Abstract

A sealing tape (10) for connecting to the wall of sanitary articles (1) comprises a carrier (11a, 11b), with adhesives (15, 16) being applied at least in some areas to a front and a rear side of the carrier (11a, 11b) and a reinforcing layer (12). The carrier comprises at least two flat layers (11a, 11b), and the reinforcement layer (12) is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers (11a, 11b). The sealing tape (10) further comprises a flat soundproofing element (13) which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers (11a, 11b). Due to its arrangement embedded in the carrier (11a, 11b), the soundproofing element (13) is protected from external influences, in particular during assembly. Because the outer shape of the sealing tape (10) is essentially determined by the carrier (11a, 11b), the outer surfaces do not have any abrupt transitions that could make assembly more difficult.

Technical area

The invention relates to a sealing tape for the wall connection in sanitary articles, comprising a carrier, wherein on a front and a back of the carrier at least partially adhesive are applied, and a reinforcing layer, wherein the carrier comprises at least two flat layers and the reinforcing layer between two of the at least two flat layers is embedded.

State of the art

Various sanitary articles such. B. Showers or bathtubs are often installed directly adjacent to one or more room walls. In such cases it is important to ensure a moisture-tight and long-lasting seal between the article and the room wall or walls to prevent damage from moisture, e.g. B. Mold formation to avoid. The same applies to a floor-level installation of sanitary articles such. B. shower trays. Various sealing tapes are known for producing such a seal, the back of which can be glued to the wall and the front of which can be glued to the sanitary article. Often the sealing tapes are already provided with the necessary adhesive surfaces.

The FR 2 914 548 A1 (LAZER Société à responsabilité limitée) discloses, for example, a self-adhesive double-sided sealing tape for the wall connection with sanitary articles such. B. showers or bathtubs, lavabos, etc. This sealing tape comprises a carrier with two layers of a soft material, for. B. based on acrylic or butyl, which are glued together and a reinforcing layer, for. B. a fabric or a net-like material surrounded. The reinforcement layer improves the mechanical properties of the sealing tape and prevents excessive stretching. It can be reinforced with glass fibers, for example. A fleece is also arranged in areas on the front and back of the carrier in order to support the bonding with the wall or with tiles.

In addition to the sealing function, such sealing tapes often also have a sound-absorbing function: the sanitary article should be mechanically decoupled from the room wall or from the room walls so that vibrations are not transmitted from the article to the wall or walls. It is known for this purpose to arrange strips of sound-absorbing material between the article and the sealing tape or between the sealing tape and the wall.

Sound insulation strips have a certain thickness, they can therefore form steps in known sealing tapes and lead to difficulties during assembly. There is also a risk that the sound insulation strips will be damaged or torn from the sealing tape during the assembly process.

Presentation of the invention

The object of the invention is to create a sealing tape belonging to the technical field mentioned at the beginning, which enables simple and safe assembly.

The solution to the problem is defined by the features of claim 1. According to the invention, the sealing tape comprises a flat soundproofing element which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers.

The carrier in the sense of the invention is a flat structure which is decisive for the geometric dimensions of the sealing tape, that is, has a certain mechanical stability and can absorb tensile forces, and which also has a certain mechanical protective function. This applies individually to both or the three or more layers of the carrier.

Both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are therefore embedded between layers of the carrier; this means that their main surfaces are completely covered from the outside by the carrier. They are thus protected from external influences during assembly and held in the correct position within the carrier. In this context it is advantageous if the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are glued to the surrounding layers of the carrier over a large area, preferably over the entire area.

The reinforcement layer serves to mechanically reinforce the sealing tape. It can - depending on the material of the carrier - prevent excessive stretching of the tape and protect the tape from damage by external influences, such as those caused by B. occur when scraping out silicone using spatulas or screwdrivers.

The structure of the sealing tape is advantageously the same over its entire length. The required length depends on the dimensions of the sanitary article and the installation situation. Typically lengths of up to approx. 6 m are required. The sealing tape is expediently provided in a length sufficient for the usual situations and cut to length at the installation site. The sealing tape as a whole can therefore advantageously be cut, on the one hand so that it can be cut to length if necessary, and on the other hand so that it can be cut in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the tape in certain installation situations, so that sections bent at 90 ° into the horizontal are formed become.

