在本发明方法实践中,主要口腔护理组合物可以施加到或接触口腔表面至少一天一次。在一些实施方案中,主要口腔护理组合物的施加可以每天进行两次,三次,四次,五次,六次,七次,或高达每天十五次。
口腔表面可以使用本领域已知的或者待发展的任何方式接触到主要口腔护理组合物;该方式可以取决于主要口腔护理组合物形式而变化。接触主要口腔护理组合物与口腔表面的示例性方式包括使用器具(比如刷子,牙刷,棒,海绵,棉签),灌洗,咀嚼,相邻放置,和溶解糖食的应用。

周期性口腔护理组合物的第一磨料和第二磨料各自具有粒度。在某些实施方案中,第一粒度小于第二粒度。平均粒度可以例如使用Malvern粒度分析仪,型号Mastersizer S,Malvern Instruments,Inc.ofSouthborough,Massachusetts,U.S.A测量。
在某些实施方案中,第一磨料的平均粒度小于约11μm,优选小于约10μm。例如,适当磨料的实例具有约7μm至11μm的平均粒度。一些磨料具有小于5μm的粒度。在其它实施方案中,第二磨料的平均粒度大于约8μm,优选大于约10μm。在一些实施方案中,第二磨料的平均粒度可以约8μm至约14μm。
实现上述要求的任何口腔或者化妆品可接受的磨料可被选来用于周期性口腔护理组合物。适当的磨料包括但不限于:二氧化硅、硅酸盐、硅、矾土(包括煅烧的氧化铝)、铝硅酸盐(例如膨润土、沸石、高岭土和云母)、硅藻土(siliceous or diatomaceous earth)、浮石、碳酸钙、乌贼骨(cuttlebone)、不溶性磷酸盐、复合树脂(例如三聚氰胺树脂、酚醛树脂和脲醛树脂)、聚碳酸盐、碳化硅、碳化硼、微晶蜡、微晶纤维素(包括胶体微晶纤维素和羧甲基纤维素的组合,可以商品名AVICEL商业途径获自FMC Biopolymer of Philadelphia,Pennsylvania,U.S.A)及上述全部的组合和衍生物。“云母”指一组具有平板形态和完美基体(云母的)裂纹的水合硅酸铝矿物的任一。云母可以是例如云母板、云母屑或云母片,示例为白云母、黑云母或金云母类型的云母。用作磨料的不溶性磷酸盐包括正磷酸盐、聚偏磷酸盐和焦磷酸盐。示例性实例是二水化正磷酸二钙、二水化磷酸二钙、磷酸氢钙、焦磷酸钙、β-焦磷酸钙、磷酸三钙、偏磷酸钙、偏磷酸钾和偏磷酸钠。
合成二氧化硅包括硅胶和沉淀的二氧化硅,其可例如通过使用强无机酸中和硅酸盐水溶液来制备。在硅胶制备中,二氧化硅水凝胶生成后,通常被洗涤以降低盐含量。经洗涤的水凝胶可以被磨成希望的尺寸,或者以其他方式干燥,最终达到其结构不再由于收缩而改变的点。当制备这种合成二氧化硅时,目的是获得提供最大清洁(即,去除污染的表膜)且对牙釉质和其他口腔组织最小损伤的磨料。
制备周期性口腔组合物的有用磨料包括高清洁、低结构的二氧化硅磨料,例如以商品名 XWA或 783由DavisonChemical Division of W.R.Grace & Co.of Baltimore,MD销售的那些。 XWA 650是由胶态二氧化硅粒子组成的二氧化硅水凝胶。示例性的二氧化硅水凝胶包括胶态二氧化硅粒子,其具有约3μm至约12μm且更优选约5μm至约10μm的平均粒度以及作为5%重量的浆体测量时4至10,优选6至9的pH范围。XWA650的粒子含有约10%重量至约35%重量的水,具有约5μm至约12μm的平均粒度、大于或等于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转至约20mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度、小于90cm3/100g例如约40cm3/100g至约90cm3/100g的油吸收。磨料具有100m2/g至700m2/g的布鲁厄-埃米特-特勒(BET)表面积。XWA 650具有96.8 technidyne的亮度。这样的磨料在美国专利第6,290,933号中公开了,其通过参考以其全文引入本文。
另一种可包括在周期性组合物中的高清洁二氧化硅磨料作为 XWA 300销售,是含有约10%重量至约25%重量的水的二氧化硅水凝胶,其中平均粒度为约2μm至约4μm。粒子具有范围从150m2/g至400m2/g二氧化硅的BET表面。XWA 300磨料具有小于90cm3/100g二氧化硅的油吸收;于沸腾(无CO2)软化水中的5%w/w混悬液中的pH等于或大于8.5。美国专利第5,939,051号中公开了这种磨料,其通过参考以其全文引入本文。
