具体实施方式
本发明提供了改进的口香糖组合物、制备口香糖组合物的胶基和它们的制备方法。按照本发明,提供了包含苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物弹性体、具体地包含苯乙烯-丁二烯嵌段共聚物弹性体的胶基,所述弹性体与另一弹性体例如苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物组合或不与之组合。
不受具体理论的束缚,认为,使用苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物作为胶基的弹性组分可有利地在使用例如间歇式混合机的胶基生产中用于减少混合时间、弹性体含量和/或能量成本,因为它们的粘度在高于100℃时实质上降低。与苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物例如苯乙烯-丁二烯无规共聚物相比,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物还可更易于在混合机-挤出机中进行加工,其用于例如制备胶基和/或口香糖的连续方法中。还认为这样的聚合物可产生具有特殊熔化性质的胶基,该胶基可用于沉积或成型的口香糖产品中。
I.胶基
热塑性弹性体(TPE)例如苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物是橡胶状材料,其具有非常类似于硫化常规橡胶的性质和功能性能,然而它们可如同热塑性物质一样以熔融态进行制造。高于其软化点时,TPE是流体并且可用与对于热塑性物质所通常使用的相同设备和方法进行成型或挤出。低于其软化点时,TPE起到柔软的弹性橡胶的作用。商购TPE嵌段共聚物具有两个聚合相和两个玻璃化转变温度:软橡胶状的聚合相和硬热塑性的聚合相。另外,TPE嵌段共聚物通常属于如下三个类别之一:(i)具有交替的软片段和硬片段的嵌段共聚物,(ii)橡胶状聚合物和热塑性物质的共混物,和(iii)橡胶状聚合物-热塑性物质的组合物,其中前者被高度硫化并且细分散在后者中。目前使用的无规SBR共聚物仅具有一个相和一个玻璃化转变温度。另外,TPE嵌段共聚物比用于胶基的未硫化无规SBR更硬。
在商业上,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物是热塑性弹性体的最大(largest-volume)类别。作为热塑性弹性体,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物有利地具有橡胶的机械性能和热塑性物质的加工特性。这些性能和特性与共聚物的分子结构有关。例如,一些最简单类型的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物由至少三个嵌段构成;即,两个硬的聚苯乙烯端嵌段和一个软的弹性中嵌段。
因此,本发明涉及在胶基的制备中使用苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物。更具体地,本发明涉及包含苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的胶基,所述共聚物具有两个或更多聚苯乙烯硬片段或嵌段和在其之间的至少一个例如聚二烯的软或相比较更柔软的片段或嵌段,所述聚二烯例如聚丁二烯或聚异戊二烯。

本发明的嵌段共聚物可以是线性的,例如对于苯乙烯-二烯烃-苯乙烯三嵌段共聚物。还可使用稍微更复杂的结构,例如“辐射”型嵌段共聚物。这些类型的共聚物由例如从中心轴(center hub)辐射的苯乙烯-丁二烯二嵌段共聚物的三个或更多的链或臂(arm)构成。在各个二嵌段中,丁二烯部分在最里面或者最接近所述中心轴,而苯乙烯部分形成末端嵌段。
