The present invention relates to an extendable scaffolding.
It has already been proposed to produce mobile scaffolds or not formed of tubular metal elements assembled to each other to obtain, for example, a tower at the top of which is fixed a working platform. By providing the base element with casters, the scaffolding thus produced can be moved from one place to another. The drawback of such a construction is that it is rigid, that is to say of requiring the dismantling or the addition of elements to modify the height of the work platform. On the other hand, such a scaffolding is heavy and bulky and cannot be moved anywhere.
The present invention aims to provide a simple solution with a view to producing a light scaffolding, easy to transport and of which the height of the working platform can be adjusted simply using an electric drill of known type or of a crank by a person on this platform.
The extendable scaffolding forming the subject of the present invention is distinguished by the fact that it comprises telescoping elements interconnected by at least one flexible link, a work platform fixed on the upper element, and a device for winding of this link on this upper element.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the scaffolding which is the subject of the present invention.
Fig. I is an elevational view of this scaffolding in the extended position,
fig. 2 schematically shows on a larger scale a detail of FIG. 1,
fig. 3 is a partial section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1,
fig. 4 shows the scaffolding in elevation in the folded position.
The extensible scaffolding shown comprises telescoping elements 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 each constituted by a frame of generally parallelepiped shape. This frame is formed of metal tubes of square section, for example aluminum or another light metal. The telescoping elements 1-6 are connected to each other by two flexible nylon ties, one of which is shown diagrammatically at 7 in FIG. 2. These links 7 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical axis of the scaffolding and pass alternately above and below the short sides of the frames 1-6.
Each link 7 is fixed to the base frame I at one end and, after passing over rollers 8 mounted on the short sides of the frames 1-6, winds up on a double drum 9, that is to say a drum divided into two parts by a separation to receive the two links 7. This double drum 9 with a horizontal axis is carried by a platform 10 fixed to the upper frame 6. A worm speed reducer shown diagrammatically in R is mounted on the shaft of the drum 9 and is driven from the platform 10 using an electric drill 11 of conventional type. A reverser of the direction of rotation of the reducer R is also shown schematically in I and has inlets made on the faces of its housing to receive the drive member of the drill 11 in different positions.
The base frame 1 carries on each of its long sides an arm or triangular frame 12 for lateral stabilization, folding around its vertical side 12 'in the plane of the corresponding large face of the frame 1. A stay 13 is fixed with a on the one hand in the vicinity of the outer end of the horizontal arm 12 "of the frame 12, and on the other hand, on the platform 10 to a pulley P with automatic winding and locking for the tension of this stay 13 for the maintenance side of this platform Fig. 1 shows the two guy ropes 13 in the position corresponding to the maximum extension of the scaffold which is stabilized laterally by the arms 12 "and the guy ropes 13.
Height-adjustable feet 14 are mounted at the lower ends of the vertical tubes of the base frame I to immobilize the scaffold in the working position. Casters 15 are also mounted on the base frame I to allow the scaffolding to be moved at will when the feet 14 are retracted. Each triangular frame 12 also carries a foot 16 adjustable in height and mounted at the end of the horizontal side 12 "to provide lateral support to the scaffolding.
To facilitate the telescoping of the frames 1-6 into each other, pulleys 17 with V-grooves are arranged at the upper and lower corners of these frames, these pulleys 17 being applied against the ridge facing the vertical uprights of the interior telescoping frame. Fig. 3 shows in partial section the frames 5 and 6 with the roller 8 mounted on the small upper side 18 of the frame 5. Locking members 19 are also mounted on this side 18 to cooperate with stops 20 fixed on the vertical sides of the frame. frame 6. The locking members 19 in the form of a square are mounted to pivot about a horizontal axis 19 'and comprise a part (not shown) which locks against the corresponding stop 20 when the latter moves the visible part of the frame. organ 19. FIG.
I shows that in the maximum extension position of the scaffolding, the stops 20 lock the telescoping frames 1-6 approximately one third of their height so as to obtain good stability of the scaffolding. One could obviously provide other locking means than those of the example described, in particular with pawls or the like.
Telescoping tubes designated generally at 21 in FIGS. 1 and 4 are mounted in the central vertical axis of the scaffolding and serve as a hydraulic or pneumatic safety brake in the event of the links 7 breaking.
A guardrail 22 is mounted on the platform 10 and can be folded into the position shown in FIG. 4.
The set of frames 1-6 folded in the position of FIG. 4 can be carried by two men using horizontal arms 23 which, in the non-use position, can be folded down into the vertical position.
