Verfahren= Herstellung von Azofarbstoffen Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Azofarbstoffen, das dadurch gekenn zeichnet ist, d'ass Tetrazoniumverbindungen mit halo- genierten aliphatischen Methylketonen@ welche noch freie kupplungsfähige H-Atome enthalten, zur Reak tion gebracht werden.
Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren kann z. B. bei einem pH bis oder von 7, aber auch bei einem pH über 7 durchgeführt werden. Die für das erfindungs gemässe Verfahren eingesetzten Tetrazoniumverbin- dungen können beliebig substituiert sein.. So können die erfindungsgemäss eingesetzten Tetrazoniumverbin- dungen z. B: zur Metallkomplexbildung befähigte Gruppen. enthalten.
Die mit solchen Tetrazoniumver- bindungen erfindungsgemäss erhaltenen Azofarbstoffe können anschliessend metallisiert werden, z. B. mit metallabgebenden Mitteln wie Cu-, Co-, Ni oder Cr- abgebenden Mitteln.
Vorteilhaft enthalten die erfin dungsgemäss hergestellten Azofarbstoffe die zur Me- tallkomplexbildung befähigten Gruppen in Nachbar stellung zu Azobrücken. Man kann das erfindungs gemässe Verfahren z. B. so durchführen, dass man in das saure Gemisch von Tetrazoniumverb'indung, z. B. tetrazotierter Benzidin-3,3'-dicarbonsäure, und halo- geniertem aliphatischem Methylketon, z.
B. haloge- nierüem Aceton, so lange säureabstumpfende oder säureneutralisierende Verbindungen oder Puffersub stanzen, z. B. Na-Acetat, Mg-Hydroxyd, Soda, Al:- kalihydroxydlösungen eingibt, bis das pH des Kupp lungsmilieus schwach sauer, neutral, schwach alka lisch oder stark alkalisch ist.
Man kann so auf die oben beschriebene Art und Weise erfindungsgemäss zu Azo- farbstoffen kommen, welche reaktionsfähige Halogen atome, z. B. Chloratome, enthalten. Derartige Azofarb- stoffe mit reaktionsfähigen Halogenatomen können dann anschliessend auf die verschiedenste Art und Weise auf chemischem Wege weiter umgesetzt werden.
Bei der Durchführung des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens kann man das Molverhältnis von Tetrazo- niumverbindung zum halogenierten aliphatischen Methylketon je nach Wunsch verschieden hoch wäh len, so kann man z.
B. im Molverhältnis 1 : 1, aber auch im Molverhältnis 1 : 2 oder in irgendeinem an deren beliebigen Moiverhältnds kuppeln. Man kann das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren auch so durchfüh- ren,
dass man Gemische von Tetrazoniumverbindun- gen und/oder Gemische von halogenierten aliphati- schen Methylketonen einsetzt.
Falls die erfindungsgemäss eingesetzten Tetra zoniumverbindungen zur Metallkomplexbildung be fähigte Gruppen enthalten, so können: als solche Grup pen z. B. genannt werden:
OH, SH, wobei die OH- öder SH-Gruppen tosyliert oder mit Schwefelsäure verestert sein können, NH2, COÖH, COSH, OCH2COOH, SCH2COOH, SCH2COSH, Halogenatome, vorzugsweise Chlor- oder Bromatome, niedere O-Alkylreste, vorzugsweise Methoxy- oder Äthoxyreste, niedere S-Alkykeste, z.
B. SCH., SC2H5, ferner COOCHV COOC.H5, COSCH., Sulfonamid gruppen usw. Selbstverständlich können die erfin dungsgemäss eingesetzten Tetrazoniumverbindungen zusätzlich noch beliebige weitere Substituenten ent halten, z.
B. Chromophore wie Azobrücken, Nitro gruppen, ferner Auxochrome" Sulfogruppen, Sulfon- amidgruppen, Acylreste wie Acetylreste, Aminoacyl reite, Acylaminoreste, aliphatische Reste, aromatische Reste, aral'iphatische Reste, Alkoxyreste, Aroxyreste, heterocyclische Reste, Halogenatome,
vorzugsweise Chlor-, Fluor- oder Bromatome. Falls die erfindungs gemäss erhaltenen metallisierten oder nicht metallisier ten oder nicht metallisierbaren Azofarbstoffe Sulfo- gruppen. enthalten und wasserlöslich sind, so können derartige Azofarbstoffe mit lackbildenden Metallen, z. B. Cälcium, Strontium, Barium, Blei, an den Sulfo- gruppen verlackt werden.
In Durchführung einer beispielsweisen ganz be sonderen Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens wurde in äusserst überraschender Weise gefunden, dass man einen Azofarbstoff erhält, der