不受具体理论的束缚,认为例如与无规苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物相比,本发明的嵌段共聚物是有利的,因为它们在室温下具有表现得如同交联弹性橡胶的能力。这种能力通常归因于二烯烃(例如丁二烯)和苯乙烯重复单元的分子不相容性。结果,各个聚合物链内的这些片段或嵌段趋于相分离成富含苯乙烯单元的区域和富含二烯烃(丁二烯)单元的区域。因为苯乙烯区域低于它们的玻璃化转变温度(Tg),所以它们表现得如同将聚二烯(例如聚丁二烯)片段或嵌段结合到无限大分子网络内的交联点,因此提高了在低温下的弹性强度。然而,在将聚合物链的温度提高到高于约100℃的聚苯乙烯的Tg时,聚苯乙烯区域离解或分解,并且苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物变得如热塑性物质一样可加工,熔体粘度可比得上热塑性材料如聚苯乙烯和聚丙烯的熔体粘度。在随后冷却时,再次发生某种程度的相分离,使苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物再次表现出良好的弹性品质。
与通过水性乳液聚合(见例如美国专利No.6818236、6399721和6235319,出于所有相关目的而通过引用将它们的全文结合到本文中)获得的无规苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物不同,本发明的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物可通过溶剂聚合而获得。溶剂聚合技术在本领域中是已知的并且包括例如用有机金属催化剂如丁基锂、引发剂和合适溶剂的阴离子聚合,存在两种类型的所述引发剂即双官能引发剂如萘基钠和单官能引发剂如烷基锂。所得聚合物可通过本领域已知的不同方法进行纯化,所述方法例如圆筒烘干、蒸汽汽提或真空挤出机中的溶剂去除。利用纯化来除去单体、催化剂和溶剂。
一般而言,可使用本领域已知的技术来控制根据本发明适合使用的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的各种性质(例如分子量、多分散性、粘度等),以便使它们对于给定的其中要使用胶基的口香糖产品最优化。然而通常,这些聚合物可具有约100000道尔顿、约150000道尔顿、约200000道尔顿、约250000道尔顿、约300000道尔顿或更大的数均分子量,分子量为例如约100000至约300000道尔顿或约150000至约250000道尔顿的范围。另外,本发明的聚合物可具有大于约1且小于约2的多分散性。例如,这些聚合物的多分散性在大于约1.02至约1.10的范围中。
还可使用本领域已知的技术来控制根据本发明适合使用的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的组成,以便使它们对于给定的其中要使用胶基的口香糖产品最优化。例如,基于聚合物的总重量,本发明的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物中可具有大于约10%重量、约15%重量、约20%重量、约30%重量、约40%重量或更大的总苯乙烯浓度,所述浓度在例如约15%重量至约40%重量或优选约20%重量至约35%重量的范围中。
许多潜在合适的苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物可以商购。这些聚合物包括例如商购自Dynasol的Calprene 401和Solprene S-4318。Calprene 401是辐射状苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物,其具有:(i)约20%重量的总苯乙烯浓度;(ii)在190℃下小于约1的熔体流动指数(使用本领域已知的方法测定);(iii)约9.7Pa.s的甲苯溶液粘度(25%重量)(使用本领域已知的方法测定);和(iv)约60的肖氏A硬度值(使用本领域已知的方法测定)。Solprene S-4318是线性苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物,其具有:(i)约32%重量的总苯乙烯浓度;(ii)在190℃下约8的熔体流动指数;(iii)约0.685Pa.s的甲苯溶液粘度(25%重量);和(vi)约69的肖氏A硬度值。
