本申请涉及电连接器,更特别地涉及具有端子位置保证装置(TPA)的电连接器。
背景技术
在各行业中,已知具有为插接件和接头(header)形式的电连接器来提供如汽车系统例如用于发动机电子工程、发动机控制管理系统等这样的系统中的电连接。还已知具有“防碰擦(anti-scooping)”装置,例如柱或肋(参见美国专利6,409,525),其防止配合连接器以不是沿着共同的纵向轴的角度的电连接。典型的防碰擦肋被插入邻近端子腔。现在的连接器还可使用端子保证构件(TPA)来保证该端子适当地定位在所述腔中。对于具有前载的TPA,TPA被插入邻近端子腔。许多现在的电连接器具有邻近于端子空腔来容纳TPA的空间。另外,许多现在的连接器可具有大于一排的端子腔。从而,在使用前载的TPA的连接器中,空间是TPA和防碰擦肋二者所需要的。问题在于在现在的一些具有间距小的端子空腔的连接器中,该空间对典型的TPA和防碰擦肋二者都不是有效的。
发明内容
该解决方案是通过如在本文中所述的电连接器提供的。所述电连接器包括壳体,该壳体具有定位成至少一排的多个端子接收通道,该通道包括锁闩。过应力保护肋被定位成邻近每个锁闩。沟道延伸过壳体并邻近于至少一排端子接收通道。电连接器包括具有刀片状部的端子位置保证构件(TPA)。刀片状部包括板和后边缘。刀片状部位于所述沟道内以使得端子位置保证构件具有预锁定位置,在预锁定位置,后边缘位于锁闩的前方从而允许该锁闩弹回到所述沟道中;以及完全锁定位置,在该完全锁定位置,所述后边缘位于所述锁闩之下。

具体实施方式
参考图1和2,本发明的电连接器组件2的示例性实施例通常包括优选地由电绝缘材料例如塑料模制成的插接壳体4,端子位置保证构件(TPA)6,和为手柄(lever)形式的配合辅助构件8。如所示的,连接器组件2包括穿过其形成的用于接收侧向延伸的防碰擦肋的开口10,如在本文中所述的。在示例性实施例中,连接器组件2包括用于信号触头的多个端子接收通道14,和例如用于电力触头的一个或多个端子接收通道16。在示例性实施例中,端子接收通道14被定位成至少一排。连接器组件2进一步包括周边密封件20、后部电线22和后部壳体部分24。
现在参照图3-5,插接壳体4将被更详细地描述。如所示的,插接壳体4包括罩壳部分30,其围绕壳体上部和下部平台32和34,其被如上所述的端子接收通道14提供支撑。上部平台32包括一排上部和一排中间的端子接收通道14。下部平台34包括一排下部端子接收通道14。罩壳部分30限定上部和下部平坦的壁部分36和38,其限定用于配合辅助构件8的支撑部(图2)。

