Abstract

A sealing tape (10) for the wall connection of sanitary articles (1) comprises a carrier (11a, 11b), with adhesives (15, 16) being applied at least in regions on a front side and a rear side of the carrier (11a, 11b) and a reinforcing layer (12). The carrier comprises at least two planar layers (11a, 11b), and the reinforcement layer (12) is embedded between two of the at least two planar layers (11a, 11b). The sealing strip (10) further comprises a flat soundproofing element (13) which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers (11a, 11b). Due to its arrangement embedded in the carrier (11a, 11b), the soundproofing element (13) is protected from external influences, in particular during assembly. Because the outer shape of the sealing strip (10) is essentially determined by the carrier (11a, 11b), the outer surfaces do not have any abrupt transitions that could make assembly difficult.

TECHNICAL AREA

The invention relates to a sealing tape for the wall connection of sanitary articles, comprising a carrier, with adhesives being applied at least in regions on a front side and a rear side of the carrier, and a reinforcement layer, with the carrier comprising at least two flat layers and the reinforcement layer between two of the at least two flat layers is embedded.

STATE OF THE ART

Various sanitary items such. B. showers or bathtubs are often installed directly adjacent to one or more room walls. In such cases, it is important to ensure a moisture-tight and durable seal between the article and the room wall(s) to prevent moisture damage, e.g. B. mold formation to avoid. The same applies to a floor-level installation of sanitary items such. B. shower trays. Various sealing tapes are known for producing such a seal, the back of which can be glued to the wall and the front of which can be glued to the sanitary article. The sealing tapes are often already provided with the necessary adhesive surfaces.

[0003] CH 703 691 A1 shows a sealing tape with a carrier that has adhesive on both sides. A cut resistant strip is positioned on the front of the backing, but may be positioned on the back or molded into the backing. An insulating sound barrier can be arranged on the back of the carrier film.

The joint tape includes a water-impermeable sealing film strip with a water-repellent fleece coating on the front, which acts as a capillary barrier and serves as an adhesion promoter for the joint mortar. A self-adhesive layer is applied to the rear of the sealing film strip in an upper edge section. The joint tape further comprises a first insulating strip made of a water-impermeable and elastic material, which is connected to a lower edge portion of the front side and a second insulating strip made of an elastic material, which is arranged above the first insulating strip. There is also a connecting film strip that connects the two insulating strips.

The FR 2 914 548 A1 (LAZER Societe a responsabilite limitee) discloses, for example, a self-adhesive two-sided sealing tape for the wall connection with sanitary articles such. B. shower or bath tubs, sinks, etc. This sealing tape comprises a carrier with two layers of a soft material, z. B. based on acrylic or butyl, which are glued together and a reinforcing layer, z. B. a tissue or a net-like material surrounded. The reinforcement layer improves the mechanical properties of the sealing tape and prevents excessive stretching. It can be reinforced with glass fibers, for example. On the front and the back of the carrier, there is also a fleece in each area in order to support adhesion to the wall or to tiles.

In addition to the sealing function, such sealing tapes often also have a soundproofing function: the sanitary article should be mechanically decoupled from the room wall or walls, so that vibrations are not transmitted from the article to the wall or walls. It is known to arrange strips of soundproofing material between the article and the sealing tape or between the sealing tape and the wall for this purpose.

[0007] Sound insulation strips have a certain thickness, so they can form steps in known sealing strips and lead to difficulties during assembly. There is also a risk that the sound insulation strips will be damaged or torn off the sealing tape during the installation process.

PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

The object of the invention is to create a sealing tape belonging to the technical field mentioned at the outset, which enables simple and reliable installation.

The solution to the problem is defined by the features of claim 1. According to the invention, the sealing tape comprises a flat soundproofing element which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers.

The carrier in the sense of the invention is a flat structure that is decisive for the geometric dimensions of the sealing tape, ie has a certain mechanical stability and can absorb tensile forces, and also has a certain mechanical protective function. This applies individually to both or the three or more layers of the support.

Both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are thus embedded between layers of the carrier; this means that their main surfaces are completely covered by the carrier towards the outside. They are thus protected from external influences during assembly and held in the correct position within the carrier. In this context, it is advantageous if the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element are bonded to the surrounding layers of the carrier over a large area, preferably over the entire area.

