Apparatus for the treatment of gut fabrics with a fluid, in particular for degreasing, bleaching and dyeing The invention relates to an apparatus for the treatment of gut fabrics with a fluid, in particular for degreasing, bleaching and dyeing. the dyeing, comprising a tank having two opposite walls, a drag drum rotatably mounted in the tank between these walls, a helical guide member parallel to the drum and also rotatably mounted between these walls, so that the fabric in hose passes from the drum through a treatment fluid contained in the tank and on the guide member,
and a conveyor disposed near one end of the drum and to which the front end of the fabric is to be attached to be driven by it around adjacent ends of the drum and the guide member.
An apparatus of this type is described, for example, in US Patent No. 3308639. The invention aims to make it possible to treat the tubular fabric in question for a shorter or longer period without modifying the number of revolutions of the driving drum.
The apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises drive means for rotating the drive drum at a predetermined speed, drive means for the conveyor and a speed changing device capable of driving the helical guide member at selected speeds relative to that of the drive drum, so as to form loops in the gut fabric, which are received in pockets of the helical guide member and arranged on the drive drum at a distance from each other, the pockets receiving the loops and said distance depending on the choice of the driving speed of the helical guide organ.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a diagram of the apparatus while fig. 2-5 show different ways of using this device. The apparatus represented and designated as a whole by the reference 210 comprises a drum 212 mounted for rotation between the side walls of an open or closed tank or on a frame contained in the tank, not shown. At a certain distance from the drum 212 is also mounted to rotate between the walls of the tank or on a suitable frame a helical guide member 214 consisting of a rod wound helically around a stabilizer and carrier shaft.
This rod defines a succession of intermediate spaces or pockets 216 shaped into a helix and regularly spaced from one another.
Towards one of the ends of the drum 212 and the helical guide member 214 is disposed an endless conveyor chain 218 which moves in a closed circuit in a vertical plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the drum and of the helical guide member. The path of the chain passes over the periphery of the drum 212, extends beyond it, returns from below, passes it, and then rises to above the periphery of the end of the chain. the helical mistletoe member.
This chain comprises a finger 220 to which the upstream end 205 of the fabric in a gut is hingedly attached to pass this fabric into the tank where it is subjected to the action of a treatment liquid, in particular a dye.
The drum 212 is secured to a protruding shaft end 222 on which are wedged wheels 224 and 226 which play the role of input and power take-off. The wheel 224, or input wheel, is connected by a chain 228 to a pinion 230 mounted on the shaft 232 of an electric motor 234 which constitutes the drive member of the apparatus and turns the gear. drum 212 to a predetermined value, depending on the choice of wheels 230 and 224.
The power take-off wheel 226 is in turn connected by a chain 236 to a pinion 238 wedged on the input shaft 240 of a speed variator 242. This variator 242 has an output shaft 244 which carries a wheel toothed 246, which is connected by a chain 248 with another wheel 250 wedged on an intermediate shaft 252.
The shaft 252 carries an output wheel 254 that a chain 256 connects to a wheel 258 mounted on a sleeve 260. The sleeve 260 is also integral with another wheel 262 on which the conveyor chain is wound 218 . This wheel 262 thus constitutes the driving member in the series of toothed wheels which define the closed circuit of movement of the chain 218. The sleeve 260 is mounted idle on the drive shaft 264 of the member. helical guide 214, this shaft being fixed to the aforementioned member, preferably removably.
The intermediate shaft 252 carries towards its outer end a second output wheel 266 which a chain 268 connects to a wheel 270 wedged on the input shaft 272 of a gearbox 274 with speed change intended to control. the rotation of the helical guide member 214.
As shown somewhat schematically in fig. 1, the box 274 includes the drive shaft 272 and the driven shaft 276, which is connected to the drive shaft 264 of the helical guide. The shafts 272 and 276 bear traveling gears 278 capable of being selectively engaged with gears 280, of different ratios, mounted on a secondary shaft 282 inside the box. A gearshift lever 284 allows the players to slide 278 to selectively engage them with the first, second, third and fourth of gears 280, allowing rotation at selected speeds. at will the drive shaft 264 of the helical guide member 214.
As shown in fig. 2, when the gears of the box are in the position which corresponds to the 1/1 ratio, the input speed of the shaft 272 of FIG. 1 is the same as that of the driven shaft 276. Therefore, the drive shaft 264 of the helical guide member 214 itself rotates at a speed such that it receives the slurries L of the tissue. hose in each of its pockets or consecutive spaces 216.
It should be noted that no modification takes place in the drive of drum 212. This is set for a predetermined speed, as is usually the case with electric motors. The peripheral speed of the drum controls the linear movement of the fabric in the gut. The box 274 plays no role in the drive of the drum or in the number of revolutions per minute of the finger 220 of the carrier chain. The load is variable in that the spacing of the loops of the fabric hose on the drum 212 can be varied by means of the box 274.
As shown in fig. 3, when the box is in the 2/1 gear position, the input speed of the box remains the same, but its output speed is twice as strong, so that the helical guide member 214 rotates faster in order to receive the loops L1 in each of its spaces or pockets of odd rank. As shown in the figure, instead of each pocket 216 being loaded, the first 216a receives the tissue, then this passes to the third pocket 216b, the fifth 216c, the seventh 216d, etc.
Fig. 4 corresponds to the case where the transmission box is brought to the 3 / l ratio position. The input speed remains the same, but due to the shifting of the gears to the third combination, the output speed of the helical guide member is three times the input speed, so this member receives the loops of fabric in its first pocket, the second and third not being loaded, then in the fourth, and so on. Thus in fig. 3, L2 loops are received in the first pocket 216a, in the fourth 216e, in the seventh 216d, etc.
Fig. 5 shows the position corresponding to the ratio 4/1, the entry speed still being the same, but the exit speed four times greater, so that the loops L3 are received in the first pocket of the guide member 214, the second, the third and the fourth pocket not being loaded, then in the fifth, etc., so on. Thus in fig. 5, there is an L3 loop in the first pocket 216a, in the fifth pocket 216c, in the ninth 216g, and so on (i.e. in the thirteenth, seventeenth, etc., not shown ).
The first pocket 216a always contains a loop, since it is this which ensures the continuous formation of the loops because it is close to the carrier chain 218 to which the upstream end of the fabric hose is attached. The speed of rotation chosen for the helical guide member determines the pockets of the latter which will receive the successive loops to guide them around the drum and to keep them at the desired spacing over the length of the latter.
When the loading operation is completed, the downstream end (not shown) of the fabric hose rotates freely in the last pocket (not shown) of the helical guide member 214 while the first loop is constantly reconstituted and that the intermediate loops, located between the first and the last pocket, rotate so as to pass through the treatment bath, in the manner described in US Pat. No. 3,308,639.
It will be understood that the invention has thus made it possible to establish a drive device suitable for controlling the spacing of the loops of fabric in an apparatus of the type shown and described in US Patent No. 3308639. This device is extremely simple, safe and long service life; it is perfectly effective for controlling the rotation of the helical guide member, without interfering with that of the drum or with the closed-circuit movement of the carrying chain.
Of course, the gearbox 274 shown can be replaced by another speed changing device. For example, the hand control by use of the shift lever 284 can be replaced by a push button system. Instead of gears, for example, a hydraulic transmission or other type of variable speed drive can be adopted.