如本文中另外所指出的,发现苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物特别良好地适合用作口香糖胶基的弹性组分。任选地,这些嵌段共聚物可与另一弹性体组合使用,所述另一弹性体例如烟乳胶或液体乳胶以及银菊胶、节路顿胶、lechi caspi、perillo、弹性铁线子(massaranduba)、巴拉塔树胶(balata)、巧克力铁线子胶、人心果胶(nispero)、山榄胶、糖胶树胶(chicle)、古塔胶(gutta percha)、古塔卡太胶(gutta kataiu)、尼日尔古塔胶、卡斯德拉胶(tunu)、托帕匡斯麻风树胶(chilte)、芡茨棕树胶、古塔胶(gutta hang kang)、苯乙烯-二烯无规共聚物、聚异丁烯、异丁烯-异戊二烯共聚物和它们的混合物。因此,在一个备选的优选实施方案中,本发明的弹性体组分可以是苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物和苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物的共混物,例如可将苯乙烯-丁二烯嵌段共聚物和苯乙烯-丁二烯无规共聚物共混。作为选择,使用本领域中已知的技术,可形成这样的聚合物,使得在其中既包含苯乙烯和二烯烃(例如丁二烯)聚合物的片段或嵌段,又包含苯乙烯-二烯烃(例如丁二烯)无规共聚物的片段或嵌段。
在一个优选实施方案中,胶基中的弹性组分为约100%重量的苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物。然而,作为选择,弹性组分可以是苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物和另一聚合物例如苯乙烯-二烯烃(例如丁二烯)无规共聚物的共混物。在该实施方案中,弹性体中苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的含量可以为约25%重量至小于约99%重量,优选约50%重量至小于约99%重量或约75%重量至小于约99%重量。因此,弹性体中其它聚合物例如苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物的浓度通常为约1%重量至约75%重量,优选约1%重量至约50%重量或约1%重量至约25%重量。
通常,需控制弹性体的组成以便就所需最终应用而使热性能和/或物理性能(例如胶基和/或口香糖性能)最优化。然而通常,关于本发明胶基的弹性组分的热性能及物理性能,应注意这些弹性体在约190℃下可具有约0.01g/10分钟至约40g/10分钟、或约0.1g/10分钟至约30g/10分钟、或甚至约0.5g/10分钟至约20g/10分钟的熔体流动指数(MFI)(使用本领域中已知的方法测定)。本发明的这些或其它弹性体可进一步具有约95℃至约105℃的软化点(使用本领域中已知的方法测定)。
本发明的这些或其它弹性体可以还进一步具有使用本领域已知方法测得的约0.5Pa.s至约25Pa.s、或约0.6Pa.s至约10Pa.s的甲苯溶液粘度(25%重量)(使用本领域已知的方法测定)。最后,本发明的这些或其它弹性体可具有约55至约85和优选约60至约70的肖氏A硬度值(使用本领域已知的方法测定)。
与本发明胶基中使用的弹性体的组成无关,应注意其在胶基中的使用水平可取决于诸多因素,该因素包括例如总胶基组成和胶基和/或最终口香糖产品的所需特性。另外,除包括弹性体外,胶基还可包括如下中的一种或多种:增塑剂;填料;软化剂;蜡;抗氧化剂;着色剂;食用香料;填充型(bulk)增甜剂;高强度增甜剂;和/或乳化剂;以及提供所需属性的其它组分。
然而通常,本发明胶基中存在的弹性体(例如,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物,或苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物和苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物的共混物)的量为约1%重量至约30%重量。更适当地,本发明胶基中聚合物的量为约2%重量至约15%重量或约4%重量至约12%重量。关于另外的添加剂或组分,应注意的是,使用本领域已知的方法可获得确定使用这些中的何种及其量。
