Device of index hands mounted on the glass of a time instrument On certain on-board watches, a device of index hands is used intended to keep the time of a departure, a passage, an arrival , etc. These hands are generally two in number, one marking the hour, the other the minute. Their axis of rotation may be distinct from that of the real watch hands, or may coincide with it.
In the latter case, the needles can be fixed against the ice and controlled by a button. It is also possible that only one is fixed to the center of the crystal, the other being replaced by an index carried by a movable bezel.
In devices where the two needles are controlled by the same button, there may be either a transmission of the movement from one needle to the other by gears, or a click system allowing one of the needles to be placed first. , for example that of the hours, to the desired position, then the other, without the position of the first being modified. In the latter case, a snap allows only one needle to be moved in one of the directions of rotation,
while they all move, both of the same angular value in the other direction. The latching itself then consists of a toothed wheel carrying one of the needles, at least one pawl and its return spring. The toothed wheel generally carries field teeth on which the pawl acts by pressure parallel to the axis of rotation. In known devices of this kind, this action is provided by a small compressed coil spring. The assembly is quite delicate.
The marker needle device according to the present invention overcomes this drawback. It is also snap-on. It allows to operate in one direction. the two needles and, in the other, one only by pressing the same central button. Construction and assembly are simpler. The pawl spring is removed.
The construction according to the present invention is characterized in that the pawl is formed of an elastic blade reinforced parallel to the axis of the button, one end of said blade resting inside the button, the other end being curved in nose-shaped, so as to cooperate with the field teeth of the ratchet wheel. This blade can have various shapes.
In general, it will have the shape of a plane ring cut radially at a point and more or less complete. However, it could also be cylindrical and include a vertical cut, one lip of which would work with a straight toothing located around the periphery of the ratchet wheel. It could still be triangular, square, or any other polygonal shape.
The material of which it is made may be, other than a carbon steel, a stainless and non-magnetic alloy resistant to fatigue and wear, beryllium bronze, etc.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is the section passing through the axis of the button, showing the function of the pawl of the pawl and the support of this pawl inside the button.
Fig. 2 shows the pawl seen in plan from above.

The marker needle device according to FIG. 1 comprises a cannon wheel 1 carrying a field toothing 2 with wolf teeth. The barrel 3 crosses the glass 4, in which it is adjusted fat-hard thanks to the elastic sleeve 5. On this barrel is adjusted one of the needles 6. A control button 7 is extended by a central rod 8, crossing the barrel 3 and carrying the second needle 9, fixed by screw 10.
The toothed part of the wheel 1 is housed in a recess 11 of the button 7. Between the teeth 2 and the bottom of the recess 11, there is provided a space in which the pawl 12 is placed which is sufficiently thin over at least part of the its length so as not to require a return spring. Its position is defined by a pin 13, which is fixed to it, adjusted in a blind hole 14 made in the control button 7.
The pawl 12 is formed from a portion of an annular part (fig. 2) reinforced axially and having a radial cut 15, so that one of the lips 16 is bent downwards and sharpened in the shape of a nose so as to work. in the teeth 2.
By turning the button 7 in the direction where the nose 16 meets the vertical faces of the teeth 2, the needle 6 is brought to its position, then by turning the button in the other direction, the nose 16 clicks on the teeth 2 until the second hand 9 has also reached the desired position. The position of the first needle did not change during this last phase of registration.
