Margeur automatique.
Automatic feeder. The object of the invention is an automatic feeder. It comprises, like the embodiment described in the disclosure of the invention of the main patent, at least a pair of arms mobili the holders of vacuum cleaners which remove the sheet from the pile of sheets to put it back to grippers also carried by said arms, which take it by the edges to lead it to the machine on which it is to be used. But it differs in that it has blowers working with "suction vacuum cleaners to separate from the other sheets the sheet placed at the top of the pile of sheets in order to put it back to the grippers carried by the movable arms.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view thereof, FIG. 2 a top view; Fig. 3 is a front view of the feeder table and of the movable plate which is placed on this table; Figs. 4, 5 and 6 are, on a larger scale than that of the preceding figures, a front view, a top view and a side view of the control device for the vacuum cleaners and blowers that the feeder comprises, FIG. 7 is, also on a larger scale than that of FIGS. 1 to 3,
a side view of another embodiment of a device causing the vacuum cleaners to vibrate.
Figs. 8 and 9 are views of a detail. The feeder shown in fig. 1 to 6, is arranged on a, horizontal table 1, on which is arranged a movable plate_2 por as a stack 3 of sheets of paper, plate which can oscillate and slide, as will be seen below, on pins 4 mounted on the bottom part. The feeder rests towards its anterior part on an inclined table h.
The horizontal table 1 has supports 6 as well as a support 6 ', placed between the two previous ones, which carry a rotary shaft 7 rotated by a device which is not shown in the drawing, shaft 7 which is provided, at the 'one of its ends, a crank 7' allowing said shaft to be turned by hand. On this shaft 7 are mounted two movable arms 8 and 9 identical to each other, which are connected to said shaft 7 by means of members 10, 10 'in the form of <B> U, </B> on the middle part of which the arms 8, 9 are fixed. At their front ends, these arms are provided with joints 11, 11 'on which the front parts 8', 9 'of the movable arms are mounted.
The rotary shaft 7 carries two bevel toothed wheels 12, 12 'which actuate, when the machine is in operation, bevel gears 13, 13' mounted at one of the ends of the shafts 14, 14 'arranged at the interior of the movable arms 8 and 9 and which have, at the other end, conical pi gnons 15, 15 '. The latter mesh with bevel gears 16, 16 'mounted on shafts 17, 17' serving as axes for the joints 11, 11 'and on the ends of which are mounted toothed wheels 18, 18'. The front parts 8 ', 9' of the movable arms also carry toothed wheels 19, 19 'identical to the toothed wheels 18, 18'.
On the toothed wheels 18, 19 passes title chain 20, sui, the wheels 18 ', 19' a chain 20 ', these chains 20 and 20' being for views each of clamps 21 (fig. 8 and 9) for the taking of 'a sheet of paper, clamps which have a body 21', the lower part of which forms one of the jaws of the clamp, fixed on one of the links of the chain and an angled arm 212, which forms the another jaw of the gripper and which can oscillate on an axis 213 provided on the body 21 'and provided with a return spring 214, grippers whose opening movements, when they grasp a sheet of paper from the pile 3 leaves, and when they release the latter, after having brought it to the table 5, are controlled by tabs 215 and 21,
which are mounted on the shafts which carry the toothed wheels driving the chains. The front parts 8 ', 9' of the movable arms are each provided with a support 22, having at its lower part a ga let 23 which can roll on the inclined table 5. The supports 6 carry, in addition to the ar- bre 7, two threaded shafts 24, 25 arranged the other way above the other and of which one 24, extends between a support 6 and the support 6 ', while the shaft 25 extends between the two supports 6, 6 ', over the entire width of the table. The shaft 24 is connected to the member 10 'by means of a tab 26, and the shaft 25 is connected to the member 10 by means of a tab 27.
These two threaded shafts 24, 25 which have titi square at their front end, can be rotated by means of a removable crank 28 which can be placed at will on one or the other of these shafts, in order to adjust the spacing of the movable arms relative to each other. The height of the movable plate 2 oscillating on the journals 4 can be adjusted by means of an angled lever 29 which can turn on a titi journal 30 mounted on one of the supports 6.
One of the arms of said lever has a slide in which to move a finger 31 provided at the end of a threaded rod 32 provided with a crank 33 and mounted on said support 6. By turning the crank by hand 33 in Him direction or the other, one moves, in the corresponding direction, the hard elbow lever arm presenting the slide, while the other arm of said elbow lever is lowered, for example, cry weighing on the rear part of the movable plate 2, which has the effect of lifting the front part of the movable plate, or else by turning the crank in the opposite direction to the previous one,
we will raise the arm of the angled lever presenting the slide; the other arm will also rise while releasing the rear part of the movable plate 2, the front part of which will be lowered. The journals 4 mounted at the lower part of the mobile plate 2 are of sufficient length to allow titi lateral displacement of the mobile plate 2.
The vacuum cleaners removing the top sheet from the pile of leaves are mounted on supports 34, 35 identical to the other and of which the only one, 34, shown in figs. 4 to 6, will be described here. Each vacuum cleaner com carries a suction cup 36, mounted at the lower end of a metal tube 37, the upper end of which is connected by means of a rubber tube 38 to a suction device not shown in the accompanying drawing. The support 34 of one of the vacuum cleaners is placed on an axis 44 (fig. 4) which can be slid into a housing provided in the part of the articulation <B> Il '</B> which is fixed to the arm. mobile 9.
