技术领域
本发明涉及一种电缆电连接器,更具体地,涉及一种用于连接多导体电力电缆或者信号电缆到印刷电路板(PC板)的边缘的电连接器。
背景技术
连接器组件要求在例如计算机、打印机、辅助硬件等部件之间提供电力或者电气或者电子控制信号。通常,这些部件包含面板件,例如PC板,其组装有小型元件以提供期望的电气控制。通常,连接器组件包括从壳体延伸的电触头,所述壳体与面板件的一端相邻固定。配合的连接器组件配置为用于接收连接器组件。部件的运行可靠性直接受连接的完好性的影响。也就是,如果在触头之间存在不良的电连接,部件不能如期望地进行操作。在一些应用中,例如在PC板包含高功率的发光二极管(LED)的情形中,PC板和相关的触头遭受高温,从而使得金属连接器部件应力松弛。连接器部件的应力松弛通过产生触头间断性断开以及减小施加到电接触点的正交力而使得问题进一步加剧。

发明内容
解决方案通过用于连接缆线或者电缆到板卡边缘接口的电连接器提供。电连接器具有壳体部分。壳体部分具有第一表面以及与所述第一表面相对的第二表面。第一和第二表面间隔开以限定一缝槽。多个分叉的接触元件布置在壳体内。每个接触元件具有包括接触界面部分的第一叉齿部分、与第一叉齿部分间隔开的第二叉齿部分、在一端连接第一和第二叉齿部分的连接板(web)部分以及连接到连接板部分用于端接电缆导线的缆线端接部分。第一和第二叉齿部分限定对应壳体部分缝槽的开口凹陷,并安置在壳体部分内,裸露接触界面用于与板卡边缘接口、通过壳体部分形成的缝槽以及接收板卡边缘接口的接触元件的各自的接触表面配合。

具体实施方式
首先参照图1和2,示出板卡边缘电缆连接器10和印刷电路板(PCcard)12。电接触部件14插入在壳体部分16中。壳体16是电绝缘材料。可以采用高温树脂用于将连接器10暴露到高温的应用场合,例如,如果印刷电路板12的部件包括高温LED,或者如果板卡或者印刷电路板基板具有用于热散逸的铝芯。
分叉接触元件14包括上叉齿部分18和下叉齿部分20。上叉齿部分18和下叉齿部分20在一端通过连接板部分22相连。新颖的分叉设计提供高的正交接触力,用于可靠且稳定地连接到印刷电路板12的电镀(plated)触头24,同时保持紧的触头-触头中心线或者斜度(pitch)。连接板部分22提供在上下叉齿部分18、20的相交部分处的加强结合,其抵抗由于热和机械所致的应力引起的金属变形,如下面更加详细地描述的。电镀界面(platedinterface)26对准电镀印刷电路板触头24。触头基础材料可以是高温铜合金,例如磷青铜、铍铜或者具有耐应力松弛的类似铜合金,如本领域技术人员熟知的。在与叉齿18、20相对的末端处,缆线端接部分28布置在接触元件14上。缆线30具有绝缘夹套,其一部分从末端剥皮用于将缆线电连接到缆线端接部分28。缆线30可以钎焊、熔接或者卷曲到缆线端接部分28中。
壳体用以从电路板12的底部和边缘绝缘分叉接触部分的下叉齿20。壳体16的绝缘层36提供下叉齿20与印刷电路板12的电绝缘。在一个实施例中,印刷电路板12具有用于提高热散逸特征和刚度的铝芯。或者,印刷电路板12可包括传统的环氧树脂基板。
图3是连接器10的接触部分的配合端视图。前端50具有缝槽52,缝槽52具有基本等于或者稍微大于印刷电路板12基板厚度的宽度,以使得连接器10以与接触界面26干涉配合的方式接合印刷电路板12。与缝槽52的任一侧相邻的相对表面54、56从前表面50处较宽的尺度到在缝槽52后部的较窄尺度逐渐成锥形,以有利于连接器10和印刷电路板12的接合,并防止当将其连接在一起时的干涉。同样示出的是接触界面26,其从顶部部分60向下突起到缝槽52中,以接合电镀触板24(例如,参见图2)。制动器锁扣32与连接器的前边缘50相邻布置。
接着参照图4和5,在连接器10的一个实施例中,制动器锁扣32接合定位在印刷电路板12中的开口34。开口34和制动器锁扣32提供壳体部分16和印刷电路板12之间的保持固定。制动器锁扣32提供额外的连接器10保持力到印刷电路板12,其补充摩擦保持力,这通过接触元件14与印刷电路板触板24接合的正交力施加。可以相对于印刷电路板12以预定斜度设置触头用于对准印刷电路板12。
图6是远离连接器壳体16的接触元件的单独的视图。接触元件14可配置为具有缝槽38,该缝槽38具有限定第二缝槽42的突起40。接触元件14通过制动器70保持在壳体内。连接板部分22连接叉齿18、20,通过足够的截面积以防止叉齿18、20的有角度的折曲和应力松弛。接触导沟66(例如,参见图8)同样限制叉齿18、20的有角度的弯曲在导沟66的宽度之内。叉齿18、20、接触界面26、突起40、缆线端接部分28、缝槽38、第二缝槽42以及接触元件14的其它特征可以由铜或者铜合金的平的金属条冲压而成,如上所述。
参照图7,接触部分14的端视图示出形成在缆线端接部分中的交错的杆部分44、46以提供开口或者焊接坑48用于将剥皮的缆线末端78插入缆线端接部分28,其中缆线末端通过焊接材料(由阴影84表示)被焊接到缆线端接部分28。在一个实施例中,交错杆44、46向外形成在接触部分的中心线的相对侧上以允许缆线在插入时与接触部分14的中心线对准。
接着参照图8,通过连接器10的截面视图示出接合壳体部分16的架部分62的接触制动器70。接触部分14的交错的杆部分44、46通过架部分62从制动器部分70间隔开。当接触部分14完全插入到导沟66中时架部分62将接触部分14锁扣到壳体部分16中。突起40邻接与架部分62相对的导沟66,以限制接触部分14在壳体部分16中的穿插。
接着参照图9和10,在一个实施例中,对准缝槽72、74可布置在PCB或者配合的电缆连接器12上来对准。当连接器10与PCB12耦合在一起时,如箭头76所表示的,壳体壁64接合对准缝槽72以将其彼此对准,并保证正确的极性。第二对准缝槽72可设置在连接器的相对末端处,用于接合壳体壁64。如果制动器部分32用于防止壳体部分16从PCB 12退出的话,该对准可以通过开口34进一步保证。

1.一种用于连接电缆(30)到板卡边缘接口(24)的电连接器,包括:

多个分叉接触元件(14),其布置在所述壳体(16)内;