The reinforcing layer serves to mechanically reinforce the sealing tape. You can - depending on the material of the carrier - prevent excessive stretching of the tape and protect the tape from damage by external influences such as z. This can occur, for example, when silicone is scraped out with spatulas or screwdrivers.

The structure of the sealing tape is advantageously the same over its entire length. The required length depends on the dimensions of the sanitary item and the installation situation. Typically, lengths of up to approx. 6 m are required. The sealing tape is expediently provided in a length sufficient for the usual situations and cut to length at the installation site. The sealing strip as a whole can therefore advantageously be cut, on the one hand so that it can be cut to length if necessary, and on the other hand so that in certain installation situations it can be cut in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the strip, so that sections bent by 90° to the horizontal are formed will.

The adhesives on the front and back are in particular layers of adhesive so that the tape can be bonded to a connection surface on the respective side without further ado—possibly after detaching a cover film. The adhesive, namely the one on the back, can also be applied immediately before use. In this case, the corresponding surface of the sealing tape is advantageously provided with an adhesion-promoting structure as part of the adhesive, e.g. B. with a fleece.

Due to its embedded in the carrier arrangement, the soundproofing element is protected from external influences, especially during assembly. Because the outer shape of the sealing tape is essentially determined by the wearer, the outer surfaces do not have any abrupt transitions that could make assembly difficult.

In a preferred embodiment, a first of the flat layers extends only partially over a width of the sealing strip, in particular over less than 75% of the width of the sealing strip. In this way, material consumption can be minimized and/or the geometry of the sealing tape can be optimized. In particular, not all layers of the carrier must also extend into regions where the mechanical loads are comparatively low. However, the layers are dimensioned in such a way that both the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are completely embedded in the carrier.

a) gradual overlapping: both the reinforcing layer and the soundproofing element each extend beyond the respective other element in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the strip;

b) complete coverage of the reinforcement layer by the soundproofing element;

c) complete coverage of the soundproofing element by the reinforcement layer.

Since a soundproofing element must have a certain thickness so that it can perform its decoupling function, its width is usually limited to that area of the sealing strip in which the decoupling between the sanitary article and the room wall must take place. The reinforcement layer can be made significantly thinner, so it contributes less to the outer shape of the sealing tape. On the other hand, harmful mechanical influences are not to be expected where the sanitary article (in particular a peripheral edge of the same) contacts the wall of the room. Thus, as a rule, a gradual U-overlap according to variant a) is preferred; namely, when assembled, the reinforcement layer extends upwards over the upper edge of the article, so that a joint area is protected, while a lower portion of the soundproofing element need not be covered by the reinforcement layer.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement layer and the soundproofing element are arranged in the carrier in such a way that the following areas are formed one after the other in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip:

[0024] a) a first region with a first of the planar layers of the carrier but without a second of the planar layers of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer and without a soundproofing element;

[0025] b) a second region with the first of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier and the second of the two-dimensional layers of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer and without a soundproofing element;

[0026]c) a third region with the first and the second layer of the carrier and with a reinforcement layer, without a soundproofing element;

[0027] d) a fourth region with the first and second layer of the carrier, with a reinforcement layer and with a soundproofing element;

e) a fifth area with the first and second layer of the carrier, with a soundproofing element, without a reinforcement layer.

In addition to the layers mentioned, further layers or elements can be present which are arranged on the whole or part of the surface on the back and/or front of the layer sequence mentioned. Further areas with a different layer sequence can also adjoin the first area and/or the fifth area.

In the installed state of the sealing tape, the fourth and fifth areas are in the area of the sanitary article that makes contact with the room wall (via the sealing tape), in particular on a tub rim, and decouples this area from the room wall. The third area extends upwards into the area of a sealing joint. The first to third areas are also usually covered by a wall covering, e.g. B. a tile covering covered.

In alternative embodiments, other sequences are possible. In a first group of preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises exactly two flat layers. With only two layers, the sealing tape is the easiest and

manufactured the thinnest, the risk of delamination is minimized.

In a second group of preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises at least three flat layers. This allows the layer sequence to be more specifically adapted to the mechanical requirements of the different areas.