Said support 34 is of folds guided by a rod 45 fixed in the aforementioned part of the articulation 11 'and its movements are controlled by levers 46, 47 articulated to one another and one of which, 46, is provided with a roller 48 which rolls on a cam 49 actuated by the shaft 14 'seen above; actuated by means of bevel gears 13 ', 12' by the rotary shaft 7. This cam 49, by rotating, communicates, through said. lever 46 and from the connecting rod 47 to the support 34, an up and down movement and drives the vacuum cleaner with it. A spring 54 stretched between two rods 55, 56, one of which, 55 is fixed to the support 34 and the other 56, to the articulation 11, maintains the roller 48 in contact with the cam 49.
The metal tube 37 of the latter is provided with a sleeve 50 fixed by two tightening screws 51 on the tube itself, a sleeve which carries a roller 52 which rolls on a ramp 53, screwed on the joint 11.
The suction support 34 has, at its front part, a member 34 'pivotally mounted on the support 34 so as to allow an oscillating or vibrating movement, as will be seen below, with the vacuum cleaner.
On the support 34 is fixed, moreover, by one of its ends, a rod 57, at the other end of which is mounted a flower bell 39. The latter is formed of a metal tube 41, fixed. on the rod 57 and having at either lower end a spout 40, provided with an orifice for the exit of the air, metal tube 41 whose other end is connected, by means of a rubber tube 42, to , a device for compressing air, not shown in the accompanying drawing. The two blowers, like the two vacuums, are identical to each other. The operation of the feeder is as follows: an sets the rotary shaft 7 in motion.
The latter, by the bevel gears 12, 12 ', 13 and 13' transmits its rotation to the chains 20 and 20 'by means of the gear trains 15, 16, 15', 16 '; the clamps 21, operating at the same time as the chains on which they are mounted, take on the stack 3 of sheets of paper, that which is placed at the upper part, and which has been separated from those which are placed directly below by the action of the flower blowers and the vacuum cleaners, of which the cam set actuated by the shaft 7, ensured the operation, that is to say,
sent by the blowers a jet of compressed air to separate the leaves and transmitted to the vacuum cleaners a suction which lasts until the moment when the grippers 21 come to seize the leaves hand held by the vacuum cleaners. At this moment, the action of the blowers and the vacuum cleaners ceases, and the sheet is taken by the grippers 21 on the inclined table 5 where it is abandoned at the time desired by these said grippers. The height adjustment of the movable plate 2 is carried out by hand by the crank 33, that of the spacing of the movable arms 8 and 9 by the crank 28.
The vacuum cleaners, from the moment their suction action has started, until this action ceases, are lifted with the support 34 by means of the levers 46; 47 and of the roller 48 by the cam 49; they also undergo, during this upward movement, ut: movement of oscillation or vibration which is communicated to them by the roller 52, rolling on the ramps 53 which have an irregular profile, in order, precisely, to communicate to the vacuum cleaners this vibrating movement which has the effect of detaching more properly the sheet placed at the top of the pile of leaves 3.
The device, identical for the two vacuum cleaners and only one of which is described here, causes the vacuum cleaners to vibrate, shown in FIG. 7, comprises a ramp 60 which can oscillate on an axis 61, provided at its upper end and which is carried by a support 62, disposed at the rear part of the articulation 11. This ramp 60 is held in the hand. inclined position in which it is shown in the drawing, by a spring 63 fixed by a sort upper end to the support 62 and the other end of which bears on a spout 64 provided on the ramp 60.
The roller 52, carried by the sleeve 50 mounted on the metal tube 37 of the vacuum cleaner, rolls when the vacuum cleaner descends, during the operation of the feeder, against the back of the joint 11, back against which it is maintained by an elastic device not shown in the drawing and which forces it to remain in contact with the back of said articulation.
It passes behind the ramp 60 and while descending, pushes the latter which oscillates on its axis 61, in the direction indicated by the arrow '65 (fig. 7), but as soon as the roller 52 has passed the ramp 60, the latter , returned to the inclined position by its return spring 63 resumes the position in which it is shown in FIG. 7.
When the vacuum cleaner is brought upwards, obeying the movements communicated to it by the cam 49, seen above, the roller 52 rolls on the uneven part of the ramp 60 against which it is kept in contact by the device. elastic aforementioned and not shown in the accompanying drawing, then after reaching the upper end of the ramp, it is brought horizontally against the "back of the joint 11, by said elastic device.
This embodiment of the device causing the vibration of the vacuum cleaners, allows the latter a vertical downward movement, so that the suction cup 36, mounted at the lower end of the metal tube 37, is applied flat on the sheet of paper which must be lifted, and the movement in the horizontal direction, which is communicated to the vacuum cleaner at the moment <B> when </B> the roller 52 has run over the ramp 60, allows the introduction, flat also, from the edge of the sheet removed by the vacuum cleaner, in the clamps 21 carried by the chain 20.
This vibrating movement of the aspirators can be communicated to them either during the upstroke, or during the downstroke, or during both strokes, depending on the moment at which the grippers will have to grip the sheet of paper and which may vary according to the kind of work required of the feeder. It will suffice for this to modify the shape of the ramps 53.
The height adjustment of the movable plate 2 could be carried out automatically by the rotation of the shaft 7, actuating a gear train which would act on the threaded rod 32, therefore on the bent lever 29.
The supports 6 and 6 'carrying the rotating shaft 7, instead of being fixed on the horizontal table 1 of the feeder, can be mounted on a horizontal beam, against which the table 1 can be brought. The cranks 7 'and 28, by means of which the shafts 7, 24 and 25 can be turned by hand, could be replaced by an interchangeable removable crank, the squares provided on said shafts being made, for this purpose, identical to the ones naked to others.
The position of the blowers in relation to that of the vacuum cleaners may differ from that shown in the accompanying drawing.
The articulation of the vacuum cleaners can be moved and brought back to their lower end.
