La fig. 1 en est une vue en plan montrant partiellement la machine à travailler, cer tains organes étant supprimés pour la clarté du dessin; La fig. 2 est une vue en élévation dudit mécanisme (côté opposé à la commande); La fig. 3 est une coupe suivant la-ligne a-a' fig. 1, montrant les taquets de mar- geage; La fig. 4 est une coupe suivant la ligne b-b' fi-. 1, montrant un frein à air et des organes de commande de la machine à fa çonner;
Mechanism for marginalizing and delivering sheets to rotary machines for processing paper, cardboard or other sheet materials. The invention relates to a mechanism for the marginalization and delivery of sheets to rotary machines for working paper, cardboard or other sheet materials.
It comprises, like other known mechanisms of this kind, movable margining members and a device for delivering the margined sheets to the machine which is to shape them, this device having rotary advancement members between which the sheet must pass. to arrive at the margining members, at least one of these rotating members being movable vertically with respect to the other.
It differs from it on the other hand in that it comprises members for periodically actuating the margeage members and the advanement members so as to separate the latter from one another to allow a sheet to arrive. against the first ones placed in the margeabe position and to stop the rotational movement of said advancement members, then to bring the latter so that the sheet is clamped between them during this stop, these advancement members then being actuated, after the margining elements have been removed from the path of the sheet,
so as to deliver the latter to the drive members of the working machine at a speed substantially equal to the circumferential speed of the latter.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof partially showing the working machine, certain parts being omitted for clarity of the drawing; Fig. 2 is an elevational view of said mechanism (side opposite to the control); Fig. 3 is a section taken along line a-a 'FIG. 1, showing the marker cleats; Fig. 4 is a section along the line b-b 'fi-. 1, showing an air brake and shaping machine controls;
Figs. 5, 6, 7 and 8 show the marginal cleats and the mechanism for delivering it in different working positions; The fi-. 9 shows a brake of the upper sheet feed roller, The wire. 10, a spider for blocking the delivery mechanism; The, fig. 11 is a detail of the air brake. The sheets to be delivered to the working machine are placed on a table 1 (fig. 3) against margeabe cleats 2 and a side cleat not shown. The sheets are placed by hand or automatically.
Each fork-shaped marbling cleat 2 is mounted on a slide 3. It can pivot on an axis 1: and be fixed in a position determined by nuts 5 and 6 of a rod 7 fixed on the slide 3. This der It slides vertically in a support 8. A spring 9 is arranged to produce an upward movement of the slider 3, a lever 10 keyed on a shaft 11 being designed to produce a downward movement of the slide. slide, i.e. cleat 2.
Bosses 12 of the support 8 are crossed by the shaft 11 and support a guide 13 serving as a support for the sheet 1.1.
The support 8 is movable laterally, it is retained on a spacer 15 by a strip smoothing in a groove 17 thereof. The spacer is fixed to the flanges 18 and 1.9 of the forming machine. During lateral displacement of the cleat, the key of the lever 10 slides in a groove 20 of the shaft 11, the lever being driven by the bosses 12 of the support 8.
The intermittent raising and lowering of the cleat 2 are produced by the shaft 11 rotating in the frames 18 and 19. One of the ends of this shaft carries a double lever -31 (end. 2), the lower part of which , under the action of the springs 9, constantly presses on a lever 22 pivoting on a journal 23 and carrying a roller 24 rolling on a cam 25 whose rotation produces a native alter movement of the lever 2-2 which transmits it to the shaft 11. Cams 25, 26 and 27 are keyed to the wheel 28 which turns idle on a spindle 29.
The wheel 28 receives its ritation movement from a control pulley 31 via a pinion 30 and a shaft 32 (Figs. 1 and 2).
A tree 33 mounts> fixes clan; the flanges 18 and 19 support the upper guides 34 key sheets 2. Each guide 34 can be raised or lowered depending on the thickness of the sheets. by means of nuts 85 and 36 holding it on a support 3 7 sliding on the shaft 3 3 (fig. 3 and 8).