The reinforcement layer and the planar soundproofing element can be embedded between the same two of the at least three planar layers. A simple production results. This arrangement should also be selected if one of the layers of the carrier does not extend into the area of the reinforcement layer and/or the soundproofing element.

However, the reinforcement layer and the planar soundproofing element can also be arranged at different points in the layer sequence, i. H. At least one of the at least three layers is arranged between the reinforcement layer and the flat soundproofing element. This enables a more flexible adjustment to the desired mechanical properties and, if necessary, better compensation for different layer thicknesses in the course transverse to the longitudinal direction of the strip.

The reinforcing layer is advantageously formed by a fabric or a net-like material. Such a fabric can be made by introducing reinforcing fibers such. B. glass fibers, aramid fibers or carbon fibers, with a high resistance and at the same time high flexibility. By selecting a suitable material, it can be ensured that the reinforcement layer—like the entire sealing tape—can be cut, specifically to enable it to be cut to length or to enable cuts running partially vertically through the sealing tape. Such cuts may be necessary so that areas of the sealing tape can be folded outwards if necessary, e.g. B. when installing shower trays flush with the floor.

Alternatively, other materials, e.g. As metals used.

A fleece is advantageously applied to an outside of the carrier. The fleece serves in particular to improve the adhesive properties on the outside of the tape. It improves z. B. the adhesion of tile adhesive. With this function, it is arranged in particular on the front side of the tape, which faces the sanitary article. As already mentioned, however, the adhesive on the reverse side of the tape can also comprise a fleece.

The flat soundproofing element is advantageously formed from a foam material. Such materials are available at low cost and have good soundproofing properties.

Further advantageous embodiments and combinations of features of the invention result from the following detailed description and the entirety of the patent claims.

WAYS TO CARRY OUT THE INVENTION

Figures 1A-C are views of a first embodiment of a sealing tape 10 according to the invention: In Figure 1A, the individual elements are in an exploded view, d. H. separated in a direction perpendicular to the main extensions of the sealing tape 10. In Figure 1B, the elements are shown assembled. Both in FIG. 1A and in FIG. 1B, the layer thicknesses of the elements are enlarged for the sake of clarity and are not shown to scale. FIG. 1C shows the sealing tape 10 without these increased layer thicknesses.

In the following, "rear" refers to that side of the sealing strip 10 which faces the room wall or the room floor after installation (in the figures on the right; with floor-level installation according to FIG. 9, partly below), while "front refers to that side of the sealing strip 10 which, after installation, faces the sanitary item or a cover (e.g. by means of tiles) (on the left in the figures; in the case of floor-level installation according to FIG. 9, partly at the top). "Top" designates that end of the sealing strip 10 which, in the installed state, is directed upwards or away from the sanitary article (in the figures above, in the case of floor-level installation according to FIG. 9 on the right), while "bottom" refers to that end of the sealing strip 10 which in the mounted state is directed downwards or adjacent to the sanitary article (in the figures below).

The sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment comprises a carrier which is formed by a first, rear carrier layer 11a and a second, front carrier layer 11b. The first carrier layer 11a has a slightly greater thickness than the second carrier layer 11b (see also the following table) and extends over the entire height of the sealing strip 10, while the second carrier layer 11b is only present in the lower part of the carrier 10. The two support layers 11a, 11b enclose a reinforcement layer 12 and a soundproofing element 13 and are bonded to one another above and below the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13. Bonding is also provided on both sides with the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 . The enclosed elements are arranged in an overlapping manner, with the reinforcement layer 12 extending above the soundproofing element 13 and the soundproofing element 13 extending below the reinforcement layer 12 .

The first carrier layer 11a is provided with a rear adhesive layer 15 in an upper region on its rear side. This is covered by a cover film 17 before assembly. The second carrier layer 11b is provided with a front adhesive layer 16 in a lower region on its front side. This is also covered by a cover film 18 before assembly. In an upper area, which does not overlap with the lower area with the adhesive layer 16, a fleece 14 is also glued to the front of the second carrier layer 11b.

