The present invention relates to a feeding device. for machine working cardboard sheets, according to the claim of the main patent, that is to say, comprising at least one stop,
against which rests a stack of sheets resting on at least one constantly moving conveyor belt to drive the lower sheet, to which passes the space reserved between the foot of the stopper and the dragging surface of the belt, and a pair lifting members, one on each side of the belt, in the immediate vicinity of the stopper, and capable of lifting the stack of sheets, so as to at least partially break contact with the belt ,
these members being remotely controlled in synchronism with the operations of the machine.
This device is characterized according to the present invention, in that the lifting members are levers having a flat surface which, in the lowered position, comes to be placed immediately below the underside of the sheet resting on the one or more. belts, levers oscillating around an axis situated in front of the stop relative to the direction of transport and parallel to the front edge of the transported sheets, the breaking of contact with the belt (s) being caused by a tilting of said levers,
which extend under the stack, behind the stopper.
The drawing shows semi-schematically an embodiment of the device according to the invention given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a side view with the stack elevator levers lowered.
Fig. 2 is a partial elevational view thereof from the right in relation to FIG. 1.
Figs. 3 and 4 explain the position of the lowered levers, respectively raised, at the location of the stop. Fig. 5 relates to a detail of the suspension of the levers, making it possible to achieve the condition shown in the two preceding figures.
In this device, at least one endless conveyor belt 1 moves at constant speed in the direction of arrow 2 in FIG. 1 and passes under a rotating cylinder 3 located below the stop 4.
Between the stopper and the belt is reserved a slot of adjustable width, which can in particular be adjusted so as to allow the lower sheet of the stack to escape and be carried along.
On either side of the belt 1, or between the belts when there are several, there are lifting members in the form of levers 6, oscillating about an axis 7 placed in front of the stop relative to in the direction of movement of the transported sheets, and extending horizontally a certain amount behind the stopper, at a short distance under the face of the bottom sheet of the stack.
There will thus be at least one belt 1 and two levers 6, but generally a greater number, for example eight to ten belts and levers arranged between each of them.
For the simplicity of the description, there will be only one lever hereinafter, it being understood that, whatever their number, they are all similarly arranged.
At 8, the tail of lever 6 carries the articulation of a rod 9, the other end of which is in turn articulated to a two-part block 10, 11, which a screw 12 allows to tighten on a transverse beam 13.
This beam, of which fig. 2 represents approximately the left half with respect to FIG. 1 observed from the right, is supported in the vicinity of each of its ends by a lever 14, oscillating around a fixed point 15, opposite which it carries a roller 16. The two rollers, that is to say - say that of, the end of each of the levers 14, roll on cams 17, driven by a common shaft 18. These cams can also lift the assembly 14-13-11-10 against the action of res sorts return 19, arranged at both ends of the beam 13.
From the shape of the cams, it can be seen that there are two lifts per complete revolution, the shaft 18 having to turn, as will be seen, at a rate of half a turn per working cycle.
In the raised position of the members just described, the rod 9 will raise ii. in turn the lever 6 which, by tilting around its pivot axis 7 will rise, by construction, a little above the level of the belt 1, lifting the stack and thus breaking the contact of its lower sheet with the conveyor belt.
This will be the case simultaneously for all the levers such as 6 arranged on either side of a belt or between the belts of a series of the latter.
To adapt to any format of sheets and to a corresponding number of belts, the arrangement adopted offers the facility of being able to place levers such as 6 in the desired number on a common oscillation axis 7 and by tightening their means of fixing 10,
11 along the cross beam 13.
If, in the lowered position of the levers 6, the or, the belts naturally drive the lower sheet of the stack, it is obvious that they will no longer do so in the raised position of the levers. This provides a means of starting the leaves one by one, at will, by lowering or raising the levers 6.
This control, that is to say the rotation of the cams 17, will generally be placed under the control of the work of a machine supplied by the device, so as to create synchronism between this work and the distribution of the sheets of the stack. .
Once the sheet has been partially extracted from the stack, it is normally gripped by belts and conveyor rollers part of the aforementioned machine, not shown.
When the levers 6 are raised, they are no longer parallel to the direction of the belt (s) 1, but cross them.
Fig. 3 shows in detail the lowered position and FIG. 4 the raised position.
It is obvious that, a sheet of the stack being advanced until it is gripped by a machine, as indicated above, it is not necessary that the lifting of the levers 6 the clamp between the belt 1 and the stop 4. It must there remains a free passage 20 of invariable height between the stop 4, serving as a gauge, and .la or belts 1. This space can even be kept larger between levers 6 and stop 4, but must in no case be reduced. It will depend on the thickness of the sheets to be transported.
In order to be able to adjust very exactly said space remaining between levers 6 and stopper 4, sheets 5, placed on the upper strand of .la or belts.
The two ends of the common axis of oscillation 7 of the levers are wedged in eccentrics 21, rotating in an element 22 of the frame of the device and which locking screws 23 make it possible to immobilize in any working position.
