Watch movement with winding stem
The present invention relates to a timepiece movement with a winding stem.
This winding stem can be called upon, depending on the type of movement, to perform several functions.
It can be used for manual winding, even in a self-winding room.
It can serve as a time-setting device.
It can, in a calendar watch, also serve as a date correction member.
Whatever the number of functions that the rod is called upon to perform, the passage from one to the other is effected by an axial displacement of the latter, which makes it necessary to provide means suitable for fixing the various positions required. .
For this purpose, the rod is generally fitted with notches, in the form of peripheral circular grooves, which hitherto has been made to cooperate with at least one jumper spring, most often three or four distributed around the periphery of the rod. This or these springs are thin, delicate and exposed to breakage metal blades.
Their manufacture is expensive, requiring the execution of longitudinal grooves in the end of a thin barrel surrounding the rod and, moreover, internally profiled, which requires an operation of turning in addition to the inventory.
These difficulties are easily overcome by the clockwork movement according to the invention, with a winding stem performing at least one of its functions in a position determined axially by its cooperation with a fixed elastically breakable element, which is made up of of an elastically deformable non-metallic material and surrounding the rod on 3600.
This element will in particular be a tube having, at the location of one or more peripheral circular grooves of the rod, an internal circular bead, capable of cooperating with said groove or grooves to fix at least in the axial position of the rod by its elastic penetration in a bleeding.
Such a tubular element will be free from thin and fragile elastic lamellae, it is deformable but practically indestructible. Its manufacture presents no difficulty, it is possible to mold it in one piece.
In addition to determining various axial positions of the winding stem by the above-mentioned means, certain functions lead to the resolution of other problems. in particular and in one of the positions of the stem, to the obligation to connect it kinematically to such and such a member, such as for example a date indicator.
Making use of the same principle, namely to use an elastically deformable non-metallic material, it is possible to at least partially construct the portion of a mobile surrounding the hole through which the rod will pass, itself provided with a rib which, in the corresponding position of the rod, will be elastically clamped in said hole, so as to be then rotatably coupled to the mobile.
All the aforementioned advantages are combined in the embodiment of the object of the invention described below by way of example with reference to the single figure of the appended drawing, which is a section taken along the axis. of the rod.
The movement plate is located there at 1, a ratchet drive mobile in 2, a date indicator in 3, and time-setting references in 4 and 5.
The winding stem intended to act on these various components is at 6 and carries the control pinion in two parts 7-7 '(winding pinion 7 and setting pinion 7'), a star for correcting date finally found in 8.
Having to occupy three different axial positions, winding, date correction, time setting, the winding stem has three peripheral circular grooves or grooves 9, 10, 11, placed side by side.
Distinguished by this from conventional constructions, the winding stem 6 pivots in a tube 12 of elastically deformable material, which it passes right through and which serves as a sort of bearing.
This tube is fixed in a corresponding radial hole of the plate.
In the zone located opposite the grooves 9, 10, 11, or here at its end oriented towards the outside of the movement, the tube 12 has a bead 13, forming an internal circular rib.
Penetrating into a groove, said bead determines an axial position of the rod 6. But, given the elasticity of the material of which it is made, it does not oppose, under the impulse of a certain force, an axial displacement of the latter. During the passage from one bleed to another, the bead will be crushed but, by virtue of its elasticity, its convex profile will be immediately re-established next to a new bleeding.
By this extremely simple and robust means, the bead 13 will fix, in cooperation with the rod 6, the positions of the latter corresponding to the three desired functions.
If there were only two such functions, the rod would have only two bleeds.
Behind the tube 12, at 6 ′, the rod 6 has a diameter slightly smaller than the internal diameter of said tube but, at 14, this second part comprises a cylindrical circular rib.
The date correction star 8 is also made of an elastically deformable material, at least at the location of its hole 15, the diameter of which will be such that it can only engage on the rib 14 by undergoing a very slight deformation, that is to say by force. This star is axially stationary and is normally located opposite the area of part 6 ′ of the winding stem, the reduced diameter of which leaves a clearance between the stem and the star.
Now here is how the described layout works:
In the first drawn position of the winding stem 6, its external groove 9 cooperates with the bead 13, which maintains the winding pinion 7 in engagement with the mobile 2 ratchet driver. This is the reassembly position.
By pulling the winding stem outwards so as to bring the second groove 10 to cooperate with the bead 13, the second position is reached, in which the aforementioned wheels 7 and 2 separate, while the rib 14 penetrates force in the hole 15 of the star 8. The latter thus becomes rotatably integral with the rod 6, which can therefore drive it in rotation. This is the date correction position.
A new pull on the winding stem will bring the third bleeding 11 into cooperation with the bead 13.
In this third position, the rib 14 escapes star 8, while the time-setting pinion 7 ', reached at 7 ", meshes with the time-setting references 4 and 5. This is the time setting position.
The control pinion 7-7 'has yet another particularity.
Of the two parts that make it up, the second, or time-setting pinion 7 ', is part of the winding stem, which ends, beyond this pinion, in a square profile 6 ", while the first part, or winding pinion 7, is threaded onto this square. However, this first part 7 is also made of an elastically deformable material, its square hole ending in an internal bead 16, capable of coming to sit in a groove preceding the 6 "square.
It is thus sufficient to cover the square of part 7 and to push this part fully in the direction of the rod, so that said bead causes its attachment by its hooking in said groove.
