本发明涉及数据的预装载。
背景技术
由于移动电话和其它手持电子设备变得越来越复杂,它们在已经开机之后需要更久才达到操作状态。现代移动电话可能需要花费超过一分钟时间来进行引导。之所以这样是因为包括设备为了达到操作状态而需要的基本软件在内的设备操作系统正在变得更复杂,并且需要更久才能将其从非易失性存储器装载到工作存储器中并且将设备在操作过程中使用的变量和其它设置置于操作配置中。由于用户偏好于在他们开启设备之后尽可能快地使用设备而使这一点成为问题。
这一问题的一种解决方案是让用户使设备无论是在完全操作模式中还是在处理器基本上停用而工作存储器仍然被供电的挂起模式中都一直通电。然而,在电池供电的设备情况下,这样将耗尽电池功率并且减少设备在充电之前可以使用的时间。另外,一些用户偏好于将他们的设备完全地关机,从而例如如果它是移动电话则它不会由于响铃来打扰他们。

发明内容
因此需要一种装载设备正常操作所需要的基本软件的改进方法。
除了由用户手动地操作开关来开机之外,一些设备还可以自动地开机。这一点的一个例子是一些移动电话可以在它们的闹钟功能启用并且达到闹钟时间和/或闹钟被用户确认而不是再响(snooze,开启贪睡闹铃)时自动地开机。为了实现这一点,这样的电话除了具有在电话的正常操作过程中使用的主要处理功能之外还具有在电话处于它的“关机”状态时处理后台进程的后台处理功能。后台功能使用与主要处理功能相比非常少的功率。由后台处理功能所处理的操作包括维护实时时钟、执行闹钟和提醒功能(至少在电话处于它的“关机”状态时)以及检测将要触发设备开机的外部事件,比如按压“开机”按钮和连接到外部电源。

在本发明的优选实施例中,通信终端1是提供闹钟设施的移动电话。当电话关机时,闹钟设施由电话的后台功能来操作。当达到由用户设置的闹钟时间时,后台功能可以使电话重新开机并且使闹钟发声。在本发明中,电话的开机在闹钟时间之前不久开始,使得在闹钟时间之前有时间装载电话基本软件(例如它的操作系统和关联变量中的一些或者全部)。这允许在设备关机时节省功率,而设备在闹钟时间具有全部功能。
现在将更具体地描述图1所示系统。
移动电话1包括根据存储于只读存储器13中的软件来控制电话操作的中央处理单元16。中央处理单元连接到用于向用户显示信息的显示器12、用于从用户获得输入的键盘10、用于输出音频以便用户收听的扬声器7和用于从用户接收音频的麦克风8。中央处理单元包含能够如同外部RAM3那样可以用来存储临时数据的随机存取存储器(RAM)2。

移动电话还具有用于与移动电话网络通信的通信子系统11。通信子系统包括天线15和通信引擎14。通信引擎20连接于天线与处理器10之间。通信引擎处理基带与射频之间的转换并且处理与无线网络的信令通信。通信引擎的至少一些功能元件可以与中央处理单元的一个或者多个部分一起实施于共同的芯片上。

移动电话可以根据任何适当的通信协议进行操作。例子包括GSM和3G(UMTS)。
当电话通过用户按压键盘10上的上电键来开机时,该电话通过将它的基本软件从ROM装载到工作存储器中来开启。那一过程通常包括配置操作变量以供使用。一旦那一过程完成,它可以开始向用户提供功能。

如果开机例程在预设开机时间之前完成,则用户接口设备(例如显示器)中的一些或者所有设备在开机时间之前优选地保持掉电。这节省了电池功率。
在可选的操作模式中,电话可以在达到预设闹钟接通时间时继续装载软件并且如果需要则下载内容数据,无论用户是否按压按钮进入再响模式。这与直至用户实际上取消闹钟才装载基本软件的现有技术中的电话相比提供了优点。
在任一模式中,如果在从闹钟接通时间起的预设时间段(例如20分钟)内没有取消或者确认闹钟,则电话关机并且重新进入它的睡眠状态。
如果开机例程被启动但是电话没有维持到下一闹钟的足够功率,则它自动地切换到睡眠状态而不装载基本软件以便保存功率。在后台处理系统的控制之下,它然后在闹钟接通时间重新唤醒以便发出闹铃声。如果电话没有维持到闹钟停止的足够功率,则即使在关机状态中仍向用户告警他们需要对电话充电。

Claims (15)

1.一种电池供电的设备,包括:
存储器,存储所述设备的正常功能的提供所必需的软件;
第一处理部分,包括能够执行所述软件的数据处理器,所述设备能够在该设备可以执行所述软件的正常模式中和在低功率模式中操作所述第一处理部分;
第二处理部分,具有用于维护时间的时钟,并且能够响应于比用户设置的时间提前预设超前间隔的所述时钟的时间来触发所述设备的行为;
所述设备被配置成响应于在所述第一处理部分处于所述低功率模式时所述第二处理部分的触发来使所述第一处理部分进入所述正常模式并且装载所述软件。