The carrier layers 11a, 11b are made of a foamed polyethylene material. This has great elasticity in a direction transverse to the main surface and can therefore be compressed if necessary during assembly between the sanitary article and the wall, so that the sealing strip 10 adapts to the assembly situation. The reinforcement layer 12 is a fabric made from polyamide and aramid. The soundproofing element 13 is formed by a foam strip, the fleece 14 by fiber polyester felt (polyester-polyamide). The cover films 17, 18 are films made of polyethylene. The back adhesive layer 15 is formed by a layer of waterproof rubber adhesive. The front adhesive layer 16 is a butyl layer. The individual elements of the sealing tape 10 are also connected to one another by a waterproof rubber adhesive (not shown).

Figures 3 - 7 show various variants of the first embodiment. For comparison, FIG. 2 again shows the first embodiment of FIG.

3 shows the structure of the sealing strip 20 according to a second embodiment. In contrast to the first embodiment, the second carrier layer 21b extends over the entire width of the sealing strip 20, so its extent corresponds to that of the first carrier layer 21a. In contrast to those of the first embodiment, the two carrier layers 21, 21b also have the same thickness. The other elements are the same as those in the first embodiment. Further embodiments are possible, in which features of the first to sixth embodiment are combined in different ways. So e.g. B. the sequence of layers i. W. variable independently of the width of the layers.

[0064] FIG. 8 shows the attachment of the sealing strip according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub edge to a room wall. As in FIG. 1B, the layer thicknesses of the elements of the sealing strip 10 are also increased here in favor of clarity. To install the sanitary article, namely the tub 1, the covering film located on the front is first removed and the sealing tape is glued with the front layer of adhesive 16 to the outer peripheral edge of the tub. When gluing it on, it is continuously pressed onto the edge of the tub so that a moisture-proof connection is created.

After any further work, the rear cover film 67 is also removed and the tub 1 pushed to its destination on the wall 2. As a result, the rear side of the sealing tape 10 is bonded to the wall 2 via the rear adhesive layer 15. The front side of the sealing tape 10 is now applied in an area above the tub 1 (and further in an area of the wall 2 adjoining the sealing tape 10 at the top). a tile adhesive 6 is applied, then tiles 5 are applied to the wall in a manner known per se. The sealing strip 10 is correspondingly covered in its upper area by the tiles 5 and in its lower area by the tub 1 . A gap between the bottom row of tiles 5 and the edge of the tub is finally grouted, for example by a silicone joint 7 being drawn in the gap.

During the entire assembly process, the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and are thus protected from damage. The smooth transitions on the outside of the sealing strip 10 also result in simple assembly. When installed, the space between the tub 1 and the wall 2 is reliably protected against the ingress of moisture due to the front adhesive layer 16 made of butyl and the silicone joint 7 . The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between the tub 1 and the wall 2. Due to the tile adhesive 6 and the upper part of the sealing tape 10, penetration of moisture between the tiles 5 and the wall 2 is also prevented .

[0067] FIG. 9 shows the attachment of the sealing strip according to the first embodiment for sealing a tub rim to a surrounding floor surface. In particular, shower trays 1 'are today often to be installed flush with the floor, i. H. such that an upper edge of the rim of the shower tray is level with the surrounding floor. With the help of the same sealing strip 10 according to the invention, a tub rim can be installed on a wall as well as flush with the floor on the surrounding floor. As a rule, some sides of the shower tray 1' will be directly adjacent to the wall, while other sides will merge into the surrounding floor.

In order to mount the shower tray 1' flush with the floor, the covering film located on the front is first removed and the sealing tape 10 is glued with the front adhesive layer 16 to the outer peripheral edge of the tub and pressed firmly. In the corners at the U transitions between wall and floor, the upper part of the sealing strip 10 is now cut vertically up to the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13, z. B. with a conventional knife. In the context of the sealing tape 10 according to the first embodiment, the fleece 14 and also partially the first carrier layer 11a, the second carrier layer 11b and the reinforcement layer 12 are severed. Known corner elements can now be arranged in the corners as required.

The upper part of the sealing strip 10 (up to approximately the upper edge of the soundproofing element 13) is now folded 90° from the edge of the shower tray 1' to the outside, so that it rests on a subfloor 3 (or screed). After the rear covering film has been pulled off, the sealing tape 10 can now be glued to the floor with its rear side via the rear adhesive layer 15 . Folding it down is not a problem because the sealing strip 10 above the soundproofing element 13 is very flexible. In the case of the sealing strip 10 according to the first embodiment, the bending through 90° finally takes place in a section in which the two carrier layers 11a, 11b and the reinforcement layer 12 run.

