Abstract

A sealing tape (10) for the wall connection in sanitary articles (1) comprises a carrier (11a, 11b), wherein on a front and a back of the carrier (11a, 11b) at least partially adhesive (15, 16) are applied and a reinforcing layer (12). PRIOR ART Various sanitary articles such as e.g. Shower or bathtubs are often installed directly adjacent to one or more room walls. In such cases, it is important to ensure a moisture-proof and durable seal between the article and the room wall (s) to prevent damage from moisture, e.g. Mold growth, to avoid. For example, FR 2 914 548 A1 (LAZER Société à responsabilité limitée) discloses a self-adhesive two-sided sealing tape for wall connection in sanitary articles such as e.g. Shower or bath tubs, lavabo's etc. This sealing tape comprises a support with two layers of a soft material, e.g. based on acrylic or butyl, which are glued together and a reinforcing layer, e.g. a woven or net-like material surrounded. The reinforcing layer improves the mechanical properties of the sealing strip and prevents excessive stretching. It may be reinforced with glass fibers, for example. On the front and the back of the carrier area also each a fleece is arranged to support the bonding with the wall or with tiles.

In addition to the sealing function such sealing tapes often have a sound-absorbing function: The sanitary article should be mechanically decoupled from the room wall or from the room walls, so that vibrations are not transmitted from the article to the wall or the walls. It is known to arrange for this purpose strips of sound-absorbing material between the article and the sealing tape or between the sealing tape and the wall.

Acoustic strips have a certain thickness, they can therefore form in known sealing tapes stages and lead to difficulties during assembly. There is also a risk that the sound insulation strips damaged during assembly or demolished from the sealing strip.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to provide a sealing band belonging to the technical field mentioned at the outset, which permits a simple and secure assembly.

The solution of the problem is defined by the features of claim 1. According to the invention, the sealing tape comprises a planar soundproofing element, which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers.

The carrier in the context of the invention is a flat structure, which is determinative of the geometric dimensions of the sealing strip, that has a certain mechanical stability and can absorb tensile forces, and also has a certain mechanical protection function. This applies individually to both or the three or more layers of the carrier.

Both the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are thus embedded between layers of the carrier; this means that their main surfaces are completely covered outwards by the wearer. They are thus protected during assembly from external influences and kept within the carrier in the correct position. In this context, it is advantageous if the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are glued over a large area, preferably over the whole area, to the surrounding layers of the carrier.

The reinforcing layer serves for mechanical reinforcement of the sealing strip. It can - depending on the material of the carrier - prevent excessive stretching of the band and protect the band from damage by external influences, as it is e.g. When scratching out silicone by means of spatulas or screwdrivers occur.

The construction of the sealing strip is advantageously the same over its entire length. The required length depends on the dimensions of the sanitary article and the installation situation. Typically, lengths of up to approx. 6 m are required. The sealing tape is expediently provided in a sufficient length for the usual situations and cut to length at the installation site. The sealing tape as a whole is therefore cut with advantage, on the one hand so that it can be cut to length, on the other hand so that it can be cut in certain installation situations in a direction transverse to the tape longitudinal direction, so that bent by 90 ° in the horizontal portions ,

The adhesives on the front and the back are in particular adhesive layers, so that the band easily - may be glued on the respective side with an on-circuit surface - optionally after the removal of a cover. The adhesive, namely the one on the back, but can also be applied only immediately before use. In this case, the corresponding surface of the sealing tape is advantageously provided with an adhesion-promoting structure as part of the adhesive, e.g. with a fleece.

Due to its embedded in the carrier arrangement, the soundproofing element is protected against external influences, especially during assembly. Because the outer shape of the sealing tape is essentially determined by the carrier, the outer surfaces have no abrupt transitions, which could complicate the assembly.

In a preferred embodiment, a first of the laminar layers extends only partially over a width of the sealing strip, in particular over less than 75% of the width of the sealing strip. This minimizes material consumption and / or optimizes the geometry of the sealing strip. In particular, not all layers of the support must extend to regions where the mechanical stresses are comparatively low. However, the layers are dimensioned so that both the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are completely embedded in the carrier.

In another embodiment, all planar layers of the carrier extend over the entire width of the sealing strip.

In a preferred embodiment, the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are arranged overlapping in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip. This means that in cross-section, a region of the sealing tape exists in which extend both the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element. Various types of overlapping are possible, namely the following: a) gradual overlap: both the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element each extend in a direction transverse to the strip longitudinal direction beyond the other element; b) complete coverage of the reinforcing layer by the soundproofing element; c) complete coverage of the soundproofing element by the reinforcing layer.

