背景技术
移动电话或终端正在发展成为非常鲁棒的语音和数据设备,所述设备能够向用户提供类型不断增长的服务。移动终端用户出于习惯经常重复相同或类似的动作。遗憾的是,用户每次都被要求输入相同的数据以获得相同的结果。因为与移动终端有关的许多输入机构由于移动终端的便携式特性而为小型的,所以这对用户来说会是乏味的。在监视相对较小的显示器的同时使用相对较小的小键盘会让人丧气。

如在此所用的术语移动终端包括移动蜂窝电话或手机以及可以访问蜂窝网络的其他便携式无线通信设备。
图1说明一种以示出了与本发明有关的硬件和软件部件的移动终端(蜂窝电话)100的形式的便携式无线通信设备。本发明采取软件应用的形式,所述软件应用协调、控制并处理用户输入以努力记录和发现用户的重复输入模式。重复输入模式可以涉及移动终端的许多功能方面,包括但不限于:语音通信(电话拨号、电话设置),数据通信(SMS或MMS消息传送、电子邮件、因特网访问和浏览、连通性IR或蓝牙或者串行电缆),电话管理(诸如音量、背景显示、主题、照相机动作、文件管理之类的简档设置)和应用管理(电话簿、联系、日历、任务)等。
基本前提要求持续运行后台应用程序以监视和存储用户输入以及同时发生的与用户输入有关的上下文数据。称为“智能方式应用”的该后台应用程序还挖掘原始用户输入数据以寻找重复模式。当用户开始新的输入序列时,智能方式应用可以将该输入识别为一个先前使用过的输入并向用户提供“完成”该输入。这将节省用户人工键入输入数据的时间和气力。
移动终端100可以包括几种输入方式,例如照相机105(静止图像或视频)、小键盘110、话筒115和触摸屏显示器120。照相机输入可以包括手势识别。话筒输入可以包括语音命令,小键盘输入包括一个或多个键按压。触摸屏输入包括与显示器上的特定区域的响应接触。借助于微处理器125在后台中执行的智能方式应用145监视来自这些输入方式的用户输入,并将原始输入数据存储在数据库140中。智能方式应用145还访问其他的移动终端部件,包括但不限于:固定存储器130,以及诸如SIM卡、微型闪存、记忆棒等等之类的一个或多个可移动存储设备135。
图2说明了用于预测用户对移动终端的输入意图的步骤。智能方式应用在功能上可以被分成两种方式。第一方式是学习方式。第二方式是模式挖掘方式。
在学习方式中,智能方式应用将对移动终端的所有用户输入210记录220到原始用户输入数据库230中。除了实际输入之外,学习方式部件还将上下文数据添加到用户输入记录上。上下文数据可以包括但不限于:时间和日期戳、地理位置数据、网络呼叫或者数据动作、以及当前移动终端的简档设置。上下文数据提供了允许模式挖掘方式240来发现可能在时间和/或空间上相关以及仅内容相关的用户输入模式。例如,用户可能每天在同一时间或者大约相同的时间拨打相同的号码。或者,用户可能每个早晨在近似相同的时间来检查他的日历。上下文数据允许模式挖掘方式来发现以定期安排间隔发生的输入内容。
模式挖掘方式240还在后台运行。它持续处理用于输入模式的不断膨胀的原始用户输入数据库。它利用实际内容数据和上下文数据来执行它的分析,以找出重复输入模式。模式挖掘方式还监视当前用户输入,以使当当前输入出现在已识别输入模式250的数据库中时可以对其进行比较。当阈值表明很可能发生匹配时,智能方式应用可以采取行动。
对于智能方式应用而言,最可能的动作是将预计的用户输入的剩余部分推到显示器中,并提示用户这是否是他的意图260。提示之前可以是可听(音调)、物理(振动)或者可视(闪光图标等等)的警告以提示用户可能已经识别模式。如果是这样的话,那么用户可以相应地表明他接受或者拒绝提示270。如果用户接受提示,那么智能方式应用将自动执行输入的序列本将完成的期望的功能或动作。如果用户拒绝提示,那么他可以自由地继续人工输入到移动终端中。
如果智能方式应用检测到作为用户意图的具有很高置信度的模式,那么智能方式应用可以绕过用户提示步骤并自动启动动作280。例如,用户可能期望每个早晨的上午7:30在他的设备上自动显示他的日历。当设备的时钟表明上午7:30时,日历将自动显示。如果用户在7:30之前但接近于7:30启动对日历的输入,那么智能方式应用确信这是用户的意图并可以自动执行任务。
有时用户输入可能表示诸如撰写将被发送的消息之类的部分任务。智能方式还可以识别出用户想要撰写消息但还不知道(一个或多个)预定接受者。在这种情况下,智能方式应用可以基于用户输入的已识别模式执行尽可能多的任务。消息屏幕将被呈现给用户,以使他键入接受者数据和消息内容或者附加数据。智能方式可以继续监视内容输入并可以识别新的模式。在这种情况下,如果当输入接受者或者内容数据时,智能方式应用可以识别所述接受者或者内容数据,那么用户可能不必输入全部的接受者或者内容数据。因此,本发明的预测性输入方面本质上可以是增长的,从而意味着构成总任务或动作的子任务或子动作可以被独立地识别并对其作用。
本发明的优点在于,它能够减少移动终端用户重复相同或类似输入以完成特定任务的需要。
如果期望的话,可以由用户来禁用智能方式应用。另外,如果原始用户输入数据库230变得太大,则可以对其进行清理。一旦已经达到数据库大小限制,则以时间为基础通过清除过去六个月或更多个月的所有记录的方式来进行清理。确切的时间阈值可以被更改以适合用户。同样,如果已识别输入模式数据库250变得太大,那么也可以对其进行清理。
应当注意:以各种计算机程序指令的形式的计算机程序代码可被用于实施在实现本发明的实施例时所涉及的至少部分过程。这种计算机程序代码可以经由计算机程序产品来提供,所述计算机程序产品包括存储在介质上的全部或者部分计算机程序指令。介质可以是固定的或者可移动的。这种介质可以是固定存储介质,但是它也可以仅仅容易地是可移动光盘或磁盘或者磁带。计算机程序指令可以驻留在任何介质上,所述介质可以包含、存储、传送、传播或者传输计算机程序代码,以供任何类型的计算平台、指令执行系统或者经由总线或网络互连的这种系统的集合来执行。这种计算机可读介质例如可以是但不限于:电子、磁性、光学、电磁、红外线或者半导体的系统或设备。

Claims (8)

创建要附加到原始用户输入数据记录的上下文数据记录(220);
将组合的原始用户输入数据记录和上下文数据记录存储在原始用户输入数据库中(230);
处理在原始用户输入数据库中所包含的记录以识别用户输入的重复模式(240);
将用户输入的重复模式存储在已识别输入模式数据库中(250);
监视对移动终端的当前输入;
将当前用户输入与在已识别输入模式数据库中所存储的重复模式进行比较;以及
在当前输入与数据库中的重复模式在指定容差内匹配时,提示用户允许移动终端完成输入数据的过程(260)。
2.权利要求1所述的方法,还包括在提示用户允许移动终端完成输入数据的过程之前向用户提供警告。
3.权利要求1所述的方法,还包括清除原始用户输入数据库内已经超过指定日期的数据。

5.一种预测用户对移动终端的输入的方法,包括:

监视对移动终端的当前输入;
将当前用户输入与在已识别输入模式数据库中所存储的重复模式进行比较;以及
