<tb> <B>cl</B>
<tb> N <SEP> N
<tb> R-(X)n <SEP> N <SEP> <B>)\</B> <SEP> N

Means for influencing plant growth, in particular for controlling weeds. It has surprisingly been found that

Triazine <SEP> of the <SEP> formula
<tb> <B> cl </B>
<tb> N <SEP> N
<tb> R- (X) n <SEP> N <SEP> <B>) \ </B> <SEP> N
<tb> \ R2 where X is oxygen or sulfur, n is 0 or 1, R, R1 and R, hydrogen or non-aromatically bonded hydrocarbon radicals, can influence the growth of plants, in particular inhibit them, or kill plants even in very low concentrations .
Compounds of the formula defined above can easily be prepared by the stepwise reaction of cyanuric chloride with suitable alcohols, mercaptans and / or amines.
They are particularly suitable as active ingredients for weed control agents, both for the selective killing of weeds under cultivated plants and for the total killing and prevention of unwanted vegetation. Weeds here also include undesirable crops, for example crops grown before or in the vicinity.
The compounds defined above are also suitable as active ingredients for exercising inhibitory effects on plant growth, in particular defoliation, accelerating maturity through premature drying out, for example of potato plants, and also reducing fruit set, delaying flowering, prolonging the harvest period and the Shelf life.
The following triazine derivatives are, for example, suitable as active ingredients: 2-chloro-4-methoxy-6-diethylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-ethoxy-6-ethylamino-s-triazine, F: 86 to 89, 2 -Chlor-4-ethoxy-6-diethylamino-s-triazine, F: 48 to 50.
The subject of the present patent is a means of influencing plant growth, in particular for combating weeds, characterized in that it is a compound of the formula
EMI0001.0020
wherein X, n, R, R1 and R2 are as defined above and contain a surfactant.
The agents according to the invention can be emulsions or suspensions. The forms of application depend entirely on the intended use, all the forms of application only have to ensure that the active substance can be finely distributed. To produce agents according to the invention, the active substances, for example as such or in one of the solvents mentioned below, are homogenized in water by means of surface-active substances such as wetting agents or dispersants.
Examples of cation-active emulsifiers or dispersants are quaternary ammonium compounds, anion-active emulsifiers soaps, soft soap, aliphatic long-chain sulfuric acid monoesters, aliphatic or aromatic sulphonic acids, long-chain alkoxyacetic acids,
of non-ionic emulsifiers, polyethylene ethers from fatty alcohols and polyethylene condensation products. On the other hand, existing concentrates can also be prepared from active ingredient, emulsifier or dispersant and possibly solvent, which concentrates are suitable for dilution with water.
For the preparation of solutions of the active ingredients with surface-active substances, solvents such as, in particular, alcohols, for example ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, ketones such as acetone or cyclohexanone, aliphatic hydrocarbons such as kerosene and cyclic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylene, tetrahydronaphthalene, alcohol - lated naphthalenes,
also chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as tetrachloroethane, ethylene chloride and, finally, mineral and vegetable oils or mixtures of the above substances.
Particularly in the case of the total destruction of plant growth, in the case of premature dehydration and defoliation, the effect can be strengthened by the use of per se phytotoxic organic liquids, such as high-boiling mineral oil fractions or chlorinated hydrocarbons; on the other hand, the selectivity of the growth inhibition when using carrier substances which are indifferent to plants, for example in selective weed control, may under certain circumstances be more evident.
In order to prepare concentrates for suspensions, it is also possible initially to prepare powdered preparations by mixing or jointly grinding the active substance with a solid carrier. The following can be considered: talc, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, bentonite, calcium carbonate, boric acid, tricalcium phosphate, but also wood flour, cork flour, coal and other materials of vegetable origin. On the other hand, the substances can also be absorbed onto the carrier materials by means of a volatile solvent.
By combining them with wetting agents and optionally protective colloids, the powdered preparations can then be suspended in water and made usable as sprays. Similar agents can also be obtained by adding wetting agents to pastes; H. Mixing solid active ingredients with non-dissolving liquids.
The various application forms can be adapted to the intended use in the usual way by adding substances that improve distribution, adhesive strength, rain resistance and possibly the penetration capacity, such as fatty acids, resins, glue, casein or alginates. Their biological effect can also be broadened by adding substances with bactericidal, fungicidal properties or properties that also affect plant growth, as well as fertilizers.
Furthermore, the following examples of typical application agents and forms are given. <I> Example 1 </I> 20 parts of 2-chloro-4-ethoxy-6-diethylamino-s-triazine are mixed with 70 parts of a solid inert carrier substance, for example kaolin, chalk, bentonite or diatomaceous earth, 7 parts a surface-active, non-ionic wetting agent,
For example a sulfuric acid ester of an alkyl polyglycol ether, 3 parts protective colloid, for example sulphite waste liquor, finely ground in a pin mill.
The powder obtained can be suspended in water and can be processed into spraying agents. <I> Example 2 </I> 5 parts of 2-chloro-4-methoxy-6-diethylamino-s-triazine are added to 90 parts of liquid carrier for Example diacetone alcohol and xylene, dissolved and mixed with 5 parts of a nonionic emulsifier, for example polyethylene ethers of fatty alcohols. The solution is mixed with water in the desired ratio and forms a milky emulsion.
If the active ingredients which can be used according to the invention contain a free hydroxyl or mercapto group, they can also be used in the form of their salts with suitable bases, especially if the active ingredients are more or less soluble in water. Likewise, active ingredients with a basic character can also be used in the form of their salts with suitable acids.