By loosening a screw 38, we can d, "- Place each guide 31 sideways at the same time as the cleat? To keep the position represented by the fig. 8.
The lower roller 39 for the advancement of the sheets (fi--.?) Rotates in the flanges 18 and 19 and carries at one of its ends a pinion 40 actuated by a toothed sector 41 carried by an arm of a lever elbow rotating idle on a journal 42. This same arm carries a roller 43 rolling on the cam 27; the other arm is subjected to the action of a spring 44 which tends to keep the roller 43 in contact with the cam 27. The cam 27 actuated by the wheel 28 causes, through the sector 41. a key movement of periodic rotation of the roller 39.
A pinion 56 mounted on the roller 39 on the control side, meshes with a rack 5 7 sliding in support 58 fixed on the spacer 15 (fig. 1). The 1st rack 57 is connected to a piston 59 sliding in a cylinder 60 fixed to the frame of the shaping machine.
The lower part of the cylinder 60 is provided with a threaded valve (fi. 11) which is drilled in its middle with a hole 62 partially closed by a ball 63 held in position by a screw 64. The air passing through the opening left by the ball 63 can escape through a side hole 65. The. chamber 66 communicates. with the outside through the opening 6 7 and allows air to enter the cylinid) re during the lifting of the, valve 61.
The shaft 15 rotating freely in the connecting rods 46 and 47 and held in position by grooves 48 and 49 of the flanges 18 and 19, carries drive rollers 50 which come into contact with the roller 39. The drive rollers 50 are assembled by a sleeve sliding on the shaft 15; the groove 51 between the rollers allows a support 37 to drag the rollers so that they follow the lateral displacement of the cleat 2 and of the guide 34 (FIG. 1).
The cam 26 via a roller 52 of the levers 53 and 54 connected by a shaft 55, causes a periodic raising and lowering movement of the shaft 45 via the connecting rods 46 and 47 (fig. . 2).
A belt 68 fixed at one end to the spacer 15 (fig. 9) passes over the shaft 45, the other end being provided with a tensioner 69 passing through a stud 70 fixed to the flange 18. The tension is adjusted to that the shaft 45 is braked when it is in its raised position and left free in its lowered position.
The rollers, drivers 71 and 72 of the shaping machine rotate continuously in the same direction while the machine is running; the lower roller 71 carries at one end a pinion 73 meshing with an intermediate wheel 74 actuated by the gear 75 of the cylinder 5. Shaping 76. This latter receives its rotational movement by the gear 77 mounted on the shaft 32 (fig. 4).
The upper roller 72 is driven by simple friction with the roller 71. The spurts of the roller 73 triaverse the flanges 18 and 19 by two notches 78 and 79 and can be lifted by hooks 80 and 81 pivot on both the journals 82 and 83 By opening the hooks 80 and 81, the roller 72- is lifted and put out of contact with the roller 71.
Free rotating on the frame 18 is mounted a spider 84 with two arms 85 and 86 and controlled by the button 87 (fig. 2 and 10). The nose 88 of the lever 21 actuating the shaft 11 comes into contact with the arm 85 of the spider, while the nose 89 of the connecting rod 46 comes into contact with the arm 86 of the spider. The arms 85 and 86 being 90 relative to each other, or. can by turning the button 87 of 90 put the arm 85 in a horizontal position which prevents the return of the lever 21, ie. lifting of the cleats 2, while the arm 86 placed in a vertical position prevents the descent of the connecting rods 46 and 47 or the descent of the shaft 45.
The operation is as follows: The sheet 14 (fig. 3) placed on the table 1 is brought against the front cleats 2 and a side cleat not shown in the drawing. The installation of the sheet can be done either by hand or using an automatic feeder. The front cleats 2 are generally two in number; however a larger number can be used. Lateral movement along the spacer allows them to be placed at the appropriate distance depending on the size of the sheets. The movement of the stopper 2 made possible by the nuts 5 and 6 allows the sheets to be introduced parallel to the rollers or slightly at an angle in one direction or the other.