另一种可包括在周期性组合物中的合适的高清洁二氧化硅包含二氧化硅产品,其中粒子为约5%重量至约35%重量的水,具有约7μm至约11μm的平均粒度、12至约19的艾勒内尔硬度、约50cm3/100g至约65cm3/100g的油吸收值。BET表面积为约100m2/g至约700m2/g二氧化硅。亮度一般报道为大于约95 technidyne。这种二氧化硅产品可以作为 105商业途径获自J.M.Huber of Havre de Grace,Maryland,U.S.A。
其他可能有用的磨料包括典型的清洁二氧化硅磨料,例如沉淀的二氧化硅,其具有至多约20μm、通常约8μm至约14μm的平均粒度以及大于约90cm3/100g至约110cm3/100g的油吸收结构;例如由J.M.Huber销售的115,其具有在5%的粒子时约6.5-7.5的pH以及约2mg损失/100,000次旋转至4mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度。这种二氧化硅粒子的亮度大于约95。在某些实施方案中,这种清洁磨料包含口腔组合物的第二磨料。
在洁牙剂是澄清或透明的凝胶的实施方案中,胶态二氧化硅磨料例如在商标下作为 72和 74销售的那些或者在商标 100下销售的碱金属硅酸铝络合物是特别有用的,因为这些磨料的折射率与洁牙剂中普遍使用的胶凝剂-液体(包括水和/或湿润剂)体系的折射率接近。
根据本发明各种实施方案,周期性组合物中组合第一和第二磨料以提供清洁能力、温和(相对低的磨损性)和美学上可接受的周期性护理组合物。在各种实施方案中,第一磨料与第二磨料的量可表达为第一磨料与第二磨料比例为约1:1.6至约1.6:1。例如,第一磨料与第二磨料的比例为约1:1。口腔组合物中存在的第一磨料和第二磨料量分别可以为口腔组合物重量的约13至约21%。
在一些实施方案中,第一磨料的量是口腔组合物重量的约15%至约19%,而第二磨料的量是口腔组合物重量的约15%至约19%。在某些优选实施方案中,第一磨料以口腔组合物重量的约17%的量存在,而第二磨料以口腔组合物重量的约17%的量存在。因此,根据本发明各种实施方案,包括第一和第二磨料的周期性口腔护理组合物中磨料总量为周期性口腔护理组合物总重量的优选大于约25%、更优选大于约30%,且在一些实施方案中大于约35%。
在一些实施方案中,周期性口腔组合物包含艾勒内尔硬度大于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的第一磨料和艾勒内尔硬度小于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的第二磨料。第一磨料与第二磨料的比例为约1:1.6至约1.6:1。而且,周期性口腔组合物具有大于约100的PCR和小于约200的RDA。在某些实施方案中,RDA小于约175。在某些实施方案中,第一磨料的油吸收小于约90cm3/100g,而第二磨料的油吸收大于约90cm3/100g。在一些实施方案中,第一磨料与第二磨料的比例为约1:1。包括第一和第二磨料的磨料总量为大于约30%。第一磨料和第二磨料任选分别以各约17%的量存在。在一些实施方案中,第一和第二磨料分别以总周期性口腔护理组合物重量的约15%至约19%的量存在。第一和第二磨料任选包含二氧化硅。
在某些实施方案中,周期性口腔组合物包含:含有二氧化硅的第一磨料,其具有大于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度和小于约90cm3/100g的油吸收。周期性口腔组合物进一步包括含有二氧化硅的第二磨料,其具有小于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度和大于约90cm3/100g的油吸收。第一磨料存在量为约13%-约21%重量,同样,第二磨料的存在量为组合物重量的约13%-约21%。在一些实施方案中,第一磨料和第二磨料分别的存在量为周期性口腔组合物重量的约15%-约19%。在某些实施方案中,第一和第二磨料分别的存在量为口腔组合物重量的约17%。PCR优选大于100并且RDA优选小于200,和在某些实施方案中,小于约175。存在于口腔组合物中的第一和第二磨料总量优选大于约25%,甚至更优选地大于约30%。