The adhesives on the front and back are in particular layers of adhesive, so that the tape can easily be glued to a connection surface on the respective side - if necessary after removing a cover film. The adhesive, namely the one on the back, can also be applied immediately before use. In this case, the corresponding surface of the sealing tape is advantageously provided with an adhesion-promoting structure as part of the adhesive, e.g. B. with a fleece.

Because of its arrangement embedded in the carrier, the soundproofing element is protected from external influences, in particular during assembly. Because the outer shape of the sealing tape is essentially determined by the carrier, the outer surfaces do not have any abrupt transitions that could make assembly more difficult.

In a preferred embodiment, a first of the flat layers extends only partially over a width of the sealing tape, in particular over less than 75% of the width of the sealing tape. In this way, the material consumption can be minimized and / or the geometry of the sealing tape can be optimized. In particular, not all layers of the carrier also have to extend into regions where the mechanical loads are comparatively low. However, the layers are dimensioned in such a way that both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are completely embedded in the carrier.

In another embodiment, all of the flat layers of the carrier extend over the entire width of the sealing tape.

In a preferred embodiment, the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are arranged to overlap in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape. This means that there is an area of the sealing tape in cross section in which both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element extend. Different types of overlap are possible, namely the following: a) stepwise overlap: both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element each extend in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the tape over the respective other element; b) complete coverage of the reinforcement layer by the soundproofing element; c) complete coverage of the soundproofing element by the reinforcement layer.

Since a soundproofing element must have a certain thickness so that it can perform its decoupling function, its width is usually limited to that area of the sealing tape in which the decoupling between the sanitary article and the room wall must take place. The reinforcement layer can be made significantly thinner, so it contributes less to the external shape of the sealing tape. On the other hand, harmful mechanical influences are not to be expected where the sanitary article (in particular a circumferential edge of the same) contacts the room wall. Thus, as a rule, a stepwise overlap according to variant a) is preferred; in particular, the reinforcement layer extends upwards in the assembled state over the upper edge of the article, so that a joint area is protected, while a lower section of the soundproofing element does not have to be covered by the reinforcement layer.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are arranged in the carrier such that the following areas are successively formed in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape: a) a first area with a first of the flat layers of the carrier but without a second of the flat layers of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer and without a soundproofing element; b) a second area with the first of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier and the second of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer and without a soundproofing element; c) a third area with the first and the second layer of the carrier and with a reinforcing layer, without a soundproofing element; d) a fourth area with the first and second layer of the carrier, with a reinforcement layer and with a soundproofing element; e) a fifth area with the first and second layer of the carrier, with a soundproofing element, without a reinforcement layer.

In addition to the layers mentioned, further layers or elements can be present which are arranged over the whole or part of the area on the rear side and / or front side of the layer sequence mentioned. In addition, further areas with different layer sequences can adjoin the first area and / or the fifth area.

In the assembled state of the sealing tape, the fourth and fifth area are in the area of the sanitary article that contacts the room wall (via the sealing tape), in particular at a tub edge, and decouples it from the room wall. The third area extends upwards into the area of a sealing joint. The first to third area is also usually covered by a wall covering, e.g. B. a tile covering covered.

In alternative embodiments, other sequences are possible.

In a first group of preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises exactly two flat layers. The sealing tape is the easiest and thinnest to manufacture with just two layers, and the risk of delamination is minimized.

In a second group of preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises at least three flat layers. This enables a more specific adaptation of the layer sequence to the mechanical requirements of the various areas.

The reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element can be embedded between the same two of the at least three flat layers. Production is simple. This arrangement should also be selected if one of the layers of the carrier does not extend into the area of the reinforcement layer and / or the soundproofing element at all.

The reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element can also be arranged at different points in the layer sequence, d. H. At least one of the at least three layers is arranged between the reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element. This enables a more flexible alignment to the desired mechanical properties and, if necessary, better compensation of different layer thicknesses in the course transverse to the longitudinal direction of the strip.