Since a soundproofing element must have a certain thickness so that it can perform its decoupling function, its width is usually limited to that area of the sealing strip in which the decoupling between the sanitary article and the room wall must be made. The reinforcing layer can be made significantly thinner, so contributes less to the outer shape of the sealing tape. On the other hand, harmful mechanical influences where the sanitary article (in particular a peripheral edge thereof) contacts the room wall are not to be expected. Thus, a stepwise overlap according to variant a) is generally preferred; Namely, the reinforcing layer extends in the mounted state over the upper edge of the article upwards, so that a joint area is protected, while a lower portion of the soundproofing element does not have to be covered by the reinforcing layer.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are arranged in the carrier, that in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip successively the following areas are formed: a) a first area with a first of the planar layers of the carrier but without a second of the laminar layers of the carrier, without reinforcing layer and without soundproofing element; b) a second region with the first of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier and the second of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier, without reinforcing layer and without soundproofing element; c) a third region comprising the first and second layers of the carrier and reinforcing layer, without soundproofing element; d) a fourth region comprising the first and second layers of the carrier, with reinforcing layer and with soundproofing element; e) a fifth region with the first and second layers of the carrier, with soundproofing element, without reinforcing layer.

In addition to the layers mentioned further layers or elements may be present, which are arranged on the back and / or front side of said layer sequence over the whole or part of the area. In addition to the first area and / or to the fifth area, further areas with different layers can follow.

In the assembled state of the sealing strip are the fourth and fifth area in which the room wall (via the sealing tape) contacting area of the sanitary article, especially at a tub edge, and decoupled from the room wall. In a first group of preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises exactly two laminar layers. With only two layers, the sealing tape can be produced easiest and thinnest, minimizing the risk of delamination.

In a second group of preferred embodiments, the support comprises at least three laminar layers. This allows a more specific adaptation of the layer sequence to the mechanical requirements of the different areas.

The reinforcing layer and the planar soundproofing element can be embedded between the same two of the at least three laminar layers. This results in a simple production. This arrangement should also be chosen when one of the layers of the carrier does not extend at all into the region of the reinforcing layer and / or the soundproofing element.

However, the reinforcing layer and the planar soundproofing element can also be arranged at different positions in the layer sequence, i. between the reinforcing layer and the planar soundproofing element, at least one of the at least three layers is arranged. This allows a more flexible alignment to the desired mechanical properties and optionally a better compensation of different layer thicknesses in the transverse direction to the belt longitudinal direction.

Advantageously, the reinforcing layer is formed by a woven or net-like material. Such a fabric can be made by incorporating reinforcing fibers, e.g. Glass fibers, aramid fibers or carbon fibers, with a high resistance and at the same time high flexibility. By suitable choice of material can be ensured that the reinforcing layer - as the entire sealing strip - can be cut, namely to allow for cutting or vertical to allow partially through the sealing strip cuts. Such cuts may be necessary to allow the sealing tape to be partially folded outwards as needed, e.g. for floor-level installation of shower trays.

Advantageously, a nonwoven is applied to an outside of the carrier. The fleece serves in particular to improve the adhesion properties of the outside of the tape. It improves e.g. the adhesion of tile adhesive. With this function, it is in particular on the band front side, which faces the sanitary article arranged. As already mentioned, however, the adhesives on the back of the tape can also comprise a nonwoven.

Advantageously, the planar soundproofing element is formed from a foam material. Such materials are available at low cost and have good soundproofing properties.

The sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment comprises a carrier, which is formed by a first, rear carrier layer 11a and a second, front carrier layer 11b. The first carrier layer 11a has a somewhat greater thickness than the second carrier layer 11b (see also the following table) and extends over the entire height of the sealing strip 10, while the second carrier layer 11b is present only in the lower part of the carrier 10. The two carrier layers 11a, 11b enclose a reinforcing layer 12 and a soundproofing element 13 and are glued together above and below the reinforcing layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13. An adhesive bond is also provided on both sides with the reinforcing layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13. The enclosed elements are arranged in an overlapping manner, with the reinforcing layer 12 extending above the soundproofing element 13 and the soundproofing element 13 at the bottom above the reinforcing layer 12.

