High viscosity fuel burner. The subject of the invention is a burner for fuel of high viscosity, such as for example so-called "colloidal" fuel, a mixture of pulverized coal and oil, etc., characterized by a fuel injection nozzle into which opens at least one fuel nozzle and one hot fluid inlet, the caloric action of which serves to reduce the viscosity of the fuel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, different embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial vertical section; Fig. 2 a horizontal section, and FIG. 3 an end view of a single jet burner; Fig. 4, 5 and 6 are corresponding views of a second embodiment, showing a triple jet burner; Fig. 7 and 8 are respectively side and front elevations of detail showing the arrival of steam and fuel to this three-jet burner;
Fig. 9, 10 and 12 are views corresponding to FIGS. L, '?, 3 of a third embodiment, showing a triple jet burner provided with means for adjusting their angular position; Fig. 11 is a cross section taken through the fuel passages on the axis of this setting.
In the first embodiment shown in fig. 1 to 3, a indicates the arrival of the fuel via a tube inclined on the axis of the burner, as shown and opening into an annular fuel chamber b. A pipe c for a primary inlet of the hot fluid to reduce the viscosity of the colloidal fuel is arranged axially in the chamber b. The front end of this pipe is conical, so as to constitute an injection nozzle e.
The externally conical part of this nozzle is disposed in the axis of a conical recess formed inside a plug f constituting the front end of the annular fuel chamber <I> b. </I> Between this plug <I> f </I> and the nozzle e is formed an equally conical passage of annular section, which opens into a nozzle <I> f </I> <B> 1 </B> coming from manufacture with the plug <I> f, </I> and disposed in the axis of an annular chamber g, into which opens a secondary hot fluid inlet g4. The front end of this annular chamber g is conical and opens into the combustion nozzle k- of the burner, which nozzle has a flattened shape.
The conical anterior part of the chamber g and the outer surface of the nozzle f 1 are of a shape and dimensions with respect to each other such that the secondary inlet of the fluid will pass through the chamber g and will open into the nozzle k at a speed higher than that of the mixture leaving the nozzle <I> f 1 </I> to also open into the nozzle 1t.
The fluid inlets 04 and; q4 are connected to the steam pipes by a suitable connection device, such as the nuts g5 and g6.
The burner body comprises two main parts A and <I> B. </I> Part <I> B </I> consists of a hollow cast iron cylinder, forming the fuel inlet chamber, open at a for the admission of it. This cylinder came from manufacture with a flange connection a 'for connection to the fuel supply line. At the rear part of this part B is internally screwed the pipe c ending in the nozzle e for the primary admission of the fluid. At the other end of this part B is screwed the plug f, the front part of which forms the nozzle f 1 for the fuel.
The plug f also serves as a connecting piece for the two parts <I> A </I> and <I> b '</I> of the burner body, part A. being screwed onto the part of this plug which protrudes from part B. The nozzle k and the secondary steam inlet <B> 9 </B> 4 are manufactured with this part A.
In the second embodiment shown in fig. 4, 5, G, i and 8, the nozzle k is triple jet. The <I> c '</I> c2 c3 steam injection nozzles are screwed as in the first form to the rear part of part B of the burner body, which in this form has a very elongated section and is internally subdivided into three chambers b1 b2 b3. The two parts A. and B, forming the body of the burner,
respectively carry flanges A. ' <I> and B '</I> used to connect them by means of bolts and nuts. The jets f 1 f 'are arranged, as in the first fo:
execution, respectively in the nozzle axis c 'c2 c3. There are three distinct chambers g1 g2 g3 in which the three secondary fluid inlets g '91 loop. The operation of each jet respectively is the same as that of the previous execution fo:
The fuel inlet connection leads to the fuel chamber hundred b2, while the fuel connection communicates by means of branches and a4 with the two side chambers respectively b1 and b3.
These three fuel inlets (fig are controlled by means of valves ç m housed in a body o, which is fixed by means of flanges, bolted on the one hand, flanges a_ a9 a4 and, on the other p to.
the main supply line for the supply <I> D. </I> The valves <I> q </I> and in are activated respectively by a hand lever and ml, the lever q 'controlling the admission ,
fuel in the central chamber and the lever iitl the admission of fuel in the two side chambers b1 and These two control levers q 'and ml 1 can be operated simultaneously or ir pendammeut so as to allow the central jet to operate or that two side jets or the three jets at the end The primary and secondary hot fluid inlet is controlled by the valves P <I> PI </I> and Q <B> QI </B> respectively.
The valve is connected by a pipe g $ to the primary fit nozzle e2, and the valve P 'is connected by pipe g' to the primary fluid nozzles;
and e3. The valve Q is connected by a pipe to the chamber of the secondary nozzle of flr g2, and the valve <B> QI </B> by a pipe g 'chambers for the secondary fluid g1 and As well as these two fluid admissions 1 wind be controlled, in a manner cor pendent to the fuel inlet, sin tanérnent or independently in the central jet f 2 and in the two side jets f 'and f 3.
In the third embodiment shown in fig. 9, 10, 11 and 12 the burner is also with three jets, arranged in the same way as in the previous form, but in addition, means are provided for adjusting the angular position of the nozzles arranged inside the chambers combustion. The fuel inlet passages on part B of the burner body constitute journals making it possible to adjust the inclination of the burner with respect to a firebox. com bustion (not shown).
The passage a, bringing the fuel into the central chamber b2, comprises a flange forming a journal B2, while the passages a3 and a4, leading respectively into the chambers b1 and 83, meet and pass through an opposite flange forming a journal B3.
The flanges B2 and B3 are fixed by means of bolts and nuts to the corresponding flanges of the fuel inlet pipes, in such a way that by tightening and tightening the nuts the angular position of the burner can be adjusted.