Here, too, a tile adhesive 6' is applied to the (folded) front side of the sealing tape 10 in the horizontal area (and further in an area of the subfloor 3 adjoining the sealing tape 10 horizontally on the outside), and then tiles 5' are laid in themselves laid in a known manner. The sealing strip 10 is correspondingly covered in its horizontal section by the tiles 5' and in its vertical section by the shower tray 1'. A gap between the innermost row of tiles 5' and the edge of the tub is finally grouted, for example by drawing a silicone joint 7' in the gap.

Here, too, the reinforcement layer 12 and the soundproofing element 13 are enclosed between the two carrier layers 11a, 11b during the entire assembly process and are therefore protected from damage. The smooth transitions on the outside of the sealing strip 10 also result in simple assembly. When installed, the space between the tub 1 and the underlay 3 is reliably protected against the ingress of moisture due to the front adhesive layer 16 made of butyl and the silicone joint 7 . The soundproofing element 13 prevents the transmission of sound (and vibrations with frequencies outside the sound range) between the shower tray 1' and the floor. Due to the tile adhesive 6 'and the upper part of the sealing tape 10 penetration of moisture between the tiles 5' and the subfloor 3 is prevented.

With regard to the illustrations according to FIGS. 8 and 9, it should be noted that in reality the sealing tape is significantly thinner compared to the surrounding structures. In the U transition area, for example, the layer of tile adhesive dominates. Gaps of the kind that may appear from the illustrations are therefore not formed.

In summary, it can be stated that the invention creates a sealing tape for the wall connection for sanitary articles, which enables simple and safe installation.

Claims 1. Sealing tape (10) for the wall connection in sanitary articles (1; 1'), comprising a) a carrier (11a, 11b), adhesive means (15, 16) being applied at least in regions to a front side and a rear side of the carrier (11a, 11b); b) a reinforcement layer (12); wherein the carrier comprises at least two planar layers (11a, 11b) and the reinforcing layer (12) is embedded between two of the at least two planar layers (11a, 11b); marked by c) a flat soundproofing element (13) which is embedded between two of the at least two flat layers (11a, 11b), wherein the at least two flat layers (11a, 11b) have a certain mechanical stability, can absorb tensile forces and have a certain mechanical protective function. 2. Sealing strip according to claim 1, characterized in that a first of the flat layers (11a) extends only partially over a width of the sealing strip, in particular over less than 75% of the width of the sealing strip. 3. Sealing strip according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the reinforcing layer (12) and the soundproofing element (13) are arranged in an overlapping direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip (10). 4. Sealing tape according to Claim 2 and Claim 3, characterized in that the reinforcement layer (12) and the soundproofing element (13) are arranged in the carrier in such a way that the following areas are formed one after the other in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape (10): a) a first region with a first of the planar layers (11a) of the carrier but without a second of the planar layers (11b) of the carrier, without a reinforcement layer (12) and without a soundproofing element (13); b) a second area with the first of the flat layers (11a) of the support and the second of the flat layers (11b) of the support, without a reinforcement layer (12) and without a soundproofing element (13); c) a third area with the first and the second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b) and with a reinforcement layer (12), without a soundproofing element (13); d) a fourth area with the first and second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b), with a reinforcement layer (12) and with a soundproofing element (13); e) a fifth area with the first and second layer of the carrier (11a, 11b), with a soundproofing element (13), without a reinforcement layer (12). 5. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises exactly two flat layers (11a, 11b). 6. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the carrier comprises at least three flat layers. 7. Sealing tape according to claim 6, characterized in that the reinforcing layer and the flat soundproofing element is embedded between the same two of the at least three flat layers. 8. Sealing tape according to claim 6, characterized in that at least one of the at least three layers is arranged between the reinforcement layer and the planar soundproofing element. 9. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the reinforcing layer (12) is formed by a fabric or mesh-like material. 10. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a fleece (14) is applied to an outside of the carrier. 11. Sealing tape according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the flat soundproofing element (13) is formed from a foam material. 5 sheets of drawings