可使用弹性体增塑剂来改变胶基的坚实性。当用于胶基时,它们的聚合物增塑强度和它们变化的软化点可导致不同程度的成品口香糖坚实性。当希望在成品口香糖中使用与胶基增塑强度不同的食用香料时,这可能是重要的考虑因素。适合用于本发明的弹性体增塑剂包括但不限于天然松香树脂例如部分氢化松香的甘油酯、聚合松香的甘油酯、部分二聚松香的甘油酯、脂松香(gum rosin)的甘油酯、妥尔油松香的甘油酯、木松香的甘油酯、部分氢化玫瑰(rose)的季戊四醇酯、部分氢化的松香甲基酯、松香的季戊四醇酯,合成弹性体增塑剂例如衍生自α-蒎烯、β-蒎烯、d-1,8-萜二烯和/或二戊烯的萜烯树脂、和它们的混合物。基于口香糖胶基的总重量,这些增塑剂在口香糖胶基中通常以约10%重量至约90%重量或约20%重量至约80%重量的浓度存在。
增塑剂有时称作软化剂(但不要与用于口香糖填充(bulking)部分的水溶性软化剂相混淆)。通常这些包括脂肪和油以及蜡。脂肪和油典型地是植物油,这些植物油通常被部分或全部氢化以提高它们的熔点。适合于这种应用的植物油包括棉籽、大豆、棕榈(包括棕榈仁)、椰子、牛油树(shea)、蓖麻、花生、玉米、油菜籽、芥花籽(canola)、葵花籽、可可及其它的油。较不常用的是动物脂肪例如乳脂、牛脂和猪油。基本上是具有变化链长度的脂肪酸的合成化合甘油酯(甘油三酸酯)的结构脂肪,提供了通过使用自然界中较不常遇到的短链和中链脂肪酸来仔细调节软化外形(profile)的能力。通常使用的蜡包括石蜡、微晶蜡和天然蜡例如蜂蜡和巴西棕榈蜡。微晶蜡、特别是具有高结晶度的微晶蜡可认为是增稠剂或质构改性剂。增塑剂通常以胶基的约5%重量至40%重量的水平来使用。
通常还使用塑性树脂例如聚乙酸乙烯酯,其略微表现得如同增塑剂。可使用的其它塑性聚合物包括聚月桂酸乙烯酯、聚乙烯醇和聚乙烯吡咯烷酮。大多数胶基将聚乙酸乙烯酯以胶基的约10%重量至约35%重量的水平引入。
胶基通常还包括填料组分。填料组分通常是无机粉末例如碳酸钙、碳酸镁、滑石、磷酸二钙等。填料可占胶基的约5%重量至约50%重量。有时,可将部分填料与胶基相分离地加入到口香糖混合物中。
也具有增塑性能的乳化剂辅助均化不同的胶基组分。通常使用的乳化剂包括甘油单酯和甘油二酯例如单硬脂酸甘油酯、卵磷脂和三乙酸甘油酯。乳化剂通常以胶基的约2%重量至约10%重量的水平来使用。
胶基通常含有任选的添加剂例如起到它们正常作用的抗氧化剂和颜料。较不常见地,可向口香糖胶基中加入食用香料和增甜剂。如果使用,这些添加剂通常以胶基的约1%重量或更小的水平来使用。
不溶性胶基可占口香糖的约5%重量至约95%重量。通常,不溶性胶基可占口香糖的约10%重量至约50%重量或口香糖的约20%重量至约40%重量。本发明预期到使用任何商业上可接受的胶基。
可使用本领域已知的方法(例如间歇或连续的制备方法)制备本发明的胶基。
例如,通常可通过向经加热的西格玛(sigma)叶片式混合机中加入一定量的弹性体组分、弹性体溶剂和填料来制备胶基,所述混合机具有通常约2:1的前后速度比。通过混合釜的工作容量测定成分的初始量,以便获得适当的稠度。在初始成分集结(mass)均匀后,将余量的弹性体溶剂、填料、软化剂等以顺次方式加入,直到获得完全均匀的熔融体。取决于配方,这通常可在1至3小时内完成。最终物体温度可通常为约70℃至约130℃,更通常为约100℃至约120℃的温度。将完工的熔融体从混合釜注入包覆或有衬的盘内,挤出或铸造成任何所需形状并且让其冷却和凝固。
可任选使用本领域通常已知的采用混合挤出机的连续方法来制备胶基。在将初始成分集结均匀并混配所需时间后,以顺次方式加入余量的胶基组分,直到获得完全均匀的熔融体。通常,可在初始混配时间后加入任何剩余的弹性体和弹性体增塑剂。通常在弹性体和弹性体增塑剂之后加入任选的蜡和油。然后让该物体在卸出用以挤出之前变得均匀。
根据本发明可任选使用的示例性挤出方法包括如下专利,通过引用每一个的全文结合到本文中:(i)美国专利No.6238710要求保护连续口香糖胶基的制造方法,其需要在单挤出机中将所有成分混合;(ii)美国专利No.6086925公开了通过向连续混合机中加入硬弹性体、填料和润滑剂来制造口香糖胶基;(iii)美国专利No.5419919公开了使用桨叶混合机通过在混合机的不同位置上选择性地供给不同成分来连续制造胶基;和(iv)另一个美国专利No.5397580公开了连续胶基制造,其中将两个连续混合机串联布置并将来自第一连续混合机的共混物加入到第二连续混合机中。在一种备选的连续方法中,沿挤出机的长度在不同位置连续加入成分,在该情形中,穿过挤出机的传送时间可基本上小于一小时。