Auch bei der Durchführung der Me- tallisierung kann man Zusätze verwenden, z.
B. ober flächenaktive Verbindungen, wie Netzmittel, Disper- giermittel, und/oder Schutzstoffe, z. B. Lösungen von Alkaliseifen, von höheren Fettsäuren, Kolophonium- seifen, oder Emulsionen von Fetten, Paraffinen, Wach sen oder fetten Ölen oder von Weichmachern, um Pig mente weicher Textur zu erhalten.
Die Metallisierung kann in, Substanz oder aber auf der Faser erfolgen. Ferner können die nach dem erfindlungsgemässen Ver- fahren erhaltenen Azofarbstoffe :nachträglich auf die verschiedenste Art und Weise auf chemischem Wege umgesetzt werden.
Die nach dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren her gestellten Azofarbstoffe, vorzugsweise in metallisier ter Form, können, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz von organischen Binde- und/oder Verdünnungsmitteln, in die nötige Gebrauchsform, z. B. in Pulver, Teige, halbfeste oder feste Konzentrate, übergeführt werden.
Die nach dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren her gestellten, Azofarbstoffe, vorzugsweise in metallisierter Form, können mit den verschiedensten Applikations- met'hoden je nach ihrer chemischen Konstitution als Pigment-, Lack-, Druck- oder Textilfarbstoffe Ver- wendung finden. So kann man z.
B. mit diesen Azo- farbstoffen Wolle, Nylon, Seide, Spinnmassen, Fette, Schmierfette, Öle, Schmieröle, Harze, Lacke, Schmel zen, Wachse oder polymere Massen mit oder ohne Zusätze anorganischer oder organischer Natur fär ben. Man kann auch. Textilgewebe mit diesen Farb stoffen bedrucken. Die nach dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren hergestellten Azofarbstoffe zeigen im all gemeinen ein gutes bis sehr gutes Aufziehvermögen auf Wolle, Seide und Polyamiden.
Es ist nach dem erfindungsgemässen Verfahren möglich, je nach der Wahl der Tetrazoniumverbi@n- dungen mit metallkomplexbildenden Gruppen und den zur Komplexierung angewandten metallabgebenden Mitteln eine grosse Anzahl von Azometallkomplexen der verschiedensten Farben und Nuancen herzustellen.
Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren, stellt in An betracht der grosstechnisch und einfach durchführ- baren Reaktionen sowie der grosstechnisch züi ökono mischen Bedingungen herstellbaren passiven. Kupp lungskomponenten einen beachtlichen technischen Fortschritt auf dem Gebiet der Azochemie dar.
In den Beispielen bedeuten die Teile, sofern nichts anderes angegeben ist, Gewichtsteile. Die Ge wichtsteile verhalten sich zu den Volumteilen wie Gramm zu Kubikzentimeter.
<I>Beispiel 1</I> 10 Teile Benzidin-3,3'-dicarbonsäure (etwa 80%ig) in 50 Volumteilen Wasser und 9 Volumteilen Salz säure konz. werden kurz auf 70 C erwärmt. Man lässt erkalten, setzt weitere 9 Volumteile Salzsäure konz. zu und tetrazotiert mit 5 Teilen Nitrit in 20 Volumteilen Wasser gelöst bei 10-12 C etwa 1 Stunde lang.
Anschliessend setzt man der Tetrazoniumverbin- d'ung 3,4 Teile Monochloraceton unter starkem Tur- binieren zu und lässt dann bei 10 C die Lösung von 8 Teilen Na-Hydroxyd in 100 Volumteilen Wasser langsam unter starkem Turbinieren in das Gemisch einlaufen oder eintropfen. Man lässt die Temperatur der tieffarbigen Kupplungslösung im Verlaufe mehre rer Stunden langsam bis auf Raumtemperatur anstei gen und:
säuert mit Salzsäure an. Dabei fällt das Kupplungsprodukt aus. Ausbeute Rohprodukt 13,5 Teile. Unlöslich in Alkohol, Eisessig, Benzol, Dioctyl- phthalat, löslich in Dimethylformamid. Smp. über 400 C. Dunkelbraunes Pulver.
a) Cu-Komplex: Man löst 2 Teile obigen Kupplungs produktes in 100 Volumteilen Wasser und 5 Vo- lumteilen wässrigen Ammoniaks, konz. unter Er wärmen. Anschliessend giesst man die Lösung von 2 Teilen Cu-Sulfat in 30 Volumteilen Wasser in obige heisse Lösung ein, kocht kurz auf, lässt er kalten und säuert mit Salzsäure an. Dabei fällt der Cu-Komplex aus.
Unlöslich in Alkohol, Eis essig, Benzol, Dioctylphthalat. <I>Beispiel 2</I> 10 Teile Benzidin-3,3'-dicarbonsäure (etwa 80%ig) werden wie nach 1 tetrazotiert. Anschliessend setzt man der Tetrazoniumverbindung 3,

Wei tere Kupplung und Isolierung des Kupplungsproduk tes wie nach 1. Ausbeute Rohprodukt 11,6 Teile. Dunkelbraunes Pulver.

The azo dyes prepared by the process according to the invention generally show good to very good absorption properties on wool, silk and polyamides.
According to the process according to the invention, it is possible, depending on the choice of tetrazonium compounds with groups forming metal complexes and the metal-releasing agents used for complexing, to produce a large number of azo metal complexes of the most varied of colors and shades.
The process according to the invention represents passive reactions that can be carried out on a large scale and simply taking into account the large scale economic conditions that can be produced. Coupling components represent a considerable technical advance in the field of azo chemistry.