在某些实施方案中,周期性口腔组合物具有约1:1.6到约1.6:1的第一磨料和第二磨料的比例。在特定实施方案中,活性成分包括非离子抗菌成分,例如像三氯生的卤代二苯醚,这将在下文更详细讨论。在一些实施方案中,第一磨料具有小于约90cm3/100g的油吸收和大于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度,而第二磨料具有大于约90cm3/100g的油吸收和小于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度。
本文所述的(主要和周期性二者)周期性口腔组合物可以包含口腔可接受的载体。可用于生成口腔护理组合物载体的常规成分是本领域技术人员已知的。载体可以是液体、半固体或固体相。口腔组合物可以是洁牙剂形式(包括牙膏、牙粉和预防糊剂)、糖食(包括胶、糖珠(beads)和咀嚼糖)、膜、涂覆凝胶(paint-on gels)或磨料应用领域技术人员已知的任何其他形式。具体载体组分的选择取决于想要的产品形式。
在某些优选实施方案中,口腔组合物(一种或多种)独立地为洁牙剂形式,其中示例性载体大致为半固体或固体。载体可以是含水的,其中载体优选含有约5%至约95%的水。在其他实施方案中,载体可以是基本上无水的。载体任选包括例如口腔护理活性成分、表面活性试剂(surface active agents)例如表面活性剂(surfactants)、乳化剂和泡沫调节剂、粘度调节剂和增稠剂、润滑剂、稀释剂、填充剂、附加的pH调节剂、着色剂、防腐剂、溶剂及其组合。应理解,虽然每一种上述类别的材料的一般性质可以不同;但是可能存在一些共同的性质,并且任何给定材料可以用于这些材料类别的两种或多种的多重目的。如本领域技术人员所公认的,除了前述那些组分,口腔组合物(一种或多种)任选还包括其他材料,包括例如润肤剂、增湿剂、口感剂等。适当的口腔组合物载体实例在美国专利No.6,669,929、6,379,654和4,894,220中公开,其各自的内容通过参考引入本文。
口腔护理活性成分包括例如抗菌活性剂、抗牙垢剂、防龋齿试剂、抗炎剂、抗敏剂、酶、营养素等。本文有用的那些活性试剂也在美国专利No.6,290,933和6,685,921中公开,其各自的内容通过参考引入本文。
口腔组合物任一或二者中可以存在任何适当的氟离子源,例如美国专利No.5,080,887号中引述的那些,其内容通过参考引入本文。氟离子源、酸性磷酸酶和焦磷酸酶抑制剂在本领域公知为防龋齿试剂。这种源的实例是无机金属和/或铵的氟化物盐及化合物,例如:氟化钠、氟化钾、氟化铵、氟化钙;铜的氟化物,例如氟化亚铜;氟化锌、氟化钡;硅氟化钠、氟代硅酸铵、氟代锆酸钠;以及单氟代磷酸钠、单和二-氟代磷酸铝和氟化焦磷酸钠钙。氟化物源还可以是氟化胺,例如奥拉氟(N'十八烷基三亚甲基二胺-N,N,N'-三(2-乙醇)-二氢氟化物)。优选氟化钠、氟化胺、氟化亚锡、单氟磷酸钠(MFP)、和其混合物。
口腔组合物的任一或二者任选包含抗牙垢组分,例如一种或多种美国专利No.5,292,526中引述的抗牙垢组分,其内容通过参考引入本文。在各种实施方案中,抗牙垢组分包括一种或多种聚磷酸盐。抗牙垢组合物可以包括至少一种以有效抗牙垢的量存在于口腔组合物中的完全或部分中和的碱金属或铵的三聚磷酸盐或六偏磷酸盐。抗牙垢组分还可以包括至少一种有效抗牙垢量的水溶性、直链、分子脱水的聚磷酸盐。抗牙垢组分还可以包括作为聚磷酸盐抗牙垢剂的钾盐和钠盐的混合物,钾盐和钠盐的至少一种以有效抗牙垢的量存在。其他有用的抗牙垢剂包括聚羧酸盐聚合物和聚乙烯基甲基醚/马来酸酐(PVM/MA)共聚物,例如GANTREZ。
口腔护理组合物中已知有用的所有其它物质或分子可以包括在该日常或周期性组合物的任一或二者中。例如,这样的额外分子可以包括抗菌剂,抗菌斑试剂,脱敏剂,抗炎剂,着色剂,增稠剂,香料,表面活性剂,磨料,防粘着剂、防龋齿试剂、感官剂和/或维生素。

Claims (16)