II.口香糖
本发明的口香糖通常包含基本不溶于水的部分、基本溶于水的部分和一种或多种食用香料。非水溶性部分通常包含本发明的胶基;即,其包含增塑剂和苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物或苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物与另一弹性体例如苯乙烯-二烯烃无规共聚物的共混物。在咀嚼一段时间后,水溶性部分与部分食用香料一起消散,然而在整个咀嚼过程中,胶基部分保留在口腔中。
本发明口香糖中使用的胶基的量可取决于诸多因素,该因素包括例如总口香糖组成和最终产品的所需特性。如先前所指出的,胶基的水平可低至口香糖的5%重量或高至口香糖的95%重量,最终口香糖产品中胶基的量通常为约10%重量至约50%重量。更通常地,胶基的水平可为约20%重量至约40%重量,优选约15%重量至约20%重量的量。
除非水溶性胶基部分外,典型的口香糖组合物还包括水溶性填充部分。口香糖的水溶性部分还可包含软化剂、增甜剂、增香剂及其组合。增甜剂通常在口香糖胶基中履行填充剂的作用。
A.填充剂
口香糖的水溶性部分的主要部分应当包含充当填充剂的水溶性碳水化合物。在糖类口香糖中,这最通常是蔗糖,尽管可以另外或作为选择使用例如单独或任何组合的果糖、赤藓糖、右旋糖(葡萄糖)、左旋糖、塔格糖、半乳糖、淀粉糖浆干粉(corn syrup solids)等的糖。通常,无糖口香糖可使用糖醇(也称作醛醇、多元醇)作为填充剂,这是因为它们的低生龋性、降低的热焓和降低的血糖值的益处。这些糖醇包括单独或任何组合的山梨糖醇、甘露醇、木糖醇、氢化异麦芽酮糖、麦芽糖醇、赤藻糖醇、氢化淀粉水解产物固体等。较长链的糖类例如聚右旋糖、果寡糖由于它们降低的热量性质和其它健康益处而有时得到使用。填充型增甜剂既包括糖组分又包括无糖组分。填充型增甜剂通常占口香糖的约5%重量至约95%重量,更通常地,约20%重量至约80%重量,甚至更通常地,占口香糖的约30%重量至约60%重量。
B.软化剂
向口香糖中加入软化剂以便使口香糖的咀嚼性和口感最佳。本领域中通常称作增塑剂或塑化剂的软化剂通常占口香糖的约0.5%重量至约15%重量。这些包括甘油、丙二醇和增甜剂水溶液例如含有山梨糖醇的增甜剂水溶液。特别优选氢化淀粉水解产物和玉米或其它淀粉水解产物糖浆(有时称作葡萄糖糖浆)及它们的组合,因为它们还起到粘合剂的作用,从而改善口香糖的柔软性和其它物理性能。
C.高强度增甜剂
高强度增甜剂(其有时称作高效力或人造增甜剂)可限定为食品上可接受的化学品,其甜味是蔗糖的至少约20倍。通常使用的高强度增甜剂包括阿斯巴甜、三氯蔗糖和安赛蜜-K。较不常见的是糖精、甜味蛋白、阿力甜、纽甜(newtame)、甜蜜素(Cyclamate)、紫苏衍生增甜剂、甜菊(stevia)衍生增甜剂、monatin、甜味蛋白和查耳酮。高强度增甜剂的使用水平可随着增甜剂的效力、当地市场偏好和其它可给予该口香糖苦味的成分的性质和水平而变化很大。典型的水平可为约0.01%重量至约2%重量,尽管一些应用可指定在该范围之外使用。
D.食用香料
使用食用香料来给予口香糖产品特征性的芳香感觉。大多数食用香料是非水溶性液体或固体并且可以来源于天然或人造(合成)。通常将天然和人造食用香料组合。还通常以令人愉悦的组合将不同食用香料共混在一起。虽然口香糖中可使用的食用香料的范围几乎不受限制,但它们通常属于几个宽类别。水果食用香料包括柠檬、柑桔、莱檬、柚子、橘子、草莓、苹果、樱桃、树莓、黑莓、蓝莓、香蕉、菠萝、香瓜、甜瓜、西瓜、葡萄、醋栗、芒果、猕猴桃和许多其它水果以及它们的组合。薄荷食用香料包括荷兰薄荷、胡椒薄荷、鹿蹄草、罗勒、薄荷、薄荷醇及其混合物。辛食用香料(spice flavor)包括肉桂、香草、丁香、巧克力、肉豆蔻和许多其它辛食用香料。较不常用的是草药和香辣食用香料例如爆米花(popcorn)、红辣椒、玉米片等。典型的水平可为约0.1%重量至约10%重量。更典型地,该水平可为约0.5%重量至约3%重量,尽管一些应用可指定在该范围之外使用。