现在参考图6-11,更详细地描述TPA6。TPA6包括正面100和可接收在插接壳体4的罩壳30(图3)内的外罩壁102。正面100包括被配置为接收上部平台32中的端子接收通道14的孔口110和被配置为接收下部平台34中的端子接收通道14的开口112。正面100进一步包括与侧向延伸的沟道50对准的侧向延伸的开口116(图3),如在本文中所述的。TPA6包括TPA板或刀片状部120(图11)。TPA刀片状部120由通常平坦的板122和隆起的后缘124限定。板122限定开口116的下边界。从正面100到后边缘124的距离通常限定开口116的深度。如图11所示,TPA刀片状部120的隆起的后缘124从刀片状板122的表面隆起或竖直偏离。隆起的后缘124包括隆起的限定多个狭槽130的挡块。从TPA板122的相反侧延伸的是多个突起140,该多个突起限定多个凹槽132在多个突起140之间。如图2最佳示出的,当刀片状部120位于沟道50内时,多个狭槽130与肋64对准(图5),多个凹槽132与每个部分壁80对准(图5),如在本文中所述的。如图10和11所示,狭槽130相对于凹槽132交错。
现在参考图12和13,将更详细地描述TPA6和插接壳体4的操作。首先参考图12,TPA6被示出在预锁定位置,在该预锁定位置,后边缘124位于肋64和锁闩58的前方。端子现在可在从右到左的方向上插入到腔14中,如图12所示。端子通过端子抵靠表面94的接合使锁闩58向下偏置到沟道中。如果端子完全插入,那么端子的边缘将接合锁定表面90,锁闩58将回到类似于图12所示的位置的位置。如果端子没有完全插入,那么端子的主体将延伸以使锁闩58向下偏斜,并且使TPA6向右运动的任何努力,如图12所看到的,将引起突起140接合舌状部92(或锁定表面90),防止TPA6的完全组装。
当端子完全处于端子接收通道14中时,TPA120进一步运动到与壳体6接合,其使得后边缘124的每个狭槽130重叠相应的肋64。当后边缘124位于肋64内时,突起140位于锁闩58下方,如图13所示。突起定位在锁闩下方确保端子完全配合在壳体6中并防止锁闩58偏斜。
TPA的合适功能要求突起140的适当的竖直定位以适当地接合突起140。如上所述的,TPA刀片状部120的板122与所述突起竖直偏离。该偏离允许突起140相对于锁闩58的适当的竖直定位。同时,因为刀片状板122的竖直位置将妨碍过应力保护肋,因此狭槽130提供凹陷以允许TPA完全插入沟道50中。
如图13所示,开口116由板122和通道侧壁80的下边缘84限定。由于所示偏离,刀片状板122位于沟道的下侧,允许用于开口116的空间。当组装时,如图13所述的,连接器组件2现在可互连到相应的具有防碰擦肋的接头。防碰擦肋将被成型为以接收在开口116中。

Claims (11)

1.一种电连接器2,包括:
壳体4,该壳体具有定位成至少一排的多个端子接收通道14,该通道14包括锁闩54,58;
邻近每个锁闩54,58定位的过应力保护肋64;
沟道50,该沟道延伸过所述壳体4并邻近于所述至少一排的端子接收通道14;以及
具有刀片状部120的端子位置保证构件(TPA)6,所述刀片状部包括板122和隆起的后边缘124,所述刀片状部120位于所述沟道50内以使得所述端子位置保证构件6具有预锁定位置,在该预锁定位置,所述后边缘124位于所述锁闩54,58前方,允许所述锁闩弹回到所述沟道50中;以及完全锁定位置,在该完全锁定位置,所述后边缘124位于所述锁闩54,58之下。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述隆起的后边缘从所述TPA刀片状部竖直偏离。
3.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述后边缘124包括突起140,该突起被定位为以当所述TPA6处于所述完全锁定位置时接合所述锁闩54,58。
4.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述后边缘124包括多个狭槽130和从所述刀片状板122的相反侧延伸的多个凹槽132。
5.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其中,所述狭槽130与所述过应力保护肋64对准,所述凹槽132与所述通道14的侧壁80对准。
6.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述端子接收通道14包括下边缘84,其中所述沟道50从所述至少一排的端子接收通道的下边缘84延伸。
7.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述TPA6限定与所述沟道50对准以接收配合连接器的防碰擦肋的开口116。
8.如权利要求7所述的电连接器,其中,所述端子接收通道14包括下边缘84,其中所述开口116由所述至少一排的端子接收通道的下边缘84和所述TPA120的板122限定。
9.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述壳体4包括至少两排的端子接收通道14,其中所述沟道50延伸过所述壳体4的前壁100并位于至少两排的端子接收通道14之间,所述沟道50向内延伸超过所述锁闩54,58。
10.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述后边缘124重叠所述过应力保护肋64。
11.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中,所述后边缘124包括突起140,该突起被接收在所述肋64上方和所述锁闩54,58下方。