1.清洁口腔表面,保持口腔健康和/或增加口腔健康的方法,包括:
a.使口腔表面接触主要口腔护理组合物至少一天一次,和
b.在约42天的周期内使口腔表面接触周期性口腔护理组合物至少一次;
其中周期性口腔护理组合物包括艾勒内尔硬度大于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的第一磨料,和艾勒内尔硬度小于约5mg损失/100,000次旋转的第二磨料,其中第一磨料与第二磨料的比值为约1:1.6-约1.6:1,和其中周期性口腔组合物具有大于约100的表膜清洁比和小于约200的放射性牙本质磨损。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中通过使用刷子给口腔表面施加周期性口腔护理组合物来实现(b)。
3.权利要求1的方法,其中所述主要口腔护理组合物包括选自磨料试剂、抗菌剂、菌斑分散剂、防粘着试剂、防龋齿试剂、脱敏剂、香料、着色剂、和感官剂的试剂。
4.权利要求1的方法,其中所述主要口腔护理组合物包括选自亚锡离子试剂;三氯生;三氯生单磷酸盐;氯己定;阿来西定;海克替啶;血根碱;苯扎氯铵;N-水杨酰替苯胺;溴化杜灭芬;西吡氯铵(CPC);十四烷基氯化吡啶鎓(TPC);N-十四烷基-4-乙基氯化吡啶鎓(TDEPC);奥替尼啶;地莫匹醇;辛哌醇;乳链菌肽;锌离子试剂;铜离子试剂;精油;呋喃酮;细菌素,乙基月桂酰基精氨酸酯,木兰提取物,金属离子源,精氨酸碳酸氢盐,和厚朴酚,magonol,熊果酸,ursic酸,桑色素,沙棘提取物,过氧化物,酶,山茶提取物,类黄酮,黄烷,卤化二苯醚,肌酸,和蜂胶的试剂。

8.权利要求1的方法,其中周期性口腔护理组合物的第一磨料具有小于约11μm的平均粒度并且第二磨料具有大于约8μm的平均粒度。
9.权利要求1的方法,其中周期性口腔护理组合物的第一磨料存在量为约17%重量并且周期性口腔护理组合物的第二磨料存在量为约17%重量。
10.权利要求1的方法,其中周期性口腔护理组合物中第一和第二磨料的总量大于组合物重量的约30%。
11.权利要求1的方法,其中周期性口腔护理组合物的第一磨料存在量为约13%-约21%重量并且周期性口腔护理组合物的第二磨料存在量为约13%-约21%重量。
12.权利要求1的方法,其中周期性口腔护理组合物的第一磨料和第二磨料各包括二氧化硅。
13.权利要求1的方法,其中口腔表面在42天的周期内接触周期性口腔护理组合物4-18次。
14.权利要求1的方法,其中口腔表面在42天的周期内接触周期性口腔护理组合物6次。
15.清洁口腔表面,保持口腔健康,和/或增加口腔健康的方法,包括
a.使口腔表面接触主要口腔护理组合物至少一天一次,和
b.使口腔表面在约42天的周期内接触周期性口腔护理组合物至少一次;
其中周期性口腔护理组合物包括第一磨料和第二磨料,第一磨料包括二氧化硅,具有大于约5毫克损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度,和小于约90cm3/100g的油吸收,且第二磨料包括二氧化硅,具有小于约5毫克损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度,和大于约90cm3/100g的油吸收,其中第一磨料的存在量为约13%-约21%重量和第二磨料的存在量为约13%-约21%重量。
16.清洁口腔表面,保持口腔健康,和/或增加口腔健康的方法,包括
c.使口腔表面接触主要口腔护理组合物至少一天一次,和
d.使口腔表面在约42天的周期内接触周期性口腔护理组合物至少一次;
其中周期性口腔护理组合物包括第一磨料和第二磨料,第一磨料包括二氧化硅,具有小于约90cm3/100g的油吸收和大于约5毫克损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度,且第二磨料包括二氧化硅并具有大于约90cm3/100g的油吸收和小于约5毫克损失/100,000次旋转的艾勒内尔硬度,其中第一磨料与第二磨料的比值为约1:1.6-约1.6:1,并且存在于该口腔组合物中的第一和第二磨料总量大于该组合物重量的约25%,其中该口腔组合物具有大于约100的表膜清洁比和小于约200的放射性牙本质磨损。