E.乳化剂
还可使用乳化剂来调节质构并且使胶基/口香糖的疏水和亲水组分可互溶。适合用于本发明的乳化剂包括但不限于单硬脂酸甘油酯、三乙酸甘油酯、卵磷脂、单或二甘油酯、乙酰化的单或二甘油酯和经蒸馏的单或二甘油酯。
F.包封
为提供较长持续时间的甜味和口味感觉,可能需要包封或以其它方式控制至少部分人造增甜剂的释放。可使用例如湿式粒化、蜡式粒化、喷雾干燥、喷雾激冷、流化床包衣、凝聚和纤维挤出的技术来获得所需的释放特性。
应注意的是,相比于用含有非热塑性或标准橡胶的胶基制成的口香糖,本发明的口香糖在高温(例如约80℃至约130℃)下可有利地具有较低的粘度;例如,本发明的口香糖在100℃下具有小于约5.0Pa.s的粘度。这种降低的粘度使这些口香糖特别适合于成型/铸造的口香糖、或者通过任何其它需要低粘度的方法制成的口香糖。目前,使用标准胶基通过降低胶基中弹性体的浓度和/或提高胶基中增塑剂的量,制备了具有相似粘度的口香糖。而在这两种情形中,所得口香糖具有较不“似橡胶”而更加“似蜡”或“似塑料”咀嚼质构的负面特性。
III.制备
本发明的口香糖可使用本领域已知的方法制得。例如,如美国专利No.6858237中所公开的,本发明的口香糖可通过包括如下步骤的连续方法制得:a)将胶基加入到高效连续混合机内;b)将至少一种增甜剂和至少一种食用香料加入到所述连续混合机内,并且将所述增甜剂和食用香料与剩余成分进行混合以形成口香糖产品;和c)其中在将所述成分之一加入到混合机中之后,在单一高效连续混合机的螺杆上用输送元件对其进行处理。
更典型地,使用西格玛叶片式混合机制备口香糖配方的间歇方法制得口香糖。根据本发明的这种口香糖制备方法经由将各种口香糖成分顺次加入到本领域已知的任何商购混合机中。在将所述成分彻底混合后,将口香糖从混合机中卸出并成形为所需形状,例如轧制成片或切割成棒、挤出成块或者铸造成粒。
通常,通过首先将胶基熔化并将其加入到运行的混合机中而将所述成分混合。还可在混合机自身中将胶基熔化。此时还可加入颜料和乳化剂。此时可将软化剂与糖浆或部分填充剂一起加入到混合机中。食用香料通常与最终部分的填充剂一起加入。本领域的普通技术人员熟知的是,可以按典型方式将其它任选成分加入到配料中。
通过下面的实施例进一步说明本发明。该实施例不应认为限制本发明的范围或其可实施的方式。
IV.实施例
A.胶基组成
测试两种不同的商购苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物:(i)Calprene 401:在溶液中聚合并具有辐射状结构的80/20丁二烯/苯乙烯热塑性嵌段共聚物;和(ii)Solprene S-4318:具有32%苯乙烯含量的苯乙烯和丁二烯的线性嵌段共聚物,其大多数形成给予聚合物热塑性特性的聚苯乙烯嵌段。
下表1显示了测试的五种胶基的组成。监测实验室混合时间并将其与标准橡胶所需混合时间进行对比。对所述胶基中的一些进行分析(表2)并使用这些胶基制备泡泡糖组合物且进行咀嚼(表3)。

对于本发明的胶基1和2,在约20分钟内完成实验室混合机中橡胶、树脂(即脂松香的甘油酯)和填料(即碾碎的石灰石)的共混,(共混温度为约120℃),而当使用无规苯乙烯-丁二烯橡胶时这花费约35分钟(对比胶基1和2)。考虑到在所有情形中需要约15分钟额外时间来加入增塑剂(即石蜡)和乳化剂(即单-二甘油酯和卵磷脂),使用包含苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的口香糖胶基的总混合时间减小30%(35分钟总时间,而不是50分钟)。然而,在这一点上应注意的是,本文测试的热塑性橡胶是以球粒形式给出,而标准无规苯乙烯-丁二烯橡胶是以一种片块形式给出。这可归因于混合时间减小;一种此时未进行量化的贡献。

本发明胶基在逐渐提高温度时变得较软和塑性更大的这种能力,可使它们特别适于制备在高温下进行沉积或成型的口香糖。
B.口香糖外形
