技术领域
本发明大体上涉及用于将眼内晶状体(IOL)输送到眼睛中的装置和技术,尤其涉及用于运输和用于注入IOLs的筒。
背景技术
人眼用于通过使光透射通过被称为角膜的透明外部分和借助于晶状体将图像聚焦到视网膜上而提供视力。被聚焦的图像的品质取决于许多因素,包括眼睛的尺寸和形状,以及角膜和晶状体的透明度。当年龄或疾病导致晶状体变得不太透明时,视力由于可以透射到视网膜的光减少而下降。眼睛的晶状体的该缺陷在医学上被称为白内障,并且可以通过手术移除晶状体并且用人造眼内晶状体(IOL)替换晶状体功能进行治疗。
在美国,大多数白内障晶状体通过被称为晶状体乳化术的外科技术被移除。在该手术期间,在前囊中制造切口并且将细晶状体乳化切割尖端插入病变晶状体中且进行超声振动。振动切割尖端液化或乳化晶状体,使得晶状体可以被抽吸到眼睛之外。一旦被移除,病变晶状体由人造晶状体替换。
IOL通过用于移除病变晶状体的相同小切口被注入到眼睛中。IOL注入器的插入筒装载有IOL,插入筒的尖端被插入切口中,并且晶状体被输送到眼睛中。

发明内容

具体实施方式
包括在上述的美国专利中描述的那些中的若干的许多常规的眼内晶状体(IOL)注入器筒在注入程序之前不久手动地装载IOL,并且被附连到注入器手持机。可以是手动或电动的手持机包括晶状体接触柱塞,所述晶状体接触柱塞被推动进入和通过注入器筒,折叠晶状体并且从注入器筒的尖端或“远”端将晶状体射到眼睛中。除了与装载IOL相关的不便和潜在并发症以外,本领域的技术人员将认识这些系统的另一个问题在于在再使用之前必须仔细地清洁晶状体接触柱塞以避免IOL的污染。
本发明的实施例包括被构造为与注入器手持机可拆卸地配合的眼内晶状体注入器筒组件。筒组件预装载有眼内晶状体,并且具有附连到手动或自动注入器的灵活性。筒组件包括构建于筒中的晶状体接触柱塞杆,使得来自手持式注入器装置的可移动杆接合晶状体接触柱塞杆,所述晶状体接触柱塞杆又推进和射出晶状体。由于筒和晶状体接触柱塞作为单个的一次性单元被提供,并且由于可再使用的注入器装置的杆从不与IOL接触,因此与可再使用的晶状体接触柱塞可能发生的情况相比,污染的可能性被减小。
如图1-3所示的示例性实施例中所见,一次性的且预装载的眼内晶状体注入器筒10包括在其中具有纵向腔孔18的管状主体11。眼内晶状体20被预先安装使得它与晶状体接触柱塞30一起被布置在纵向腔孔18内。晶状体接触柱塞30在眼内晶状体和筒10的近端16之间至少大致被保持在纵向腔孔18内,并且在一些实施例中可以包括用于与注入器手持机(未显示)的注入器杆40配合的承座32。当由通过注入器手持机引入到筒的近端16中的注入器杆40接合时,晶状体接触柱塞30沿着纵向腔孔18平移,当眼内晶状体20穿过筒的渐缩部分12时折叠所述眼内晶状体20,并且从筒的远端15将眼内晶状体20射到患者的眼睛中。如图3中所见,管状主体11的内部可以包括柱塞导向部件35(在一些实施例中,其可以与管状主体成一体地形成,或者在其它实施例中是独立安装的部件)以保持晶状体接触柱塞杆30正确地被定向;柱塞导向部件35也可以用于将晶状体接触柱塞杆30保持在筒10内,例如通过将柱塞杆30的最内端“俘获”在筒10内,或简单地通过提供足够的摩擦以阻止柱塞杆30轻易地掉出筒10。
管状主体11大体上由适合用于眼睛手术中的任何材料形成,并且在一些实施例中可以在一个或若干个部件中由合适的热塑性塑料(例如聚丙烯)形成。在一些实施例中,热塑性塑料可以包含润滑性增强剂,例如在美国专利No.5,716,364中公开的那些。在各种实施例中,喷嘴14可以在横截面上为圆形、卵形或椭圆形,并且可以具有在远侧尖端15处具有小至大约一平方毫米的横截面面积,使得远端尖端15可以被插入眼睛中的很小切口中。在图1-3所示的实施例中,筒10包括从管状主体11突出的一对把手17;这些把手允许筒10的更容易操纵并且提供用于接合注入器手持机的机构,使得筒10可以被锁定就位。本领域的技术人员将领会缩窄的注入器部分11可以特定地被成形,从而当沿着纵向腔孔18由晶状体接触柱塞杆30推动眼内晶状体20时折叠所述眼内晶状体20。用于注入器部分11的各种合适设计是可能的,包括但不限于在美国专利No.5,947,976(Van Noy等人)和美国专利No.6,143,001(Brown等人)中说明的那些,这些专利文献的整个内容通过引用被合并于本文中。
如上所述,在一些实施例中,预装载筒10的管状主体11可以形成为单个件。在这样的实施例中,眼内晶状体20和晶状体接触柱塞杆30可以在运输装置之前由筒的制造商从筒的近端16预先安装在筒10中。然而,其它实施例(例如图4A和4B中所示的筒10的实施例)可以包括布置在筒主体11的一个面上的开口42,使得可以更容易地安装眼内晶状体20和晶状体接触柱塞杆30。在安装这些部件之后,可以通过将盖44安装在开口42上而闭合开口42。在一些实施例中,可以形成盖44和管状主体42,使得盖44卡扣就位;在一些实施例中,盖44可以在一个端部形成与管状主体11的铰接连接。在其它实施例中在安装晶状体接触柱塞杆30和/或眼内晶状体20之后,盖44可以被粘接或以另外方式熔合就位。
图5A和5B示出了本发明的一些实施例的基本操作。在图5A中,注入器杆40已被注入器手持机引入管状主体11的近端16中,使得它与晶状体接触柱塞杆30的承座32配合。注入器杆40的进一步移动导致晶状体接触柱塞杆30接合眼内晶状体20,在一些实施例中可以在略微预先折叠的条件下预先安装所述眼内晶状体。在任何情况下,当晶状体20移动通过筒主体的渐缩部分12并且通过喷嘴14时,发生附加的折叠。最后,眼内晶状体20从喷嘴14的远侧尖端15被挤出到眼睛中,如图5B中所示,在那里它展开为它的自然形状。
尽管手持机的细节对于本发明的完全理解不是必要的并且因此未在本文中详细地进行论述,但是本领域的技术人员将领会上述的筒组件适合于与包括手动致动的注入器杆的手持机或与包括电驱动的注入器杆的手持机一起使用。因此根据本文中公开的构思设计的IOL注入器筒组件可以在一些实施例中与两种类型的手持机兼容。本领域的技术人员将领会作为单个单元提供筒、晶状体和晶状体接触柱塞的进一步优点是在一次性使用之后除去柱塞的性能,由此减小可能在可再使用的晶状体柱塞上看到的污染的可能性。

