Description
La presente invenzione si riferisce ad un procedimento migliorato per l'ossidrilazione di idrocarburi aromatici, procedimento che viene realizzato facendo reagire l'idrocarburo cui si è is interessati con acqua ossigenata in presenza di zeoliti sintetiche e di acetone in quantità di solvente.
È da tempo nota la reazione di ossidrilazione diretta degli idrocarburi aromatici con acqua ossigenata, che viene condotta in presenza di un catalizzatore generalmente scelto fra i sali dei 20 metalli di transizione.
Questa reazione presenta, tuttavia, alcuni inconvenienti fra i quali giova ricordare i seguenti:
— bassa selettività rispetto all'acqua ossigenata a causa della sua parziale decomposizione ad opera degli ioni metallici; 25
— bassa selettività rispetto all'idrocarburo reagito a causa di reazione di coupling di radicali organici intermedi;
— nel caso particolare del fenolo poi, i difenoli che si formano sono più facilmente ossidabili, del fenolo stesso, la qual cosa provoca inevitabilmente un notevole abbassamento della 30 conversione.
È noto inoltre l'impiego, nella realizzazione della reazione fra idrocarburo aromatico e acqua ossigenata, di un allumo-silicato acido avvelenato o parzialmente modificato con terre rare (brevetto U.S.A. No. 3 580 956). 35
L'uso di questo materiale catalitico, se pur migliora le prestazioni dei sistemi prima ricordati, non permette tuttavia di eliminare completamente l'ottenimento di considerevoli quantità di sottoprodotti inutili, la cui presenza incide negativamente sui risultati finali e sulla economia dell'intero processo. 40
È anche noto, dal brevetto svizzero No. 648 278 dell'8 settembre 1981 a nome della stessa richiedente, che è possibile legare gruppi ossidrilici a nuclei aromatici facendo reagire l'idrocarburo aromatico cui si è interessati con acqua ossigenata, senza nessuno degli inconvenienti prima ricordati, conducendo la 45 reazione in presenza di zeoliti sintetiche contenenti eteroatomi sia vicariati che scambiati.
Materiali zeolitici impiegabili nel processo secondo la suddetta domanda possono, ad esempio, essere scelte fra quelle descritte nel brevetto svizzero No. 643 803 depositato il 22 giugno 50 1979.
Quest'ultima descrive un materiale sintetico costituito da silice cristallina modificata dalla presenza di elementi che entrano nel lattice cristallino della silice al fine di sostituire alcuni atomi di silicio. 55
Gli elementi modificatori vengono scelti fra Cr, Be, Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Co, Zn, Rh, Ag, Sn, Sb, B,
La domanda suddetta si riferisce anche ai metodi che permettono l'ottenimento di quei materiali sintetici e ad esso rimandiamo per un esame dei dettagli necessari come pure per 60 una migliore comprensione della struttura del materiale stesso.
Ritornando al processo di ossidrilazione, oggetto della domanda Svizzera No. 5801/81-5 depositata l'8 settembre 1981 è importante sottolineare il grande vantaggio, legato, nella esecuzione del processo, all'impiego di zeoliti sintetiche, che consi- 65 ste nella possibilità di guidare la reazione stessa verso la formazione di un prodotto piuttosto di un altro semplicemente scegliendo una determinata zeolite modificata. Così, ad esempio,
nel caso della ossidrilazione del fenolo si impiega un materiale sintetico, cristallino, poroso, costituito da ossidi di silicio e titanio, e l'uso di un materiale siffatto permette di ottenere una miscela di idrochinone e pirocatechina a rapporti uguali o maggiori ad 1.
La reazione fra idrocarburo aromatico e acqua ossigenata viene condotta ad una temperatura scelta nell'intervallo compreso fra 80 e 120°C, in presenza del solo idrocarburo ovvero in presenza di un solvente scelto fra acqua, metanolo, acido acetico, isopropanolo, acetonitrile.
Substrati idrocarburici che possono essere trattati secondo la presente invenzione sono: fenolo, toluene, anisolo, xileni, mesitilene, benzene, nitrobenzene, etilbenzene, acetanilide.
La Richiedente ha ora trovato che facendo reagire l'idrocarburo cui si è interessati in presenza di acetone è possibile condurre la reazione a rapporti di carico particolarmente elevati e con rese estremamente alte.
Il tenore di sottoprodotti pesanti risulta essere molto basso.
La reazione avviene preferibilmente alla temperatura di riflusso.
I particolari operativi saranno evidenti dall'esame dei seguenti esempi illustrativi, nei quali si utilizzeranno le definizioni qui di seguito riportate:

Esempio 1
In un pallone da 250 cc vengono caricati gr 50 di fenolo, gr 39 di acetone e gr 2,5 di catalizzatore. Quando il sistema raggiunge la temperatura di 80°C si aggiungono 10 cc di H2O2 al 36% p/v. Dopo due ore di reazione si ottengono i seguenti risultati:
Selettività Fenolo = 96,25% Conv. Fenolo = 18,36%
ResainfhCh = 88,5%
Peci/Peci + Difenoli = 4,2%
Selettività in idrochinone = 50%.
Esempio 2
Si procede come nell'esempio 1 ma aggiungendo 15 cc di H2O2 al 36% p/v. Dopo due ore si ottengono questi risultati: Selettività Fenolo = 95,45% Conv. Fenolo = 24,25%
Rese H202 = 79,6%
Peci/Peci + Difenoli = 5,1%
Selettività Hq = 50%.
Esempio 3
Si procede come nell'esempio 2, ma aggiungendo 20 cc di H2O2 al 36% p/v. Dopo due ore si ottengono questi risultati: Selettività Fenolo = 92,96% Conv. Fenolo = 31,28%

Come esempio 3 ma aggiungendo 25 cc di H2O2 al 36%. Dopo due ore si ottengono questi risultati:

Selettività Hq = 50%
Conv. Fenolo = 36,64%.
Esempio 5
Come nell'esempio 4 ma aggiungendo 30 cc di H2O2 al 36%. Dopo due ore si ottengono questi risultati:
Selettività Fenolo = 89,4%
Resa H2O2 = 59,4%
Peci/Peci + Difenoli = 12%
Selettività = Hq 50%
Conv. Fenolo = 37,76%.
Esempio 6
In un pallone da 250 cc di refrigerante a bolle si mettono 30 cc di Anisolo, 70 cc di acetone e 3 gr di catalizzatore. Quando si raggiunge la temperatura di 70°C si raggiungono goccia a goccia 7,5 cc di H2O2 al 36%. A fine reazione si ottengono i seguenti risultati:

Conv. Anisolo = 22,7%

Claims (2)
1. Procedimento per l'ossidrilazione di idrocarburi aromatici mediante acqua ossigenata consistente nel far reagire detti composti in presenza di zeoliti sintetiche contenenti eteroatomi sia vicariati che scambiati caratterizzato dal fatto che la reazione è condotta in presenza di acetone.
2. Procedimento come da rivendicazione 1 in cui l'idrocarburo aromatico è scelto fra fenolo, toluene, anisolo, xileni, me-sitilene, benzene, nitrobenzene, etilbenzene, acetanilide.
