Jeu
On pourrait,
Game
The subject of the invention is a game, in particular a board game
in which players take turns adding a chosen number
in a group of digits to a starting numerical value in order to reach a predetermined final numerical value.
This game is characterized in that it comprises a device making it possible to select a sign in at least one group of si
gnes, said device comprising means for excluding, during each selection, a previously selected sign, and for renaming it.
dre available again upon subsequent selection.
The accompanying drawing represents, schematically and by way of
for example, two embodiments of the device included in the game according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the second embodiment.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the second embodiment according to III-III of FIG. 2.
The device according to the first embodiment comprises a support 1 on which are marked numbers from 1 to 8 in pairs side by side, at the bottom of a box, the first box 2 corresponding to the numbers 1 and 8, the second box 3 to numbers 2 and 7, the third box 4 to numbers 3 and 6, and the fourth box 5 to numbers 4 and 5. A slide 6 of width corresponding to that of the box and of length corresponding to half that of the box is mounted on each of boxes 2 to 5, so that it can be moved from one of its ends to the other. In doing so, the slide 6 alternately hides one or the other of the two digits marked at the bottom of the corresponding box. Thus, only one digit of each pair, so four digits in total, is available to each.
of players when it is his turn to play.
The next player will have the same numbers, except one, corresponding to the one that was played by the previous player and that will have been replaced by the other number of his pair, and so on.
When using the device according to this first form
execution of the game, it is necessary to add the numbers played successively by each player either mentally or in writing.
Of course, any means allowing to hide alternative
A number from each pair might be suitable. We could,
for example, consider entering the two digits of each pair
on a movable tab likely to make them appear alter
natively in a window presented by support 1.
The device according to the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 comprises a housing 7 in which are mounted both flip-flops 8 and a counter 9. The flip-flops 8 are mounted
movably on a shaft 10 and each marked, on their upper face, with a pair of figures of the group of figures envisaged.
The numbers of each pair are marked side by side on the rocker 8, respectively in the vicinity of one of its ends 8a, 8b constituting keys. The rockers 8 are individually movable by rotation around the shaft 10 from a position where one of the keys can be actuated to a position where the other key can be actuated. In the position of the rocker 8 shown in FIG. 3, it is the button 8b which can be operated.
As shown in fig. 3, the rockers 8 each extend at right angles inside the housing 7 by a finger 1 1 having at its free end a hole 12 drilled parallel to the hole through which the shaft 10 passes. Along one of the edges and above the notch 13, made at right angles to the shaft 10 in the upper wall of the housing 7 and providing passage to said finger 11 of the lever 8, is mounted a leaf spring 14 which will be bent by the point of a triangular projection 15, parallel to the finger 11, which the lever 8 has, each time the latter is actuated. Thus, the rocker 8 is held firmly in each of its two alternative positions.
The counter 9 consists of a graduated disc 16 in front of which moves a needle 17 integral with a shaft 18. A pulley 19 and a ratchet wheel 20 are also made integral with the shaft 18 and the pulley 19 is friction driven. by a cord 21 fixed to the housing 7 by one of its ends 22. This cord engages alternately in the guide members 23 that the housing has and in the holes 12 of the successive levers 8, then is wound around the pulley 19. The free end of cord 21 then passes over a guide member 24 and is connected to one of the ends 25 of a spring 26, the other end 27 of which is fixed to the bottom of the housing 7.
A pawl 28 rotatably mounted in the housing against the action of a spring 29 engages via its free end in the teeth of the ratchet wheel 20.
The operation of this device is as follows:
Each time a player actuates one of the keys 8a, 8b of a rocker 8, the finger 11 with which this rocker is provided is rowed initially born approximately in alignment with the adjacent guide members 23, which produces a release of the traction in the lateral direction exerted by said finger 11 on the section of the cord 21 passing between the two adjacent guide members 23 and in its own hole 12. As a result, the cord 21 is subjected to a traction from the part of the spring 26 tending to put it back under tension. Since the ratchet wheel 20 is immobilized by the pawl 28, it prevents the pulley 19 from rotating clockwise under the effect of the traction exerted by the spring 26 on the cord 21 which slips by consequent in his throat.
Thus, the shaft 18 and the indicator needle 17 of the counter do not undergo any rotation, while the cord 21 is put under tension again under the effect of the spring 26.
Secondly, the finger 11 of the rocker 8 exerts a
lateral pull in the opposite direction to the previous one on the horn
donnet 21 which turns the pulley 19 in the opposite direction of the ai
gilles of a watch at an angle proportional to the number
carries the rocker button 8 which has just been actuated by the
player. This rotation is transmitted by shaft 18 to the needle indi
catrice 17 which moves next to a number of graduations
corresponding disk 16.
This sophisticated device avoids having to add the numbers
successive frescoes corresponding to the keys actuated by the players and allows to realize at any time the value
digital reached.
Of course, all kinds of mechanical and electronic counters could be coupled to the keys of the device shown in FIG. 2. One could, for example, replace the cord 21 and the pulley 19 by a gear making it possible to produce, when each key 8a, 8b of the rockers 8 is actuated, the advance of the totalizer of a counter by one. number of units corresponding to the number marked on this key.
According to a particularly simple version, the device could consist of a set of plates each carrying a pair of numbers, one number being marked on each face of the plate. In this case, when the plate is placed on a table, the number carried by its underside is automatically
hidden.