Claims (5)

1.一种眼内晶状体注入器筒组件,其被构造为与注入器手持机可拆卸地配合,所述筒组件包括:
管状主体,其具有在远端和近端之间延伸的纵向腔孔;
布置在所述纵向腔孔内的眼内晶状体;以及
晶状体接触柱塞杆,其在所述管状主体的近端和所述眼内晶状体之间基本上保持在所述纵向腔孔内,并且被构造为当与通过所述注入器手持机引入所述管状主体的近端中的注入器杆接合时沿着所述纵向腔孔平移,使得所述眼内晶状体通过所述晶状体接触柱塞杆的平移被折叠并且从所述管状主体的远端射出;
柱塞导向件(35),所述柱塞导向件被布置在所述纵向腔孔内并且至少部分地围绕所述晶状体接触柱塞杆的圆周;
其中所述柱塞杆(30)包括最内端,其中所述柱塞导向件限定一通道,所述柱塞导向件俘获所述柱塞杆的所述最内端使得所述柱塞杆保持在所述注入器筒组件内或者通过提供足够的摩擦使得所述柱塞杆保持在所述纵向腔孔中。
2.根据权利要求1所述的筒组件,还包括从所述管状主体突出的一个或多个把手,用于与所述注入器手持机接合。
3.根据权利要求1所述的筒组件,其中所述管状主体包括布置在所述管状主体的第一面上的开口和安装在所述开口上的盖,所述开口用于安装所述眼内晶状体和所述晶状体接触柱塞杆中的至少一个。
4.根据权利要求3所述的筒组件,其中所述盖在所述盖的一端处通过铰链连接到所述管状主体。
5.根据权利要求3所述的筒组件,其中所述管状主体包括邻近于所述开口的一个或多个保持部件,并且所述盖被构造成卡扣配合到所述一个或多个保持部件中。
