Means for influencing plant growth, in particular for combating weeds. It has surprisingly been found that triazines of the formula
EMI0001.0004
where R1 and R2 denote hydrogen or a non-aromatically bound hydrocarbon radical, optionally substituted for example by chlorine, have a growth-inhibiting and killing effect on plants even in very low concentrations.
Compounds of the formula defined above can easily be prepared, for example, by reacting cyanuric chloride with ammonia, primary or secondary amines.
They are particularly suitable as active ingredients for weed control agents, both for the selective killing of weeds under cultivated plants and for the total killing and prevention of unwanted vegetation. Weeds are also understood here to mean undesired crops, for example crops grown previously or in the vicinity.
The compounds defined above are also suitable as active ingredients for exerting other inhibitory effects on plant growth, in particular defoliation, acceleration of ripening through premature drying out, for example of potato plants, and also reduction of fruit set, delaying flowering, extending the harvest period and the Storability.
The following triazine derivatives, some of which are known and some of which are new, can be considered as active ingredients:

<tb> Kp 0 . 003 <SEP> 88-90 Solvents, such as, in particular, alcohols, for example ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, ketones, such as acetone, are used to prepare the agents according to the invention or cyclohexanone, aliphatic hydrocarbons such as kerosene and cyclic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylene, tetrahydronaphthalene,
alkylated naphthalenes, also chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as tetrachloroethane, ethylene chloride and finally also mineral and vegetable oils or mixtures of the above substances in question.
In particular, in the case of the total killing of vegetation, premature drying out and defoliation, the effect can be increased by the use of inherently phytotoxic organic liquids, such as high-boiling mineral oil fractions or chlorinated hydrocarbons; on the other hand, the selectivity of the growth inhibition when using carrier substances which are indifferent to plants, for example in selective weed control, may under certain circumstances be more evident.
The various active ingredient solutions can be adapted to the intended use in the usual way by adding substances which improve distribution, adhesive strength, rain resistance and possibly the penetration capacity, for example fatty acids or resins. Their biological effect can also be broadened by adding substances with bactericidal fungicides or properties that also influence plant growth.
The present patent relates to a means of influencing plant growth, in particular for combating weeds, characterized in that it is a compound of the formula
EMI0002.0016
wherein R1 and R2 denote hydrogen or a non-aromatically bound, optionally substituted Koh lenwasserstoffrest, and contains an organic liquid.
A few examples of typical application forms are given below. Example 1 5 parts of 2,4-dichloro-6-di-n-butylamino-s-triazine are dissolved in 90 parts of liquid carrier, for example diacetone alcohol, xylene, and mixed with 5 parts of a non- ionogenic emulsifier, for example polyethylene ether mixed with fatty alcohols. The solution is mixed with water in the desired ratio and forms a milky emulsion.
Example 2 10 parts of 2,4-dichloro-6-ethylamino-s-triazine are dissolved in 90 parts of trichlorethylene or in a high-boiling liquid and the solution is applied directly.