The reinforcing layer is advantageously formed by a fabric or mesh-like material. Such a fabric can be made by introducing reinforcing fibers, e.g. B. glass fibers, aramid fibers or carbon fibers, with a high resistance and at the same time high flexibility. By choosing a suitable material, it can be ensured that the reinforcing layer - like the entire sealing tape - can be cut, namely in order to enable it to be cut to length or to enable cuts that partially run vertically through the sealing tape. Such cuts may be necessary so that the sealing tape can be folded over to the outside in areas if necessary, e.g. B. when installing shower trays flush with the floor.

A fleece is advantageously applied to an outside of the carrier. The fleece is used in particular to improve the adhesive properties of the outside of the tape. It improves e.g. B. the adhesion of tile adhesive. With this function, it is arranged in particular on the front side of the belt which faces the sanitary article. As already mentioned, however, the adhesive on the reverse side of the tape can also comprise a fleece.

The flat soundproofing element is advantageously formed from a foam material. Such materials are available inexpensively and have good soundproofing properties.

FIGS. 1A-C are views of a first embodiment of a sealing tape 10 according to the invention: In FIG. 1A, the individual elements are shown in an exploded view, ie. The sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment comprises a carrier which is formed by a first, rear carrier layer 11a and a second, front carrier layer 11b. The first carrier layer 11a has a somewhat greater thickness than the second carrier layer 11b (see also the following table) and extends over the entire height of the sealing tape 10, while the second carrier layer 11b is only present in the lower part of the carrier 10. The two carrier layers 11a, 11b include a reinforcement layer 12 and a soundproofing element 13 and are glued to one another above and below the reinforcing layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13. Bonding is also provided on both sides with the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13. The enclosed elements are arranged in an overlapping manner, with the reinforcement layer 12 extending above the soundproofing element 13 and the soundproofing element 13 extending beyond the reinforcing layer 12 at the bottom.

The first carrier layer 11a is provided with a rear adhesive layer 15 on its rear side in an upper region. This is covered by a cover film 17 before assembly. The carrier layers 11a, 11b are made of a foamed polyethylene material. This has great elasticity in a direction transverse to the main surface and can therefore be compressed during assembly between the sanitary article and the wall, so that the sealing tape 10 adapts to the installation situation. The reinforcement layer 12 is a fabric made of polyamide and aramid. The soundproofing element 13 is formed by a foam strip, the fleece 14 by fiber polyester felt (polyester-polyamide). The cover films 17, 18 are films made of polyethylene. The back adhesive layer 15 is formed by a layer of waterproof rubber adhesive. The front adhesive layer 16 is a butyl layer. The individual elements of the sealing tape 10 are also connected to one another by a waterproof rubber adhesive (not shown).

FIG. 3 shows the structure of the sealing tape 20 according to a second embodiment. Further embodiments are possible in which features of the first to sixth embodiments are combined in different ways. So is z. B. the sequence of layers i. W. can be changed independently of the width of the layers.

FIG. 8 shows the application of the sealing tape according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub edge to a room wall. As in FIG. 1B, the layer thicknesses of the elements of the sealing tape 10 are also increased here for the sake of clarity. To install the sanitary article, namely the tub 1, the cover film on the front is first removed and the sealing tape with the front adhesive layer 16 is stuck to the outer circumferential tub rim. When glued on, it is continuously pressed onto the edge of the bathtub so that a moisture-proof connection is created.

After any further work, the rear cover film 67 is also removed and the tub 1 is pushed against the wall 2 at its destination. As a result, the rear side of the sealing tape 10 is glued to the wall 2 via the rear layer of adhesive 15. The front side of the sealing tape 10 is now in an area above the tub 1 (and further in an area of the wall 2 adjoining the sealing tape 10 at the top). a tile adhesive 6 is applied, then tiles 5 are applied to the wall in a manner known per se. The sealing tape 10 is correspondingly covered in its upper area by the tiles 5 and in its lower area by the tub 1. A gap between the bottom row of tiles 5 and the edge of the tub is finally grouted, for example by drawing a silicone joint 7 in the gap.

During the entire assembly process, the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and are thus protected from damage. The smooth transitions on the outside of the sealing tape 10 also result in simple assembly. In the assembled state, the space between tub 1 and wall 2 is reliably protected from moisture penetration due to the front adhesive layer 16 made of butyl and the silicone joint 7. The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between tub 1 and wall 2. Due to the tile adhesive 6 and the upper part of the sealing tape 10, moisture penetration between the tiles 5 and the wall 2 is also prevented .

