Description
There is often a need to divide larger rooms, such as school rooms, gymnasiums or the like, into smaller rooms so that they can be used for lectures, theater performances, etc., consisting of a double curtain that can be opened. It is already known to use double curtains in order to dampen the transmission of noise between rooms. The curtains can each be pulled up individually by ropes hanging from the ceiling, which ropes are attached to the curtains through existing eyelets at different heights. The curtains are folded accordingly as they are opened.
This embodiment has the disadvantage that the curtain hangs like a bag and unsightly under the ceiling. The present invention aims to remedy this disadvantage and at the same time to provide a simplified device for pulling the double curtain in order to achieve a symmetrical folding of the curtains in their raised position.
The invention is characterized in that the curtains in superimposed horizontal planes are connected by series of ribbons or ropes mitein other, and that between the two curtains under the lowest series of ribbons or ropes over the entire length of the curtains he stretching and when pulling up the series of straps or ropes carrying supporting bodies is provided to which the pulling ropes to be operated are attached.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a double curtain hanging from a ceiling and its pulling device.
Fig. 2 is an end view of the depending double curtain on a smaller scale; and Fig. 3 is an end view of the double curtain drawn up.
In the drawing, 1 and 2 designate two curtains which are parallel to one another and hanging fairly close to one another from a ceiling 3. The curtains are connected by horizontally lying series of strips 4a, 4b, 4c, which are laid in different heights and conveniently at the same height distances from each other. Under the lowest band series 4a, a rod 5 is laid in the middle between the curtains and is preferably made of light material in the form of a tube. This rod is carried by a number of hoisting ropes 6, 6b, etc., which are guided over guide rollers 7a, 7b and drawn to a hoisting device 8 that is laid sideways.
The winding device can be made up of a cable drum driven by an electric motor. With simpler conditions and smaller curtains, a hand-driven cable drum can also be used if necessary.
The ropes 6a, 6b are expediently passed through the ceiling and the guide rollers 7a, 7b as well as the cable drum 8 are arranged above this, which makes it possible to pull the double curtain up very close to the ceiling.
When pulling up the double curtain from the hanging position according to FIG. 1 into the raised position by means of the pull-up rod 5, this rod successively lifts the tape series 4a, 4b, 4c between the simple 1 and 2 before hanging. This causes symmetrical wrinkling of the curtain parts lying between the series of bands under the ceiling, as shown in FIG. This symmetrical fold extends along the entire width of the double curtain, so that an aesthetic effect results, especially with the same height differences between the series of bands.
The individual curtains 1, 2 are pulled up at the same time and do not interfere with each other.
Instead of tape series 4a, 4b, 4c, ropes could also be used.