This has a large elasticity in a direction transverse to the main surface and can therefore be compressed when needed between the sanitary article and the wall if necessary, so that the sealing tape 10 adapts to the installation situation. Fig. 8 shows the attachment of the sealing strip according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub rim to a room wall. During the entire assembly process, the reinforcing layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and thus protected from damage. Due to the flowing transitions on the outside of the sealing strip 10 also results in a simple installation. In the assembled state, the space between the tub 1 and wall 2 is reliably protected against the ingress of moisture due to the front adhesive layer 16 made of butyl and the silicone joint 7. The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between the tub 1 and wall 2. Due to the tile adhesive 6 and the upper part of the sealing strip 10, moisture penetration between the tiles 5 and the wall 2 is prevented ,

Fig. 9 shows the attachment of the sealing strip according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub rim to a surrounding bottom surface. In particular, shower trays 1 'are today often to be installed flush with the floor, i. such that an upper edge of the edge of the shower tray lies in the plane of the surrounding floor. By means of the same sealing tape 10 according to the invention, it is possible to realize both a mounting of a rim of a bath on a wall and a floor level on the surrounding floor. In order to mount the shower tray 1 'flush with the floor, the covering film located on the front side is first removed and the sealing tape 10 with the front adhesive layer 16 glued to the outer peripheral edge of the tub and pressed firmly. In the corners at the transitions between the wall and the floor, the upper part of the sealing strip 10 is now cut vertically to the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13, e.g. with a standard knife. As part of the sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment, the nonwoven 14 as well as partially the first carrier layer 11a, the second carrier layer 11b and the reinforcing layer 12 are severed. In the corners can now be arranged as needed per se corner elements.

The upper part of the sealing strip 10 (to about the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13) is now folded by 90 ° from the edge of the shower tray 1 'to the outside, so that it rests on a base 3 (or screed). After removing the rear cover film, the sealing tape 10 can now be glued with its back over the rear adhesive layer 15 to the floor. The folding is not a problem, because the sealing tape 10 above the soundproofing element 13 is very flexible. In the case of the sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment, the bend by 90 ° ultimately takes place in a section in which the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and the reinforcing layer 12 run.

Again, now on the (folded) front of the sealing strip 10 in the horizontal area (and further in a horizontal outside of the sealing strip 10 subsequent area of the underlay floor 3) a tile adhesive 6 'is applied, then tiles are 5' in per se well-known way. The sealing strip 10 is covered accordingly in its horizontal portion of the tiles 5 'and in its vertical portion of the shower tray 1'. Again, the reinforcing layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed during the entire assembly process between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and thus protected from damage. Due to the flowing transitions on the outside of the sealing strip 10 also results in a simple installation. In the assembled state, the gap between the tub 1 and base 3 is due to the front adhesive layer 16 of butyl and the silicone joint 7 reliably protected against the ingress of moisture. The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between the shower tray 1 'and the floor. Due to the tile adhesive 6 'and the upper part of the sealing strip 10 and an ingress of moisture between the tiles 5' and the base 3 is prevented.

With reference to the illustrations according to FIGS. 8 and 9, it should be noted that in reality the sealing tape is significantly thinner in comparison with the surrounding structures. In the transition area, for example, the layer of tile adhesive dominates. So not such gaps are formed, as it may appear due to the representations.

In summary, it should be noted that the invention provides a sealing tape for the wall connection in sanitary articles, which allows a simple and secure installation.

Sealing strip according to claim 2 and claim 3, characterized in that the reinforcing layer (12) and the soundproofing element (13) are arranged in such a way that in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip (10) successively the following areas are formed: a ) a first area with a first of the planar layers (11 a) of the carrier but without a second of the planar layers (11b) of the carrier, without reinforcing layer (12) and without soundproofing element (13); b) a second region comprising the first of the laminar layers (11a) of the carrier and the second of the laminar layers (11b) of the carrier, without reinforcing layer (12) and without soundproofing element (13); c) a third region comprising the first and second layers of the carrier (11a, 11b) and reinforcing layer (12), without soundproofing element (13); d) a fourth region comprising the first and second layers of the carrier (11a, 11b), reinforcing layer (12) and soundproofing element (13); e) a fifth region with the first and second layers of the carrier (11a, 11b), with soundproofing element (13), without reinforcing layer (12). 5. Sealing strip according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises exactly two planar layers (11a, 11b). 6. Sealing strip according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises at least three planar layers. 7. Sealing strip according to claim 6, characterized in that the reinforcing layer and the planar soundproofing element between the same two of the at least three flat layers is embedded. 8. Sealing strip according to claim 6, characterized in that between the reinforcing layer and the planar soundproofing element at least one of the at least three layers is arranged. 9. Sealing strip according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the reinforcing layer (12) is formed by a woven or net-like material. 10. Sealing strip according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a fleece (14) is applied to an outer side of the carrier. 11. Sealing strip according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the planar soundproofing element (13) is formed of a foam material.