FIG. 9 shows the application of the sealing tape according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub edge from a surrounding floor surface. In particular, shower trays 1 'are now often to be installed flush with the floor; H. so that an upper edge of the edge of the shower tray lies in the plane of the surrounding floor. With the aid of the same sealing tape 10 according to the invention, it is possible to mount a tub rim on a wall as well as on the surrounding floor flush with the floor. As a rule, some sides of the shower tray 1 'will directly adjoin the wall, while other sides merge into the surrounding floor.

In order to now install the shower tray 1 'flush with the floor, the cover film located on the front is first removed and the sealing tape 10 with the front adhesive layer 16 is stuck to the outer circumferential tub rim and pressed firmly. In the corners at the transitions between wall and floor, the upper part of the sealing tape 10 is now cut through vertically to the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13, e.g. B. with a standard knife. In the context of the sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment, the fleece 14 and partially the first carrier layer 11a, the second carrier layer 11b and the reinforcement layer 12 are severed. If necessary, corner elements known per se can now be arranged in the corners.

The upper part of the sealing tape 10 (up to approximately the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13) is now folded over 90 ° from the edge of the shower tray 1 'to the outside so that it rests on an underlay 3 (or screed). After the rear cover film has been peeled off, the sealing tape 10 can now be glued onto the floor with its rear side via the rear adhesive layer 15. Folding it over is not a problem because the sealing tape 10 above the soundproofing element 13 is very flexible. In the case of the sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment, the 90 ° bend ultimately takes place in a section in which the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and the reinforcement layer 12 run.

Here, too, a tile adhesive 6 'is applied to the (folded) front of the sealing tape 10 in the horizontal area (and further in a horizontally outside area of the underlay 3 adjoining the sealing tape 10), and tiles 5' are then applied known way. The sealing tape 10 is correspondingly covered in its horizontal section by the tiles 5 'and in its vertical section by the shower tray 1'. A gap between the innermost row of tiles 5 'and the edge of the tub is finally grouted, for example by drawing a silicone joint 7' in the gap.

Here, too, the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b during the entire assembly process and are thus protected from damage. The smooth transitions on the outside of the sealing tape 10 also result in simple assembly. In the assembled state, the space between the tub 1 and the base 3 is reliably protected against the ingress of moisture due to the front adhesive layer 16 made of butyl and the silicone joint 7. The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between the shower tray 1 'and the floor. Due to the tile adhesive 6 'and the upper part of the sealing tape 10, penetration of moisture between the tiles 5' and the sub-floor 3 is also prevented.

With regard to the representations according to FIGS. 8 and 9, it should be noted that in reality the sealing tape is significantly thinner in comparison with the surrounding structures. In the transition area, for example, the layer of tile adhesive dominates. This means that the gaps are not formed as they might appear from the illustrations.

In summary, it can be stated that the invention creates a sealing tape for the wall connection in sanitary articles, which allows simple and safe assembly.

Sealing tape according to claim 2 and claim 3, characterized in that the reinforcement layer (12) and the soundproofing element (13) are arranged in the carrier in such a way that the following areas are formed one after the other in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape (10): a) a first area with a first of the flat layers (11a) of the carrier but without a second of the flat layers (11b) of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer (12) and without a soundproofing element (13); b) a second area with the first of the flat layers (1 1a) of the carrier and the second of the flat layers (11b) of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer (12) and without a soundproofing element (13); c) a third area with the first and the second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b) and with a reinforcing layer (12), without a soundproofing element (13); d) a fourth area with the first and second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b), with a reinforcement layer (12) and with a soundproofing element (13); e) a fifth area with the first and second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b), with a soundproofing element (13), without a reinforcement layer (12). 5. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises exactly two flat layers (11a, 11b). 6. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises at least three flat layers. 7. Sealing tape according to claim 6, characterized in that the reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element are embedded between the same two of the at least three flat layers. 8. Sealing tape according to claim 6, characterized in that at least one of the at least three layers is arranged between the reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element. 9. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the reinforcing layer (12) is formed by a fabric or net-like material. 10. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a fleece (14) is applied to an outside of the carrier. 11. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the flat soundproofing element (13) is formed from a foam material.