The upper guide 34 is moved at the same time as the stopper 2 to maintain the position FIG. 8. The movement of the guide 34 or its support 37 also causes the movement of the drive rollers 50 so that they always work in front of the cleat 2. The groove 51 between the rollers allows the guide 34 to lower the sheets. having a tendency to lift and lead them exactly to the stopper 2, the space between guides 1.3 and 34 being only slightly greater than the thickness of the sheet, the edge of the latter cannot turn around or escape at the top or below.
Once the sheet has been placed in position against the cleats 2, the shaft 45 under the action of the cam 26 descends until the rollers 50 press the sheet onto the roller 39 which at this moment is stationary, the roller 43 of the sector 41 rolling at this moment on a part concentric to the axis of the cam 27. The position obtained is shown by the fis. 5.
As soon as the sheet is pressed between the two rollers, the roller 43 appears in front of a slight recess in the cam 27, which produces a very slight backward movement of the sheet 14 while the tabs 2 are lowered under the action. levers 10 controlled by the shaft 11, the lever 21 being raised under the action of the roller 21 rising on a nose of the cam 25 (fig6).
When the cleats? are completely lowered, the cam 27 acts on the sector 1-1 and causes a rotational movement of the roller 39 or the advancement of the sheet II. The advance starting from zero is accelerated gradually to reach, when the sheet enters between the rollers 71 and 72, substantially the circumferential speed of the latter.
This speed is obtained a few moments before the. sheet penetrates between the rollers 71 and 72 and maintained a few moments later so that no slippage occurs. As soon as the sheet is taken by the rollers 71 and 72, the rollers 50 are raised, the sheet continues its way through it. shaping machine by eles drive; rollers (1. and (2 (11g. ().
The force of inertia acquired by the accelerated rotation of roller 39 is. absorbed by the air brake (fi. 1); as and when chi roll rotation 39, piston 59 compresses air dan; the cylinder 60 which at the end of the stroke completely absorbs the inertial force.
The efficiency of the brake can be reduced by more or less blocking, by means of the ball 63, the passage of air through the channel 62 of the valve 61.
The return cln roller 39 in its first position is carried out slowly under the action of the spring d-1 (fig. 2). In order not to create a resistance, the vacuum produced by the rise of the piston 59 raises the valve 61 which allows air to enter the cylinder 60. When the roller 39 is turned around, the sheet 1d slides on the latter, the contact being removed by the elevation of the rollers 50 (Fig. 7).
During the feed of the sheet 1-1 :, the rollers 50 and the shaft 1 5 had acquired a speed of rotation corresponding to the speed of advance of the sheet. Immobilization (the rollers 50 in their upper position is effected by the belt 68 (fig. 9). The tension is adjusted so that the rollers are immobile when they clamp the new sheet on the roller 39 The lowering of the shaft 45 cl @ t-'ctcild the belt which allows the shaft and the rollers to rotate freely as the sheet advances.
After passing the end of the sheet, the tabs? are raised under the action of the springs 9 for the establishment of a iionvelle sheet.
It is useful in some; case of being able to introduce a sheet into the paving machine without using the cleat mechanism \? and of the advancement roller 39. In turning: button 8 7 (the 9C0, the arm 85 blocks the lever 21 and prevents lifting (the cleats?, in addition, the nose 89 of the connecting rod -16 cannot more deseeïidre, the arm 86 being placed vertically, which prevents the cente of the rollers 50 on the roller 39.
This maneuvers empty; the space between the guides 13 and 31 is consta.mniei@t free, which allows the sheets to be introduced effectively into the rollers 71. el - (2 driven continuously by the shaping machine.
By turning 90 again, button 8 7 you start the movement of the ta quets? and the descent of the pebbles 50.
For the realignment of the shaping machine, it is possible to slide a sheet under the shaping devices, this during the stop (the machine, by turning the button 87 to 90 to stop the stops and d @ .s rollers 50 and raising the roller 7 2 by hooks 80 and 81.
The 71cl: 72 drive rollers could be omitted, to allow the sheets to be delivered directly to the shaping machine drive sockets.