本发明口香糖1具有硬且似橡胶的嚼用外形(chewing profile)并且出人意料地产生优异的泡泡,这些泡泡的尺寸比用标准胶基(如对比口香糖2)获得的泡泡的尺寸大。本发明口香糖2也具有硬且似橡胶的嚼用外形,但泡泡容量比本发明口香糖1小。对比口香糖1具有软的塑性嚼用外形,该外形具有差的泡泡容量。事实上,在泡泡糖配方中不单独使用SBR 75:25橡胶,而是与SBR 50:50共混。对比口香糖2具有中等硬度的咀嚼,具有平衡的似橡胶的性质和良好的泡泡。可认为对比口香糖2是典型的泡泡糖组合物。
由于本发明胶基1和本发明胶基2的嚼用外形非常类似于橡胶,因此制得新的胶基组合物(本发明胶基3),从而降低热塑性橡胶和树脂(脂松香的甘油酯)的百分数并且提高增塑剂(石蜡)的量。本发明口香糖3具有非常类似于典型泡泡糖(对比口香糖2)的质构,具有产生比平均更大的泡泡的能力。

Claims (18)

弹性体增塑剂。
2.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物是苯乙烯-丁二烯嵌段共聚物。
3.权利要求1或2的胶基,其中基于胶基的总重量,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物以1%重量至30%重量的浓度存在。
4.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述弹性体在190℃具有0.5g/10分钟至20g/10分钟的熔体流动指数。
5.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述弹性体具有0.5Pa.s至25Pa.s的25%重量甲苯溶液粘度。
6.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述弹性体具有60至70的肖氏A硬度。
7.权利要求1的胶基,其中基于苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的总重量,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物具有20%重量至35%重量的苯乙烯含量。
8.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物与第二弹性体混合。
9.权利要求8的胶基,其中所述第二弹性体是苯乙烯-丁二烯无规共聚物。
10.权利要求8或9的胶基,其中基于弹性体的总重量,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物以75%重量至99%重量的浓度存在于弹性体中。
11.权利要求1的胶基,其中基于胶基的总重量,弹性体增塑剂以10%重量至90%重量的浓度存在于胶基中。
12.权利要求1的胶基,其中所述弹性体增塑剂是木松香的甘油酯。
13.权利要求1的胶基,其进一步包含一种或多种选自填料、软化剂、脂肪、油、树脂、抗氧化剂和着色剂的化合物。
14.制备口香糖胶基的连续方法,其中使用单一连续混合装置来实施所有的添加和混配步骤,该方法包括:
向单挤出机加入一组组分中的全部来制备所需的口香糖胶基,所述口香糖胶基包括弹性体和弹性体增塑剂,其中所述弹性体包含苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物,且其中所述弹性体与所述弹性体增塑剂分隔开从而各自单独地加入到挤出机中;
在挤出机中提供至少两个混合区;和
由该单挤出机制备口香糖胶基。
15.权利要求14的连续方法,其中所述苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物是苯乙烯-丁二烯嵌段共聚物。
16.权利要求14或15的连续方法,其中基于胶基的总重量,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物以1%重量至30%重量的浓度存在。
17.权利要求14或15的连续方法,其中基于苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物的总重量,苯乙烯-二烯烃嵌段共聚物具有20%重量至35%重量的苯乙烯含量。
18.口香糖,其包含:
水溶性胶部分;和
非水溶性胶基部分,其中所述胶基部分包含权利要求1至13中任一项所定义的胶基。
