮33同心地置于其周围。一轮胎状透明的或表玻璃盖51盖在凹腔39中的液晶器件34之上达到保护的目的。如图9和10中所示,液晶显示件34通过一挠性的片状连接件53与电路板41电连接以控制显示。连接件53相对的两端通过热焊接或锡焊与薄膜液晶显示件34和电路板41的电极连接以达到连接的目的。参考数字31b表示一位于隔板31a内的切口供连接件53伸展通过。液晶件34的显示区域为它的除了包括连接件53的连接部位和非显示区域在内的外围部分的外的全部面积。为了盖住非显示部分,表蒙51的外围下周面通过印刷一层装饰膜54覆盖。通过使装饰膜54具有金属光泽或不同颜色,装饰效果形成于显示区域的外围部分从而增加了它的美观。
由于薄膜液晶显示件34位于这种结构的手表的按钮33的周围,从而提供了一种新奇的设计以提高鉴赏品味。大操作钮33的设计便于提高设计的自由度以及按钮33的易操作性。
如图10中所示,置于壳体31侧部的副操作钮35、36可滑动地插在壳体31内的穿孔18内并各有一防滑环61置于其内端以防止副钮滑出孔外,还有一空气密封圈62置于穿孔38内壁表面与相应的副钮的中部外表面之间,该副操作钮35、36还借助一弹簧63向壳31外偏置。由于副操作钮35、36置于壳体31的侧部,它们通常作为不经常使用的设定方式或切换方式的操作开关。图10中,参考数字58表示一副开关件,其位于电路板41的侧面上与副操作钮35、36相对,并通过推压副操作钮35、36进行开关操作。
图11显示了控制单元40的电路结构,它包括一个产生一用作时钟工作基准的基准频率脉冲的振荡器81,一用来分频振荡器81产生的基准频率的分频器82,一指示以从分频器82获得的脉冲信号为基准的当前时间的时钟电路83,一以从分频器82获得的脉冲信号为基准设定时间的计时器84,以及一选择来自时钟电路83和计时器84中的一个信号并输出所选信号给薄膜液晶件34的切换单元85。当操作钮33用作计时开关时,它连接至一个触发器86的触发端T,,该触发器从T端接收一由操作钮33的开关操作产生的信号然后从其Q端输出一高电平信号给计时器84和切换单元85。计时器84响应来自Q端的高电平信号开始计时。开关单元85响应该高电平信号选择计时器84的输出以替代时钟电路83提供的输出并传送此计时器输出给薄膜液晶件34。
操作钮35、36(图12、13)作为一开关进行操作以校正时钟电路83的时间或作为计时器84的复位开关。图12显示了一显示日期和时间的通常模式。图12中,显示了10点58分50秒,1992年9月30日。在此模式下通过对33钮的按压,图13的计时模式开始,该模式下计时器84开始执行计时操作。如图14中所示,计时器顺序给出时间同时一闪闪地前进。当操作钮33在这种闪烁前进的状态下再次被按下时,显示日期和时间的模式重新恢复。由于频繁的开关操作通过位于壳体31中央上的操作钮33来完成,可操作性能得以提高并且操作的可靠性得以确保。

Claims (16)
1、一种电子装置,包括:
一内有穿孔的装置壳体;
一置于上述壳体穿孔内的操作钮;
一置于上述操作钮下面并通过上述钮的按压进行开关的开关件;
一置于上述操作钮周围且其显示内容受上述开关件开关操作控制的薄膜液晶显示单元。

5、根据权利要求1的电子装置,包括一电路板,其上具有一置于上述操作钮下面的开关件,以及一连接电路板以向薄膜液晶显示单元传送显示信号的连接件。
6、根据权利要求1的电子装置,其中所述薄膜液晶显示单元包含有两相对的挠性基片,显示电极形成于所述挠性基片的内表面上,并有一液晶材料封闭于两挠性基片之间。
7、一种具有液晶显示的电子装置,包括:
一带有多数穿孔的装置壳体;
相同数量的置于所述装置壳体的相应的多数穿孔内的操作钮;
一置于该多数操作钮下并通过按压所述钮而开关的开关件;
一置于所述开关件上方并围绕在所述操作钮周围的薄膜液晶显示单元,该薄膜液晶显示单元的显示内容受上述开关件开关操作的控制。
8、根据权利要求7的电子装置,其中所述装置壳体由带有多数穿孔的透明材料制成。
9、根据权利要求7的电子装置,其中所述装置壳体包括一容置上述开关件和薄膜液晶显示单元的壳身和一带有多数穿孔并连接于所述壳身的透明盖。
10、根据权利要求7的电子装置,其中所述开关件包含一挠性薄片,其上形成有与多数操作钮相对应的多数开关触点。
11、根据权利要求7的电子装置,其中所述薄膜液晶显示单元包含用于显示所述操作钮的功能的装置。
12、一种带有液晶显示的电子装置,包括:
多数操作件;
一置于所述多数操作件下面并通过按压所述各操作件而开关的开关件;
一设置于所述开关件上方及所述操作件周围的薄膜液晶显示单元,该液晶显示单元的显示内容由所述开关件的开关操作控制;
一置于所述薄膜液晶显示单元上并有所述操作件的操作部分置于其中的透明盖。
13、根据权利要求12的电子装置,其中所述开关件包含一共用挠性片,其上形成有多数与所述多数操作件相对应的开关触点。
14、根据权利要求12的电子装置,其中所述操作件通过所述透明盖中相应的操作部分被按压。
15、根据权利要求12的电子装置,包括一所述透明盖连接于其上的钟壳,操作件、开关件和薄膜液晶显示单元容置于其中。
16、根据权利要求12的电子装置,其中所述薄膜液晶显示单元包含有用于显示所述操作件的功能的装置。
