Apparatus for kneading and coating masses of cocoa, chocolate or other similar masses. The present invention relates to an apparatus intended for working, that is to say for the processing and conching of cocoa, chocolate or other pastes - similar masses.
This apparatus comprises a tank, containing a stirring and rolling device and scrapers, as well as an emptying device; it is characterized in that the, stirring and rolling device is constituted by groups of stirring and rolling members, each of these members being driven in a three-way forced movement, namely a rotary movement around its own axis, in a circular movement around the axis of its group, and in a circular movement around the axis of the tank, all this in order to obtain a great intensity of mixing of the mass in treatment, and to be able to regulate and accelerate the evacuation of the latter.
In the accompanying drawing .is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in elevation with vertical section of the tank; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the latter.
The apparatus consists of two frames A and <I> A '</I> joined by a strong crosspiece <I> B, </I> the whole in box, supporting the circular tank C, the control of the device and the device of the knurls and scrapers.
The frames support the tank. C clans which are engaged the rollers P and P 'supported by the shafts N and N' and bringing to, gentle friction on the bottom of the tank C. The rollers P and P 'which in the example shown are profiled in pear-shaped, are mated in pairs and ordered so as to. each perform the following movements: a) A continuous rotary movement around the axis of the tank C; b) A continuous circular movement around the shaft controlling each of the pairs; c) A continuous circular motion on themselves.
The rotational movement transmitted to the horizontal control shaft provided with fixed and idle pulleys E <I> E '</I> and F F', is communicated to a vertical shaft G by the conical pins <I> D </I> and D '. On the cross member <I> B </I> is fixed the right pinion "J, in which the pinions K <I> K ', </I> mesh respectively on the shafts I controlling the different pairs of knurls and carried by a cross-support H, wedged on the shaft G.
By this provision, the; crankcase cross member H is driven in a continuous circular motion around the axis G, while the shafts I also receive a rotational motion on themselves, as the gears h and IC unwind along of the fixed gear J.
At each end of the cross-support <I> II </I> is fixed a gear L (playing the same role as the gear J), meshing with the pinions Dl and N 'wedged on the shafts N and N' of the wheels P and P ', carried by the crankcase cross member 0, itself wedged on the shaft 1. In this way, the shaft I drives the crankcase cross member 0 in its rotational movement around the shaft G in printing to, this traverse and to the knurls P and P 'a rotational movement around itself, which further results in. rotate knobs P and P 'around their axes <I> N and N'. </I>
On the crankcase cross member H is fixed, extending from the shaft G, a spinner Q agitating the material in the opening of the drain valve R of the tank, so as to prevent the material from stagnating in this opening and also to help it out when emptying.
A shaft <I> T, </I> wedged on the crankcase crosspiece <I> H </I> parallel to the bottom of the tank C, carries the scrapers U. And U 'intended to constantly bring the dough back into the range of action of carpet P and P ', as well as the mobile scraper Y (fig. 2) adjustable by means of a handwheel and which is only used when emptying.
Vessel C is fitted with a double jacket for its heating by water and steam, steam alone or for cooling by water, depending on the work to be carried out. Although fig. 1 represents the double envelope only for the bottom, it can completely surround the tank.
In order to avoid splashing the dough outside the tank, the latter has a flange S added or come from the foundry with it, forcing the material to fall back into the tank.
The axes of the actual stirring and rolling members can move axially in their control pinions; their upper end which is provided with a thread pitch and carries a nut with locknut, passes through a cap located on their control pinion, all this in order to be able to adjust the distance between the bottom of the tank and said components brewing and rolling.
The stirring and rolling members may have a different cello shape shown, for example the shape of plowshares or the like. The wheels P and P 'can be smooth or fluted, they can have a flat or convex underside and can be provided with any suitable roughness. The apparatus shown has two pairs of knurls, the 0 car ters of which are set at <B> 90 '</B> from each other; the number of these pairs could however be increased in the case of large devices.
The commando of the vertical shaft G could be different from that represented; it is useful, however, for it to allow starting at low speed, at the start of the operation, until the moment when the state of fluidity of the dough makes it possible to turn at a more considerable speed. This results in a notable reduction in the power demanded by the apparatus, which, without this arrangement, would be considerable when started.
